After talking with The Cairns Team in regards to a better approach to this cache, i was unable to find this cache after a second attempt.

After checking the spoiler photos and the photo submitted by The Cairns Team, i have come to the conclusion that ALL photos in this area look the same......Aaaaarrgh. [:(!]Big Grin

The area around Kuranda is spectacular yet very different in its style to the coast. It is always great to wander through the main street and check out all the shops, mainly geared at tourists. If in the area, don't forget to follow the road down to the lookout overlooking the train platform and Barron Falls....well worth the drive.

Will see if i can can get here tomorrow for one last look.......

Arrgh we spent way too long looking for this, we should have read the logs! Disable it!

Blimey! We were in the area so figured we'd have a crack at what seemed the impossible after reading the other logs. After getting flashbacks of patrolling through murderous tropical jungle, we got a good enough reading to carry on looking. But, after being lifted off my feet by the wait a while, we figured that the nearby bat house was a better place to seek out. Someone please find this!

Today myself and team partner visited the Kuranda travel bug hotel cache at the request of the owners to move it, we spent over an hour determining it's location again but unfortunately was unable to locate the container due to a large tree that had fallen and covered the area of the cache, also taking with it some lower lying forest foliage.
Because of this we recommend that the cache be archived, we will return again on a sunny day to attempt to find the cache. We have taken some pic's and will attach them for viewing.

Spent way too much time looking for this one. We were unable to get any GPS coverage at all when in the trees. Suggest that cache be relocated to a more accessible location, since almost all visitors seem to be having the same problem.

Lovely location. Got to within 30m of cache. Too many prickles and thorns. For a 2/2 rating, this one is too much. We were bleeding and our clothing ripped trying to access GZ. If it wasn't for the fact you're in a park you'd bush bash through although a machette would be required. Perhaps the cache could be relocated to a more reasonable spot. When working in thick bush which interferes with satelite readings, why place it so deeply in the 'jungle'? Perhaps under the boardwalk somewhere would be more appropriate.Sad[?]

Didn't find after searching for a long time...This is not a fun cache IMHO.

For such a nice part of the world its a shame the cache is not hidden in a more friendly area....

BTW this is not a kid friendly cache!!!

Will come back though and take up the challenge one day.

Found the park entrance, but then GPS lock was very poor. We were sure that we were not expected to beat through dense Jungle to reach it, so readings must have been quite a way out, Shame, had a bag full of TB's from the U.K to drop off.

If there are any additional hints available, we may be able to return Monday.

This cache took us two attempts to find it, on the first attempt we where way of the mark because of our gps settings being incorrect, then on the second attempt we walked around and around in circles, lost at least a kilo in sweat but eventualy found it, oh how sweet that was finally to find it, the container had alot of water in it, but the contents was in a bag which protected it, we took the TB and left an ocka strap, we turned the container upside down to try and prevent any water from staying in the container....Lots of fun finding this cache....thanks
