On our Australian trip . After started for some days in Darwin we are on the road to Perth now .On the Road after Katherine we have seen Edith Falls, Kunnurra and Bungles Bungle. Finally we cross the Pentecost-river to enter the Gibb RiverRoad . A lot to see like Emma Falls, El Questro, Mitchel Falls, Manning Gorge, Galvans Gorge, Bell Gorge, Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge .Now return on the sealed road again . Further over Derby, Broome, Port Hedland, Karratha, Karijini NP, Exmouth and now down the coast to Perth .After Coral Bay, Carnarvan and Monkey Mia, we headed further on the road and stopped for this one .Impressive .TFTC# 17'339

My friend, Sue, took me here 9 years ago. They used to have a self cleaning public toilet that played music.

Foundwhile visiting this impressive memorial. This was a must do as in 2015 we sailed over the site of the wreck stopping for a memorial service on our way to Galipoli

Found on an evening walk in Geraldton. What a beautiful, peaceful and well thought out location. On top of the hill overlooking the water. A perfect place to remember the fallen. Took memories, left a small piece of my heart behind. TFTC.

Great views and a thoughtfully created memorial to the brave men of the HMAS Sydney. The uncanny co-incidences when the HMAS Sydney was located make this memorial even more special. A lovely place to visit. We chose option two, a photo with the dome. TFTVC Team Red Roo.

Made our way up the turquoise coast to Gero from Perth on a caching trip for a few days. Rain has been heavy and relentless but we are still making good progress. TftcMM

Found 12:14Three months in Australia with Muggle friends; stopover in Singapore on the outward and return flights. Caches and labs where they are on the way and can be done without too much effort. You may forgive me for using the same standard phrase everywhere, but there's not much more to it than that. Many thanks to all the owners for making our hobby possible. Tasteful memorial--------------Decided to do a long road trip, flying in from Canberra, starting and finishing the drive in Port Hedland. It was a long day of flights, followed by 7 days of lots of kilometres. I stopped at every 'point of interest' along the way, I wanted to miss nothing! Earthcaches, Virtuals & AL's are always very good waypoints for interesting things as well.Every night I downloaded a bunch of podcasts and these made the kilometres fall away. This was the first outback road trip I have done where I saw more emu's than kangaroos. The wild camels walking in the desert were also very cool to see. My trusty swag served me very well.

Today we disembarked from P&Os Pacific Explorer for a day in Geraldton. After visiting the Cathedral we walked to the HMAS Sydney Memorial. What a fantastic well thought out display. The visit was highlighted having a well informed tour guide to show us around. Thank you for the cache, a favourite point for a wonderful visit to this memorial.

Day xx of my road trip, morning caching in Geraldton, before heading south.

On an overnight trip with geo friends to Geraldton for some sightseeing and picking up a few caches along the route.

When we arrived here, we were totally surprised at the creation of this magnificent and stunning memorial, certainly a fine tribute to all the crew on board HMAS Sydney II, R.I.P. ️️

Extraordinary and wonderfully symbolic tribute. The trip is making me think about re-imagining Australian history! Glad we detoured this way. Have travelled WEST from home base 3500 km away and that includes altitude as well so enjoying the landscape and habitat changes of this BIG country. TFTC and the lure - another fave.

We love this memorial and welcomed the excuse of finding caches to make us return. TFTC

We spotted this when we were planning our trip. Arrivedin town and unloaded car into our room and set out to do some shopping for dinner. We saw how close this was and couldnt resist doing tonight. Timed it perfectly as the day ended and lights came on. What a tribute! Well worth the visit. TFT Virtual.

After diving to Geraldton from Mamdurah late this afternoon- so we went to grab some groceries and checkout this fantastic memorial to do our photos tomorrow ( with my husband Stretch0 ) we got there just on dusk and took some great photos - so have decided to use one from tonight - we will be back to do the Adventure Lab tomorrow and take more photos Thanks for a great Virtual which gets a favourite point from me

This is day 2 of my Exmouth trip and today I'm heading from Geraldton to Kalbarri !
