This was my last geocache in Sydney. I noted it had been archived recently. I do like old caches - so I decided to see if I could go and find it still.
Thanks, Google Maps, for asking me to park on the M2. You're a winner -.- I soon found where I should be and followed the path down and around toward GZ.
What an interesting area this is - I love looking at infrastructure from different angles.. and this was all in a beautiful area.
I soon found the prize safe and sound. The cache was indeed damp - but still very signable. Sad to see it get archived - but I am glad I was able to get it. TFTC bainsworld

Out and about in the afternoon. The focus was on getting one more D/T combination for my matrix and one older Jasmer challenge (hidden months) cache. This cache was one of the remaining hidden months I need to find and was conveniently near the train line I often use anyway.
At first I was aiming to start from a bit further out and then track back towards the train station. but given how the paths go here, I ended up intentionally going past this and been forced to return back so I can get to the first cache. Well, while already near this, why not stop and secure this one.
A look here and another there. Oh, what's that??? A very logical spot for this.
Despite the cover, the contents were wet. I left the logbook outside of the bag with the hopes that it'll dry a little while it seems to be an unseasonably dry autumn and winter. Otherwise all good here. TFTC, Bainsworld!

A daytrip to Sydney to find some oldies. I was wandering around in circles trying to find this one in the damp forest. I had a second and deeper look in a likely spot and soon CIH. TFTC.
Happy to find this cache. Ticked another off my target list. Signed the wet log .... well you know where I found it! TFTC bainsworld
A nice cache on a muggy summer morning.
After parking at the end of Austral Ave i headed down the track.
Upon reaching the GZ i started checking out possible hiding spots but it wasnt until i expanded my search that i ended up getting the CIH.
I found the coords to be about 10m off.
The log is a little damp but still writable.
A nice little piece of bushland in the middle of Sydney that could very well have been left to go bad.
Thanks.

I was in the area finding "The Lost Civilisation" when I noticed this cache nearby that was hidden in 2004! Given I was so close I couldn't pass up on a bit of an oldie!
Followed the top path to GZ but when I got there I figured I could of just taken the path I was already on under the bridge! Ahh well came back that way.
A quick find here with the hint, one of the logs in the cache is ruined but luckily there is another backup log
Thanks!

For three weeks I am in this place before it continues in this wonderful country. Today I was able to find the box on a nice walk . Many thanks for laying out and greetings from Frankfurt / Germany to bainsworld says CinPa

I had loaded several caches in the Pennant Hills area into the GPSr, but wasn't quite sure which ones I would get to. After picking up some information for a nearby night cache, and exploring the starting point of that cache, I decided to walk along this track for a bit and see what was down this way.
As I was making my way along this lovely bush trail I noticed that this particular cache was coming up, so I decided to try find this one before heading back to the car. It wasn't long before the needle on the compass pointed towards a likely hiding place, and on closer inspection I spotted the container. Not difficult at all.
I added my name to the list of those who had come before, and poured out the little bit of water that had accumulated in the container. Good thing the log book wasn't soaked, so I was able to sign it.
Then everything went back as I had found it, and I returned towards the golf course with the aim of finding some other caches around that area.

Tftc - not a place for the geoboy to rummage around. Long day coming to an end with only one we were stumped on.
Took a walk from the end of Austral ave , not sure if I walked on private property but no one challenged me so all ok.
Found the feature but one end is full of junkies materials. Other end CIH. Thanks for the cache.

Have had this TB for too long and as the geodog and I were walking here decided to drop off.
Located at 3:40. This area is a potential cache wonderland. So many hiding spots along the vast expanse here. TFTC!
Driving through Sydney to get to Bathurst i wanted to stop here to get this older cache. Parked near the golf course and walked down listening to all the water dragons scuttling out of the way. TFTC
Took a while gps jumped everywhere but using our geo instincts and clue soon found it
I entered the reserve from the suggested street and followed the path.
It was a great walk
When I reached the over head road my iPhone went wild and had me leaving the path.
I spent far too long wandering around in circles under there.
Contractors appeared and we had a chat about the "unsavoury characters" who spend time under there at night before the workers headed off.
Finally I spotted something that matched the hint and I had CIH
I continued along the path towards Glady's seat

Stopped off on my way back home from the Amateur Radio NSW (HAM Radio) bi-monthly Trash & Treasure sale at Quarry Road Dural, to find this one. It had been a fun filled morning of HAM radio junk scrounging, and a nice BBQ lunch with lots of friendly chit chat, but now it was time to collect some more caches on the homeward journey. This was the 11th of 12 finds for the day.
After finding "Gladys' Seat", this was to be my next cache stop. Parked the geomobile at the southern end of Burns Road, and then followed the bush track all the way to GZ.
The GPSr reception was suffering from the overshadowing motorway above but, thanks to the very helpful hint, I quickly uncovered the hide and had CIH. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC bainsworld.

My 3rd cache for the day. May plan is to do some old school and close of some months of find caches. Let's see how I go!!!
Not quiet a park and grab for this one, but it was a nice short walk. Waze was telling to park on the M2.. mmmmmm. Found the container was wet the the plastic bag was working well for protecting the log. TFTC

I spent a lot of time on this one...on the OTHER SIDE of the creek. As the song says, "Don't cross the river, etc." Also, don't pay the ferryman! The cache was waterlogged, but the log was dry inside the bag. TFTC

After a disappointing DNF nearby, came here to try my luck. Thanks to a good clue, made a quick find. Cache contents are quite damp but log book is in good nick.

Also found the syringes, but then in the other end was the cache. Thanx for this old cache.
it looks like they are making a nice new walking track in this area. , We arrived at geo zone and looked in the wrong end and really wished we hadn't as it has lots of syringes in it. went to the other end and found the cache. it is wet inside and luckily someone had recently placed some paper to sign . thanks for the cache bainsworld tnln sl
Tftc, my caching senses directed me straight to it. Tipped the water out but didn't have a towel to wipe it. Added the only spare log I was carrying.
Very cool place to visit don't know how many times I have driven down the m2 and never thought about what's below. Emptied container that was full of water
it is nice to see some older caches still around, a great spot for a cache but the log was wet, maybe the next cacher can bring a new log so this cache can live on. thanks for the cache.
Found at 5:21pm.
Today was a big day of caching after a great Xmas day with the family yesterday. What better thing to do on Boxing Day than rack up a mad amount of caches, you may be thinking well... cricket? Yes, you may be right and therefore I managed to sneak in a bit of both.
We began the journey in Silverdale where we stayed the night at my parents place, after a couple of finds there we worked our way back home to Ryde and from there I continued the journey without my partner in crime Nush89, who was keen to chill out at home after a tiring day yesterday.
Over the day I found 11 caches with a 100% find rate, it's always good avoiding DNF's, they certainly can eat into your time when caching.
'Beehide' was my seventh find for the day. I needed this cache to fill an empty slot in my Jasmer or 'Hidden Month' grid and given it wasn't far from home I thought I would give it a red hot crack. I arrived near the top of the trail in Beecroft where I made my way in towards the cache.
After a 10 minute jog/walk I found myself at GZ where I made a quick find. There were no muggles about on the trail but there were a couple walking on the other side of the M2. The view from under the freeway looking up is spectacular, it really makes you appreciate the huge scale on which such infrastructure is built.
I was unable to sign the log as it had a lot of water in there which I emptied out but it really just needs a more watertight container.
Thanks for the cache bainsworld and well done on keeping it active for over ten years.

[violet]I'm currently hitchhiking my way around the world and geocaching everywhere I go. My first stop was in Ireland where I spent a couple weeks touring the country. I then flew to London and spent a couple weeks touring the United Kingdom. From there I made my way through the tunnel and up to Amsterdam and then back down to Belgium. After that I headed for France. Then from there I headed to Portugal for a mega event that was happening. After that I headed for Denmark to attend another Mega event. I then made my way North into Sweden and then even further North to Norway. After that I proceeded to work my way back down South through Finland and then ferry hopped my way through a few of the islands to arrive back in Sweden. Next I made my way to Germany for another Mega event and then back to the Netherlands for still another mega event before heading for Luxembourg. After that the next stop along my journey was Switzerland. I then made a quick detour up to Belgium to grab a July 2000 geocache I had overlooked before making my way to Croatia passing through Austria and Slovenia along the way. After that my route took me East to Serbia and then through Romania into Moldova. I then couldn't resist going North and crossing into the Ukraine. After that I began heading South passing through Romania once again. I then passed through Bulgaria as I raced for Turkey in order to catch a flight to Australia timing it so that I could attend a mega event happening there. After that I traveled along The Great Ocean Road and up to Adelaide before making my way West to Perth. I then headed back to Port Augusta and made my way North to Alice Springs. Then I turned around and headed south and then east towards Sydney detouring into Canberra along the way.
Thank you so much for placing this geocache!

Found this cache but wasnt able to write my name in there because the logbook was so wet! Nice location though. TFTC
Performed a bit of maintenance for the owner. Dried out the container and took out all swapsies which were saturated, muddy and even rusty if they were metallic. Put in lots of new swapsies for the next lot of geokids.
What a great walk with the geokids and geodog on a damp Sunday arvo. Third time lucky finding this one. Loved the old track, jumping the river and seeing how high the recent flooding went! Bet this place is nice and cool in summer but it's pretty damp at the moment.
Signed the wet log but had no paper to replace it with.
Could the next cachers please bring some paper and a plastic bag!
Found it. Trouvé. 見つけた.

Can confirm that the cache is waterlogged. I don't think the CO is active anymore either.
I had to take a super long route to get here but I needed the exercise anyway. Nice little track and a pretty quick and easy find. TFTC
Streak day #174 - I decided to try for this cache because of its month hidden date. It wasn't too far off my route whilst going from work to ice hockey training. I parked at the end of Burns Rd South and managed to find a path towards the GZ. Walking down the first part of the path it seemed like it would be a pretty place, but I couldn't see much by torchlight. Closer to the GZ my GPS led me astray, I admired the massive underside of the road whilst I was there. But it didn't take me long to get back on track and spot a likely hide. Got the wrong end to start with but that was quickly corrected and I got my hands on the cache. The log is still damp, but I was able to sign it anyway. Thanks for bringing me to this interesting spot. Cheers.
After a long walk in some nearby bush I drove and parked as close as I could on Burns Road South. It was bin day and I hoped the garbage truck would not come while I went to make this find as it was a very small street with not much turning around space (or parking space). I ran along the fence line and marveled at the underside of the M2. Though it did not help with the GPSr accuracy. I first searched the wrong end of the hiding spot before coming around and making a quick find. The container is old and not water tight at all, so the log was soaked beyond repair. I did somehow manage to sign it though. Hope it can get fixed up as it is an old cache that I needed for the hidden month.
Thanks for the walk, engineering views, unique hidden month and cache!

On a bit of a miserable afternoon, I decided to grab a couple Jasmer caches (ie to fill in gaps in my month/year calendar). With the rain falling down it was quite an unusual experience to walk under the M3!
Spent some time at the wrong end, but given the trails, I don't think that I am the first Like others have said, logs are wet.

Poor GPSR down here resulting in me checking all other possibilities and spied in the last place to look. Loved the walk down here, sooo green! Thanks Bainsworld, probably should replace container to one that is watertight.
The day was really wet. The ground was wet. The trees were wet. The grass was wet. The track was wet. I was drenched. Yet still i was determined to find this cache.
Unfortunately the inside of the cache we wet too. A new log and a more water proof container recommended.
thanks for the cache.

I'm sure this was once a lovely piece of bush land before the M2 went through. Quick find once I picked the right end. Lid off container and doesn't close properly. All logs damp and pretty grotty. Glad I had my gloves. TFTC. No TB in situ.

Came in from Welham St past the scout hut and followed a track I knew well to GZ.
Cache easily found but log is still really wet. Signed and rehid, took geocoin.
We used to come down here to the creek, long before the M2 for Nature Study with the school. It was a lovely bush corridor that developed on the land reserved for the freeway. Except for the construction above it looks like its pretty much re-established back to what it was originally like.
There's lots of good tracks here, well worth a walk.

Found again while on a bush walk. The log book is really wet and needs to be replaced. Probably needs a new container. Dropped off a TB
Although the container is still in very good condition I can't say the same for the contents. Everything is covered in mould. Needs a good clean out and a new log sheet that is protected in a ziplock bag.
Well what a experience this was. Such a beautiful area. More in that experience will be reviewed in a hide to be planted during my bush walk to gz. I want to thank the co for placing this cache where it was such a cool, spot indeed I never knew there was tracks into this area just thought it would have always been blocked off.
Hat a different view and experience to the nearby Sydney Geocache Relocated cache nearby. Took some time exploring the area on this very very hit evening was dripping perspiration by the time I made it to the car. Found the cache with ease once my exploring was complete. SL and replaced the camo. Log is damp but very writable. Covered in a yellow type of mould so wash your hands after touching it to be safe.
Fave pointed for the location and the adventure from where I made my entry into the gz location.

Geocache # 981.
Found on Monday, 11th November 2013 at 6:21 PM.
Conditions: raining.
Current streak # 103 days.
Today's finds 1 of 1.
I headed out straight after knocking off work for the day to keep the current streak alive and went for a drive up the road to tackle this one. I parked the car at the end of Burns Road South and walked along the fence line to the head of the track that leads to the M2. A slightly different perspective of the motorway than the Sydney Geocache Relocated! cache further down the road. Once at GZ, it was a quick find and I soon had the CIH before signing the log and replacing the cache. It is a shame this one is no longer being maintained but I am glad it is still here to be found, TFTC bainsworld.
I had brought a fresh log with me (after reading the previous posts about the log being wet) to sign and place in the cache but the contents need to be dried out when there is a break in the weather.

Found this quite easily today. Came in the long way from Kirkham St, which was a really nice bush walk. I should have got the bike out of the car as the path was fairly clear. The log is a total mess and all the contents ruined. There is no way I was going to leave Sunny the Budgie in that Mess! I signed the outside of the log anyway and then went for a walk under the road. Strange to have such a huge construction looming over what would have once been a tranquil and beautiful creek. Thanks bainsworld for the cache, but no thanks to 'progress' for overshadowing another piece of nature...

Pleasant walk to GZ - even detoured to walk the path under the M2 - which I have never done before. A few muggles around - some walked past before I found the cache and some after...
As mentioned by a number of recent logs, the cache is saturated. Could just barely sign log.
Some of the contents are rusted, and definitely no trackable.
I note the CO has not been around since January - so I suspect no maintenance is coming from that direction.

On holiday and had to come this way for a meeting. Had a quick look but no find today.
22/06/13. 07:05 AM. Cache #706. Current streak: 286 days. I parked in Burns Road and followed a track that ran parallel to the M2, heading east; I was on my way to the final location of a nearby puzzle cache, when I decided to see what other caches were in the area. This one popped up 50m away, so I decided to grab it along the way. Made the find, but as others have said, the log book was far too soggy to sign. TFTC }:)
Took all my nephews to find this one. Needs maintenance as it is all badly moisture affected
My new resolution. I am going to carry logs and pens to be left in cache that no-one is maintaining!
This one was a nice walk in and an easy find, but the logbook was like a sponge it was so wet.
I would post a Needs Maintenance, but it will be ignored!?!
TFTC anyway.

Attempted this one twice today to keep the streak going. Got it on the second try.
First time was in the morning, lots of construction, waited for a bit but looked too dodgy going in, so returned in the afternoon.
Lots of large orb weaver spiders along the path, and as it was getting dark, had to carefully dodge them.
Scout Hall had some sort of music event it seems, what a great spot for a Scout Hall!
Found cache in easy spot (Was concerned that the path is closed, but it isn't really), signed and headed off. Very wet cache, not in good condition, requires a proper dry out.
Thanks for the cache, fantastic area!

Second cache of the day. Absolutely pouring with rain! Cache and logbook very wet. Were not able to write an entry in the book as it was very wet.
It was pouring rain, so I got soaking wet, but it was an easy find just off the track!
Found it. Has been recently waterlogged. No trackable to be found. Perhaps people need to update these when they take trackables out.

I wandered down the wide paths from Beecroft, with only the dull roar of the freeway as my company. Once at GZ I saw a geopath to a likely place, where the container was indeed sitting comfortably. As has been stated by others the log is very damp, but can still be written on (albeit not with the pen inside), while the remaining contents could handle some TLC.

Found it late in the day, light was fading fast but a nice easy find. The log is very wet, I've put the lot in a plastic bag so hopefully it will dry out. No coin in the cache.
Despite the proximity of the M2 and its associated roadworks, this was a nice walk though some pleasant bushland I was previously unfamiliar with. Muggle construction workers were operating their machinery across the creek from the hide. The cache is fairly wet but I was able to sign the log. TNLN TFTC
Nearest cache to home found it on 3RD try. Should have seen it first time. Good hide. Bit wet.
Found it, photos are no longer accurate as container is quite different. Very wet.
Cache must be leaking badly. Emptied water out again. Logs was just dry enough to sign. Tftc
Just enough time this afternoon for one more walk in the mud. Managed to take a few wrong turns but arrived at GZ eventually. Had more troubles at GZ because of the clouds and maybe the motorway but eventually found the sodden object thanks to the name. TFTC
We why is it when people say this is easy it always turns out harder. First it started with the TomTom wanting to park us on the M2 to search for the cache. Then after trying another street it had not track. Once on a track it was a nice little walk but you can certainly hear the M2. At GZ we had to keep an eye out for workers and using the phone GPSr we had the wrong end of the stick. Once corrected we did make a quick find at the right end.
The cache had a bit of water in it and the log it wet but wrightable. Drained out the water, SL and repalced. TFTC

Well we got to GZ, spent some time chatting with some interested Muggles, then Harro located the Hide and salvaged the cache. It is not in a good state. Somehow the lid had been removed and the cache came out second best to Mother Nature. Harro did some minor maintenance but it needs some real TLC to get it back to it's former glory.

Quick find on the way home from a work meeting at MQU. Fascinating to see the workings going on under the M2. The log is very damp, but writeable.
