Have found this cache already, and visited it again to help a fellow cacher find it. Cache is no longer there as the whole area has been burnt out and the only remains of the cache is the metal spiral that was on the log book. Plastic container has all gone. Not even a melted blob left as the bushfire that went through this area was intense. Seems the CO is not interested in replacing this cache

21-Aug-16
Archived as I haven't been up north to replace it.

23-Apr-16
Burnt

10-Feb-16
seems like that the cache is not replaced yet, couldn't find it

07-Feb-16
I think the fires have claimed this cache. Found what was left. See pic

22-Jan-16
Went looking for this one tonight, couldn't seem to find it! Hopefully the recent fires haven't wiped this one off the map! Sad

23-Dec-15
Road is currently closed, I shall make a special trip out once it's open to see if cache was damaged in the fire. Fingers crossed its safe!

THANKS FOR THE CACHE SNUVA PS my Mum 'G'' says hi

25-Nov-15
Fantastic spot and the perfect day to be up there with those wonderful views!
GPS was having a bad day but we managed to sort it out eventually after a tourist group in a minivan left.
Left behind a Scout and a very upset spider whos web I destroyed on the way down. TFTC

04-Nov-15
Beautiful home scenery!

03-Nov-15
Chugged up the hill and down the track to GZ where the cache was found in good condition. La Kedi opted to climb the tower and try the semaphore signal only to find it locked. Thanks Snuva.

03-Nov-15
Up, up, up we went to the semaphore tower, then down the path to GZ. Doesn't look like it gets a lot of use!
Between the overcast afternoon's weather and the electrics up here, my GPSr wasn't wanting to settle. I checked one rock then moved off elsewhere while The Marble stayed in that area and soon found it Smile. It's in good condition. After replacing it, I tried to signal using the semaphore but the chains were locked Sad. So I climbed the blue tower for an excellent late afternoon view of the area. Fantastic. TFTC, Snuva. =^.^=

Staying in Launceston, we spent today driving up and down the river, before checking out the Cataract Gorge. We seem to be following another group of Canadians around Tasmania based on the logs.

Enjoyed the sunshine and views here. Met a local who showed us the older lookout he remembered - you wouldn't have seen anything from there today. Quick find of the cache once we slipped away.

Here in Tasmania for a week as part of our epic journey through SE Asia, NZ, and Australia.

30-Jan-15
We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the Land Down Under" ...
Great view on a very windy day.
Thanks for the fun Snuva!

The sign to the lookout caught my eye, so off we went to investigate. When we arrived at the top I had a quick look to see if there was a cache here. Sure enough only 100 or so metres from the parked Spangle. Woohoo, a view and a cache Smile Just the way I like my lookouts.

I arrived at GZ and it took only a second until the beasty was in hand. After signing the log I replaced the cache as it had been found. Rightio, off to view the view!

Thanks for the cache Snuva Big Grin

I think we managed to turn this one into a T2.5 as we arrived to find a gang of workmen plus a HUGE crane parked just up from the lookout tower with a "don't come any closer" look to things. So one of us went for a bush sneak (couldn't bash for fear of giving ourselves away) around the back way whilst the other took in the view & generally acted as touristy distraction. Saw nothing of the previously mentioned "boardwalks" or "informative signs". They must have been hiding behind that HUGE crane. But sneaker did finally hit a nice gravel path after his bush bashing, sorry sneaking, & it was all plain sailing from there. Apart from the return sneak that is. And the 6-point turn to poke downhill again.

15-Apr-14
Nice boardwalk and very informative signs about nature and history. Especially the old communication tool, never seen one of those before. And what a great views from the lookout. Cache was found too and the whole experience worth favorite. TFTC Snuva.

Made our way up the boardwalk and then realised that if we'd just walked up the laneway we'd have taken the direct route up the hill. Didn't go to the top of the lookout to see the view as it was inhabited by a group of very excited Japanese girls. Good cordinates made for a quick find. Dropped off a new TB to start it's journey. TFTC

18-Oct-13
a wet and windy day. I didn't know there were so many aerials up here. Coordinates and description were spot on. There was a little lizard guarding the cache! Hope there aren't any legless ones there in summer! TFTC

30-Jul-11
There has been a lot of work done in this area, with the viewing tower, boardwalk and nature trail. Unluckily for us it was drizzling while we were there, so although we could see the views were magnificent, it was impossible to pick out a lot of detail. Would be great on a clear sunny day.
