TFTC interesting to see how the bearings from the original post are good. if it was still there standing at 336 NW altitude 60mtr this should help one
We enjoyed the view here, at GZ we couldn't find anything, we used the previous post information, but couldn't locate any stump from the top step of the stairs, we explored the area and didn't find any stump, we went a bit further, up and down, but no stump and no cache for us today.
Visited this spot during my East Cape Easter 2021 journey.
The biggest fun was to go down the slope on wet grass with jandals on!
Reading previous logs helps!

Great little find......first in a while but still there even tho the fence is gone takes a bit of searching
Found A stump, don't know whether it was THE stump. Had a good scratch around in the undergrowth with no luck.
Off on a 5 day mission from Northland to the East Coast with the main target being the last two CANZ caches that I had not yet found. The opportunity to grab some $25 airfares to Napier was just too good to miss, even though it was winter and the days might be short and the weather might be dodgy.
Day one though was a real mission, with early morning fog for the drive to Auckland, untold time navigating the long Akl parking lots, delayed flights before we took off and then again in the air before we could land causing a missed connection for the rental cache mobile pick up. To top it off, the weather was cold and wet, but I still managed four caches in the dark.
Day four dawned much better with a cloudless sky but still a chilly sou'west wind. After a trip north to Tolaga Bay and a walk out to the lookout above Cook's cove, it was time to head back to Gisborne. Stopped off here and took a walk up to the lookout. GZ has changed quite a bit from the original hint description, but like others have said, the tree stump still remains and is visible to a keen eye from the top of the stairs.
After a scramble down the hill, the cache was soon located, the log signed and then all returned safe and secure as found. TFTC

For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 12 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two more. Today I decided to go a drive out from Kaiti to Okitu.
Like everyone else has said - no post and no tree. Though there is a stump with the cache beside it.
Cheers for the cache.

It is a beautiful view from here, and indeed standing on the top step you can see the remaining stump. Bag was wet, but the log was in fair condition. TFTF Greetings from
Some of the descriptions and hint don't seem to be relevant now, but looking back at the logs helped. Cache is in good order. TFTC
Day 5 Gisborne to Te Araroa today. So lets get rolling along!
Moved Zara from Okitu Lookout to here, as The Seagnoid did not realise the track joined through to this one. This cache is well names as its a glorious morning. The tree has been cut but the stump was still visible. But for how long. Scrambled down to snag and tag this one. Cheers
The Seagnoid, Zara and I are on another epic caching adventure for the next two weeks, starting with the Wellington Mega, then East Cape, Taraunga, Waihi, Rotorua and back to Wellington. Its been an awesome journey, over 2500 klms later, visiting many amazing places. Thanks to all COs

Okay, we could have walked here from the other cache on this hill. But instead we drove Zara around a bit further and walked up. Sorry to see the CO has not update the cache page to reflect the changes in the hide, like others I found no fence and no tree, but we found the stump.

Day 5 of my Mega trip: Gisborne to East Cape. Two weeks of travel with Taybeedragon, from Blenheim to the 2018 mega event, then on to my mum's eightieth birthday in Rotorua via the East Cape and Tauranga and the hole in the ground that is Waihi. Dropped the dragon off in Wellington while I continued on to Motueka for more family time before at last arriving home. We may have only found 230 caches over that 3000 km, but I qualified for 4 badge upgrades, hit the 10,000 cache mark, and even have a missing month ticked off! Throughout most of the trip we targeted special caches - earth caches, virtuals, wherigos, etc, although there were a lot of traditionals too. On the cache maintenance side about eight caches were replaced, and many more logs were added to or replaced. Many thanks to everyone who made this an awesome trip.

One week off during school holiday time, combined with some cheap flights made a great adventure in the HB and Gisborne area, popping into BoP a couple of times also. I had great fun and I am grateful to all CO's who placed the caches for others' entertainment!!
Glorious morning indeed! TFTC!!
Glorious morning indeed! TFTC!!
Found on a scenic drive from the east cape down the coast to Napier. TFTC!
From the top of the stairs I managed to spot the cache. Alas, it was not hiding beneath a mighty gum tree as the tree has gone! The poor lonely cache was sitting atop the remaining tree stump on top of its camo bag. Wet inside but still able to be signed. Will need some TLC from the CO. TFTC
Amazing views from up here early this morning. Read previous logs and as Mr JP had jandals down went Mrs JP to make the find. Picked up TB TFTC
Warratah fence is now gone, but no problem. Can confirm jandals aren't the best as fallen leaves slippery. Good camouflage. Dropped off a Trackable.

Today our main objective was to find the two caches by the lighthouse on East Cape so we left our accommodation at Waihau Bay at 7am so that we could do the uphill slog in the cool of the morning. With our mission accomplished, we headed south to Gisborne.
After climbing the stairs, we realised we'd need to descend the steep slope to find the cache. The dry leaves were treacherous underfoot so I was more than happy to let StreetWalker head down to GZ and make the find . Nice viewpoint. TFTC.

#11972. The steps took a bit of climbing then some careful cross country was needed to get to GZ. I appreciated the detailed hint. Nice views from the drop off point. TFTC.
We had to leave the trail and climb a bit down to find the cache
Thanx for placing a cache on this very nice route

TFTC!! Terrain definately a 3/5 but the cache was in the first place I looked and in plain sight so think you could get away with less of a difficulty rating than a 3/5 . don't know if it was supposed to be covered with sticks or not?? But just letting you know it wasn't and that the bag the cache container was in was full of water.... thanks for a bit of a trek down the bank haha and to a beautiful view! Also found the other cache on the walkway while we were here.
Hardest find to date for the family Heyes. Winston the dog found the going tough with his short legs but was a great adventure for the rest of us. TFTC

Beautiful walk! No fence there, but after reading the hint we managed to find the cache!
TFTC Awesome views, no waratah fence to be seen, worked it out from the hint.
A nice walk up the hill and down, on the Riley car rally, visiting from Australia. TFTC
Recent storms have not been kind to the tree but cache is still in place and bone dry. Tftc.
was alot of trees being cut down. men in hard hats with chain saws every where. hoping it still there but we had no luck. lovely spot
Great spot to watch the surfers on a warmer day. Easier to approach from the north. A bit of a grunt coming from the south as we did. Took Geocoin.
That is the way we expect a great cache to be. Nice way, excellent place and a hint that allows you to find it even if the GPS is not so sure. Therefore a blue tie and many thanks for this fine cache.

Have taken container home to dry and and replace the logbook which was so damp that the paper was totally glued together.
Have put the box itself in a plastic bag to make it more watertight and reloaded with swap items.
Hope the CO will remove the red wrench
Cheers

Given the age of this cache it was on my 'must do' list, unfortunately the log was too wet to sign. TFTC, #5437
Spotted the likely hide from above and gingerly made my way there to make the find. Cache full of water and log book saturated, just managed to scratch a name into the back page.

Found the stairs but no warratah fence. Had a guess which didn't work out. Went back up for a second guess which turned out to be right. I wasn't here for the morning glory, but it is a glorious day with 30 degrees expected today. Disturbed an ant nest at GZ which annoyed them, so they decided to infest all my extremities. The container was wet and I had to pour the water out. The logbook is thankfully dry. Replaced container in a more upright position to help keep the water out, and braved the ants again! TFTC

Day 4 of the trip home to Christchurch, Te Araroa-Napier. Bit of a scramble, beaut place for a picnic. Pity already had lunch. Thanks for the hide
Arrived to late in the day for the sunrise...but the panoramic views made it worth the climb. TFTC
Took friend on to this one as well. Log wet but able to sign on the piece of paper left by earlier cacher. TFTC
Our first Geo-cache search for the school holidays. A very wet and windy day but an excellent spot for a cache, even if the view was covered in rain cloud. Linda claimed this find and placed a pink smiley face. Log book and other contents were very wet. We will need to carry a cache repair kit in future but unfortunately nothing on hand at this time. TFTC. SiLiRy
Not sure why but the cache was full of water and the log absolutely soaked. Took the now a bit rusted TB.
I am definitely coming back to this spot to see the sunrise one day. I can't see why but the cache was full of water and the log absolutely sodden. TFTC 2188
A great hiding place... my GPS pointed straight at it, unusually accurate! TFTC
2ndis and I had a great trip around the East Cape with Nigel and two visitors from Holland. We really enjoyed this cache and the views. Good to find a cache with a bit of a challenge, instead of a drive-by. Thanks a lot.
bought the "home away from home' 7WED51 to Gisborne for 5 nights.. fantastic weather and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. we stopped to enjoy the fantastic view and grab this cache on our way back from Tologa Bay.. took GC... TFTC
On a caching journey around the East Cape to Gisborne
Great views from the top on a beautiful clear day. Had to walk the gauntlet of hundreds of wasps flying around in the sunshine along the length of the stairs - at this time of year the cool of the morning would be better to avoid the wasps.
Followed the hints for a straight forward find. Thanks for showing us this spot - looks like a lovely place for a picnic.

Had a bit of a ramble to find the entry point but enjoyed the views and continued further to see more. Left a jeep TB and stole the alien.
