TFTC. Cache and contents are in excellent condition. I had to use the hint and read previous logs to work out how to approach this one but once I had that sorted, the cache was quickly found. A beautiful location I have been to before, and the falls are always magnificent to look at.
After a wild stormy and very windy night in the motorhome at Ledgerwood we decided to dust off the cobwebs and head to Ringarooma, Ralph Falls and St Colombas Falls for some sightseeing and walking. We had a fun day out it was pretty chilly up at Ralph Falls (3 degrees) and still quite windy. The road had a few small fallen trees but nothing too bad until we were just 1.5km from St Colombas when we encountered a huge fallen branch right across the junction of the two roads. Totally impassable. We decided to walk from there after all wed driven about 50kms to get there, whats another 3km walk?Ate our picnic lunch at the fallen tree. By the time we got back from the thundering falls at 3pm the council were chainsawing the branch. Luckily wed moved the Jimny further back down the road to the river. All 3 caches we found at the 2 sets of falls were quite the adventure, in the end all 3 were found.Weather stayed decent for the day until we got back to camp and it started to rain again. Spotted an echidna and a wombat plus a couple of feral cats. This is what caching is about, what an adventure so much better than sitting behind a desk all day. So lucky we are able to do this trip.Took ages to find this one, eventually realized that the instructions were from the start of the boardwalk not the viewing platform . Once I was starting from the right spot the instructions made perfect sense and cache was found in great condition. Loved the falls they were thundering today. TFTC
Tftc. Took a bit of finding. The large toppled tree fern at the back of the rock did not help.
No luck here. Im guessing recently fallen tree ferns have hidden the prize. Still worth the walk though with an amazing view to be had nearby.
I have no idea what you were thinking putting a container in a place with no wifi! Whenever we got to the place it said it changed and said it was another 10 metres away.
We read the description carefully and followed the instructions, it still took a little while to locate the container. The waterfall here is amazing. Thanks for the hide Swampy.
A day out to the magnificent st Columbia falls then pub in the paddock for a great lunch (and some very nice raspberry and apple cider) followed by halls falls for another short walk to a lovely set of falls. To round out the day we stopped at union church as wellThen it was home via the super market and the bottle shop (looking for more raspberry cider) to do some choirs (mainly lawn mowing) at the shack we had borrowed for the week. Took me ages to find this sucker. Just had to follow the instructions and then walk over a hump to find the cache. Coordinates were way out but that is expected on an old cache. Tftc
A visit to St Columba's Falls on a glorious day. The description led us directly to the GZ, and I'm pleased to report that the log is only slightly damp, and still possible to write in no problem

Visited St Colomba Falls and went to find this cache. Took a bit of scratching to find this one. Found the cache in good dry condition. Thanks!
We continued today our tour in Tasmania, AUS, and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.
The weather was - said in one word – simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood.
The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging.
Thanks to aloysius7 adopted by Swampy for the generation of this nice cache St Columba has fallen (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.
PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they appeared.
Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood.

Oh my, we had it on the first look but didn't see it. We earched longer and returned to this place and reached in and there it was....oh no!

Found eventually, logs abit damp but still able to sign, thanks for this beautiful spot
We had looked at the geocaching app earlier and saw this cache on the map but didn't open it. When we got here we found we didn't have internet to open it. All we could see was our blue dot on the map near this cache. We zoomed in a much as possible, then let our cache senses take over. Where would we hide a cache? Ahh there it is.
Have a fav point for the stunning location

Wow this place was busy today! We even had to park quite a way down the road. Nevertheless it was a lovely walk and we didn't come across anyone until we reached the lookout, where of course there were dozens of muggles!
We spent a long time looking for this cache and had misinterpreted the clue until we gave up and started heading back with our head between our shoulders. We assumed 'the end' was 'the other end'. Once we tried the different end we spotted something else that matched the clue and from there it was easy! A fantastic spot. TFTC!

its taken us all day to bag four caches, but that is a long story ! This was the most straight forward and last one at about 5.30pm. Swampy's interpretation of aloysius7's description certainly helped, so we quickly went to GZ, dound the big bison, signed the log (only slightly damp), shot off a few pics of well flowing waterfalls and retreated to Trimboli's for good pizza washed down with a mellow merlot. Thanks once again Swampy.
Found on a visit to Tasmania and this beautiful area. The falls are certainly beautiful. The directions/hint were good in hindsight. If only I had read them correctly. I had to hunt around a little but the cache was soon in hand and the dampish log signed. TFTC

Regarding the Hint:
Looks like a few cachers (including us) are not reading the detailed hint generously given in the Listing the way it is intended.
If it helps, follow this:
"Go to the end of the Platform and enjoy the Falls, then turn around and head back away from the falls" ; then (as described) "Leave the platform. About 3m past the end of the platform...' and so on.
Good Luck.

Hello TeamSwampy thank you for the cache
What a fantastic waterfall that I haven't been to before.
The GPSr took me very close to the cache and after reading the hint looked at the wrong tree to follow. From there all went down hill for a while as Lil Rafa and I searched in the wrong area miss interpreting the hint.
After a bit of a fall I heard EeePees sing out "Get Lil Rafa I've found it." we followed him so he could show us where he found it.
What a great spot.
This was one of the caches found with EeePees and Lil Rafa during a very enjoyable "Swansea and beyond" road trip.

Thanks for originally placing this cache aloysius7 and to Swampy for maintaining this cache.
Found on a 'Swansea and Beyond' weekend with EeePees and AlbyDangles.
I last visited St Columba Falls about 35 years ago. My memory of the track leading in to the falls did not match the track we walked today - perhaps it is in a slightly different place, it certainly has been upgraded, maybe my memory is just foggy. With all the rain over the last few weeks and months, there was plenty of water coming over the falls - spectacular. As far as finding the cache, it took us a while. EeePees started off looking in the correct area, whilst I got myself and AlbyDangles distracted by the hint in the description and was in the wrong area. Eventually EeePees came looking for us and then I led him astray as well. Eventually I decided to start from a different place and then it all came together. All is well at GZ. This one gets a favourite for the great location.

So imagine if you are facing the other way when you read the last paragraph in the description . Yeah, a totally different scenario!!
Anyway we enjoyed the pounding fall, after the flooding rains. As we locked the car we were told to take rain coats and we were glad we took that advice as the spray was like rain.
When we turned to leave the falls it all fell into place and we were soon off to find the cache, and at GZ we let Miss E make the find.
Now back up that bloody hill.
Thanks

We found it, all in tact & good order. Hidden well. Got a little side tracked on our search behind but then we put our geo hats on and had it in hand within seconds. Signed the log with date and time. I was with Blackers1 and SiNr88
Photo is of us under the falls on the viewing platform. The 30 mins return walk is definitely a good time limit for those unfit like myself and if you have a 2yo who likes to see everything

Out and about on an exploring trip from our campsite at Derby.
For some reason the 2 caches at St Columba Falls didn't download to my GPS in the pocket query. I managed to get the coordinates in a brief moment of internet, and punched them into my GPS, but of course that meant I had no details.
The GPS was all over the place. We ended up quite a long way from the track. Gave up there and then suddenly the GPS indicated 5m almost back at the track.
Searched around but the GPS was no help and we weren't doing well without any info. I had given up when I heard "I've got it" from our muggle friend, who we have now named SuperG (for his super geocaching prowess)!!
The falls were spectacular today, but boy was it busy! Must be on the tourist must do list.
Thanks for the cache aloysius7 and Swampy.

Had a DNF on this one last year. Not sure why we didn’t find it then as we found it easily today.

After a heavy night of rain, the falls were looking magnificent. Distracted by the first angled tree the adults went off hunting to no avail. Meanwhile geokid who had followed the instructions kept asking if we had given up yet, knowing he had found the correct place and we were in the wrong one. Turns out to be a quick find if you follow the instructions.
2/1/20 Visiting from qld and grabbing some caches as we explore the scenic sights. Great clues in description which we were thankful for as service was non-existent and we forgot to download the details before losing service. TFTC
Honestly I didn't spend long looking and didn't download it so couldn't see hints haha
Cache has disappeared. Searched the area for about 45 minutes in case it had washed out of its hide. Will probably archive as the hide is now very open and the area subject to flood.
Unfortunately I don't think it's there any more. We had a good look but couldn't come up with the find.
I detoured into the falls today
All the trees have been cleared off the road,
and I arrived at the crowded parking lot !! [:o]
Seems that tourism is alive and well in Tassie !!
(Pity the touristas only see the beauty spots.
Us geocachers get to see the beauty spots,
and the other 'beauty spots' that the locals have wrecked)
Anyhoo !!
On arrival at the lookout,
me first thought was,
"They need a bigger lookout !!" [:o]
Some "view hogs" were backing up the traffic !!
I headed off into the scenery instead.
And soon tracked down this great little cache,
well away from the touristas [^]
Cache log signed,
I headed further into the scenery and ended up in the creek
From where I got a far more spectacular view of the falls than the crowds on the lookout platform [^]
Don't tell them !!
It's our secret

I took the drive out to St Columba this morning
After the drive over the Weldborough Range,
and camping high on a ridgeline last night,
it was obvious that a lot of trees were blocking roads
Along the Columba road the first obstacle was dodging the Tas Networks vehicles picking up some power lines off the road
But it was the next obstacle that stopped me a couple of k's from the carpark
Second time this morning the road's been blocked by a fallen tree !!
As I headed back down the road the morning crowds started arriving !!
Fortunately the first three vehicles were a group of 4WD's,
so I'm guessing they might have had the resources to clear the blockage.
Which would be good,
as the next four vehicles were large Harvees and were not going to be able to turn around anywhere near the fallen tree
Chaos I'm sure !!

A 2 week trip to Tasmania to see what we can see in that time and grab a some caches along the way. This is our first trip to Tassie so we have been looking forward to see as many of the places friends have recommended as possible plus seeking out a few of the special Tassie caches and drop a few of our pathtags as we go. We are sure we will enjoy what ever we see and find.
Day 8 - Bridport, Georgetown
Well worth the drive and the walk to see this set of falls.
Made a quick find of the cache and dropped in one of our pathtags.
Thanks for the cache TeamSwampy [^] - we made the find and the cache was in good order and the log dry .
Greetings from Western Australia
This was find # 1 of 6 and 0 today giving us a total cache count of 3521.

Easily one of our favourite waterfalls we saw during our time in Tasmania - favourite point awarded accordingly, to encourage others to visit here! Clue was helpful in finding the cache - thanks. We climbed up the falls on the way back to the car, since there wasn't a huge amount of water coming down. Beautiful place, TFTC Swampy.
A bit of fan love excitement to see vancatmeow was here- we love you willow!!

Had friends visiting from interstate so took them for a drive around the north east, the weather was a bit damp but the extra rain just made the falls that more amazing.
Didn't plan to cache today so didn't take any info with us so had to find this one just on the phone GPS for location and nothing else, lucky for us it was an easy find, cache in good condition, left behind a scout.

After searching the incorrect area for about 20 minutes and trying to dodge muggles catching us in the bush from the lookout, we eventually found where we should have been looking and soon had cache in hand. Took nothing, left PT. Please log the PT at pathtag.com if you wish to keep it. TFTC
Took me some time to walk the path to the falls as my injured knee didn’t like walking downhill. The falls were even better than our last visit & this time we added a cache to our photographic souvenirs. Dty73 & AddG were impressed by the falls, this being their first visit to Tasmania. I don’t doubt the family will be back. Thanks for bringing us to this wonderful piece of Tasmania. Kutgw
Found with AddictedGamer and Youban while visiting the falls. The Geohubby found it without a FPS or phone. Tftc!!!
We visited this nice fall. We like it. Nice place for a cache. Tftc. We dropped Jeff & Lisa's '57 Chevy Nomad TB. Thanks for the ride from Hawaii to Australia.
Spectacular falls, definitely up there with the best in Tasmania. Enjoyed the walk in through the trees, river crossing and the raw power of nature. Thankful for the hint as without it this would have proved near impossible to find.. Exceptional all round.. thanks..!!
My deepest and sincerest apologies for the absolutely woeful logging time for this cache. I currently have a backlog of 460 found it logs from the last three years. Yikes! Obviously, many of these will be difficult to remember and with such a big backlog I simply have to do a default log (other than a few special favourites along the way). I am writing this on the 18th of May 2019, when this log is for 08/07/2017 Thanks to all of the owners and sorry for the pitiful log!
Came today for the falls but had to get the cache of course!! Tftc still there once i learnt how to follow instructions lol falls were flowing amazingly aswell
On the way from st. Helens to launceston! Its a really nice walk down to the falls!! Tftc
Just stunning. A must see. Should have read the description properly and would have saved time. TFTC
Definitely the best falls we've seen this trip. Loved this place. Thanks for bringing us here.
I missed the obvious on the first pass. Read some previous logs and went straight to it.
A wonderful place well worth the visit.

My 500th cache! And what an incredible place!! I would have described the location as 3m before the ramp. There were many muggles which slowed us down but when we found the rock we knew straight away. A perfect milestone cache! Thanks.
Fantastic waterfall. Find the right tree (before the ramp) and it will less impossible. Thanks very much.

At least one good thing about the rain - falls were very impressive today. The GPS had us all over the place, but with such a great description it was no problem to find the cache. Great hide and a great place, TFTC
Great walk to see these falls gps had us all over the shop but we looked around and found the cache tftc
I liked this tricky hide, took me a while for the gps to settle amongst the trees , had no hint only the gps co-ords but I got it. TFTC
Just had to find the right tree to start with then a quick find. Falls spectacular at the moment. TFTC
This waterfall is amazing ! It would be the biggest one I've ever seen ! We stopped for lunch at the picnic area during then made the short walk down to the base of the falls !! Well worth the effort of the walk back up ! Tftc
Heading up the North West Coast after visiting family in the state. A cousin of mine had suggested I make a stop here to take in the beauty of the waterfall. Finding this one has taught me the importance of reading and re-reading the description as I spent way to long search at the wrong rock. A nice easy find once I had the right rock. Thanks for placing this cache in a great location for me and others to enjoy. TFTC
Found on a days driving, walking and caching for father's day. Plenty of water flowing today. Beautiful sight. TFTC
Had a nice walk down with the family to look at the falls. The GPSr was next to useless as it put me no where near the cache. Glad for the info in the cache description as we would never found it. Sent the kids to find it and they were blind. Wife found it in seconds. TNLNSL TFTC
