In the area, getting some time on my mountain bike after a fresh service and revamp, and because poor old Lysterfield got smashed by the storms so is closed for a while. After some time on the trails, it was time to scoop up a cache i missed previously and a bit further into the hills. So it was onto the bike again and up the hill, and up the hill some more, and a little bit more before getting to the GZ. A bit of a hunt around and then my radar spotted something that would be a good hiding spot. And there it was - unfortunately a bit of water in the box but the logs were good and well bagged so in good condition. Thanks Victourer as ever for taking on all these caches!
Visited location. The Cache is in amazing condition considering it's age. Placed a new noter inside. all good.Regards Vic
Its nice to find a nice straight forward cache in this beautiful area. Thank you.
Work arranged itself rather nicely this week giving me a period of six days off. I spent a bit of time working out which direction i wanted to head for caching fun and decided to have another go at Melbourne and the surrounding suburbs. I then took quite a while coming up with a list of caches to target, there are just so many possibilities! I packed, had accommodation sorted, and even had a muggle caching buddy lined up to do the driving. Perfect! Too perfect... . Plans changed at the last minute and i came down to the city solo and without the accommodation option. I wasnt sure if i would keep the rest of the plan or head for the hills instead.
Well i have been here two days so far and im still here. Caching the peninsula has been fun interspersed with visits to various beaches. i have decided to persist with the plan and stay down this way for as long as i can.

With my wife off on a long run and then working, I had the morning to myself and what better way to spend it then geocaching. But not just any geocaching adventure, but a FTF Hounding trip, followed by seeking some other Victourer caches and anything else that caught my eye.
I was able to quickly find this when and back at the car a mountain bike rider stopped and we had a great chat about the local paths and how many of them are not open.
Thanks for the cache Cache Guardians and Nutcache.

It was a great day to head out and find a few caches so I met up with biggles1024 on we headed off with a number of caches as our targets.
We were driving by this one so we stopped for a look, it was only a short walk to GZ and the cache was found.
**Thanks to NutcacheCache for placing this cache and to Cache Guardians for babysitting it.**

OMG we didn’t have a four-wheel-drive! Beautiful bush though. Just glad we came in the summer!
Out with a mate showing him the 4wd tracks around the area. Why not find a few caches while out. Tftc.
My xmas in the bush caching run.
More a downhill trials course now, many obstacles to overcome on the way down.
I think DSE might have put an end to someone's dreams.

The geo family and I were on a mountain adventure today to hopefully see some snow. After a cold trip up, but no snow about, we had some lunch nearby and then made the detour for this old cach. I was a bumpy ride but we safely pulled over once near GC and made a quick find and enjoed the views. Once back in the geo wheels, the rain started to pour down. Lucky timing. Signed and replaced as found.

Second cache of the day around the area. Thankfully the GPS was a bit more accurate than Welcome Welcome falls. Great spot.

The cache was on the ground and uncovered. Could not see hide as in clue so have just made it less obvious.
Not quite a drive-by, because I couldn't bring myself to park within 150 metres or so. Safety first and stuff. The track that intersects with the road here is quite insane. Er, tracks can't be sane, I know, but I think you know what I meant. Cache was found fairly quickly after consulting the hint. Thanks Nutcache!
Found it! Out with geokids 1, 2 & 4 as they have a day off that actually lines up with M's. Decided to get some of the easier Upper Yarra area caches starting from Warby. This one ended up being the last find for this trip as kids needed to get to swimming lessons. Spent about 10 minutes walking in circles before we went to the clue and found it straight away. Not sure how long this cache will hold out, not much keeping this hide vertical any more...TFTC
This cache had us clambering up and down the slope for about 30min. Read previous log which was of some help but not as helpful as a quick call. Clever hide nutcache. Love your work.
It took Faulksi and I a lot of time here. We looked at the clue, we read the previous logs, my GPS was a bit confused. So in the end a PAF option seemed sensible. Even then, only armed with another clue, we didn't walk straight to it. Eventually it was spotted and a cheer rang out. Thanks Nutcache this is a really good hide.
After surviving "Path of the Dead (LR12)" a drive by would be a nice change. Pffft.
A typical Nutcache, I should have known better.
Directed to it from above by Mrs n0w0rries with the iPhone4.
Thanks for the cache Nutcache.
Spotted a black tailed wallaby sitting on the side of the road as we drove back out.

The MB track seems to be finished which is probably about right given the 11 year old cache description. On this side at least. According to the maps I had the trail extends to the other side of Mount Bride Road but I couldn't find it. I had the bike with me and the trail looked very inviting. I don't relish the thought of coming back the other way though! Maybe I will see if I can be dropped off here and do it the lazy way one day. The cache was very cleverly hidden. A familiar hide done in a different way - loved it. Thanks Nutcache.
No chance of me trying this one on bike. It was steep and tricky enough just walking to the gz. Found the cache container in the open and returned it to its hiding place. Log and contents were all well, thanks again Nutcache for the cache and for showing me this area.
Niftynevau and I went searching for this using his brand new garmin to navigate. It worked- after doing a few circles on the steep terrain he found it quite quickly
tried out the new garman gps for this one and it wasn"t long till the cach was at hand.tftc nutcache
Sometimes a track turns downwards and the riders love it. Testing the boundries you might say as this banana once state and only beaten by one other in this nation appreciated this "coast in the country".

Will now be added to this list of unloved in this huge quest by the bananas.

It was time for another Sunday afternoon caching run so we came back to the area where we were the week before. This one wasn't on the to grab list but was basically a drive by. And yes, you have to be kidding. We made our way down to this one on two legs and with the aid of trekking poles, I think I would be guarantteed a visit to the emergency department if I tried this one on two wheels!
after finding shelobs lair we decided to head to this one its sort of on the way ,the subabru didnt like the muddy patches on the road but we made it to within meters of the cache jumped out grabbed and signed the log and as we were leaving some insane mountain bike riders decided to do the track so we stayed and watched there is no way on earth i would ever attempt to do that i can barely ride my bike on a bike track let alone down that you have to be kidding tftc and for showing us something that we will never do

Out for a day caching. The main aim to try and capture Matrimonial Bliss, but on the way, to attempt a couple of Nutcache's hides. Mum's Subaru was emitting a funny noise when turning corners and I figured there might be a CV joint on the way out. What better thing to do than to take it down a few dirt tracks around Warburton! Only one leach for the day and an enjoyable time out in the bush.
This was a very easy find. Cache was in open view of the mountain bikers that obviously now ride by here. The log was completely soaked and unsignable. I dropped off a new log book, a pencil and a zip lock bag. I put the cache back in the obvious spot that I am guessing it was supposed to be, based on the clue.

Quick find while out looking for leadbeaters possum. Car full of mountain bike riders wanted to have a look, me turned on gps, wow thats close. Quick find Log book too wet to sign but probably rescueable. Certainly worth keepting it going. Didn't have time to try repairs myself.
Found the cache chucked down the hill, put it back together as best we could but was very wet

Second find for the day whilst in the Warburton area. I parked on the side of the road where I saw a full can or Red Bull hanging in a Tree - strange!! Followed the Mountain Bike track down and quickly found the clever hide. I am not sure I would ride down this one.
Thanks fo Nutcache for the hide.

Decided to do a few caches I have had on my Tom Tom for a while.

Found with Clarkey88 (eventually.....). Thanks for the cache. I liked the old Corona just down the hill - same as my first car! Speaking of cars, be careful of the roads around here, as my poor bumper can attest to
Found this after a while searching every square inch of the surrounding bush except the one part that had the cache. Lots of bike riders out today. Cache is in good condition, no swaps made. Thanks!

Found at 1915 hours, what a nice easy find, to take me to #300 caches. This was on the ground when I found it, but have re hidden it off the ground. I will notify the owner as to where it is now, did not move it very far at all, approx the width of the container.

Very easy find. I think it may have been moved from the original location. After finding the cache came home and read the hint. which is no longer true. Don't think this cache will last long as it was easily spotted.
Found this one after two attempts... mind you one was at 1030pm in the dark without a torch so i decided to attempt it again in the morning. Nice spot but i see what you mean about the track, although there are those kids working onthe track who found the cache and left a message so something must happen there!

Twenty-first of 23 finds in my assault on The Valley. Once again, my GPSr led me astray. It was pointing 15-20m into the bush, but before resetting my GPSr, I thought I'd check a likely-looking place nearby. I came up with the goods at 1615 It's no longer hidden where it was originally, apparently. The encrypted hint is no longer valid (I found this out after I had found it! ). I tried to replace it where it was intended, but I couldn't manage it. It was found by a muggle a few visits back, but to their infinite credit, they left it where they found it, and so I did also. I made no exchange. Thanks to Nutcache for the cache.
A nice easy one, it was out in the open. The last (rather amusing) entry was over a month ago, by a muggle, so I guess they didn't cover it up, but seriously, who comes up here anyway? I covered it a bit better. Thanks Nutcache.

Found by Mary & David at 1105. What? No 2km uphill walk? Very happy after Crooked Cache and Little Moria to have one that qualifies as a drive-by in these parts. Wonder whose car that is further down? Took Orioles pin, left super glue and a citrus peeler. Our thanks again to nutcache.
A lovely drive up the mountain, after some confusion we spotted the hidden track off the road. I stood at the top whilst the other half ventured down the trail, retrieving the cache quickly. It would love to see someone use the jump! It must be physically impossible. Whilst logging the cache i noticed about 50 tiny leeches standing up near my feet and sniffing in my direction - obviously they have good taste - but i wasn't about to give in to their pre-dinner hypnotosing dance and i hightailed it outta there. TNLN Thanks Nutcache!
This time drove up in 4WD. Parked just above cache location and found instantly - thanks Nutcache for following up on no-find.
After reading Cal & Ruth's log I went to check it out. The container was there but at a lower elevation and well covered over. Checked all inside was OK, put in an extra swap as it was a bit depleated. Also checked coordinates and altered them slightly.
Made mistake of starting from main (tarred) road and had loooong hike in 180-degree opposite direction before track did U-turn to join fire trail. Didn't find cache either -- though reading other logs suggests where it is (coords a bit out?). Headed down bike track to Geofreak's cache -- "initial steep downhill section" took well over an hour. Local resident was almost going to send out a search party, but gave us dinner instead when we eventually returned to our car.
Our second Nutcache cache for the afternoon. We would definitely not be attempting this trail on a Mountain Bike but there were pushbike tyre prints in the dirt . Very easy find

This was a first cache outing by Tutta and Zestaus, my hosts for this American visitor. Zestaus made the find. What a scary trail for a biker, and an even scarier trail for the car at the bottom!! I liked the fern trees in the area, we don't have them in Maryland. Watch out for Bull Ants! We found several crawling on us at the cache site. Luckily we didn't get bitten. You sure do have big ants in Australia.

The easyest find of the day. It was just sitting there in full view. Hid it under some leaves.

Did swap somthing.

Nice tight bit of parking for the amount of vehicles involved in winches and waterfalls, then add a couple of sightseers and some mountain bike riders and its a real party!!
Slow walk down the hill (yes, the queue started at the road by the time we arrived!) and arrived at GZ just in time to log the groups "Last to find", and to replace the cache in its resting place!

Our group at first weren't going to stop for this one as the hunger pangs were starting to be noticed. However as we got to GZ there was a party going on with the other group already there, so we stopped (actually there was no stopping BB2 in any case) and "found" it at 12.20pm, signed the log book and headed for the lunch area.

Met up with Da Bugs here, they had just found it. I remember standing right next to the cache & taking a bearing with my GPS. Only 10 metres to go said the GPS so off I trot down the hill. Big mistake, next time wait for the GPS to settle, it's harder to climb up hills than go down.
Ha Ha the GPS was kidding on this one.
Ha Ha the GPS was kidding on this one.
We were part of the second assault team for this cache (after Da Bugs had rehidden it) and soon were headed down the track. Our GZ had us at a tall dead tree, and Embi and Justin were soon debating how best to climb it - or whether the "you're kidding" meant it was hidden in the scrub beneath. As a couple of mountain-bikers started their descent, Da Bugs gave us a "warmer/colder" clue that soon put us in the right spot. Very clever hiding place!
As GeoJo mentioned our GPSrs all had us about 10 or so metres further down the track thinking it was somewhere else. A very well hidden cache.
A car nearby also made us wonder how it got there... hmmmmm... an event we hadn't heard about perhaps?

A 1st to find for team "da bugs" but only because we were heading in the opposite direction to the group to try and "cache" up with them due to our late start.
