Attempted during a road trip around Central NSW. The first bit of firetrail 'off-roading' I have done in my new car. Made it down to the bridge without any issue. Learned how to change coordinate format and datums in my GPS. Set off on the first projection (80m @ 80deg) and arrived at two trees with hollow trunks. Poked around but had no luck. Expanded my search but nothing else seemed to feel right. After about 30min, I returned to the bridge and attempted to bruteforce search for another WP within 50m. Another 30min went by and I decided to cut my losses. This cache (at least WP1) will need a check.
Enjoyed a nice walk to Bulcamatta Falls this afternoon and stopped by to find the traditional cache Bulcamatta Falls but unfortunately, that cache had succumbed to the Gospers Mountain 'mega' fire earlier this year. Afterward we dropped by on WP1 of this cache and had a good search but no luck today, found an excellent spot but no joy...will have to come back for this one.
We found it! We found the first waypoint on our second try by following the bearing more closely, then on to the second waypoint after one try in the wrong direction, then the final point.
It took a bit of searching but when my son and I found it we were very excited. Our first ‘real’ geocache! Very cool items inside and we were happy to be only the fourth names in the log book, nearly two years after the previous one.
If you try this multi-stage geocache, don’t give up, just keep thinking about it and trying and you will find each waypoint.

The day out with Troopy1 and Fnsaws was really enjoyable. We parked at waypoint 1 and went in search of waypoint 2. Went off slightly at a tangent and didn't find anything, After readjusting the angle the find was made and the new numbers as well as the information was noted. Then it was off to waypoint 3 where a quick find was made and both the containers revealed the same information. This was then entered into the GPSrs and we were off again. No problems finding the track and we went off with high hopes. Even though previous cachers found it quickly, we just couldn't locate this cache and after a long and extensive search we had to admit defeat.
Out today with goingplaces2 and troopy1, found way point 2 after a little bit of bush bashing, and switched the GPS to UTM/ADG66 and off to find way point 3. Found it right on GZ, to our surprise we found 2 cache containers at this spot, fortunately they both contained identical co-ords and information for the final leg of this cache. So off we went to the new co-ords to grab the cache, however searching for about an hour with 4 sets of eyes and re-entering the co-ords several times we still came up with nothing. Pretty sure we were in the right place, will have to try and get some extra info about the hide before we head back for this one. As previous logs indicated an easy find we are a bit perplexed about not finding this one.
I've been slowly approaching my milestone without any real thought whether I would try to do a specific cache or, like I have mostly done, just do whatever happens to fall on that number in the course of caching. I did the Final Cut with Canary for his 7000th cache a few weeks ago, but I didn't have the time or will to push myself to make it a joint milestone with him.
So, having found my 5999th cache the other day, I began to think about the Bee Gees cache at Blackheath as a milestone. It's a cache I have long wanted to find. However, the weather yesterday was hot and I wondered whether combining heat, possible bushfire conditions and a late predicted storm would be that smart an idea. I decided not.
We went out this morning without any particular plan except to find a few caches for Toriaz I had already found. She wanted to get Bulcamatta Falls, so we headed up to Kurrajong and then down the road. It wasn't until we were half way down that I remembered that this cache was in the area. I hadn't attempted it last time I was here. It ticked a few boxes for me. It was an old cache, a multi, placed by Ropes with an interesting twist with the use of a different datum. Also, I'd long wanted to find this cache. I didn't know where it would end up, but I thought I could give it a go, and maybe it would turn out to be a much more sensible choice, given the heat, than my first idea for a milestone.
So we parked and did the projection, found the second waypoint easily, and then had a fiddle with our GPS units to get them in the right head space. Waypoint 2 looked like it would be easy, and with an easy find at place with spot on coordinates, we were assured we had the right settings. Once I saw where the final was I knew we should have an easy time of it. And so it was. A nice easy find after many months of sitting there unloved. I was pretty happy with it. Thanks Ropes for your continued maintenance of this cache, and may it sit there for many more years yet.

I'm trying to complete the requirements for a challenge cache (50 years unloved), so wanted to find Bulcamatta Falls today to pick up over a year of unloved points. I knew this cache was also out this way, but I had looked at it years ago and hadn't known what to do with it. Today bikerbuddy realised we were driving right past the first waypoint, so we stopped to have a look at it.
The additional years of experience since I first looked at this one meant I understood what to do now. We found waypoint 2, experimented with our GPSs, and headed towards WP3. It was easily found, giving us confidence that we could find the final.
Off to the final cache, where we made a quick find. Amazing how long this one has sat out here, unnoticed by muggles. As a bonus, I picked up another 783 unloved days. This little trip has got me to within a year of completing that challenge cache.
Thanks

Cache replaced and good to go... Found it already and going with a friend ... yes, it is in a very different location! Cross the creek from the SW corner of the campsite ....
Hi
found the Route66 cache yesterday but sadly it was all burnt, this will need to be replaced.

Was up this way visiting family for a Birthday. (Happy Birthday J and Cambo) and with the CO getting back to J+J.au with one WP confirmed location we headed this way to finish the job.
With the all terrain geomobile supplied and a "ha least get a cache" we were on the road and on the way to a familiar spot which was searched high and low last weekend.
As soon as the WP coords were obtained the short romp to GZ was made and the cache located by Baja15.
Great cache, beautiful location.
we should come back here with the Geo_kids and camp. it looks beautiful!

After last week's disappointing effort today we came and conquered. I was glad that today we enlisted the help of a more appropriate vehicle/cacher since the constant rain has made the road in even rougher and the water crossing a bit larger. Thanks Geo-junkies. After completing most of the cache last week today we made an easy find of the repaired waypoint (Thanks Ropes) and soon on to the final location with cache in hand.
Big smiles and high fives as we finally made this find. J+J.au and I have had this cache in our sights for some time. Looks like a great camping spot that seems to be very popular. Thanks Ropes for a very different multi and thanks to my fellow cachers for the company.

What a great birthday present !!! Last week we came to seek and didn't find the treasure, I was little apprehensive with all the rain we had and our vehicle may not have been capable of coming out of the first hill from the bottom. luckily Geojunkies joined us on the venture and we headed off in their 4WD, the water crossing was somewhat higher and the roads were more slippery but we made it.
With all of us on the Job we soon located the treasure, Chalk couldn't believe we had missed it last weeks venture. I took the travel bug that have been here for so long to continue their journey.
Thanks Ropes for a cache with a total new concept , lucky Baja15 has done SES training which helped us with the coodinates.
Great camping spot, even with the weather not been favorable theres people here.
A favourite point from me. YEHAAA.

Thankfully we were all safe and prepared in Goejunkies geo-mobile, a vehicle we had decided would be better to take us down the slippery slope before the camp ground. With J & J.au, Baja.15, Geojunkies and myself on board, we made a this a successful find. Great cache, great location, great company, thankyou.
Cache and waypoints all in good order .. Go for it! Yes, even my Oregon 450T was able to verify co-ords on this AGD66 cache... Which this year is 10 years old...
Today out sole unposed was to find this cache, Baja15 and Chalk came along. We has no problems fining Wp1, Wp2 however Wp3 is missing , I email the CO, and some other cachers for conformation .
Thank you to the people that offered assistance but alas, it wasn't to be. We were really hoping to rescue the 2 travellers missing in action.
Hoping the CO could do a cache check on this, and we could complete the mission. Cheers

My first cache in Arizona. We are in the area visiting various locations including Williams, the Grand Canyon, Prescott. We plan on logging alot more in AZ! A good location to visit, thanks for the cache!
We found the first waypoint, even though we do not agree with the distance (75 m rather than 80). We also did not know whether we should go 80 degrees Magnetic or True course, but finally realized that it was Magnetic.
Then our problems begun: Re-setting the GPS to the (hopefully) correct format and datum gave us WP2 in a spot where we could not find any tracks leading to.
So we gave up for now. Will do some more research on the GPS settings and be back another time for the rest.
Thanks any way so far, it seems to be a great cache.

Back at our favourite camp spot at Burralow Creek and another shot at this one. Worked out that my GPS has a habit of reverting to more usual formats each time a new way point is put in and this is where we went wrong last time. This is a great cache in a fantastic spot and earns a point for being at our favourite camping spot. Had to do some work on way point three as it was a little worse for wear. The cache container has no lid and thus water damage has occured to the card with the next coords. Was able to make out the numbers and went over them in pen. Also added a plastic zip lock bag as we did not have a replacement container handy. This should keep the water out at least. Thanks again for a cache in such a great spot and for the lesson in other formats.
Found WP1 quite easily but after that we had some trouble with the GPS and the different format. Went for a quick look but ended up in the creek and decided that we would learn some more and return when we have had more practice with this format. Thanks.
Spent quite a bit of time on this hunt, all to no avail.
Don't know yet where I have gone wrong but this provides me with an opportunity to learn a but more about GPS datum formats before I try again.
I'll be back (without muscles).

After another recent trip down to these parts, I just had to bring back the family and friends to show them the terrific glow worm caves here and tops camping grounds we spent one night and took care of this pesky multi while we were here, once I worked out how to reset the Oregon with the right settings it was smooth sailing.
Really the hardest part for us was trying to keep a fix for our 80 degrees!
Got there though and shortly after had the cache. Took nothing out but have left 2 x TB's. Real good work Ropes a very enjoyable and "GPS educational cache" if you will Thanks for bringing us back
We enjoyed this one so much we saved it for our 1700th find
P.S We removed the can of green seas tuna someone left behind can't have things like this in caches out of date and all

Went back today after figuring out my problem using UTM/AGD66.
Found WP3 and GZ easily without more than hearing water!?!
TNLN. TFTC and the lesson and the new camping spot.

The road to the camping area is open...the cache is high and dry...should not get wet doing this one!
After checking with NPWS that the road and area was open.
Found WP1 easily.
Then WP2.
Only thing we got looking for WP3 was wet. No luck at all.

Advised by NP that fire trails in the area (and includes Burralow camping area) are closed for maintenance until 31 March 2009. No access to the cache site.
This cache was a great excuse to explore the options we hadn't yet explored on our new Garmin Oregon gadget. As it was, the GPSr turned out to be an excellent tool and we were able to complete this one a lot easier than I think we would have otherwise done.
Good fun cache, thanks,

One of the best things about learning all this UTM stuff is that it can be used with topographical maps. Then this new world magically opens up. All those mountain summits, deserts, rivers and canyons you always wondered about are now attainable. Soon you will be able to find your way through twisting valleys then pick the right ridge which leads to the pass to the summit of the highest mountain in the area. When you finally step on top and survey the world below your life will never be the same again.
Found this one on a weekend camping trip at Burralow Swamp.
Great cache, thanks for the challenge. Found with Muddy Diver.

Found with Dernel after agreeing we would start this one off today and finish off tomorrow. A nice local multi and well hidden too. Tricky trying to adjust the GPS's though!
Thanks for the intro to parts of my menu I would never have otherwise visited

While doing a cache check I decided to make this one easier (and that has nothing to do with the fact I have had 4 goes at finding Bullamakanka or similar). Now only 4 definite WPts, no guessing. Structure>stump>tree>cache.
Ropes.

Now here's a hint to find a point given as x metres at y degrees ... calculate the back bearing (y +/- 180), set your current location as the GOTO, then walk in the planned direction until the GPSr tells you you are x metres from, and the degrees is the back bearing to, your original location. It will make sense once you try it. Cheers.
Not having been to this campground before, this excellent cache was the perfect excuse for a visit. We drove in on the fire trail from near Bilpin - this track is in very good condition, there would be no problems for 2WD vehicles unless wet. Quickly found WP1 and then on to the next target. Choices, choices..... In the end we only had to find a total of five WPS. Mind you one of those was found by accident whilst searching for another WP - talk about accidental heroes.
The cache is very well stocked indeed. We took the little glass heart plus the out of date lip balm and left a sewing needle kit (comes in a plastic case). Thoroughly enjoyed this cache and when we come back we may go hunting for all the other WPs just for the fun of it. Thanks Ropes.

Been to this area many times, a great spot. Took a little while to find the first mark (couldn't see the forest for the trees so to speak!) but once that was taken care of got it on the 5th. TN LN
We spent a very pleasant weekend camping at the nearby campground with Team Webguy.
Of course, what better way to top off the stay, than with a cache!
As mentioned in Webby's post, first WP was found with ease. Strangely the first directions were on a laminated sheet laying on the ground, out in the open.!?
After a short bout of techno dementia, the legend(s) were convinced that AGD66 and UTM was indeed what we wanted!
I thought about threatening to jam that pretty blue case on the legend in the car door in exchange for Webby's thumb. Technology always understands threats of physical violence! We won that argument!
Upon settling on the correct datum, the rest was easy. The multi being dispatched in a total of 3 waypoints.
Took - Sunscreen
Left - Allen Key Set
Thanks for a great cache!

We were staying out here for the weekend, it's such a nice place to stay.
Found the 1st WP easy enough. Found the original set of 3 choices on the ground near the container.
After a false start setting the legend correctly, seems if you set the legend one way, it resets the other setting and we did not notice so we spent quite some time looking where nothing was.
Finally noticed the problem and then had the next wp easily, then, the cache not long after that.
Smashed my thumb in the car door, nice double blood blister under the nail, me thinks the nail is a goner. ;-(
Swapped a magnifying glass out for a oky strap.
One of the best stocked caches we have seen in ages, thanks Ropes.

only stuffed up once went racing thru wild bush only to realise that the Legend had reverted back to WGS 84. but intrepidely went out this morn and avoided the muggles camping and got it.

A cache check conducted...all is well AND for a time, the number of waypoints have been reduced..so what are you waiting for?
Work in Progress. This is a fun cache ran out of time after a number of steps but I will be back
Tricky! And very clever... we were actually just in the area with our 4WD club and wanting to do some basic GPS training for some GPS newbies, and we stumbled across this litle gem.
It had a bit of everything... treasure hunt trails, datum changes, a bit of bearing navigation, and we really liked the "choose your own adventure" style of thing. Well done to the creators! Great for honing those GPS skills.
We didn't get to finish the whole thing, but we did do 4 or 5 points before we ran out of time. Would like to finish it off another day.

Ah yes for the sake of pencil and paper.
I was the "brains-trust" of the heKawe tribe,as we voted out a certain cacher for his devious locations and plans.
Im still not sure if we visited every location, but am sure we foud at least one twice.
Oh i found 5c in the trail at one locatin, so i came out ahead! who hoo.
also located a dropped uhf radio, which was gratefully received by the team who had lost it.

Off to a NOT so good start, but we quickly visited every part of the swamp.
This cache rekindled a previous nightmare I'd had doing a fellow cachers similar type of cache.... Here, there, back here, over there and finally its was there. Right on top of the ants nest... Thanks Ropes for providing our Saturday afternoon entertainment.

What can I say that hasn't been said already? This one had 6 (?) of us walking, driving and climbing all over the place. It was a great way to fill an afternoon. Thanks Ropes!
I had to be the first finder for this cache, a brand new multi right at the spot of the Event cache that I, with family, were hosting. I turned into a bit of a wander around the swamp, to-ing and throwing... I was rudely interrupted on Friday night by the Try Hards arriving for the event cache. I was forced to complete the cache on Saturday morning before the rest of the campers showed. Stealth is a requirement of this cache. I heard an approaching vehicle, lay back and watched the Monkeys drive on up to the campsite. As I had left my backpack at another waypoint I had no swaps.
Well done Ropes and Jumbuck... the perfect cache for the perfect weekend.

Vintage? Veteran? I'd like to think of us as mature age cachers in a sort of immature sort of way.
A very Monty Python like trudge through and around a swamp.
Lots of fun, good one guys.

Found this one in the company of 5 other vintage geocachers... We obviously made a few wrong choices along the way, and even visited one Waypoint twice before finding the end goal...
It was a great way to explore the area surrounding the camp-site... Radios enabled Swampy to taunt and mislead us all the way through the camp...
