Logs
As per the recent logs, due to the maintenance and improvements of this area, I don't think the Cache is there any longer.
Nice spot all the same.
Nice spot all the same.
This area has been upgraded recently, new fence and area re-gravelled. The cache was damaged when the work was being carried out. The cache is in the Punakaiki visitor centre. Probably not a wise idea to hide a new cache on the wrong side of the barrier. Cheers.
Yeah nope, didnt see where it might be even in the obvious spot. guess its gone
Felt a bit naughty jumping the barrier - which wasn't helped by Zekeasaurus telling me off in the way only a 3 year old can! Had a look in all the hint-lead places I could find, as did Dopeyr but nothing uncovered. Our last stop in Punakaiki before heading to stay with a friend in Tapawera. Zekeasaurus was out like a light a few moments in to our journey and remained so until we arrived!
Found ourselves here unexpectedly today and the viewing platform has a new barrier that is blocking the cache. We didnt have time to look for the cache as we were here for something else but the cache could still be accessed if you walked on the outer side of the barrier.
Found 1:13pm , find # 2066
Our holiday touring the South Island is going really well and we're enjoying it immensely.
After some rain overnight, we scouted around Greymouth this morning and picked up a few caches.
Then we left for Nelson, and found more along the way, until torrential rain made us decide to put caching on hold after doing the swing bridge near Murchison. So unfortunately we didn't do any more until reached Nelson.
This was find number 11 for the day.
Great location, easy find.
Always just behind a team from Denmark, after several days.
Took a geocoin which will come back to Australia.
Thanks Moneydork.

Lovely views, the weather has decided to be very nice to us during our visit to the Coast. TFTC!
There was a drizzly sea mist along the coast today but still a spectacular view from here.

Cloudy, windy and muggles. It must be fantastic view if there is good weather. TFTC!
Very windy conditions today. I didn´t see Mt. Cook, but I believe you it can be seen from this lookout. tftc
Not so great views today, but breathtaking enough that we left the Garmin at GZ. Realised at our next stop and had to head back. Thanks God it was still there. TFTC

Those are some pretty great ocean vistas! Managed to find and rehide cache in between waves of muggles arriving for photo opportunities. Mr Geckoh even got asked to take a group photo for some tourists. TFTC

On our great trip along the east coast, we picked this one up. Great view! Thanks!!
What a wonderful spot!! In clear sunshine we could see both: Cape Foulwind and the snowy mountains. The cache was easily found and the journey continued. TFTC.

I drove south today from Nelson to the Glaciers. It was a very sunny and bright day and I enjoyed the ride very much. I drove through wonderful landscape that could be put on postcards and I visiting many interesting places along the way. This is also due to the caches I have found, this being one of them. Each cache made my journey ever more pleasant! A big thank you to all owners!

Our 170th find in NZ, 1st of Day 14
After our beloved green monster died on the way north on the 12th, we were robbed of a day whilst they fixed the clutch in Greymouth, so was happy to be back on the road and happy to stop by here for our first find of the day. Plenty of tourists so made our find, had a squizz and moved on!

Wow, what a marvellous view! We enjoyed this one a lot, and there even was a short time frame where we were alone and were able to find and log this cache. Thanks for showing this beautiful spot!

My first New Zealand cache (from Colorado, USA)! Beautiful clear day - I guess I was lucky, no rain and no one at the viewpoint. Spectacular view of the coastline! TFTC
Found it with no difficulty...returning it to its hiding spot was challenging as a bus load of folks surrounded the area....Waited patiently for them to leave before replacing it.
Magnificent view!

... found it ! ... a great vista indeed ... until a damn' tour bus pulled up and spit out a load of loud tourists who proceeded to crowd right into our personal space mere steps away from where we were sitting. ... made the grab before the bus arrived and quickly stuffed it away ! ... TFTH
On our way southbound this seemed to be a good stop for a little break and to enjoy the view. And there was a cache, too, but as we reached the coordinates it did not seem that we’ll be able to search for this one as the place was frequently visited by other people.
But all the sudden alls muggels were gone and we were all alone. So we just had to go too the coordinates and find the cache, so we did fast at 11.05 a.m.
Thanks for the hide.

Finally found a cache big enough for most of my TBs!
Great west coast weather
Great west coast weather
Last half of holiday trip in New Zealand. Starting again from Queenstown going Westcoast up and Eastcoast down.. A nice bunch of caches wanted to be found. First it looked like all day raining, but then we sometimes had good conditions. Thanks for the great adventure.
We found this one on our recent trip to New Zealand to attend the Mega Event.
Thanks for the cache Moneydork,

It wasn't a bad view today so it must be a spectacular one when it's not pouring wit rain. A nice quick find for which we are grateful. TFTC
Even on this rainy and blustery day, it's worth stopping here, and you can really imagine ships being wrecked on the vicious rocks you can see like teeth in the pounding surf waves. The cache was safe and sound and surprisingly dry, and we managed to avoid the pair of muggles crazy enough to want to look at the view in this weather. An atmospheric stop today, TFTC, Moneydork. =^.^=
Nobody around today. Enjoyed the view and found the cache quickly. All in good condition. SL Thx. Visiting from Arizona, USA
Just got this one signed as a bus load of tourist turned up, turned out to be a busy spot. But great views.

Got there and there was a bus load of Muggles. Thankfully they left before too long and we were able to start searching. Easy find with great views. Thanks
A bit slow logging this one, found it at 1408 hrs 15/10/12 .GPS'r had me on the wrong side of the fence.A car pulled up on the side of the road down below me and I then thought about a possible over hang where I was hunting, well that thought got me back on the safe side of the fence.Checked the hint and an easy find. That,s when I met Felix 11 and Hubby.I hope their MEGA EVENT event went well.
Thanks for the hide and the great view, CF

Unfortunately the weather was terrible, but we still made a dash from the car. Found quickly. View wasn't very far, with all the misty clouds closed in. Never mind. SL. TFTC.
Day 2 of our Criss Cross Tour of NZ before the Mega. Heading from Reefton to Greymouth today.
We parked in the wrong spot as usual. And started the longer walk following the GPSr. As we did so Mrs Felix was looking around and around. Mr Felix thought she had lost her marbles yet again but no she was apparently hearing voices? Sure enough as we rounded the bend we saw another car and realised there were people at the lookout. Mr Felix walked back to the car to move it to the better parking spot.
Whilst Mrs Felix walked up to the lookout. On arrival she notice a man off to one side but was enjoying the view. He must have hurried his movements as her eye caught onto the movement and realised he had a cache out and was trying to sign and put it away before she turned back.... lol...
With a quick comment of "Don't bother to put it back!" Introductions were soon made! So we both signed the log before returning to our cars. It sure was cold out in the wind today. Great to meet you Chieffakawee, shame you can't stay for the Mega.

After a few days of rain we let our clothes dry in the sun and went for a nice walk to the cache.
Always a great view no matter what the weather. Came past here on Friday night and noted the large crowd of black hooded youths and low slung cars. Plenty of rubber left on the road to mark their gathering.

Have been to the Ocean Vista in Nelson so this was a must do. Truly a magnificent place to stop at so thanks for bringing us in here. This sort of site ticks all the boxes for us, something special to see, a readily accessable cache, and good parking. A favourite from us. TFTC.
we first had to wait until a car full of people sat down again on the move. Then we struck. Thanks
As we arrived there was a coach we some tourists. Soon they left and we could find the box. Thanks for this nice view
Been here a few times, nice spot and i found the cache, it has been a big day of DNFs, and guess who most of them belonged to.
