Spent most of the afternoon trying to pick this apart. Like everybody else, WP1 is a mystery and I just PAF. I found *some* numbers at WP1 but they didnt seem particularly helpful. The PAF netted some useful numbers and gave a potential, if not murky, GZ. Spent an age doing circles but cant seem to find anything. Out of luck and out of ideas, I give up.
Well! The Sallies know how to uplift the fallen - they very kindly sent a hint so explicit, it needed a censorship rating. So we couldn't not take advantage, and drove past on the way back from Boulder Bay. We were in the wrong place yesterday by a few metres - this time, Mr D cleared away the detritus and it was obvious. Sat in the shade nearby to have afternoon tea and crunch the numbers. Then another view from the final, GZ spot on. Had an idea what we might be looking for... Mr D scanned and spotted... hooray! What a lovely Hogmanay gift - thank you Sallies!
Add our name to the list of those who couldn't find WP1! We did the Woolston river walk this morning, with an extension to see this interesting river meander https://ohrn.nz/woolston/
.. and to search... .... ....!
The tide was coming in as fast as you could walk!
CO has kindly sent an extra hint, but I think we would need a person standing there with big stick pointing right at it...

We can’t find the first waypoint numbers even with the kind Lyttletonwitch and LittleTan. Waaah!! It’s probably right under our eyes.
WE GOT IT!!! Thanks for your persistence Lyttletonwitch. Found with LittleTan. That was a cool cache. Thought we would NEVER find it. Tftc.
SO SO SO glad to finally get this one after several attempts at WP1- it was with persistent help from lyttletonwitch and her PAF and the magni-eye of Snugpup that we finally spotted the elusive numbers!
They really are there!!!
Snugpup made the find at the final- in a spot I already *thought* I'd checked
It really was a team effort in the end- with me not doing much of anything besides signing the log
Thanks for the challenge Sallies!

After 3 visits (two with other sets of eyes), a lot of intense searching, a red herring and a clue from C.O, still no bueno on Waypoint 1
Will keep an eye out for other finds to see if anyone else can spot it.

Third time lucky here and even with a friend giving me a hint about the waypoint it still took me a few minutes. The cache also took quite a few minutes and figured it out after reading previous logs. Very clever.
Woohoo found !!!
Had hint re WP1 from CO a while ago …..sure thing it’s all there
Whew smiley this time TFTC

The first set of coordinates and the actual cache ARE still there! Contact me if you need help. Rodney.
We (Us and busy paws) were below the cut for the first step and failed the other day so today we came back to try again. Wow I found the necessary numbers so off we went to find you. A very clever cache, happy to sign log. The hint is perfect at both stages, so read it again and you will succeed. Never been here before so thanks for the multi and cache Sallies.
Coconuts 3 and I spent alot of time at GZ the other day. Found some figures that were incorrect but we hadn't found THE figures. Oh so sneaky and very clever. Believe the co-ords and go low!. The final was found without its lid, so we left it secure as it should be. TFTC and taking us there, we had a nice chat with some young fisherpeople, the young lady was very enthusiastic, so good to see.We enjoyed this visit very much.
Called in and checked on WP1 and final this morning. WP1 is still there and very unlikely to move. Put new dry logsheet in container. Rodney.
At wp1 I had so much trouble. Perhaps not as much as the dogwatch people who just lost a chocolate brown lab cross from its foster home right by the parking area during my first attempt. Lots of people were out looking for the 8 month old pooch. I did paf 2 friends but no joy so resorted to messaging the CO. Still didn't find the wp despite hints from him and 3 visits but did find the final. With there being so much doggy poo near wp1, I decided to log this despite not having found the waypoint. Thanks for the cache.
Took the grandchildren geocaching on a windy day. They liked this one! Will replace the soggy logsheet later today. Rodney & Iris.
Finally success! Out with daughter and granddaughter for a non-geocaching purpose (yes, it does happen...) and we decided to finally tackle this one together on the way back home. A few hints up our sleeves, we finally got there!! Yay!! TFTC!!
** I am not breaking any laws. Just very behind in logging. Safely from the comfort of my own home **
Out with mum - I don't even remember why anymore!! But decided to make the most of time, and find this cache on the way back - mum had done the ground work already, and so was an easy task for me!

Avalanche Pass trackable visited this cache on a maintenance check with the cache owner.
Rodney had the afternoon to himself so drove around and checked out twelve of our caches. This one was okay.
This was very clever; follow hints to the letter and the numbers will be revealed. Our cat has one of these... Well-crafted final. TFTC
In the area today so called in and checked this one out. WP1 is still in place and visible (just) from the right angle. Final is in place too. Rodney.
Searched for WP1 for ages without success. Messaged a former finder who confirmed that we were on the right track with what we were looking for.
Searched a bit more but still no joy. There is a brand new path and the garden area had been dug over and reseeded so could the WP be gone?
We messaged our friend again and were told that they hadn't got the final co ords anymore but from memory it was "somewhere around this area on the map.....". Oh well, in for a penny....
We wandered over to the GZ we had been given and luck was on our side. The camo lid had come off and the cache was clearly visible! We signed the log and replaced the lid as it should be. TFTC.

It was a rainy day but there was a break so we used the dry time to do some geocaching. At the given coords we search probably an hour before we found the numbers. What a tricky hide. At GZ it took a while to find the cache because our GPS was too inaccurate.
Thanks for showing! Tftc

I came to the starting point once before but couldn't find the numbers. Got in touch with the CO for a hint and returned once more. Got them! My downfall the first time was that I was looking for something bigger, I guess.
If I had read the description and hint a couple of times and really paid attention to them I probably would have found it the first time.
Anyway, now it was a quick find and the same at the final. I did, however get too deep into the clump at first
TFTC!

Our church walking group was in the area today so I checked out the cache. Replaced the logsheet. Rodney.
Found on a great walk/bike ride today. No trouble at WP1 and a quick find at final as cache was exposed unfortunately and visible from a few meters away. Log was soaking so I tried to dry with a tissue and replaced the plastic bag which was ripped. Carefully put cache back where it was intended to be so it is now well hidden. This is an awesome cache, I am surprised that it hasn't been found for 7 months. Tftc, Fp awarded.
Log is pretty wet. I've put a new plastic bag in but log could do with taking home and drying out in the sun.
Found while out caching with Injeanious. We were hoping for 4 mutli caches today, and we got there! It took a little bit of searching to find the information and the hide was very cute. TFTC!
We were on a mission to get some September caches and collect a few multis for another challenge. This was our second multi of the day. I'm glad I read the hint. We were sort of standing there scratching our heads when I decided to take it literally and voila! Off to gz we went to find the crafty cache holder. Tftc.
Viva!!! (I forgot about the hint and spent almost 15min to find the cache!) WP1 was easier to find. Really cool! TFTC
Hooray! I needed far to much help and failed attempts, and finally jackpot.thanks to CO for assistance along the way, finally ticked this off! Great final too, by they way. Tftc!
Our church walking group walked by here today so I checked it out again. Everything okay but a little damp. Rodney.
Thanks to statusquo for unarchiving this cache. As promised, I have amended the hint to help those geocachers who have trouble with wp1. Rodney.
I have visited the cache and the container is still there and available for discovery! WP1 is tricky but has been found by heaps of geocachers over the years. Once the cache is unarchived I will amend the hint for those who seek but do not find! The logsheet was wet so I replaced it. Rodney.
As there's been no cache to find for some time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Back again, armed with intell from a previous finder. Another thorough and more focused search but still nothing found at WP1 despite a hint. Boo boo
Second time here, second time it was a waste of effort. Got some numbers but no cache. Multis...grrrrr hate them!
My first search for waypoint 1 was unsuccessful. I searched so long that I posted a note on the page.
A week or so later the CO messaged me some help. It was very well hidden but I found the waypoint in the end.
Next was the calculation. I followed my compass and no that area did not match the hint.
Back home to ponder. Then I realised what I needed to do.
I made the calculation and that waypoint looked good.
Today was search day. Another very clever hide. Once I have collected up enough finds to get a favourite point. I will award this one one.

I found the WP (with a heavy hint from the C.O) ever so long ago (years, not months); ventured to GZ once & didn't find the cache - and it has lurked on the edge of my consciousness ever since.
I had a minute or 2 to spare this evening before a meeting in this part of town - and this time it was an easy find.
Thanks, Sallies, for the cache and the WP. A favourite from me.

Out once again on the bike to check out some of our local caches, and find a couple of others. This one is perfectly fine. Rodney
A find made by the youngest member of our clan (Well done Bryan!) He found the 1st WP and made the required calculations and then was off to find the cache.
I had done all my jobs for the day, and been out with the walking group around Hagley Park, so decided to hop on my bike and perform maintenance on our caches nearest home. Managed to do eleven of them! replaced pencil and log sheet in this one. Rodney.
Finally!. Armed with determination, fortitude and some very clear instructions from the CO - I sallied forth. Actually, I think Iris & Rodney have been in secret discussions with my partner as she has "encouraged" me to lose weight by cycling to caches and this was the third visit to this one! Arrived at WP and I still can't see it - where are those instructions - OH THERE! Crikey, talk about in plain view! So, off I goes to the final - no, that can't be right. Do the maths again - that looks better. Get into the thick of it and having no joy. Then I spy a cunning cachers camo and sure enough, there it is - with 4 mini pencils no less. Logbook slightly damp but no problem to sign for a SMILEY. Thanks Iris & Rodney - I think.
Was watching some intense training activity at WP1 and enjoyed the clever hide at GZ, gets a favourite from us. TFTC, #5638, and nice to get an older cache as well.
Out and about checking up on some of our own local caches this afternoon. As well as getting some exercise on the bike! Everything okay. Rodney
Yay finally found it.....we have been searching for this one for some time....went and looked around the area last night and couldn't find anything. A hint from a couple of people helped and by walking across the bridge we had success. We have walked this path hundreds of times so we are thankful we found it. TFTC
Forgot to log this owner maintenance note some time ago. The container has been replaced with a new one exactly the same. The old one has been repaired and will be recycled in an appropriate place. Rodney.
Had a little time left for my lunch today, and I had already got 2 traditional caches, and a puzzle cache. I rememebered that there was a Challenge cache that required at least one day with at least one of each main puzzle type (Trad, Puzzle, and Multicache) so, decided to try for the closest multicache. Took a few minutes to find the numbers, and a bit longer to work out if it was a 3 or a 5! Found the hide reasonably quickly. great camo, although looking a bit worse for wear at the moment... Thanks for the cache.
First with the new log. Had this on my list for soooo long. Great little multi and a lovely surprise at the end!! Thanks.
Had a spare half hour today before Heading off for my (voluntary) Monday afternoon job so made a short maintenance trip. Replaced log sheet and pencils. It really was wet inside the container! When did it last rain hard? Rodney.
I went on a mad mission this morning scoping out cache spots and placing a few... My youngest and I ended up doing a big loop around to Governors Bay to Lyttelton. We stopped at Lyttelton to do the markets and got a few supplies and containers at the garage sales. Had morning tea and went to grab a cache. My wee cachelet fell asleep so I headed home. I had an appointment and dropped her off to continue her sleep. After my appointment I had a half hour spare and made a bee line for this one. The first WP had me going in circles for a bit and a muggle pulled up on his bike to check out this interesting spot (never been here before!). I was sent on a bit of a wild goose chase when I found a pill bottle without a lid. Hmm, numbers in plain sight, didn't fit the pill bottle route. Aha! Spotted it. Nice. Punched in the numbers and still had some time up my sleeve. Made my way close to final and walked to GZ. Cool spot a bit stinky today, warm and low tide could be contributing factors. Spotted likely clump of trees and spotted cache camo straight away, great camo!!! Unfortunately, the log is soaking wet, three midget pencils fell out of container and I was able to get date before pen stopped working on wet paper. Thanks for a fun multi.

Day 135 of our streak.
Had grandson Reuben with us today and he wanted to do some geocaching, so we did some owner maintenance on several of our close to home. Let Reuben discover the cache. Checked it out. Dried it out in the sunshine. Replaced the pencil. Now all ready to go again.
Ok. This ,like all good things, took some time but gotcha at last. Great hide. Thanks.
With a bit of time to spare after meeting clients and before catching a plane home to Nelson I had time for this cool straightforward multi. Nicely done. It took me a while to figure out the hide at GZ but liked the effort put into this one a lot. TFTC, Biggles.
Well, over the past 6 or so years i have run or mountainbiked past this spot possibly 3 or 4 times a week. And now, just 2 weeks before I head overseas to live I decide to find this one. Enjoyed it, and like the last finder, enjoyed the pun, although if he hadn't mentioned it I may not have picked it up. Clever though - thanks.
Out and about for family adventures. Cool bit of information. Neat wee WP & a clever final. Thanks.
And we used the new logbook today! Found waypoint 1 a while ago and finished the cache today while doing some others in the area. But we have to come back for Bollards and Bridges as we were running out of time. Thank you for this interesting lesson in local history.
We have replaced the log sheet - and it is now in a new plastic bag for safe-keeping.

Standing there calculating wpt2 when 4.5 aftershock hit this morning. Ducks all quacked, mud flats moved and bubbled and light pole overhead wobbled side to side.
All good stuff !!! oh, by the way TFTC

Found it out yesterday - without too
much trouble. Glad to have that one knocked
off the list. NOTE: Log book soaking wet,
needs replacement (probably due to snow).
Otherwise all good and all still there.

Found WP1 quite quickly thanks to the hint. Then a pleasant walk to the final. Eventually found the cache - a clever hide. TFTC.
Went to WP1 a while ago and failed and forgot about it. Then went again today and immediately remembered I had been here before. It was about to happen again when I found it. Got two possible outcomes - one was obvious so went for that one. Arrived at GZ wondering why someone would be so cruel to hide a micro in this large area - but then I found it and was relieved TFTC (#210, 10.56am)
On the way to the final location there was a 5.5 earthquake...found the cache eventually though, very good hide! TFTC
Caching with purdiepurdie and felt large earthquake on way to cache destination. Clever hide!
Car in for a wof so a good time to do some cyclocaching. Found WP1 quickly enough, and the final was clever, if a little damp. Thanks
That first WP is a hard one to find but it is still there. Final is a neat one too!! Paper is damp but signed as best we could. Thanks Sallies, we finally found it!!
Yet another Sallies one that has me wondering what I'm missing! Given a find after the last DNF, I'm thinking I missed something there. But dusk? Heck it was DARK when I went (had a good light), and no numbers to be found anywhere. I'm missing something obvious ... aren't I?
great puzzle.Interesting seeing caches in places we wouldn't visit otherwise. We had a torch because we went at dusk and that helped. TFTC.
Got there, searched all over, but the area around the path is very overgrown. If it is there, suspect it could have fallen in the river or anything...
Friday the 13th.Unlucky for some but not for us.Had a couple of visits to find the little blighter. But with a hint from Haldane back we came.Finaly got the numbers, but ended up at a derelict house. So back again and this time looked at the numbers again more closely. It made more sense and found the very clever hidey place after a ummm long hunt.Had to laugh as I nearly demolished it.The Log is wet but able to sign it.TFTC.
Almost another DNF at WP1. We had looked for this WP at night time the last time we were in Christchurch and we now understand how we missed it in the dark.
We them made a mission of working out how to cross the water and drove quite some distance discovering a bridge we could have walked across near WP1.
Very cold frosty air and getting dark when we found this cleverly hidden cache.

Nicely done multi-cache. WP1 had me fooled for quite a while. Final soon located. SL TFTC
Ever so slowly, I'm learning to turn up at WPs and GZs and just look. Less and less, I frantically stick my hand in every available nook and cranny. I just stop and look. Worked eventually at this WP and beautifully at the final. Thanks enjoyed this one. Log is damp.
What a great little multi completed over two separate trips. Had a few minutes searching for both the WP and the final which is always fun ! Loved the final, thank you.
On a maintenance round this morning. The cache was quite wet but all dried out and in order now.
we didnt find it!=(whitbater muggle was 2 close!and we got the 2nd cordernins wrong! said it was in the middle of the river!
Below the cut indeed! Awesome cache-thanks so much, really enjoyed it. Log is quite damp so put a fresh silica gel pack in.
Had a bit of trouble with the WP. On the first visit, we were not too sure exactly what we were looking for and it was very cold plus had limited time available, so decided to come back another day. Second visit, found the numbers within 20 seconds! The final was a nice hide, I had inspected it first up, but moved on, but luckily StreetWalkerNZ looked at it more thoroughly.
Thanks for a enjoyable wee multi.

#705 (2/3 in South Chch). The WP was one of those "how did we miss this first time round" experiences. Nice hide of the final. TFTC.
We had the wrong 3 numbers the first time. Once we found the right ones it was an easy find. TFTC
