Ah, well, it had a good run and provided some amusement.
For those who never got to it, there was a rounded Y-shaped pipe holding up a tree branch and the first waypoint was inside a cap on top of one end of the pipe (we added a cap to both sides as there weren't any originally.)
Many thanks to Mordor&andre for extending its life!
This is a lovely little park and deserves a cache, so we hope someone takes the opportunity to do something interesting with it.

Sad to report that the trusses that supported the waypoint are no longer.... therefore this cache has really lost its point. Cache container has been removed.

Heading to Christchurch in 2 weeks, maybe, hopefully, will find time to resurrect. Please don't archive till a week after Easter.
Looked around on the 1st of January but had no luck.. ran into another group of geocachers.. neat park other wise..
Well, the first waypoint is sort of the main point of this cache, with the GZ just to have something larger than a micro, so I think this one might've come to an end...
If anyone's keen to spend a few dollars and a little time to resurrect it, we'd be happy to adopt it out to you!
Otherwise, this lovely little park could always use a new cache when this one's archived.

What a mission this one turned into After the kids checked out the playground, we were off to find the cache, only to find WP1 full of muggle children. Sat on the grass nearby to see if they moved on, which they did after a few minutes. A quick search, and the hideyhole for the WP was obvious, but completely empty (in fact both of them were!) After striking out at a previous cache .. we were guttered! Jnr B decided he wanted to "write down all the info" on a nearby plaque, so Mr & Mrs sat down to await his return. After a few minutes, decided to give Jnr the hurry up, but Mrs B had to have "one more look - just in case!" ... while she was re-looking, Mr B was trying hard to hide his impatience, when he suddenly spotted something on the ground some metres away - the left over remnants of WP1 ... and the co-ords were still in one piece inside ... YAY YAY YAY ... (have hidden the container & will email cache owner) - off to the final, which was found with no problem - till it came to putting it back - hadn't read the previous log and definitely a wasp nest where the cache is hidden - Mrs B quickly put it back as best we could (without getting stung - phew!) .. have never been so pleased to claim a smiley TFTC
This one went well, up to the point of actually replacing the cache that is. Nobody around at the listed coords, and a quick find (and I worked out what the title means). Then a relatively easy find at GZ, though my GPS wanted me to go to a different spot. I'd replaced the cache and was carefully covering it, when a swarm of bees erupted, and bit me on both hands. A couple of milliseconds and several expletives later, I was several metres away, and so was my GPS, though it had travelled in a completely different direction. As I contemplated the scene, another bee that had been sitting on my jumper decided to have a go at my arm, so I now have three itchy souvenirs of my visit... I decided that the cache was as covered as it was going to be, and got the hell out of there.

#460 (2/3 on a Sunday afternoon). Ingenious hide for WP1, quickly found. Reception not so good at final, so after a while decoded hint and soon had cache in hand.
This is a great time of year to do park multis, the gardens are looking spectacular.
This park is a surprise as it looks quite small from the road then opens out into a large area. Great WP1!
At final, GPS was all over the place, but pointed everywhere except the cache hiding place! Also we weren't sure if we were looking for another WP or the final. Soon found after hint decoded.

Had to wait a while because young muggles were playing around WP1, eventually their parenting unit called them, so our way was clear. 2nd WP was quick find.

Relatively muggle-free today, allowing quick and easy grab of WP1. The actual cache eluded myself, WoolfieNZ and her hubby for quite some time. Our two units were in agreement it was in an entirely different spot about 6m away, which also agreed with the clue. So we spent ages hunting about in the wrong place!
Finally, Woolfie's DH wandered off for a 'bigger picture' look and spotted a bit of plastic edging visible from a few metres away. Sigh.
Found a home for Sideshow Bob TB - a cache big enough to put him in!

Found with One-Fang, and the eagle-eyes of my D.H. who stepped back and widened the search. Co-ords on both our GPSr's were about 6 meters out and aiming a quite the wrong spot.
Nice hiding spot once we found it.

Had to have 2 goes at finding the cache proper as the place was swarming with muggles and their dogs. Great little park!
Nice to meet lyndas'lot at the site. Thought the person I was walking towards looked a bit suspicious and I fancied I spied a well hidden GPSr as she walked away. When I saw her loitering a short distance away I thought I'd approach her and suggest that we had a "common goal". Sure enough, we did. Conversely, if I had been wrong I would probably have been arrested. It was actually Lynda who found the cache when we both started searching. I found the waypoint a year ago but dipped out on the cache. After this I read an earlier log note about the cache being 10m or so to the north of GZ. So tried that on this visit and bingo.
An early start, but frustrating... Then met another keen soul - UNCLE. Cracked it! Disturbed initially by muggle and dog - perhaps the same one as in previous logs ??!
Came back after our spinach. Found it after being caught by muggle and dog. Thought we were well away from everyone. TNLN TFTC
Found first waypoint but cap to tight for us oldies to undo. Will go back after some spinach and give it another try.
Had to return to get this one. The first wp was a bit difficult to retrieve and final was a bit off the coord, TFTC, TNLN cheers.
Nice hide for WP1 but got muggled out at the final by a couple of chaps flying a remote controlled butterfly around the park. Returned the next morning and no problem grabbing the final, rather nice hide there too.

We found the first waypoint (very clever) but didn't find the cache before we had to leave. We'll have to try again another day.
Our first cache and DNF for 2009 - not the best of starts but we were ok with that. It was nice to meet Karl360 and family at WP1 and we both looked together with no luck although we spotted the likely hide. Checked with the Belt Family later in the day and went back and found the WP now hidden under gravel behind the plaque but then chickened out at GZ after reading the logs about the wasps - would rather DNF than get stung, there are plenty more caches out there. Nice park though so still enjoyed the visit, thanks.
very nice evening find, was a bit tight to start with, thought i may have to quit but perseverence shone.
Even though we had a good breakfast we had not enough power to get to the first hint.... We are quite sure it was the right spot!

3.50pm. We took some time with this trying to dodge a council worker raking leaf litter and got a bit scratched approaching from the side out of his view. But when he moved out of sight it was an easy find after all!! + T.B. Thank you David & Noeline
Sadly WP1 was not found by Mr Emu this afternoon on a visit to Christchurch for a conference this weekend. I had enjoyed a long "caching walk" along the river, and was heading back to my hotel and thought I might give this one a go. Reading the logs and the hint, I think I was looking around the right area, but I came up empty handed.
Would have been nice to log a Bear_Left cache in N.Z. I live about half-way between this cache and his current city of residence. C'est la vie...
Thanks anyway for bringing me to a nicely tucked away park area in Christchurch Bear_Left.

Very clever hiding place for WP1 but coords were way off. Took us a while to find this one. Took geocoin. TFTC.
We've waited a long time to find this one. We started over a year ago, found WP1 and then the final was missing. It gave us a wonderful sense of closure to finally finish it. We found the coords a bit out. Suggest you add 10m in a northerly direction, but the clue says it all. Dried out cache as best we could and left it looking lovely. Many thanks.
Found the place for the cache was hidden, but getting it was interesting and challenging.
Found the location for the first cache ok, but had some difficulty retrieving the cache. Luckly Mr W.E.K.A. was on hand to provide some assistance.

Just learning how to log the movement of Travel Bugs. Did this one a while back and am writing this to indicate the drop off of GEG6HY. Thanks Hatas
I'd found the first half a while ago but the last part eluded me until yesterday. Increasing the radius of the search got me there. Left a geocoin. Thanks for this. Hatas

[:o] Found wp1 ok, thought it very clever. Found my way to where the cache must be but struggled to find it. Did find a box of Temazapam (sleeping pills) which I took to a pharmacy to be disposed of, and then gave up for the day as there were too many muggles walking dogs. I will be back though...
A Sunday morning with the weather just clearing, so the muggles were absent. WP1 needed a bit more than my own strength. I might go back and fix that some time.
Dodgey GPS coverage made it hard to pinpoint the cache and the clue wasn't helping at first.

We are visiting geocachers from Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada). We've travelled a long distance to tour the beautiful country of New Zealand, and this is our last cache.... a suitable home for our last of 3 travel bugs that we brought with us. I didn't quite understand this "multi" other than I was able to get to waypoint 1, and with help from the hint, where we should look, but without the hint, I don't think I'd have been prepared to start searching the whole park. Fortunatly my wife has "cache-radar" and had a hunch where it was hidden... amazingly (and to my doubt) it was there! Took nothing, left a Red Mini Travel bug, picked up in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia... he started out in Alabama (U.S.)
A bit of the damp seems to deter the muggles, so I headed for this cache. Wandering around in the rain, I'd found the WP but dismissed it when gentle persuasion didn't work. Looked around more and came back to it. A bit more force this time and success. Clever! Cache took a while to find, I was looking in the wrong spot for quite a while. Used the clue and looked in the alternate spot and success. Drained water out of cache box, however log dry. TNLN Thanks.
Well had no problem with muggles as it was a grey Friday afternoon ona long weekend. No problem with waypoint as we have some similr ones in Nelson. The final point however had me scratching my head. But finally found it after I looked at the clue.
I failed to find the final on a vist a year ago so I was determined to complete the task today.
Having been injured last time I had a clear picture of the final local so bypassed WP1 which had muggles present in spite of light rain falling.
This time there was actually a cache there to find so it was easy.

can't find it, stayed for a few hours and still no go. Maybe the gardeners took it?
We can confirm that there are lots of leaves in this garden, and that the cache is not under most them! We did find it in the end. An enjoyable hunt that kept us busy for a while. TFTC

I have had four attemps at finding this cach,I am new to all this,I am sure I am missing something,I feel like a dork wondering around and finding nothing but I will go back once again...thanks
Thwarted on Sunday, because we couldn't access where we thought the clue was hidden, returned today with the help of a strongman. Clue retrieved thought we were going to be thwarted again by a gardener working within range. He kept his back towards us so we rumaged around until we found the cache, did a quick log, tipped out some water and replaced the silica gel. Took geocoin and left Bart Simpson disc.
12:35pm, #4 of day 6 of our week in Chch (that's 89 to date). This happened to be our cache number 200, and seems appropriate that it is Bear_Left cache. Came to Christchurch looking for some new caches and haven't been disappointed. Loved the waypoint, seen some good ones here, but this takes the cake so far.
New initial contents include:
logbook, cache notice, pencil (with polar bear),
sharpener, dolphin puzzle, happy sack, 3D animal puzzle, candle, bubbles, silica (via Balded).

Thanks to the unselfishly offered assistance of Morrrrdorrr and Andre, the cache is back and better than ever!
Cache is back in place. The folliage surrounding the cache requires some care and is probably due for a trim.
Just a leeetle more to do and it'll be back up, thanks to the efforts of Morrrrrrdorrrr (ever since the LOTR movies, you have to roll those Rs!) with, no doubt, invaluable help from Andre!
Ha Ha! A little Déjà vu here? Methinks this cache was placed after The Bears visited a certain cache on Auckland’s North Shore.
Anyway I had no trouble going straight to WP1.
I had a bit of trouble as the items covering the container formed a sort of monkey fist trap, but perseverance won the day.
Finding the cache itself was a disaster though. GPSr and clue took me to a possible spot but there was no hidey-holes here? I moved over a bit and got to some nasty foliage one bit of which attacked my left eye which was saved by my glasses lens taking the blow but popping out of the frame in the process. At this stage I retired defeated. Having managed a repair and regained my sight and composure I returned with my wife for another sortie but again we came away empty handed.

Didn't find this one on a frustrating morning of looking for 5 caches and only finding one. Found the first waypoint and loved it, but then searched for cache and came away empty handed. Linleye.
ARRRRGGGGHHH!! Excellent hiding place for the WP. Took a second attempt, because muggles drove me off the first time. Very Bear-like. But, could I find the cache???? NO!! Hmmmm...will have to have another go one day.
This one was good...why is it when you dont want muggles around, they come in droves. Had to perform some stealthy manoeuvres (sp?) so as not to draw attention to ourselves.

This was the first cache we attempted. Borrowed a GPS from a mate as was off to the West Coast the next day. Found this site was only 900 metres from my home. Middle of the night but Jeff and I took off on our bikes. Could'nt access the first waypoint, so returned the next day with tool. Found with no probs. Can't remember what we swapped as it is now a couple of weeks later. Don't remember seeing a travel bug, but I didn't know what a travel bug was. Excellent hunt. MORDOR&ANDRE

We needed 2 trys at this one, it help that when we turned up we found a man aka swanny looking around and under the bench and we thought to our selfs "hes gotta be a cacher" after checking each other out trying to figure if it was a cell phone or a gps he was holding, we meet up and found the first waypoint.

Should have known that wasn't a cellphone Mr Wild was holding. We did eye each other up for a while, each trying to be as disinterested as the other . Great fun, was good to meet more cachers (the only other one I can think of being a dodgy bear ). I helped out with the first point, bearing in mind his previous handywork. +/- Nothing. Thanks BL.
Another with Nandor... Found the WP immediately - very clever, and on to a five minute hunt at the stash site. Very nice cache and spot.

Cheers.
EDIT: I'd like to take this opportunity to defend myself in reference to Nandor's comments... He had already walked away from the boot and was approaching the driver's door when I helpfully shut the boot that he had left open. My crystal ball was unfortunately on the blink that day, so I was entirely unaware of the location of the car keys. Honestly, who would put the keys down in the boot anyway?! So, I therefore maintain my innocence in this matter, being entirely the victim of circumstance.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it

Just loved this cache!
You bears are so incredibly tricky! It's such a pleasure hunting down these ingenious caches. We found the waypoint, and after much joy and laughter, moved on to the cache itself which we found without too much trouble. But the real trouble happened when we got back to the car. We were going to move off to a certain Sallies cache next, where we were told to bring a screwdriver-type object to access the cache, so we were hunting around in the car boot for such an object before moving on. We had found the object in question, and I'd just pulled my head out of the boot, when my caching partner in crime, shut the boot, locking our only car key inside! The next hour was spent sitting on the side of the road, making certain phone calls to the AA and waiting for them to show up!

Fourth contact with Riddlers76. They found it, and so did I. Hurra! It was so well buried it was only found by poking deep into the leaves with a stick. That's what made me think that the previous caches I missed and they didn't were not missing, just rehidden very well.

This was a nice little spot. No one was around as it was starting to sprinkle so we were able to retrieve the first waypoint easily. Clever hiding spot and good clue in the description. The second part was a bit trickier, but I found it when I stepped on it. Toook a laser light and left a monkey.
sp00k and Ciotach are just getting back into the Geocaching stuff after suffering a VERY busy year end... Spent two days updating and printing out all the latest information.... so this little park is just down the road a little way and We had never been there sooo obviously we had to do this one. The co-ordinates took us right to the first waypoint... This is really trick Bear-Left, how do you find all these things...
After resetting the co-ordinates we wandered all over the park as the GPS couldn't make it's mind up which way it wanted us to go. Eventually it settled down and took us to "the spot". Ciotach spotted the cache first after sp00k had looked very carefully right at it.... where do you get that fantastic tape?
