As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

(Hmm - I didn't realise there was a 'needs maintenance' log type )
The waypoint was inaccessible when I visited.

16-Mar-06
This cache should be made unavailable.
There is work being done at the WP - big fences and keep out signs.

My 2nd Dernel cache for the day went much better than the first. Decoded wp1 in record time and off to the cache. Found it quickly TNLNSL.
Peacful park with nothing to break the silence apart from 3 dragon boat crews training nearby.

Cache check today..all seems ok and in position.

Great little park with a nice view of the city. I wrote down one number before finding a more likely one. The description could be less ambiguous. Found the cache fairly easy after that without too many people going by. The container is quite full. TNLN
Thanks Dernel. Great spot.

10-Dec-05
Nice spot at night, would be lovely during the day.

Note that the 4th handrail has gone missing.

Shame to see the old building looking so decrepid - I reckon there must be some history to the area.

TNLN, thanks Dernel

Found this one with cheeeese and abuseme in a bit of late night caching. Enjoyed the views. TNLN.

Thanks Dernel

Interesting area with a great cache! Tricky math's, "Additional Hints" is a must! We signed the log - left a "Brass Razoo", and took the fish. Lot's of muggles - maybe a coincidence but two came by twice. TFTC Dernel!

just a quick cache before picking up my son at darling harbour. Mucked up my maths but found the cache from the hint quite easy

I enjoyed a pleasant walk along the waterfront to waypoint 1. After gathering the required information and doing the maths, I headed to GZ for a quick find. I've never been in this area, and the night views were magnificent. TNLN. Thanks for the cache.

3rd of 5 finds today. Well worth the walk away from the touristy bits of the city. Thanks. TNLN

Quite a hike from downtown Sydney, but this Minnesota gal was up to the challenge. Took an awesome photo of Sydney and the Fish Market from here. Took a big ant. Left a Joel Burgstahler pen. Thanks millions.

Great cache, great area, great day!

The great view and dragon boat races proved very distracting when trying to work out the co-ordinates of the second waypoint.

Picked up Yorkie Racer #1 Travel Bug.

Nice easy find on a magic day.
The harbour was like a mill pond today. There was somebody out there today. A couple of construction workers on a boat were talking at the top of their voices. Otherwise pretty quiet.
Thanks Dernel. Nice work.

02-Jun-05
This is a good cache to do late at night (lots of bright lights in the park). Took nothing. Left Yorkie Racer #1 TB (it was a tight squeeze!)

01-Jun-05
This was a really good one! We had to keep going back to our car to avoid attracting attention at the park. Quite a busy place even at night. TNLN.

Well where do i start...
1. several diffrent sets of numbers near GZ
2. not one set of calculations was anywhere in the park.
and after reading the no swimming signs i figured it wasnt an underwater cache,so the closest co-ords were a no-go.

3, finally found a decent set of co-ords with a bit of mat-e- magic ( guessing) and these ones turned out to be in the middle of a constructin site, with no closer access than the fence at 50m.

gave up in frustration, to be beaten by a teen! ( see previous log) , Maybe they teach better maths now than bac in the good old days ( 1977-82).

ah well , i guess i might get back here and have another attempt some day.

The 15 year old geoteen of the Froglog family has claimed a solo cache - and a multicache to boot! The geotoddler had fallen asleep in the car, and geodad had to stay with her, so after parking nearby, the teen went out searching on her own. Equipped with mobile to update Froglog, she quickly found WP1, but had to decipher the clue to decide between two numbers that she found. After doing the math, she headed to GZ. Teen cachers tend to be more discreet than adults (embarassment factor), so she poked around a little and was about to head back and swap duties with Froglog, but ended up finding it and brought it back to the car to bask in the glory. The toddler had woken up just in time to claim something from the cache.
T: Wolf stickers, dolphin.
L: Bandaged bear, bug toy and New Orleans mardi gras coin.
After we checked out the cache in the car, the teen proudly lead the family to WP1, then GZ to show where she had found it and rehid it under the watchful eyes of Froglog.
Thanks Dernel, a really great cache in a beautiful spot!

Another restful waterside park close to the city, well-hidden, not difficult cache. T TB Elvis on the Go and TB Jeep 4x4 #1151

A nice walk. Found this one on foot from hyde park without local maps in the gps...a real challange...but fun. took wild blue and balloons left Elvis TB and a Jeep TB. Not big enough cache to leave our signature item.

For the previous finders that were saddened by the despair of Bellevue House and wished for a new lease of life it looks like your wishes will come true. There is a proposal to turn this relic into an art gallery & studio.

Thanks for bringing me to this nice spot with a different perspective on the harbour and the big smoke.

Nice easy find in a location that was used as a WP for Hunt for Pilatus II.

Swapped some velcro cable ties for some critters

Yet another beautiful view I would have missed without this hobby. Misinterpreted the number first and it resulted unlikely location. Second try was much better. Nice cache.

Found with ease this time. Last time I went home with my tail between my legs. Smile Nice spot, this. I just wish some of these historic buildings around Sydney would be restored and put to good use!

What a great spot, plenty of muggles in the area but the cache is in a good spot away from the majority. TNLN.

Such tiny steets, so many dogs. We dodged the parade of pooches to snare this little fellow hidden amidst the inner-city history and dramatic skyline views. Took a velcro strap, left a solid gold jewel encrusted Chrysler keytag. Nicely done, Dernel; we look forward to more.

The furries strike again. Wink Three of us this time, with a pleasant walk through the parks to the west, along the shoreline, to the cache site.

Lots of interesting old structures too. I'm quite disappointed that Newcastle doesn't have many places like the cache site, with old machinery and the like - what few there are have been barricaded off or removed entirely.

Cheers! Smile

Webblokes and Riblit still with me, what fantastic views, anybody know the history of the house?

06-Nov-04
We were visited my a local muggle and his dogs while doing the log bit on this one. He lost interest when I asked about the history of the house. Great views across the water.

26-Oct-04
Had been to WP1 before and messed up so on my way back from a meeting in the city, I stopped off to re-do the biz. Easily found the cache and the most unusual container.

Was not expecting such a smallish container so had nothing to leave.

Signed the log and headed back to work.

Second stop on our inner city election tour and we where outraged to find that such a great spot had taken so long for someone to place a cache. If elected to as PM I intend appoint a minister for cache placement so such oversights never occur again.

VOTE 1 Tangles for PM

A lovely spot tucked on the shores of inner Sydney. Great first cache Dernel. Didnt swap anything as our swaps were too big for the cache. Well done and thanks for showing us another part of Sydney.

22-Sep-04
What a great day for caching! Summer is here at last. (Yes I know it's still Spring)

The cache container was too small for the Tiny Tater TB, so we left some water balloons and took the yellow caribiner.

18-Sep-04
Glebe seems to be full of tiny nooks and crannys to hide caches in. Found quickly. Enjoyed watching all the boats.

17-Sep-04
Nice place to spend lunchtime. Good views all around.

15-Sep-04
What a sneaky little park with great views. Well done Dernel, tricky hiding hole.
TNLNSL.
