I was here in February to venture down The Grill, but I didnt look for any other geocaches. This one fills in a blank spot on my Jasmer challenge, so I came by here again today on my way from Canberra to Mittagong. It was a lovely day for a drive and a walk. I visited a few trackable items that Im taking around the country with me. Thanks for the cache, Team SWAG!
Visiting new places and enjoying some fine autumnal weather. A quick find as we explored the park.
A fun day exploring Bungonia with the irrepressible StarsAlign and SocialClimber for company. No problems resolving this older traditional (with multi/puzzle tendencies), and the cache was quickly located at GZ. Container lid is cracked but log OK.Great views from the nearby lookout. Thanks, Team SWAG!
Yet another fabulous adventure with SocialClimber and mountainsbeyond. Loved the views from the lookout nearby - stunning! Enjoyed the puzzle and the humour. TFTC Team SWAG.
Mountainsbeyond, StarsAlign and I had a great day to match the fact that it was 29 February. We leaped down cave holes, leaped over cliffs and for some contrast climbed trees. The views from the lookout near GZ are spectacular. Thanks for the fun and adventure. TFTC
This weekend I visited Bungonia for the Chill @ the Grill caving event. We had an excellent time, camped the night and found a load of caches both here and in Goulburn. On the second day we went on a series of bushwalks, and this was one of them. The lookout at the end here was the best all day. This odd trad that acted like a puzzle was found rather quickly once I discovered what it was all about.Signed the log! Thanks for this one
OCW EverestHigh, Brewmaker, 4Rods, Martin Cousins, and Its_Dozzie (BIMME4). TFTC Team SWAG!
#13370 13:40A great day out to Bungonia National Park for the 'Chill @ The Grill event'. Together with 4Rods, Martin Cousins, MaxAdventurer, Everest High and Brewmaker we drove down from Sydney. In total I ticked off 51 caches, wich is not bad for a day out!Caches were logged for our group as BIMME4.It was only once at the published coordinate we started our search but ended up empty handed. Reading the description, it turned out some additional maths had to be done. Should't this be a multi in this case?Cache was found and after enjoying the views from the nearby platform we continued to Troglodyte #3.TFTC Team SWAG.
An Event being hosted in the Bungonia NP was a brilliant excuse to finally visit. It was also a fantastic opportunity to catch up with Bonfire7. We found about a dozen caches, with several finds being made as part of a large caching group. Thanks to all cache owners for their hides!Ducked into the bush and spotted a suspicious pile of rocks. Container has weathered and is slightly cracked. Unfortunately, we didn't have a replacement with us. TFTC
What an amazing spot, and even better views if you just follow the path to the end. A geocaching day out with Brewmaker, Its_Dozzie, MaxAdventurer, Martin Cousins and EverestHigh. Log signed with the abbreviated signature BIMME4. TFTC. Gets a FP from us.
Initially arrived at GZ (or so I thought) and was a bit confused, what to do, where? A closer look at the description and the penny dropped, I guess old caches operate by different rules. A quick trek to GZ and soon found the cache quickly. There's a crack in the lid but the log is nice and dry. TFTC Team SWAG!
A great big geocaching day out with Brewmaker, Its_Dozzie, MaxAdventurer, Martin Cousins, EverestHigh and 4Rods, SL for the day as BIMME4. TFTC Team Swag
When in doubt, read the description. After reading realising this was a field puzzle, we made our way to GZ for a quick find. Nice views at WP1. TFTC
Quite a tricky traditional to do as at first we were searching in the wrong place without knowing. Read further into this cache and saw where we needed to investigate
Making our way today, from Canberra to Wollongong, we decided to stop for a detour to this area. We will definitely be back to explore further, however today, after making our way to the lookout, we continued on this small field puzzle and found a lovely Hide in a beautiful location. Thanks Team SWAGDomsky
Found It!Listed as a traditional cache, looks like a multi cache, but is actually a puzzle cache. Go figure. But whatever it really is, I found it! Great views from the nearby lookout!TFTC
Found and signed dsd or darksidedan or AB or Adventure Boys to save space in the logbook. Thanks for the cache and the Adventure.
Initially thought this cache would be missing when we arrived at the listed coordinates, as the walkway looks very new and the surrounding bush has been cleared! But then we started to read the description and realised this was a rare multi-cache that is disguised as a traditional! Just old cache things.....! So we solved the multi which had us scratching our heads at first, and soon had coordinates in a spot that was much safer, away from recent constructions! Upon arrival the cache was quickly located! Many thanks Team SWAG
A quick find after reading the description and solving this trad. Great views. TFTC
With GreyHams we set out for a short trip out towards Goulburn, with us both having to be back for different commitments in the afternoon. Starting the day with a virtual is always a great start to the day, we added in a CC event, AL's, a visit into Bungonia National Park and some great caches, oldies and Earthcaches are always good to stop for!
A nice loop back through Tarago and Bungendore with a few short walks along the way, thanks for your cache!
Great oldie worth stopping for and the views are just as good too!

Aquilus1 & I were time limited today with both of us needing to be back in CBR in time for other commitments. But a nice easy enough little loop was available starting with a new virtual, a CC event, labs and then some cool oldies & Earthcache on the way back.
Thank you everyone for placing

I'm surprised this isn't logged more frequently but I'm happy to bag a rarely-seen cache (8 months since last log) this one would be difficult to pinpoint if you were just using your phone instead of a proper GPS! Thankfully I didn't walk off the edge of the cliff, TFTC!
Found at 7.15pm. We came up to the lookout to see the sunset. Stunning views. We didn't see anything flying, but did find the cache in good condition.

Some spectacular views from the lookouts here. Will certainly be back to do the walks. Had to wait until the only muggle on site moved on (an old Irishman who cycled here and told us a dozen Covid stories) before we could search. With no success I turned to the logs that suggested a careful reading of the description would help. And so it did . At GZ I did a lot of sweating and swatting spider webs but finally had CIH. Smudged my mark and was glad to tick off this oldie.
Thanks for the cache. Had to read it a couple of times to work it out! All is well with the cache. Spent some time admiring the view at the nearby lookout.
Found with isopeda and Joolay on a cache run to Bungonia. Cool spot to find an oldie.
Thanks for hiding this cache Team SWAG

Another cache that met two of our criteria of being in the first ten years of Caching well under the first five years and a regular size so was on the hit list if we made it to the area
With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache Team SWAG
The following TBs visited for the distance - Hawkesbury Tiger, 2011- 2019 NSW geocoins, Area 51 Tag, Cache In Trash Out Geocoin, Cache In Trash Out Tag, CITO Micro Geocoin, dirty Black Juke, Four Elements Geocoin, Mary Hyde's compass, Optical Illusion Geocoin, Spindoc Bob Memorial Geocoin, Trackable Building Brick, Wales Flag, Wheel of Caching Geocoin

Another trip into the ACT in order to collect some more smiles with TARDIS 0061 and phlphotos. On the way we also collected a number of traditional, mystery and wherigo caches paying particular attention to early caches. With our 5m telescopic TOTT in tow, all containers and logs found along the way are in good condition. Thanks for the cache Team SWAG.

Wow what a grandmammy of a cache! We had visited this lookout in the morning but I got distracted and forgot about the cache. After doing the red track we returned later in the afternoon to make the find. A short stroll off the path once we figured out the puzzle - got a chuckle out of us. Thanks for keeping this one alive!
Just WoW!

This was a little tricky, but when I reread the description, I realised I had the final co-ords already. TFTC
After driving down from western Sydney and admiring the view with Adventure-Fox
We quickly counted the flying Troglodytes and added it to the co-ordinates in the description and wahla, we found it!
Thank you for the adventure!

I have been wanting to come check out this area for years now, and so today I set out on an adventure with BarberBlackSheep with the intentions of finding this cache. At first nothing made sense, this was mostly due to the fact that I don't read things properly I just prefer to wing it and so I just went with it until I figured it out and spotted the strategically placed rocks and made the find. Thank you for placing this cach here, was a great lookout. Insane views, feels like you're in another world!
Thanks for the adventure

Visiting Bungonia with whafe and this time I remembered to save some easy caches for offline use. We figured out what we were meant to do quite quickly but I wasn't quite happy about having to go off the trail in a national park. Thank you for the cache though, it was a great lookout!

After a bit of searching, re-reading other finds and going deeper, found in good condition in a secluded spot, acting like a troglodyte. TFTC.
Second try at this cache, but this time took the hint and found it in good condition. TFTC
A day out with the geoson after a play at the aquatic centre in town. Plan was to hit a few outstanding caches goulburn-marulan-bungonia all which all had favourite points. Perfect! The weather held off until we left our last cache of day. Miserable but always like an afternoon drive and cache.
Second visit to bungonia national park. Not sunny and windy like last time but cool and overcast. Found cache fairly as it was exposed. Thanks Team SWAG for more enjoyment of this area.

I dropped by here on my way back to Canberra after competing in the Australian Mountain Bike Orienteering champs at Wingello. Easily found after admiring the views - equally as spectacular as the grand canyon, but bush covered and on a smaller scale. TFTC.

Here for the Australian MTBO Champs. Would have liked more time to look around, great place.
14421. Found during an afternoon meander with minniek.
Heading out in the glorious weather aiming for a few caches. Next stop for the day. I've never been in here before, and since minniek has the cache already I wandered in, enjoyed the views, then plunged in for the find. Glad the coords are accurate !! Signed the log, replaced the cache, and headed off to the next one.
Thanks Team SWAG !!

Headed out for some caching whilst my kids were caving. This was number 2 for the afternoon. Had to wait for some muggles to leave so took some scenic shots. Then went back to the posted coords to consider where the cache could be. So glad I re-read the details otherwise I would have been going around in circles. Went bush and came across a few (fallen) obstacles but came up with the goods.
No probs finding this cache today but I just didnt quite understand it,All good to make a find but cache not at posted coords so its more like a single offset multi then a traditional,

Sorry for the VERY late log.. have been getting a little forgetful. Found on a hilariously fun night run with cstebbings and some other great mates after celebrating our caving clubs birthday. Will have to come back in the daylight to tackle some of the others tftc
Easy find on a Saturday night during a caving weekend. Had to make sure to avoid the cliff edges in the darkness.
Around Bungonia for the day for the first time since doing a caving course back in 1981. We'd been through Grill Cave earlier in the day and then did the walks out to the various lookouts. At this lookout I actually had some phone signal so looked up what was around here and this was a mere 40m away (once we did the changes to this pseudo multi cache. A bit of a wander through the scrub before making the find. Signed as the first since December 2014 although there's an online log here from this month - may have been elsewhere in the logbook. Replaced in its camo.
On the way back to the car park I heard a cracking to my right and my mind dismissed it as a lizard but only when the geoteen exclaimed did I turn my head and spot a one metre brown snake threatening me before heading off. I could easily have been bitten - I've always kept a look out for snakes but this was the closest I've come to being nipped. Lucky as it was a long walk back to the car.
Thanks!

I brought a few friends in to find what I thought would be an easy cache in an interesting location to introduce them to caching. Unfortunately the Magellan GPS doesn't display the cache description (because of the yellow box it is in?) Anyway, the clue made no sense without the rest of the info, and we couldn't find anything at the posted co-ordinates (of course I realise why now).
So I spent $7 to get in and my friends just think I'm weird and can't work out why I cache. Big sigh!
Hopefully it will be an easy find next time I'm in the area.

#1595 - Yep M wants to come back and do the Slot Canyon walk but on our AroundOz challenge, we're just going for the big ticket items, next time M. ( NB:Took a while with the counting, but we got there in the naughty end.) tftc.
Don't agree this is an Traditional cache. Its multi for sure.
Anyway the calculation was easy and the views amazing.
Worth visiting!!!

Its been many many years since I was down here, and today presented the opportunity (and the weather) to go and have another look. Arrived a bit late to do any major walking, so did caches instead. This is the best lookout that we went to with great views down the gorge.
New cache and log found OK in an easy location. Thanks for the cache in a great spot, and thanks NS for fixing. Grabbed the PT.

This little cluster of four caches has for some reason been in my "too hard" basket for ages, but while browsing around for something to tick off today on the calendar I realised that two of them didn't sound too difficult, with only the other two requiring lots of preparation or special equipment. From the description I wasn't sure if this one was actually in a cave or not, but headed out for a look. After going to the Lookdown lookout and reading some information boards I dutifully paid my $7 for the use of the park, chatted to the lady at the visitor's centre and filled out the logbook with my plans for the afternoon. In the end this was pretty easy - almost a strange kind of multi rather than a traditional. But anyway a quick find after admiring the view. I replaced the container as it had become brittle in the sun and broken, with almost everything inside water damaged. I'll hang onto the logbooks for a while in case the CO wants them, but most pages are stuck together anyway. The laminated info sheets are a little scruffy but still useful and a couple of small toys survived. So I put all those into the new container with a new logbook, a new pencil and one of my pathtags. For future seekers, this is quite an easy one, not too far from a walking path, and doesn't actually require you to enter a cave. Very scenic area here - TFTC!

Took a quick look around here for this one but was unable to turn up the goods. The views close by were defintely worth the visit though.
Found with PTC on a caving trip.. we earlier did 18-61 I think it's called.. great cave with 30m abseil.. After we did acoustic pot which I can highly recommend..
If this cache had an owner who was still active, I'd post a needs maint log.. could a local replace the container and investigate adoption? Its a great spot for a cache, and its a shame to see these older caches get archived.. Thanks for the cache..

I found this one with Spladem. He had a phone on him so we were able to get the full description this time and locate the hide. It is quite broken though still there. Needs maintaining.
Found during a nice afternoon walk. Unfortunately the cache is in a very poor state and urgently needs attention. Well worth attending to as this is a great spot for a cache.

I flew up to Sydney to come down here and go caving with some mates for the weekend. An amazing trip underground though no luck in finding the cache. As i don't use a phone, i load all my caches when i go on trips into a Pocket Query and then onto my GPS. Looking at the details for the cache i was able to see the recent logs, hints and the coordinates for it. But the description came up as a big long black square. Which made it impossible for me to find this cache.
As i thought it was a Trad. I searched the area and had no luck. When i arrived home just before i checked up the page online and found it is actually a Multi Cache. As the first location is not where it is hidden.
It also came up like this on the other Troglodyte Cache in the area. So both were unable to be found on this trip.

Found with slowfox. It does need maintenance as the lid was broken and the box slacking wet.
NB. Box lid broken and container full of water so we could not sign the log. Sorry, we had no spare boxes with us.
Sorry for the late log- i was going through my GPS and found out i had not logged this one. Found with 1st Keiraville scouts during our caving weekend at Bungonia. TFTC!
Our for our Troops Rock Camp with DRT and the Stars and this was our cache for the day after some abseiling and caving. We arrived at 'GZ' and worked out where we really needed to be and then made a relatively quick find. As others have said though the cache lid is destroyed and the contents soggy.
Then, after finding DRT's GPSr we were off back to camp. TFTC

Cache #1 for Today.
Up for the Rock Camp, JUSOJARA, Diamantina Stars, and myself all needed a cache for the day. So this one looked good. After driving up to the GZ while the other scouts where busy we made a nice quick find... Then I dropped my GPS so we had to spend another 3 or 4 mins looking for it.
The cache container is ruined as mentioned by the previous finder. Me got some names on the log but the cache needs replacing.

Completed with the 1st Keiraville scouts as a morning activity on our caving weekend. What a great lookout and magnificent views. We watched a pair if wedge tail eagles circle over the gorge. What a great spot, do thanks for your cache team SWAG.
This one certainly needs some owner intervention or maybe the next finder could swap the container. It'd be a shame to see this cache disappear.
In the area doing some caving with SES friends. I took some time out from the caves to do a few local caches.
This one had me stumped for some time as I seen the traditional symbol and didnt read the description so at the posted coords I turned the place upside down for no find. It wasnt till I read the cache page that i realised this cache was a multi.
Once at the right GZ the cache was found. I scribed on the ruined contents, but this one is in desperate need of some TLC.
Thanks

Lots of bush regeneration taking place here which will inpact on GZ. suggest some CO intervention due to the condition of the cache and maybe check out the location. Love the views arround the gorge..TFTC
Found this cache , container broken and full of water, all contents ruined. Everything will need replacing. Cheers
Been this way today and done several caches, what an amazing place, cache need attention. TFTC
Dragging a bunch of my Scouts around to find a suitable place for a Scout's Own and decided to try for this as well. Finding caches is a lot simpler when you have a troop of energetic 12 year olds gunning for it!

We stopped here for a bit of a break to enjoy the view on our trip home from a scooter club getaway to Moss Vale. Zita checked her phone, saw there was reception and figured it was worth checking to see if there was anything nearby. This one was less than 80m away so a very pleasant surprise. We were with friends who had never heard of geocaching before, so they enjoyed the quick hunt with us. As other finders have mentioned, the container is broken and needs replacing - we will log a separate entry for maintenance. We managed to sign a very wet log. Thanks for the surprise cache!
TFTC, Lid broken and everything is wet. Used a pen to leave log reference.
