We placed this cache, at a time when there was only one other cache in existence between Hobart and Launceston. It was placed to break the boredom of the Midlands Highway, for geocachers travelling between north and south Tassie.
Thankyou Graham51 and blossom*, for the your alert that our cache has been muggled. (Thankyou also to Snuva, for replacing it when previously muggled, not so long ago!).
It's time to archive 'Spring High'. There are now many more, interesting caches placed along the highway between north and south .... and 'Spring High' has served it's purpose!

Well, I count this as "found" since I did find the lid of the cache and a pink pen!
I think the problem with the current site is that the tree has grown so much that it is quite clear underneath now and every passing driver can see you looking under the tree.
A better spot would be 100m south where there are some denser trees to shield you from the muggles sight.

Stopped in to get this cache and it was pretty obvious where it should be. However only the lid was there so my guess is that it's been muggled.
For such an strange and innocuous spot,
you wonder why we'd try.
But it broke the drive and stretched our legs,
thanks to the cache at spring high.

Found on Sunday on our way to Devonport and "my first little foray north", still plenty of earwigs around but they were joined by a huge swarm of locusts. No truckies around. TFTC
Grabbed this one quickly - after waiting for all the earwigs to run away. Noone else around. TFTC
Found this one on the trip home from Hobart. Found easily once the GPSr found its bearings. Lots of dead animals around too!!
Took Swiss TB to move it on on its trip around Tassie on its Australian tour.

Nice easy find again today - was a great stop although on the wrong side of the Highway. Swapped flags, Tassie Devil, Lizard Pen for two wash and wax satchels.
One of several 'break the trip' caches I did today, but unlike others this was a successful search. A nice spot to visit on a cool, overcast morning
Cheers,

An easy find... nice to break up the long, hot, trip from Bruny Island to Burnie with some caching stops. TFTC.

Three consecutive DNF's = maintenance check!! Will check out this cache (most likely missing cache??), when we're next down that way.
With the rocks under the tree spread about this one looks like it has gone! I searched for a while but gave up.
Coords put me in the middle of a wattle tree so it definately seemed like the right place but no luck
We were heading the wrong way to stop easily so we had to go past and find a place to do a U turn. Once done we returned to find the area deserted so started our search. The GPSr pointed to a very likely location but unfortunately nothing there. We broadened our search with no luck and the GPSr kept insisting we should be at the first location. We checked again just in case but it was not to be today.
We will keep an eye on this one and hope it was our cache blindness and not the cache missing.

A nice quick leg stretch and find on our journey to Hobart. Thanks for the hunt, Waterwells.
Cold windy morning, found cache easily, TNLNSL, TFTC. We were a bit worried about the possibility of truckie muggles - but thankfully all clear!!!
Found while on a working trip to Tasmania, good hide although it was full of bugs, no damage, we secured the lid a little better this time

Swapped coins travelling home from dragonslayers event. Cache a bit over stuffed for travel bugs so only one echange.
Found while travelling south to attend Dippys Do.
A million buggy things had set up camp on top of the cache but soon ran away.
Many thanks Waterwells.

Thankyou soooo muchly Snuva, for doing the maintenance and replacing the container for us! You're an absolute gem!
Found this one whilst heading north to a cachaholics meeting along with jaktas.

At 16.00h EDST, I thought the rolling green hills looked lovely, almost reminding me of New Zealand. A very easy find, it needs better camo, a new box and a new lid. Took - 2 X Geocoins. Left - TB Cheesey. TFTC
A nice quick easy find to get us started on our caching trip up north. Muggle truck driver appeared to not notice us acting suspiciously at GZ. TFTC Waterwells, TNLN. Maybe worth replacing the lid in the not too distant future, as it had a chunk missing out of it and water appears to be getting in.
Very easy to find. First of 35 caches on this trip heading north with my caching mates Red Tag and Rebulus. Thanks for the cache Waterwells
An easy find because the cache was visible. First one on our trip North which turned out to be very enjoyable and successful. Thanks Waterwells. TNLN
Dropped off 2 geocoins: GGZQFP and CCHQ8X.
The container needs to be replaced as the lid is cracked. Next rain shower may cause some dampness!

The MadMyers - the freezing MadMyers - being from sunny warm Queensland - dashed in and grabbed this cache today. We also grabbed the travel bug. Took a historical figurine which MadMOO has gone mad about that someone leaves here in Tassie in caches. We left some stretchy rabbits and a chicken in its place.
Dropped by on a daytrip up the middle of the state from Hobart. Seemed like a good spot to give TB 'The Family Wagon' a head start in its race to Brisbane.

Found no problems. Lid of cache is very cracked. Obviously the rock on top has be dropped on it. Still dry though.

Second find on trip North. I wonder what passersby thought I was doing in those bushes.
Thought it was about time to nab this one, finally a chance with no truckies in the lane. Easy find, had a quick flick through the log book - lots of finds.
TNLNSL, thanks.
TNLNSL, thanks.
Bit hard to hide this one - thanks for the coffee, our supply had just exhausted. TFTH
Found 200705161208 . With the muggles racing by on the highway, the GPSr stayed in the RhinoMobile while I flexed over to GZ for an easy find of the surprisingly large cache

Easy find, second of the day.
Container lid has a large crack, but the contents were still dry. Fortunately there weren't any truckies around at the time.
Thanks for the cache.

A nice easy find on my wasy south. Had a bit of a break and in the lull of cars retrieved this very easy cache. thanks waterwells
The very dry country side is nearly as bad as home, hopefully things will change this year. Easy find could see gz from the vehicle. Thanx for the stop.
Our 3rd last cache for our Tassie trip... good to have an easy one on our way back to Devonport. Had to remove a bug (a live one not a TB!) from the log book bag, otherwise TNLN. TFTC.
Rated: for Overall Experience
Easy find. Had to avoid passing traffic to sign log. The country side was very dry and badly needed rain. TNLNSL.TFTC.
2nd find on our trip north. Noted the log entry by the relieving muggle. We removed the cigarettes, took Hawian campervan and left a mondo (I think).
Thanks for this cache.
Thanks for this cache.
I checked on this and another up the road today.
It is still there - was not in its hidey hole but had been found by a muggle who stopped for a .....! It was only about 1m from where it should have been. They said they took something and left 2 cigarettes but I didn't check the cache that thoroughly.
Placed back in its hidey hole and covered. Will replace the log book bag next trip because the current one is too small for the large log book.
Swampy.
6 Sep 06.
Stopped again. Swapped contents of bags to accomodate large log book. Also noted the muggle log-

No muggles about (this time), but no cache either. I found what looked like the cache's usual location, but no sign of it...
Thanks Waterwells - good spot at night and a very welcome break before the long haul home from Mid winter. T singing frog i think? Can't recall what I left. Cache in great shape despite its recent adventure. Cleaned it and dried logbook right out on the heater
I didn't have any trouble finding this one - the cache and contents were spread out all over the ground! The container was a little wet, too. I logged my find and put it back together, and then left it where I hoped it was meant to be. This was my second attempt at finding this one - last time I couldn't stop because there was a huge truck there. Thanks! TNLNSL
A nice easy early morning find for this beginner, just the break needed on the drive "up North".Well placed.

Found easily - and was thankful for a break from driving - and even more thankful that the break occured during on of the seldon moments in the day that it wasn't raining.
Sunnyday travelling north found very easy even the truckies did't bother us. TNLN. Thanks Waterwells.
The second easy find on my Sunday drive to Oatlands (for an icypole!). Took dog and left bouncy ball. SL.
found by cachingdynamo, i found this one last time for dad too, but they stopped & let me write in the log for myself.

Nice, straightforward find on busy caching day. Avoided fleecy remains, truckie dozing in cabin and hoped passing vehicles going too fast to notice dive into GZ!

Thanks Waterwells.

This was the last cache on our return journey from the north-west (where we had found the caching to be very productive, even though we had to watch football and visit friends as well!!). It was completely dark, so fortunately the cache was not too tricky! Took SWAT car, left musical frog.
Found by TTE, must learn more discretion! GeoPup rest break added decoy. First find on our GeoHoliday. Cheers Fairly Magic.
heading home to start work hoped to get a couple on the way ,nice easy one didn't loose much time t lizard l dog sl thanks waterwells ps just been to see my new g son born yesterday both well
Another find in the Digit Dick and Hingrock head south for work series.
Nice and easy, thats how I like it. No problems with the sheep, must've been frozen this morning. Surprised it's lasted so long.
Took garbage truck
Left Lizard

Don't mind the sheep, we thought that it was wool on the track but it turned out to be snow... and it was a good easy cache find.
Nice easy find on the way down to Hobart Town - too easy really, it's lasted well given it's exposed nature! Aloysius had actually found the cache while I was getting a signal on the NavWoman - and he didn't even have his GPS on him! The dead dude nearby was a bit off putting, but it seemed to be the in thing these days, there was another one at CraigRats' "The Commandants What?" cache just down the road!
TNLN, thanks for the leg stretch Waterwells.

as horus said...i just followed the geo highway in to this one...and i have to say that its "camoflage" does a better job of drawing you eye to it than actually hiding it....but its ben there for months now so it must be working
The sheep (i say sheep...was a bit hard to be sure) sure was ripe....had to hold breath and sign log....strange really...we got kristy's cunning sheep today...and it was the only cache that didnt involve sheep...dead or alive...
I digress though...thanks guys, another good excuse to stretch legs and take in the nice rural view

NIce easy find. There was a truckie pulled in when we turned up, but by the time we had turned around and came back he was pulling out. We got the place to ourselves for a great cache find. It seems a muggle has found it and she wrote a big long story about how she found it when she was riding her bike and stopped for a loo break behind a tree. She left the cache where and how it was, so no harm done.
T:cross stitch kit( i needed something to do at nights since i Just finished reading Harry Potter) L: Bottle sealer (from another cache)

There was a gruesome discovery at this cache - someone has dismembered a sheep about 3 metres from it, so those with a weak stomach may need to avoid it for a bit. [xx(]
Mr CP (being used to gruesome discoveries) braved the carcass and logged the cache. Took Tigger bobble head and left boat shaped hole punch

Cache that gives you a good reason to stop and stretch the legs even though it was wet. Easy to find but good.
Took something left something signed the log.

A nice little stop - lid was off the cache, but the lack of recent rain meant no damage.

TNLNSL. For those non-Tas ppl - a jackjumper is a fiesty ant about 20mm long that can jump and inflict multiple bites. Targets have been sent into Anaphylactic Shock (type it into google), can also suffer severe reactions such as large amounts of localised swelling.
Have been travelling this road for years and now find a cache! Thanks Waterwells.

After a fun weekend in Hobart we headed back... but not without a few stops along the way!
This one was a welcome stop, nice to get out and stretch the legs!
The cache was nice and easy to find... although a word of warning to future visitors, the container had heaps of earwigs and a few jackjumpers on it when I picked it up! Be careful!
Took - M&M dude.
Left - B1.

A very easy cache find. In fact, so easy that we didn't even need to use the GPS. mind you, it is great having easy caches to search for. It makes up for the ones that you spend ages looking for, sometimes without luck.
Took ball, left wallet.
Thanks Waterwells.

Spotted this one from about 5 metres away! So we tried to hide it better than we found it but it is still pretty visible. This was about 5km's out of our way but when you are that close to a 1/1 cache on holidays - it is worth the drive.
We took the lavender & left some cars - appropriate eh?
