Cache found a little too easily. Obviously had been muggled, and a further look into the log showed it has been muggled numerous times. A new hidey hols is recommended, or at least a better camoflage technique.

Toowoomba 10.2. After visiting three visitor centers, I came across this park and it had a few caches, so camping here was the go. It is a fantastic place to stop. Even if there is a party going on most of the evening into the night. It gave me plenty of entertainment whilst I was cooking. This was the first cache I did here and it was a nice simple dash from the road. Thanks.

Following a visit to this cache by a fellow Geocacher we have updated the co-ordinates to give a more accurate position to the Cache. Apparrently the grass is long but the Cache is in good condition - The Thunderbirds

18-Feb-10
Following an inspection of the Cache by "Havago" the cache was found to be in good condition although the grass was very long - If you're going to look for this Cache be prepared to deal with long speer grass for the last 15 metres to GZ

#45 Checked cache for The Thunderbirds and found it good condition. TNLN SL Picked up Geocoin.
Great camping and picnic areas provided by National Parks. First entrance is the camping area. A second entrance a couple of hundred metres further on is the picnic area.

The Washpools area has had a couple of floods recently and apparrently the cache has been damaged. Usually there is only a trickle of water in the creek and the cache would never go under. I'm temporerily disabling the cache until I can go and check it out however this could take a while as I've moved 400Kms away. If your interested however the area is still worth a visit and is worth an overnight camp

The only positive to come out of this one was the good camp last night. Drove onto the picnic spot up the road & then walked up the creek trying to find a way over. There is plenty of water in the creek & evidence of recent flooding. When I got to GZ there was spear grass a metre high & it was laying over in places indicating the creek had flowed over it & the fallen tree. Checked where the gizmo was pointing & then the entire tree. Everything is wet, the tree is waterlogged. Interesting geology both here & just up from the camp. A hide on the opposite bank would be a better bet. I'll definately camp here again but will give the cache a miss. Thanks.

After getting our feet wet we decided that this was the place to cool off in summer. Left 10 and 15 sided dice and geo coin, took ping pong ball and golf ball. the hoop snakes

[a beautiful area, well worth the drive out here. The rock formations and the creek are very interesting, we have not seen anything like this before. Unfortunatly it was too cold for a swim even though the water looked very inviting. Found the cache] after scrabling through long grass and getting our toes wet [ Things were a bit overgrown as no-one has been here for 7 months.
Could the next hunter please take a pen to leave in the cache, as someone has removed it.

Lovely picnic spot. Busy on this particular day however. In tandem with geo-daughter Justbee found this one after waiting for various muggles to finish lunch. A little tricky though with spurious GPS rf reflections off the conglomerate rock surface. tnln.

Perfect day for a dip at the washpools mixed in with a cache find with geo-dad Cache_Usif_Ucan, the muggly brothers and the geo-boyfriend. Glad we brought the swimming gear as it was a warm and muggly picnic day so we had to bide some time before heading to the location.
Good little hide, TFTC.

Found this on a nice day with Grandad tagging along. Grandads rockhopping skills aren't as good as they used to be and he slipped and fell in the cold water....lol Kids laughed!

Kids took necklace and frog keychain and left a button and a 20c piece.

Here we have been before, but now with a goal. Not just a BBQ, now a hidden treasure to defuse. Found where it was said but worried for a while, that some muggle had taken the gold and the silver. Thanks Thunderbirds Smile

Found it after a fun walk along the creek. Was going to go for a swim but hadn't brought my swimmers. After wading through the creek and getting caught in a sudden downpour I could have just gone in fully clothed for the difference it would have made! Looks like a great spot to go camping.
Thanks tbirds! Big Grin

On the way back from the Blackbutt event I decided to have a second try at finding this cache the second for the day.No that I had worked out how to set up my GPSR found it fairly easyily but could not spend a lot of time there as therre was a lot of muggles around.

We did plan to camp here the night but as we dawdled we ended up in Gunnedah instead. No we wish we hadn't as this is a beautiful spot. However, as we left Gunnedah at 5.30am we did see a koala and pulled up to take some photos of him climbing a tree, so that was worth it.

Had to jump the creek, glad it was low. Great cache location.

TNLN Thanks Thunderbirds.

Very well looked after location. Nice and tidy with plenty of amenities. Found after short search. Left macdonalds toy and took snake. I think that I only wrote the time of the find on the log though. Ah well, must have something to do with it being my unlucky 13th find.
Thanks for the cache.

It was a long drive from Dubbo to Newcastle so I thought why not make it a longer one and go miles out of my way to find this cache. So glad I did. I will be coming back to camp here after it cools down and will bring Bronze. He loves rocks. Photos when I get back to Dubbo.

A short search in this beautiful location revealed the cache. Despite being logged by muggles and the area around it a little beaten the cache was in good nick. It was also first find for my girlfriend. Despite having nothing to trade I pinched an HRT sticker for my '61 Holden ( sorry, we were on the return leg of a 1300 km cruise in the old girl) and the Alabama Geocacher's Geocoin. I've brought the coin home to Sydney for a little while whilst a I choose a direction for it to go.
Ta for the tip off on a great location Thunderbirds

Found this one in a very nice spot. A family with kids visiting the pools watched me search for the cache and seemed amused by my searching antics. It probably needs checking soon to make sure it remains intact.

Dropped off AGA 00347 which I will log at www.travelertags.com, and also a brass camel. Took nil.

Tracked this virgin down on a nice sunny sunday morning with Splat-cat in tow. Opening the cache, a familiar face was starring back and still stained with the red dust from his trip with me up to the cape was "Bug Me #3". I couldnt resist that face so he has come for another visit with me
Thanks Thunderbirds, a very nice place to visit
