Found in the last place I looked, gps took me on a little wander but finally got it right, havent found one of these containers for a while now, great to see. SL TFTH and bringing us to this historic site.
Glad I found this one after a tentative walk through the long grass, clambering over a fence, and seeing all the rocks it could possibly be under. Actually didnt take too long once I was there. Thank you.
Stumbled across this site on the way to Horrocks. They have done a great job restoring the main building and the history plaques were very interesting. Thanks for putting a cache here.
Despite holidaying in Horrocks a few times in the early 90s when I was a kid. I only discovered Lynton and the pink lake on a trip in 2011! Thanks for bringing me back to this piece of history.
On our travels we stopped here for a look and of course grab this cache, under a rock you say, bahahaha which rock I say but luckily we found it as the coords are spot on, thanks for placing this fun cache
That is a bit of a challenge but a former geocaching person left a pen nearby for me,tftc.
We quickly took a short break for this old geocache before continuing on by car. TFTC
An interesting spot to visit and a proper sized cache container. Got to love that. I found your D2.5/T2.5 Regular Traditional called Lead to Lynton - Convict History on 23 September 2023. It was find #18485 for me. Thank you Lyn Pat and Nathan for placing this cache for our enjoyment in the wonderful state of Western Australia.
Interesting history and a good sized cacheTFTC Lyn Pat and Nathan. Found on 23 Sep 2023 at 10:39. Find # 2707
Heading north and this looked a good stop. Interesting ruins and history. It was then over to GZ for a quick find and some more views. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Nice easy find as we explore to convict ruins. We are camped nearby at little bay and enjoying the fantastic weather. Tftc
The trip is making me think about re-imagining Australian history! I should have opened the page while I had reception as with plenty of rocks it took a tad longer to locate. BUT there she is - a good size cache! Glad we detoured this way. Have travelled WEST from home base 3500 km away and that includes altitude as well so enjoying the landscape and habitat changes of this BIG country. TFTC and a fave for the lure to visit.
No muggles around today with the drizzly weather, so it was a quick find. Great cache container and GPS spot on. What an interesting place to visit. TFTC
Nice quick find heading south. What a great location to learn about local history. Well deserved Fav point here. TFTC.
Found! A traditional cache with the rusty red cache, I couldn’t cover it well so the next person who finds this please help me put back the cache properly
And another great cache placement from these CO's, otherwise we would not have stopped by, and what an interesting convict history in this unknown place, this is a remarkable restoration, congrats to all involved, TFTC Lyn Pat and Nathan
The station knows the cache is there and as long as you are careful not to damage anything then going over the fence and logging the cache is ok.
Camped at Linga Longa and noticed this cache was an oldie so a must do. We visited this historic site thirty years ago and appreciate the conservation work done both here and at Stanford House.
Caravanning, caching and hunting wild flowers on this trip from S.A. We looked at the long grass and decided to pop on the gaiters. Great History here. T.F.T.C.
Tftc took a bit of walking in the long grass… fortunately didn’t find any wriggly things
Patch’s favourite container but she wasn’t up to the walk after a fall in Port Gregory. Luckily we found no “snakes in the grass”. Thanks for this cache.
Catching up on some late logs, now that I have time, while travelling.
We are on the road travelling up through central Australian and down the coast of WA. I was happy to grab a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
Headed up to find this hide. It was a bit of a trek through the lumpin and bush but a quick find at GZ. We then spent some time exploring the old Convic History which was so interesting. We have marked this on the to "next trip" as the nearby camping ground had so much to offer.
Thanks Lyn Pat and Nathan for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

Travelling from Geraldton to Kalbarri, we stopped at this historic convict settlement to check out the old stone buildings and read the story boards. The cache was found after a short walk over some very rocky, overgrown terrain. I love a nice big military cache.
Wow. Harder than I thought it would be So many rocks. Then walked around. Let the GPS settle and bingo. Spotted something. And there it was. Great cache! Love it. . So much in it. Great location. Glad I had my runners on. TFTC !!!!
Found it. TFTC Lyn Pat and Nathan. Once I got around to looking for the cache it was a quick find, replaced as found. Very interesting location, thanks for getting me to stop
Stopped to grab this oldie. Dashed up the hill like a mountain goat, waving my arms to scare away the flies.
At GZ made a quick find of an old, but very functional container.
A fave point for the longevity of this one.
Heading north for a few days in and around Geraldton. Headed off early morning and followed the coast. Planned to head into Jurien Bay to grab the lab series there and grab a few caches along the way.
Lyn Pat and Nathan SVKR_WA is happy to have found your cache Lead to Lynton - Convict History today at 10:29:59 1 May 2022. This brings my find count to 5292

First time I came to port Gregory the road was gravel and it was pretty rough going. Been a few upgrades since then. This is the first time I’ve stopped here at Lynton depot. Tftc.
A quick find here with Deefa71 on a day trip to Kalbarri whilst staying in Gero. A very interesting location. Fave point. Tftc
Enjoyed the historical site, thanks for bringing us here. Cache was quite a challenge, but
Thanks for bringing us to this historic spot.
TFTC Lyn Pat and Nathan this is find #12519 for us.
TFTC Lyn Pat and Nathan this is find #12519 for us.
A few trees down due to the cyclone but managed to find it. A little tricky getting over the fence
Find #578. Love places like this. A cracker of a site for history lovers. Left Aussie Ben TB, so please take him somewhere. TFTC.
Wow the vista has changed over the past 16 years you can hardly see the bend tree due to the height of the grass. A lovely venue for a history buff like me. I will have to do some further reading on the subject. Once again Lyn Pat & Nathan thanks for showing us something interesting.
Great little place, definitely not where we thought it was going to be when we pulled up.
Greetings from Scotland. We are making our way from Carnarvon to Kalbarri today on our way back to Perth. We are taking the scenic route to Kalbarri via Pink Lake. We saw this one on the map and thought we would stop for a look. It also allowed us to lose the caravan in front. The museum seemed to be closed as there was a rope over the entrance and not a soul around. We parked up and took the short walk to the cache. The cache was easily spotted and a nice big container. We love containers like this. We took the TB to move on and replaced everything as found.
*This is our 10415th logged find. Found at 15:18 hrs.* TFTC

Clue has been updated after Crouchey noticed the clue did not match the location as well as it should have. Distance from tree changed slightly. I also increased the terrain level slightly as its not as easy on a hot day.
Thanks and happy hunting.
Thanks and happy hunting.
The geogirls went a searching and were successful as you heard the we found it over the hills no mugles to worry about and a great spot of history thanks for bringing us here well worth a stop
Braved the long grass and arrived at said tree after doing a spot of rock hopping. Great views of convict settlement. Tftc
Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply cruising from Geraldton to Kalbarri.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'Lyn Pat and Nathan' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Lead to Lynton - Convict History' and the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest.

This time the grass wasnt too scary long so we braved the fences and the flies and made our way up. Cache was quickly found, thanks to a good hint, log signed, a travel bug and a Pathtag dropped off. Thanks for placing this cache all these years ago LynPatNathan.
Persuaded the muggle parents to stop over to look at the area while nikkiholland and I scrambled up the hill. Love a good ammo cache thank you for bringing us here
Hop, skip and a jump to pop over to this lovely Cache TFTC! If I’m being honest, I probably wouldn’t have stopped here otherwise! With SHAZAMATAK
Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late and generic log, something I am notorious for. Thank you Lyn Pat and Nathanfor adding to the adventure that is geocaching.

Hi there Lyn Pat and Nathan.
We found your cache **"Lead to Lynton - Convict History"** at 11:00:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 22668).
We are staying in Kalbarri for a few days. We started our caching run by nominating a cache quite a way from our camp site and then took a route that was sometimes determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. We thoroughly enjoyed our interesting trek around the local area
We ended up finding a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route. (8 finds today & 0 DNF's). Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic travels around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
**Dropped Trackable:** "Raser".
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.
