Amazing by the merest of coincidence a group of us from a 4wd club selected this area for of all things GPS practise weekend and I could not believe my luck when I discovered the recent vist. Made for a fantastic weekend and introduced some folks with GPS to the world of Geocaching. Great success. Thanks Swampgecko and others. Route66 to be continued.....

What can I say that hasn't already been said -
Good food, Good weather, good company, good to get outdoors, good yarns, good to see so many familiar cachers, good to meet some new cachers, good nearby caches and GREAT weekend. Hope to see everyone again soon.
Thanks Swampy and Co for organising the event.

Found it? Could not miss it! People, tents, 4WD's, gps's, radios and travel bugs had taken over the swamp for the weekend.
We arrived after doing Watch your fingers, setup the canvas thingy, then took off to meet Bronze and Nads at Lithgow.
On arrival, we were told that friday night was very cold and there was ice around sat morning, well, that sounds like fun! Sat night was very mild once the wind dropped down. Even at 3:30am it was not cold at all, though, the sounds of dueling buzzsaws made it a little hard to get back to sleep.
Once crook little 4yo did put a dampner on the sat night and this morning, but, we all still had a great time.
Thanks for the great company, a chance to put some names to faces, catch up with some others we already knew and we all look forward to the next one.
Webby, the child bride and the 3 weblets!
Being our first Geocaching event to attend I wasn't sure what to expect but armed with the attitude to make the most of what would befall us and have fun no matter what, we had an incredibly great weekend. None of it bad unless you count a) leaving my sleeping bag at home, b) a leaking gas unit, c) thieving Kookarburra's stealing breakfast or d) losing a radio hand unit (later recovered) or e) winning the unlucky camper award.
Just as well we had our right attitude hats on because none of that misfortune mattered a bit. It just made the experience that much more rich and fullfilling. One hell of a weekend. Many thanks to SwampGecko for making it happen. Great to meet everyone at last and share the experience.

Great weekend. One of the most memorable I've had this year I reckon, including the weekend I density tested a concrete slab with my face.
I was great to catch up with all these names and put some faces to them. Swapping stories about different caches, regions, teams whos reputations preceed them and cache ideas that have now passed into oblivian.
Swampy was a great host and Nads a top chauffer. Chalked up about 12 finds for the weekend and saw not only the Mountians but all the town between there and here via Mudgee. A route I have never taken in the past.
My only regret is that Mix and Team 80 wern't able to join us. I would have liked the opportunity to sit and chat with a couple of teams a bit longer like Crowmage, Geomonkeys and The Rats but there will be other opportunities. Got to have a good chat to Ropes, Tryhards, Riblit and MindSocket etc.
Here's hopeing a couple of teams can make it to the Newcastle Years End Event Cache hosted by Mix. Should be a good show as well I hope. Thanks for you company guys.
For those who would like the bigger version of 1 or 2 pics email me direct with your request at thebronzemailbox AT yahoo DOT com. Make sure you have a couple of Meg spare in your in box as they are very big images.
The Bronze.

KitPie and I arrived on Saturday morning, just behind Webguy and The Rats. After setting up camp and a few good stories, I joined a few of the others to find Ropes' nearby cache, followed by High Point. As the sun set, I cooked up a storm and joined the others around the fire. KitPie was feeling under the weather so she got an early start testing the new inflatable mattress. After the day's activities, good food, good beer, and of course good company, I managed to fall asleep on my inflatable couch next to the fire.
The next morning, we awoke, feeling slightly refreshed. I went to bag the remaining caches in the area with Dave the Rat, Bronze and Nads, while KitPie went for a stroll with the wive's club We slowly packed up camp and made our way home, only to have to rush back out again to a BBQ that we didn't know about in advance.
Thanks for organising a fantastic weekend Swampy!

We arrived at what we though was an early hour to be confronted with 4 teams in residence. We set up a place to stay in time for morning tea and met with the usual suspects already in residence.
Mrs Riblit, on her second camping trip, embarked in on a voyage of discovery around the area and we took our place in the greeting line as others arrived. The flag raising ceremony was well attended and the Ropes organised tour of the surrounding tracks provided a chance to see sections of the bush normally left unseen.
As night fell the EcoTeam travelling gourmet kitchen arrived and EcoNic commenced her demonstration vegetarian cooking segment which was watched with interest as we heated up various pieces of dead animals for consumption. The travelling gourmet kitchen said their goodbys and departed into the night. The Dubbo contingent provided the musical interlude as the evening took hold and the fire kept the chill at bay. People left the fire circle and headed to their tents at spasmotic intervals until raindrops caused a mass exodus at the end of the evening. The cloud cover kept the night warmer than the previous one and the early risers tried their best to wake up the rest from around sunup. Some people decided on an early morning cache run, others thought breakfast was a better idea.
The gathering gradually dispersed during the morning and early afternoon as people consulted their lists of unfound caches and decided how to make the most of their trip home.
It was a relaxing weekend with good friends and company.
Thanks for organising it Swampy.

We took Swampy's advice and arrived mid Friday afternoon to interrupt Swampy's attempt on route 66, Then we started to pull the car apart to open a car draw that had become jamb close by a hammer.
Friday night was nice and fresh as on Saturday morning we hand a very nice frost. As every one started to arrive that’s when the fun started as we stood by and watched Swampy send every one who was doing route 66 all over the place
The night actives (Drinking and Talking) was grate as we now have face to put to teams
Thanks Swampy for an top weekend

It was soooooooo much fun! We found the lollie cache [8)](YUM!). It was a fun weekend for all who went! But the first night was a bummer for us because I had to share my sleeping bag with dad! (fun (not))! But the next day we went to richmond and got a new sleeping bag for dad! The 2 nights where freezing but i had a good sleep (on the second night!)... we walked to where there were meant to be glow worms but what we found were mossies!!! Another walk down to some warratahs 9 on one bush (thing) and 11 on another! I took photos and they will be put up shortly! (i hope!) Jas and i had several goes on the flying fox set up by the rats (thankyou to them!)! My "yellow jumper" is now black and my fave pants have a black patch on the bottom! Learnt alot of things, like; don't forget sleeping bags, don't forget raggy clothes to wear on flying fox! Things like that! I was so glad i went because everyone there was so nice and so kind and so caring and so fun to be with! I'd do that anytime, anywhere, just for the sake of meeting more geocacher's and having friends in differnt places!
A BIG THANKYOU to Swampgecko for preparing this special and fun event!

Whoops, TB alert, another for the melting pot of things attached to metal tags.
Mind Socket intends to be there. A cask of the finest red might help dull the senses to localised low frequency disturbances.
As yet I have not consulted with the child bride, but, I expect we will be turning up for this weekend with weblets in tow.
