12:15 hrs on our first day of Geocaching whilst holidaying in Sydney. After a brief stroll through the bush (and through a few spiders webs that could trap one of our Geo-Juniors!) we were soon to realise we were on the wrong side of the creek. After a bit of scrub bashing and leg scraping we were back on track and soon to find the apparent location of the cache ..... but where was the cache? A round hollow in the obvious location was all that could be found. After about 20 minutes of hunting in this vicinity we came away empty handed and retreated to the picnic ground. It was there that we made the discovery that the cache has been Muggled with some of the remaining contents scattered around. We recovered floppy disk stickers and the Karma card, but alas the remainder was destroyed. A very disappointing discovery! Sorry to have to report this vk2jmp.

It appears that the cache has been "muggled" so I will disable it for the moment. Hope to get it up and running again soon.
It was only a matter of time, I think before "they" got to it.
Cheers

The family and I went for a drive to find this cache and have a look around.
The cache was found without any difficulty, and could be spotted from quite a distance. I replaced it with a little more camouflage, but it should still be an easy find if you are looking for it. We had a look around town and enjoyed a splendid lunch at the café next to the railway station.
Took Shoelaces

Thanks vk2jmp

Found by Mary & David at 1710. A pretty little park full of bird sounds. Couldn't believe the feral honeysuckle everywhere, but it was better than blackberries. Not a small cache in our book - took IQ cards, left pack of play money, a luminous snake and a karma card. Our thanks to vk2jmp.
A nice easy find, enjoyed a picnic lunch nearby, with a lovely stroll in the surrounds afterwards. Had been beaten on the day by the Rats.
Thanks guys

Headed out to Thirlmere today, no trains around nor did I see anyone from the cast of Always Greener, however the park was full of weirdo's.
Found the cache easily and like others have said it was well exposed. Did all my swaps. Left some bubbles for a key holder. Hid the cache a bit better and then was on my way.
Thanks for the adventure.

Dropped down to this log to drop off Ghost 7 but found the cache a bit cramped. My swap was a bit big so nothing exchanged. Cache seems a little to well exposed
After a hard week at work, Grabbed some food, the GPS, GEO kids and Mrs. Try hard, pilled them in to the car and we where off in search for the green side of life. This was a nice easy find. Sign the log swapped the knife and scissors for Shampoo and Air refueling patch
Great spot, Good one guys[^]

A nice easy walk and another cache to add to our tally for the day. Need to be careful with the log book as the pages fall out easily.

After a very nice lunch at Camden, we headed off to find more tupperware in the bush.
This was the 7th of the day and was found reasonably quickly for Swagg Agg. All 3 GPSrs gave the co-ords out by about 13mtrs so keep that in mind when you go to do this one.
Grabbed magnetic key holder and left a mini stapler.
An easy walk/drive by cache along a creek.

While SWAG Tim, Webguy and I scratched around looking for the cache, the blackberries were busy scratching us.
It finally turned up but our three GPS's called an extraordinary meeting and moved a motion that said that the cache was about 13m out.
TNLN. Thanks for showing us this pleasant walk.

Found it. Followed the wrong side of the creek, got too clever trying to out-think others and not make the same mistake. Made the same mistake.
Also noted an 8m error, but PDOP was 8m and only 4 SV's in view.
I've been promising to go for a walk down that way for a while but never had the proper incentive. Nice one Bob.
Took two key fobs, left 2 AA cells for your GPS.

A nice walk and a creek crossing made this an exciting adventure very close to home. Found cache without too much hassle and took compass keyring/carabiner and left pocket IQ test. Hannah enjoyed being smacked by branches as she rode in the backpack! Look out for wildlife hiding in the undergrowth. Came very close to stepping on a small lizard on the way in and encountered a very large lizard basking in the sun on the way out.

Shock horror we witnessed a crime right in front of us while we where eating lunch in the park. A car pulled up and an old lady YES that’s right an old lady not some young hoon jumps out runs back to the bridge and picks up a turtle. We think isn’t that nice she is rescuing the turtle but no she runs back to the car pops the boot throws the hapless turtle into the boot jumps in the car and burns rubber making good her escape. Of course we informed the police but they where tied up with a cow on the road and where unable to attend.
Logbook was damp, which was strange as everything else was bone dry and the lid was on snugly. Might be a humidity problem?

Found by MalapertMike at 10:15am. My first virgin cache.
Parked at the end of a road that shares its name with a famous lawn mower as this appeared to be the closest parking to the cache. These pockets of bushland near to urban areas are a fantastic resource. I sat down to fill out the log book and it made me think of all the times spent with my brothers down at the creek when we were kids and how much trouble we would be in when we came home covered in mud. Enough of the memories, GPSr had me on the wrong side of the creek so a perilous crossing was in order. Looked up from the GPSr and spotted a likely cache hidey hole and I was right even though my GPSr said it was 8 metres further along the creek. Well hidden vk2jmp.
A mate of mine has been involved with the Rail Museum and I have been lucky enough to get a behind the scenes tour of the museum, anyone with even the slightest interest in rail should visit the museum it has fantastic collection of rail history. More info at http://www.nswrtm.org.
Sorry I didn't watch the tv show so I wasn't able to see any sites I recognised.
Took: Magnetic key locker.
Left: Carabiner compass keyring.
Thanks,
Mike.
