Out and about today with Lukie1987, and now joined by n0w0rries.
Stumbled upon this lovely old cache. Nice piece of history!

Stumbled upon this lovely old cache. Nice piece of history!
Passing by with OzHockeyChick and Lukie1987 when I realized this great little multi had been archived.
Having found it quite some time ago, with T1nkrman, we headed over to GZ for a look.
What do you know? Lukie found the cache, safe and secure, exactly where we found it back then.
Sad to see that this was archived, I would have been more than happy to take over ownership of it.
Que Sera Sera.

Well what can i say i was in the area driving past this with N0w0rries and ozhockeychick and we thought we'd give it crack as rod had found this one previously so to my surprise it was still here wooo hooo 1.5 years and not been found i love these ones. TFTC

Confusing equation and i shouldve checked the logs first dont think it is there
Suscoe confirmed co-ordinates with a previous finder and it appears that the cache has gone.
There has been a bit of serious tree trimming done recently.
Perhaps the cache went with the timber.
Can the cache owner check this one pretty soon to see what has happened?

Suscoe had no luck here this afternoon.
Not sure what we were doing wrong but we will revisit one day.

Found in the company of GJMMelb and quiet1_au. Q had tried to find this cache before, so we went straight to where his previous GZ had been. No cache there. A check of the logs seemed to indicate a piece of wood covering the cache - and there was none of this here.
We decided to start from scratch, and went to the museum. Somne of the information we retrieved on location, other info was googled. In the end we had a new likely GZ. And this is where q then found the cache!
Interesting navigational dipole antenna here! And what a busy airport. TFTC

Well, it's taken me a few years to finally get around to revisiting this cache having been unable to find it then. For good reason as I made a mistake in the southern coordinate calculations and was looking in the wrong place (a likely-looking spot though)... So after a quick check of this wrong GZ, lochb, G of GJMMelb and I decided to start from scratch and this time came up with the right information (having access to the internet this time helped confirm some answers) and visiting the proper GZ I soon spotted the hiding place and had our visit recorded TFTC - must be one of the longest DNF to Find time periods I've had!...
Very interesting cache found with Lochb and Quiet1_au. Good day today for a stroll and we enjoyed looking at the aircraft and then wandered down and found the cache. We needed to be careful with the calculations. Thanks The Ducks Guts

Totally confused by the numbers I got so pafed. This made things cleared and I was able to get to GZ and made the find in the remnants of light. Spooky quiet here except for the birds. Time to head home. Tftc
This was a cool little multi I had been meaning to do for ages, as I've always had a soft spot for this air museum.
Arrived at the published co-ords this evening with just enough light left for aircraft ID. From the list of options I had a fairly good idea what the answer to Q1 would be, but vague memory from a previous visit a few years back meant that I was also fairly sure that two of the planes listed were sitting outside.
Which was the case, but it also turned out my assumption as to the correct jet was on the money, which also gave me the answer to Q2 and (with confirmation via the interwebs) Q3 as well.
By this time I needed a torch to see the 7 digits off the pole nearby, then it was back to the car to do the calculations for true GZ, and then a very short drive before parking and finding the container in the first place I looked closely under torchlight.
Signed the log, thanks for the cache, The Ducks Guts.

Find #780 (#4 for Multi March)
I had looked at this several times in the past as it's certainly in my area. I found it a little hard to identify the plane but a visit to the location some months back helped. After that I crunched the numbers but I wasn't convinced that my calculated GZ looked likely so I shelved it for another time. This month I'm on the self imposed Multi March challenge (31 multi caches in the 31 days of March). I looked at this one again and came up with some new figures which were complete garbage. I went back to my original idea and at least decided to go and have a look. Once I got there physically I saw a promising hide area and indeed the cache was soon in hand. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited my personal TB. Thanks for the cache The Ducks Guts. I made a meal of it but got there in the end.

Having completed nearby shopping duties we had a go at Wings. We were en-route to the event in Chaddy so there wasn't a lot of time to enter the museum. Thankfully Dee's eyes are better than mine and she got some of the information required from outside the fence. I helped research the rest and we had some co-ords.
Not much luck finding the container though. I searched around with no luck. Retreating back to the car I checked and rechecked my numbers - yep no problem. Reading back through logs I figured out where I might not have been looking properly so went back, removed the previously mentioned wooden block, and found the cache down in there. Took TB.
Thank you The Ducks Guts for an interesting little history lesson!

Out orienteering again this evening and took the opportunity to grab this on the way home.
I collected the clues a month or two back whilst MuggleWife was shopping at DFO but had to leave the cache unfound then when I was summoned to pick the good lady up. I solved for the GZ at home and have been awaiting this opportunity and arrived for a quick find just on dust.
After signing the log I took MuggleWife for a drive and look around the airport area. It's amazing how you can drive past an area for years and remain oblivious to what is really there.
Thanks for placing this cache The Ducks Guts

We finally found it, had been looking for this before.
Met up with noworries and after some re calculations we were in pursuit of GZ. With some ducking and weaving we had the cache in hand, log signed and TB's dropped, we hastily replaced cache. Thanks for the interesting walk back in time.

Finally found it with T1nkrman on our Friday night run.
We started this one some time ago and went awry with our calculations.
Tonight the cache was quickly found on our first take off. It is good to finally get our Wings.
Thanks to the Ducks Guts for the flying lessons.
Left some fair dinkum Aussie wings.
Davy Jones Locker Geocoin paid a flying visit.

A few years ago I collected the information to give the co-ordinates for this one, but never got around to actually signing the log. Today while visiting the Air Museum we redid the calculations to ensure nothing had changed over the years and then after an extensive look at all the displays we diverted to GZ on the way out and signed the log. TFTC
after a long process of trile and error we finally found the cache, i love this find, my life dream is to fly planes, and came to the airport hopeing to find somthing like this, thanks for the hide
Introduced Chuckles95 to geocaching with this cache and she already loves it! Also with Dosy and SethyD, TFTC !
Found at 1:19am with SethyD, Nadiaangel and Chuckles95, although it was mostly Seth and I doing all the work! A lot of this was trial and error for us, as we were getting our facts wrong and realised the co-ords were way off! A bit more research and we were straight onto the cache. Signed and Seth left some sort of trinket, we enjoyed this one! TFTC!
DROPPED INTO DFO THIS AFTERNOON SO DROVE AROUND FOR A CACHE TOO NICE TO HAVE A LOOK AROUND THANKS
In fact I had planned to do a short flight but the instructor returned late due to heavy head-wind. Hopefully while returning next time from Switzerland I'm more lucky.
I paid 10$ to make sure I had the right answers and looked around in the museum. Obviously I was the only one. Interesting are the very first, >100 year old aircrafts, the rest is unfortunately not in a good condition. TFTC

Find #415
I grabbed the numbers off the pole and then took my time looking at the planes. They are impressive still despite being out of action. Not sure if my skills/calcs were a bit off but the GZ I calculated had me in bare grass. However I used my caching senses and a close likely spot soon revealed the cache. So I was pleased to make the find but not sure where I went wrong. Will have to do some googling when I get home. Tftc.

Couldn't get the info as museum was closed and signs were too far away to read. Cool planes though
Arrived at 10:00am this morning to watch my brother participate in a twin seat redbull experience flight, only to find once we arrived that flying had been cancelled today. Luckily I had planned to do some light caching while we were over this way and knew that this was nearby. We paid our entrance to the museum and wandered around all the planes, soaking up some of our aviation history. Was thrilled to see the crew module of a F1-11C on display. This is my favourite of our Military's muscle, even though sadly it has now been decomissioned due to high costs to keep them flying. After finsihing our browse we had all the answers to the questions and headed on to the cache. Once in hand we signed the log and replaced the cache in it's location. Glad we made the journey here today, even if we didn't get to see my brother go up! TFTC The Ducks Guts.
As we made our way to the museum we saw some fantastic looking planes. We decided we had go inside for a closer look. I can't believe the sort of bravery it would take to get in one of these and fly into a battle zone with people trying to shoot you down. I've served in the navy but these pilots must have been something special. After looking around we solved the co ord's and headed off to gz for a quick find. Tftc and for bringing me to this cool piece of history.
It was such a nice day today I decided to walk around some parks and do a few multis.
This one was a very large challenge and took me about 1 hour mainly because I had to google everything on my phone and there were a few different answers to some of the questions and it didn't help that I new nothing about aviation. It's quite a tough cache for a difficulty 1.5.
Anyway, after going to 2 wrong GZ's, I finally found the right one and signed the log. Luckily hardly anyone around today which made it a little bit easier. TFTC.

Found on our 2nd attempt on a miserable drizzly windy Sunday arvo. We approached one of the guys at the Aviation museum and asked them about the fighter jet. One of the answers given were incorrect. Anyway, after calculating our answers, GeoDad discovered the error. We plugged in our co-ords on our gps and YES, our multi was finally solved. GeoMum spotted it and GeoDad retrieved it.

This was really hard. Don't be fooled. What was this Algorhythm all about.
Some of the bananas pride themselves on puzzles but this one had them tricked.
Throw in muggles that seem to come from another planet. Friendly enough and prepared to cut a deal but just don't speak our language.
B1 really was lost as B2 and Archie provided the decoy.
The venue was great and a result did finally appear from the ether.
Get me out of here.
The outcome only to improve by a fantastic hide. The Ducks Guts please no more of these.

Had some help from the men at the aviation museum and a short walk to the location of the cache.
Found at 1.35 with Burge. We had come here earlier last night to gather the clues for this one but when we tried to retrieve the cache there were a few muggles hanging around that made it difficult for us to proceed. Luckily at this time in the morning the coast was clear and it was a very easy find. Thanks for some puzzling questions and for placing this one so near the airfield!
after some debate on the planes origin we set off to find the cache and had this is hand. Would love to come back here when it's open. Tftc tnln sl
Found @ 23:20. I'd gathered some numbers on a previous night visit, then gathered more on a day trip. Once I'd done the calculations at home (with a little Google-fu mixed in) I had some reasonable coordinates.
I was meeting up with Miss Raven after she finished work nearby and had a few minutes to spare so came looking for this. I walked right up to GZ and made an insta-find. I love it when a plan comes together.
Took trackable, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache The Ducks Guts.

Sir j oz worked very hard to do all the maths and i just went to the spot to hunt. Dodgy me. Good place near my work. Tftc =)
Found with geokids again. They live coming to special places, especially when the search is successful. The puzzle was fun, with some educated guesses since the museum was closed today. Dim Sims from the shop on the walk to GZ means we can maybe get in another couple of caches close by before heading home.
We came down to the airport to pick up our son from a flying lesson and had a bit of spare time. We do love looking at planes so this cache was a fantastic way to fill in a bit of time. Very enjoyable. TFTC
Had a chance to drop by on this one today, love the aircraft Cold arvo but a quick find TFTC SL

Have been keen to do this one for awhile and today was finally in the area. An interesting start point and had to completed the research on site, which I could of done from home. The place was locked but am keen to return to get a proper look at the other planes soon. At GZ the cache was a quick find, after taking a minute trying to get some access to it. TFTC The Ducks Guts.

15/12/2011 11:16 TFTC TNLN SL On the way into town I remembered that I had done most of the leg work for this one already barring the digits on the pole. Since I saw the sign to the museum as I drove past I just had to go in and complete the job. Saw no one at WP1, got the digits and back into the welcome coolness of the car whilst I crunched some numbers and got the GZ coords. I drove around and parked next to a red painted curb but wasn't going to be long so strolled to GZ and found the likely hidey hole. Getting it out was hard as it was jammed under some wood. Great area and nice hide location. TFTC The Ducks Guts TNLN SL
Needs a new logbook - appears the owner hasn't visited the site since April 2008, so any prospective finder might like to take a new one with them. It needs to fit into a 200ml sistema.
Well, I learnt a little more history with this one. Always enjoy caches where I pick up a few interesting facts. Another cold after midnight jaunt ... had to explain myself to a security guard who drove over as I sat in my car parked outside the Air Museum. Thankfully I have a useful prop in my pocket that tends to come in handy in these kind of situations (don't I gmj3191 - if you're watching).
Turns out he started telling me a story about something called geocaching, and some person he saw collecting numbers off a power pole a couple of weeks ago ...
Gathered the clues, made a quick google for info on my nuvifone, and headed away from the watchful security cameras to retrieve the cache. Managed to find a little space in the logbook to make my mark. TFTC

Found with Irontoad today. We had an interesting talk with the volunteer at the musuem who provided Irontoad with the information he needed! Irontoad couldn't do the maths with this one but we found it anyway. Took a crescent/moon and left ball.

Found with Kmace on a great day while doing other cache activities. I thought as Saltzac ws an Alien he might appreciate this caache. This is not only an Air museum where he can learn about our primative aviation. It is also the last place Fredrick Valentine was senn alive, before dissapearing with his plane after contacting and reporting a UFO over bass straight.
The incident made headlines and a massive search turned up nothing. Fred was never seen again.
Maybe Saltzac or his friends can shed some errie luminous light on this mystery

Well, having good eyes does pay off.
I could see the information for the first question on the sign, but only just. I had a bit of trouble counting guns, but I got the correct answer after having a look at the wings of some of the other planes out the front. The third answer I got easily. Then we drove off to what we thought was GZ, but turned out not to be. Drove back and checked the answers with mum and figured out I didn't do the subtraction right
oops
Found (real) GZ without a problem. TFTC TNLN.

Our fourth and final cache for the day, planes are not my kinda thing so we did as previous cachers have and went in and got the answers from the lovely worker in the museum They are obviously getting used to it as all three answers rolled straight out having only started asking the first one!
Got a bit lost trying to work out the table, so we headed off to get lunch around the corner and ponder how to get those last two numbers from the answers, ahah! Back around and found it in the obvious spot.
Thanks for the mind bender the ducks guts

I visited this ages ago but needed the info. This time I came equiped with my 3G iPad, the geocacher's friend, and soon had the numbers. A short distance to two possible candidates for GZ, the first of which proved to be the right one. Good to have this one sorted. Thanks for a great multi.
Decided to head out tonight in the cold and rain and do some caching. A night like tonight would definitely be muggle free (perfect caching weather) as any normal person would be snuggled up in a nice warm bed. Had been past about a year ago and got the info and had a good long chat to the old guy insoide the museum. Couldn't find the cache back then for two reasons, too many muggles at GZ and as it turns out I had the wrong spot. A relook at the cache recently and I found my error with the help of another cacher so it was off to GZ tonight for a nice quick find. Reaaly enjoyed the museum and the multi. Thanks.
I found this rather hard as I (Mrs Dalekdude) have no idea about jet fighters. Would have been easier if I attempted this with the male contingent of the household. However Goggle was definitely my friend and together we solved the multi-cache and found the cache.
Rather interesting learning about Australian war history.

Bit harder multi. We needed to use the iPhone for research which is a first! Easy find. Thanks
#168 - Yippee! Finally got this one. We went looking for this one a couple of times and just couldn't find it... no wonder why as one of the answers was wrong. sigh. Thank you for the jackam team for your help!!! I found the right answer, went to get the numbers from the pole again and calculated the coords. I think they were pretty much spot on. Woohoo! Happy, happy!
The old guys here at the museum were real enthusiasts so they loved answering our questions. Found with Jackam. TFTC
We arrived just as the museum was closing but the man working there was happy to answer all our questions. Drove to GZ and found the well concealed cache. Found with RollaB. TFTC.
Althought I seemed to have the correct information (later confirmed with some online research) and the GZ was a likely looking spot I wasn't able to locate the cache. I was able to locate a swarming feral bee-hive, and a probable Rainbow Lorikeet's nest (judging by the parent's displeasure!) though... Hoping its just a case of not looking in the right place rather than muggles...
The log book is now totally full. A second book is needed. Thanks, The Ducks Guts.
The museum was closed, and I did not want to make this a two-trip-cache if possible, so, I answered the questions that I could by looking at the jet fighter, leaving one blank along the way. Then, I relied on my limited knowledge of linguistics and a bit of deductive reasoning to figure out the question I skipped.
Got in on the first go!
Thanks, The Ducks Guts, for an interesting cache. It brought back fond memories of my flying days.

Very interesting place. Did not have time to visit the
museum but will certainly come back one day.
Had no problems finding the cache and also learnt
a lot about fighterplanes.

One of the first caches I ever found out about, took me this long to grab it. While having a fly today I grabbed this one on the way out. Didn't take long to work out the clues and head down to GZ for a well concealed cache in just the place you would expect it. TFTC
Never knew that this museum was here - what a great place. Did out work and had the cache location worked out. At first couldn't work out where it might be but as we drew closer it became clear - only strange thing is the log appears to be an old (and full one) with the last entry being from 2007??
This cache had to be done as we were attending my Aunties 80th Birthday Party at the Aero Club for lunch, and could not drive so close by and not atempt it. I found a few answers before leaving home, and the remaining answer was soon gained on attending the Gz. Cache was soon in hand. What a great bit of history in these streets. Found during our "Wal has returned from Sydney for the weekend" caching expedition. Thanks the Ducks Guts. TFTH...SL...TNLN

Found after a thrilling wander through the museum hangar. Very cool planes.
This was actually my first cache find, 3 years ago... back then our geocaching involved pushing prams at night and finding our way by google earth printouts.
These days the kids run ahead with gpsr and log the find themselves.
Cheers from team bearsleys, with cousins in tow!

Out and about with Toy car tonight after a dance practise nearby. I had some recon previously and so enjoyed my chat with an ex english pilot of one of these mighty beasts. But tonight is was straight to the place. It had me worried for a while when I saw the fence but soon to be realized as no problem. I think this one must have shrunk with time as I don't consider this a regula.
Thanks I really enjoyed your cache, another place I would not have gone to except for caching.

Xambo4U and I were practicing some Square Dancing at a nearby hall. When finished we decided to do some of the nearby caches.
Xambo4U had done the calculations on a previous visit so today was just to collect the cache.
Xambo4U found this cache at 6.30PM.
I think this cache has changed size. I would call it a small not a regular.

I had a great time at the museum today. Sat and chatted with the 2 old guys who were there running the place.
This is one of the places that I will have to return with the Geokids.
Found the cache without too much trouble.

Second search for this one as I had made an error with my calc's last time. Armed with the new GZ the find was very easy with M spotting the cache seconds before L from Team Royalty. TNLNSL. TFTC. KeMS
I was lucky - the museum was open and one of the men on duty could answer the questions. Thanks The Ducks Guts.
I used to spend a lot of time at this airport, but haven't been here for many years. I only ever went into the museum once, but with the geo-kids obvious excitement whilst doing this cache, we will have to return when the museum is open and have a proper look around. TFTC.
