As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Was wandering down George St when I realized that there was a now world famous location nearby. Wandered up, was still fairly early in the morning and very few agents or potential agents in the area. Unfortunatly there was a whole lot of crates stacked right in front where I had to look, so after carefully stepping around them was able to grab the clues.

After having a bad GPS lock I wandered off in the slightly wrong direction and had a look for another cache that was near the round-a-bout path that I took. Finally made my way to where the Oracle should have been. There was a potential agent in the location and another who had made his temporary home on the chair behind. Unsure about how to find Betty I decided to give up and head off to where I was originally bound for before my detour.

Now I have gone to log my find only to discover that I would be thwarted in the end anyway!

David.

Package is missing.

After avoiding agents en route to the final location of the package, we were disappointed in not finding it. If it was where I thought it should be, then an agent has made off with it. This was our only chance for this cache so I'll add it to my watchlist to find out what happens. -Rusty Reebs and Ski Bunny from Canada.

7/9 for today and multi #2. Did this in conjunction with "The Naval Treaty". The sun was frying my brain today as well as my skin and I forgot to carry The One at one stage but the clues fell into place as Swampy and I bounced from wedding to wedding like that pair from The Wedding Crashers. We had a bit of a debate as to who Betty was but we eventually found her, her gift and her art.
GZ proved interesting as we had to wait for various agents to go before making the hit.

Thanks Damo. for the hunt from The Ginger Loon.

Agents were out in force today... .... we stumbled from wedding to wedding doing this one.... nice to finally complete this... a well thought out cache

Thanks to TGL for his mathmatical ability.......

had to employ secret geocaching tool #486 today

Tracked the package to GZ a few weeks ago but agent activity was high at that time and every other time I've been past the area. Is this just bad luck or have the agents somehow fixed a tracer to me? I work close by so I'll make sure to grab this one when the agents are not around.

Two french agents occupied the place and we had to observe GZ for a long time CoolCoolCool
THX for this great idea!!!
Left TB Dream catcher
Took Geocoin

Well I took my assistant who has never played and we quickly rolled up WPs 1 and 2 which took us to GZ. That's when the trouble started - spent a couple of hours in between muggle visits searching but to no avail. I'm afraid I have never seen the movie so the clue isn't much help to me - maybe it's not supposed to be? Oh well, as a traveller from Canada, I will be back so maybe give it another whirl then.

You don’t realise how many BUMS are around
I must say I am a little astound
But hey, it adds to the challenge of this find
I have never done one of this kind
Damo, I’d have to say did a great job
Even though my sanity he did rob
Finally surrounded by the homeless
I lay this half year cache to rest
With sanity regained and moral hit boost
I was able to leave this little roost
Thanks Damo, I’ll see you round
Remember TXT Me still has to be found

Cache check. Dropped off a TB and Geocoin.

The integrity of the package has been confirmed at 0800.
A scan of the surrounding area did not detect any agents.

The Oracle (Mrs C.O.D) prophesised the journey of the one (me) ended here (GZ)(She did the first parts). Ironically there was an elderly lady sitting on a bench reading the newspaper which gave me a flashback to the end of Matrix reloaded, however if I asked her for some candy I think she would have hit me with her paper. Area was agent free so no fighting was required. Cache was logged and replaced without attracting any suspicion then off to the nearest phone booth for a quick escape. TNLNSL. Thanks Damo great idea & theme!

I found this multi on friday the 5th in a burst of morning caching in central Sydney. Great cache! Using information on public memorials ensures at least two stages can't be removed and provides a bonus history lesson. Wonderful tour of the fabulous Botanical Gardens, as well. The final stage was complicated by a homeless guy sleeping within less than twenty feet from the cache. Wil stelth I prevailed. Took the new travel bug tags, which I will try to use wisely, and left a North Carolina Museum of History keychain, a little dinosaur, and the Hong Kong Taxi TB, which is now back on the right side of the planet.

We really enjoyed this cache. We're still relatively new to Sydney, we think and this has shown us places we've seen before Smile. The funny thing is, we didn't even know it Big Grin Took TB and keychain, left pen and lucky penny.

Another great cache by Damo. Took a while to get around to doing this one, in the end it was well worth the effort as are all of Damo's caches. Sorry to see "Fruity Bats" archived as it was one of my all time favorites, but what can you do when they take away your hiding hole, hope to see it back soon. Took the DVD and Taya's Froggie TB, left an assortment of drinks. Thanks heaps Damo. Regards Philma.

Had to give this one a try, the theme was so nicely done.

We got too hungry and abandoned the search, but that was only because we found so many interesting distractions along the way that we were on the trail for several hours. Thanks for giving a family visiting from the United States a wonderful afternoon.

Cache has been reloaded.
There is a Matrix Reloaded DVD and an unactivated Travel Bug tag as rewards for the next two finders.

Edited: Previous finders are welcome to claim the DVD or TB tag.

Neo : Woah, deja vu.
Trinity : What did you just say?
Neo : Nothing, uh, just had a little..deja vu.
Trinity : What did you see?
Cypher : What happened?
Neo : A black cat went past us...and then another that looked just like it.
Trinity : How much like it, was it the same cat?
Neo : *shrugs* Might have been, I'm not sure.
Neo : What is it?
Trinity : A deja vu is usually a glitch in the Matrix...it happens when they change something.

I think that the cache has gone.
I found where the cache unquestionably should have been, but it was missing.
There was a small purple spinning top nearby which may have been cache contents.
Despite this I enjoyed the trail - I'll have to watch The Matrix now, must be one of the few not to have seen it yet.

One of my close schoolfriends (Janek Sirrs)got an Oscar for the special effects on the film.

Thanks

Great theme idea, clever cache.

Day 1 - As it was a glorious day we didn't expect to be able to access the cache but decided that we would do a reccy, locate the GZ and return at a better time once we knew the terrain. That was a pretty good plan but my execution was somewhat lacking. WP1 was pretty simple as I have worked in the CBD on and off for a decade or so.

WP2 was a comedy of (my) errors. I had noted down numerous three significant years (primary and backup information) at WP1 and had added the wrong one to the S coord. Nice grassy traffic island, but no sign-of the Oracle. Quickly added the right year and we were off again. HHmmm nice location but no Oracle. Thinking. Thinking. Was it year of birth or death for the E coord? Oh no!

So there I was having noted down THREE significant years (all now used!) but I had needed the fourth. Why I didn't note down the FOUR years so I would now have another option I don't know. What to do? How old could the guy have been when he died? Quick math told me that within a 100 metre radius was WP2. Looked for the Oracle. We spotted a few likely places. So we just started approaching likely candidates one at a time. I met a few nice "ladies" and eventually sidled up to Betty.

Got to GZ. Some sort of love fest today as a number of couples took time out to watch us. Moved on. Day 1 goal achieved.

Day 2 – Arrived early, but not early enough. Three muggles, with much time on their hands, already soaking in the early morning rays. It looked like they had encamped. Looks like a new tactic required.

Day 3 – evening with rain. After a brief look around we had the cache. Took key ring, left ACS badge.

Found this one with Grank. Very clever idea and well thought out!

Thanks Razz

Quick check on the package, still in place. As to previous log, area around GZ is eventually going to be redeveloped (been announced a few years now I think...) but it shouldn't effect the cache.

25-Mar-05
A sunny public holiday does not a successful cache hunt make! Still, managed to get to the final GZ but so many people! Clue meant nothing, sorry wasn't a fan of the movie - perhaps that's why I couldn't get this one. Note that the final GZ is about to undergo redevelopment...

25-Mar-05
Made it to the last waypoint, but too many people around and I am not good at being subtle so had to leave it. Visited again the next day and there was a whole wedding party nearby!

I really enjoyed seeing the locations from the Matrix movie. Thanks for showing me!

07-Mar-05
After criss crossing the city over the weekend (no... not "We'll make you Jump Jump") I finally got to the final GZ this morning!

Once a temporary resident finished packing his life into his backpack moved on from right on top of GZ, I had the cache shortly after.

Enjoyable visit to some movie trivia locations.

I enjoyed this one a lot. Cheers.

WIP

Had a musical muggle playing the clarinet at wp1. will do the maths now and work out what's next for my next trip to the big smoke

04-Feb-05
An agent was lying on the brown chair so it was not possible to approach. (Posted by cellphone at 05:16-GMT)

15-Jan-05
Three visits, thee times thwarted at WP2 by muggles who refused to leave.

Gotta find a better time to visit.

I had done all the ground work for this one before Christmas but found myself at GZ at lunchtime midweek so no chance of finding the final cache.

Returned today and had the cache in about 2 minutes, very good cache.

No swaps as I left them in the car when the wife drpped me off.

17-Dec-04
After logging this cache I wandered over to watch the rehearsal of Carols in the Domain. Surprisingly there were only 100 or so people there to watch the full rehearsal of the concert that the following night attracts 10,000 or so attendees.

10-Dec-04
Quite an adventure! Was confused more often than once. The same MI6 agent (seen by Tangles) was still hanging around WP2. At final destination I pretended readind a book until muggles vanished. This was my 500th find (some logs are missing at the moment).

16-Oct-04
Lupie and Atpaw padding around Sydney again. This one was a fun find, galavanting around the Gardens after locating West of the Summit.

Lupie took the little wooden mouse and left wolf stickers.

Cheers! Smile

I think we met a former MI6 guy at WP2, which was a bit bizarre even for us, we normally find topless or naked women (there where plenty of guys in Speedos but I am trying to forget that).
Anyway this guy was full of conspiracy theories and went on and on about world events and why this event happened and who profited by its outcome, he was actually quite interesting. However we had the information we needed and those strange men in black Speedos kept getting closer. When I pointed this out to our new mate he just casually tells me not to worry they are just some p**fs checking us out.
Oh righto, we are out of here and said hearty cheerio and it was on to the cache.

Beware not to be locked in! It's a really nice spot.
Took a keyring, left Two Roo's Travel Bug.

02-Oct-04
Found this cache this afternoon after the clouds cleared with BigMickB. Enjoyed a stroll in the city and my second virgin find. Was going to leave a spoon but as we all know - there is no spoon. Took the TB Purdy-4. Will place later this weekend. Thanks Damo!

02-Oct-04
Missleah brought this one to my attention when I got home today and I couldn't resist the lure of a pure virgin cache so close to home! Waypoint one revealed itself without too much drama, and just as well, because reception was a bit 'iffy'. Waypoint 2 was a bit trickier, but yielded without too much drama thanks to Missleah's keen eye. Then off to GZ.

After a brief search, I was able to beat Missleah to the virgin cache, and I was pretty chuffed about that! I think this may be only my second virgin! Took a LED keyring, and left another keyring.

Was surprised to find this cache in its virginal state, being the first day of a long weekend and all. Where is everyone else? We thought we had another player at GZ just as we left, but he turned out to be a muggle. Thanks Damo for a top cache! Clearly alot of work has gone into this one. Love your work!

No Spoon! , now what, evey good cache requires a spoon!
And be careful taking candy from strangers.

Top dea for a cache though!
