Rebel Acts and I spent another enjoyable few hours wandering the eastern and southeastern suburbs looking for plastic containers. With many hills conquered I was able to hang up the boots tonight with 42 finds. A few drinks later and I was fast asleep content with the experience. Thanks. Archived but available.
We are no longer involved with Geocaching so I will archive this series of Geocaches.
Found with Spladem and Sir James Oz while on a late night run. We all really enjoyed the walk in area at this late hour. A nice little series too. TFTC
Found with C@H and Sir J Oz after the well attended 11 11 11 @ 11 11 event just down the road.. This place had a bit of an earie feeling to it at this hour of the night.. Thanks Da Bugs for bringing us here for this nice little series.. We took turns making the finds and soon had em all in the bag.. TNLN Dipped various bugs and coins.. find #1849
Found @ 2:40. I tagged along on a post 11.11.11.11 event cache run with C@H and Spladem to do this series. We divided up the tasks at GZ, with Covert logging, Spladem cleaning up the cache contents, and I grabbed the info for number 5. Covert made the find on this one. Took detritus, left nothing, log was signed and an enjoyable time was had. Thanks for the cache.
Easiest of the 4 ash wesnesdays. Narre boys smashed them just like we smashed those parmas. Some bad smells too.
1.20pm
I was in the area and on the hunt for a group of caches that were not micros and I could walk between them, this series hit the nail on the head.
I parked the car ~100 meters from number four and headed along the track towards this one, out of the car and off I went.
After finding number four, the path was getting steeper and steeper and I knew I would have to probably have to come back up this hill. I found the cache quickly, grabbed the clue and off I headed to number two in the series. Nice tree!!!
Thanks to Da Bugs for the cache as well as the whole series.

With the fading light I did a sprint for this one which was an effort due to the terrian. Still I made it and cache found quickly. Looking at the next cache I decided to drive so I return to the car with fingers crossed I could get it back onto the road. Nice area. Thanks Da Bugs for the cache, onto the next one... TFTC, TNLN.

This series of caches was ment to be a relatively quick find on the way to dinner but due to how steep it is I was late to dinner. Good series of caches.TFTC

Parked the car at about 3:00am and headed into the park with the GPSr pointing the way and torchlight showing the way. After making my way past the giant spider that had made a huge web across the track (found a gap under the web and got throught without disturbing the spider); I got to GZ and the GPS was moving around a fair bit due to the tree coverage. I was pretty happy to find the cache after only a short search. TNLNSL. TFTC.
24-01 3rd find of the day at 14:46 and 853rd find in total.
Up the hill from #2 and it was a quick find.
Took out the lithium battery that was about to leak everywhere, you could see it bulging like a ripe sausage.
(''\(OoO)/'') Thanks Da Bugs for the caching fun!

The climb up was certainly pretty hard going, need to get fitter than that for summer! It's a nice area though, and we were pleased to find the cache and catch our breath. TFTC.
Perfect training for the Everest climb I'd forgotten to plan! Yep, it's a big hill, and I would've loved for the ranger's gate to have been open so I could've opened up the big Subaru 4-cylinder motor for the climb instead of moving my body that much closer to the eventual knee reconstruction.
Nice spot, although I wouldn't like to be stuck here when there's a few embers around. Perfect time to do this in September - not too hot and not too muddy.

I carried my weary body up the hill on aching legs, boy I need to get a lot fitter. I could smell something rotting nearby as I strolled up, however upon changing shirts later in the afternoon I think it was me!!
Cache was found in an obvious place, much to my relief after such a tough stroll.

Found this one after #4, Not a good sign when you come down a very steep track and realise you have to walk back up it to get to your car!!, but still a pleasant walk, Clouds are getting dark though.

And so we turned the corner, and there standing in front of us - 'The Hill'! We did actually enjoy the walk to this one and appreciated the lovely sunny weather too. Found the cache in short time and SL at 3:15pm. TNLN. Thanks again for the cache!
The trouble with walking downhill to No.2 is that sometime, eventually, you have to go back up again - bugger!
Luckily there was a quick stop on the way up, just long enough to grab a cache. (and for Chewin' to get his breath back).
Thanks, Robmc.

And so begins the slow walk back up. I was feeling like a breather just about where this cache is so it is well placed in that respect.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Having done #2, I headed off up the hill to get this one. At this point I started to get a little worried - the whole central area of the reserve suffered a fuel reduction burnoff over Easter and if the cache had been on the other side of the track, it would probably be a shapeless blob of plastic by now . Fortunately, it wasn't affected by the burnoff and was an easy find .

This was our 3rd find In this enjoyable series .
This was probably the easiest of them all as we could see the cache from the track as we approached GZ.
We logged our find, TNLN & then replaced the cache with a bit more cover so it was less visable to muggles who use this track!!

Third in the series and another easy find using the clue. Only it took me a little longer because I was using the wrong clue. It vaguely fitted too and some marks might attest to others doing the same thing! TNLN Thanks Da Bugs.
We all remember ash Wed well but this is my first visit to Beaconsfield and the bush which claimed so many lives. I really enjoyed the bush setting today and this cache. Thanks da bugs.

After a very slippery climb up this track we came to GZ. This was the second time I climbed this hill, the first time we made it up halfway only to find that we went past No. 2. So down I went again. By this time I was the fifth person to walk up this track and it was very slippery. I grabbed a stick to help me get up the hill. Arrived at GZ to find that Romax was looking for a tall person. Here I am.

[This was my second find of the series and after a little searching I finally found the cache.] It would be helpful to be tall. [you were quite right about steep and slippery. TNLN Thanks da bugs.]
I had managed to walk to Ash Wednesday Memories 2, without using the torch much thanks to low cloud and the moon, not so with this one. After climbing up the track I ended up having to resort to the clue. Unfortunatly the torch I had was not very strong. Found it at about 7:40pm TNLN

Damn! Up. I knew it would happen. This is pretty mighty up too by the way.
About halfway up I paused for breath and a drink (it was pretty warm today) and with about 30 meters to go.
Luckily I did as when I had finished the drink and recovered I was only 5 meters from the cache. Cool!
Checking the place for any wildlife (bitey or not) the cache was soon in hand.
Took some stickers and left some water balloons.
Thanks Da Bugs, off to number 4 (more up, more up, more up).

Found this one was a good walk and i enjoyed it was a bit overcast as the clouds had settled in overhead.
Well, after reading the logs about the K9s and hearing Dak's story first hand, I thought that I would ignore the 'closed for maintenance' notice and risk going through. I was not going to argue with those dogs, and Dak wasn't either. Didn't like the look of that tree, so I decided to 'scout around' it. So, here I am at #3, and my GPSr is not happy at all. It cannot decide which side of the path, or what distance it wanted to travel. Hmmm, I didn't want to spend too much time in the rain as it was getting heavier or keep Dak waiting, so I decrypted the clue. Thought for a minute that I was going to need some Inspector Gadget shoes, but looking further, I discovered that all was well.

As I found this one the rain started and I rushed a log and ran for it to the car. Saw the memorial on the way. Sat in the car with heater going flat out for 5 min and then left with the umbrela. By this time rain had stoped and the umbrela was in hand but not used for the rest of the series[:o].

It's about now I started to realise the warning about steep and slippery were warranted. And it started to rain. Other than that, cache found reasonably well - although I'm a short sort of fellow and it was a little hard to read the cache - but I strained on tippy toes and all was revealed.

Well, this was a performance! I had just done number four in the series, and was heading to this one. I came to a fork in the path. One way had signs that said the track was closed for maintenance; the other had a makeshift 'private property' sign. Believing that I was still in the reserve, I decided to ignore the latter sign. Minutes later I passed a house on the western boundary, and three dogs started barking and charged the fence. One of them was particularly aggressive, and it came through the fence and attacked me. That is to say, it approached to within less than a metre, and snarled and barked through bared teeth. I don't particularly like dogs at the best of times, and this is the reason why! I picked up a log as thick as my arm, and the dog retreated somewhat. I was prepared to let it have a taste of it, if it came any closer.
Then the owner approached from the house, but was unable to properly call off the dog. By now I was very angry! I actually wanted to clobber the mongrel (the dog that is, not the owner)! It turns out that the owner's not a bad bloke. He insisted that the dog does not bite (yeah, right! I've been bitten plenty of times by dogs that don't bite! [:(!]). He's been robbed twice, and the dogs are his alarm system. He explained that it is in fact private property, but he doesn't mind walkers or horse riders passing through. He said that if you call the dog by its name, "Snowy", it will apparently leave you alone (you can treat that with how ever many grains of salt that you wish). I wanted to retreat to the fork, but he actually encouraged me to continue, and told me where to go to re-enter the park further on. I don't know whether his claim of private property is correct or not, but I believe the best advice I can give is to avoid the area. You will be attacked by the dogs! If it really isn't private property, someone needs to report this menace to the authorities before someone gets hurt!
Anyhow, on to the cache. This was my third of the "five-fer" in Critchley Parker Junior Reserve. I now realised why there is a warning about steep paths (I was later to find that the warning is completely justified). Once I arrived at GZ it was an easy find. It was somewhat exposed, and I could see it from the track. I covered it better before I left. I found it at 1130.

Found 15:55, after beating off a pack of savage dogs, well OK it was only a golden retriever in need of an attitude adjustment (and Biggles Bear had just the right stick to provide such an adjustment ), and being told we were on private property (not according to our map we weren't) by owner of afore mentioned dog

Mr.Coffee and Shelby found this cache today.
After a hill climb that resembled a small creek during the wet season we began our search. after poking my arm and hand into areas that I wouldnt do during summer we successfuly aquired the 3rd Cache.
Thanks Da Bugs for the nice walk in the light rain, it is much better than sitting at home dry and warm.
Also thanks for the cookies and cream scented trail to this cache, I have this desire to stop off at Bi-Lo for a block of chocolate to eat with the Ttttteeeaaa.

Yes muddy, Yes slippery, but worth it & a great little hiding spot. Found by chick 1 [8)] on the shoulders of dad (the rooster) much too her delight. I didn't even know this park was down here until today! Unfortunately it was getting dusky & so we still have 2 out of 5 to go (with a bit of luck in the next few days).

Well done Da Bugs & Thanks for another series in close proximity to each other.
P.S. If travelling to #4 from here, best stay on this track, as track to left & up hill leads to boundary track & not so gentle neighbouring dogs.

Found at 3:40pm. We had been beaten to the 1st place at #1 by Team Crackers and after being beaten to #2 by both Team Crackers and Chookies we now found at #3 that we were once again in third place. Surely this must mean Chookies were definitely around somewhere and we were hopefully chasing them around this side of the park. We now really thought that we would have a race to the final cache as they may still have not logged #1.
Almost waiting for the ladies on horseback to show up again but this time we had the cache to ourselves. We wondered how on earth were the riders able to negotiate the steep slippery path between #2 and #3. After the signal initially led us to the wrong side of the path, it soon settled down and we once again logged an easy find.
Thanks Da Bugs from D & S B-A.
Took an otter, left a green dinosaur.

Headed here from number 2 and the last clue. A very interesting climb after a little bit of rain. Found cache easily in a very clever spot and with all information in hand started logging it into the GPS, when a voice said, Team Crackers I presume. It was two of the DaBugs. After an interesting chat as we both walked down the hill to our awaiting cars, they headed home and we headed to off to Ash Wednesday Memories not knowing what Murphy had planned for us in the near future
