Throwback to 4.10.15 with Now_To_Morrow when I geocached as Happy Walker with my sister. I had forgotten this trip until looking at local caches to find before leaving.

Can't find it

Heading north we picked up a few caches along the way and this was one of them while staying in the area of Wachope.

What a great 4x4 trek to the top, enjoyed engaging the low range button as we signed each cache along the way. Cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Went on a trip to check our "Merry Probuscus" cache at the top of Jolly Nose which hasn't been found for 30 months (which sounded suspicious).
Arrived and found the terrain a bit different, but managed to go straight to the cache and locate it - a bit exposed, so placed a couple of rocks in front of the container to protect it a bit and give cachers a "hint"

Distance from original: 27.7 feet or 8.4 meters.

Took the opportunity to get some better co-ords. Hope these are now closer, but on a slope it is always difficult.

There are very nice views up here. Unfortunatly I was unable to find the cache. A tree has fallen over near GZ which made the search a bit harder and eventually I had to give up. Thanks

I went with Fitzy_1965 for a long weekend drive up the east coast to Port Macquarie caching along the way and visiting several new towns and villages. A highlight was a get together with Pprass & Kat after a few mega 4wd climbs in the afternoon. Day 2 found us caching around Taree before heading to Wauchope for the afternoon. Several fun trails on hills, but a complete camping fail, so we ended up hiding from the rain in a Pt Macquarie Hotel.

I was a bit surprised to see a TD series here, but the track was fun and views from the top and nearby were will worth dodging the bikers, motorised and pedal power.

Thanks for the cache pprass

21,945. Found during an epic trip up to Port Macquarie and back with albida33 over a 4 day weekend. Often signed as F65 A33.

With a loose plan on paper we headed off early yesterday from Goulburn and aimed to be around Taree for our first night in the swags. Drove straight through to north of Sydney (including through the new NorthConnex tunnel - awesome not having to do Pennant Hills Road ever again) and arrived in Taree and set up at the Taree Showgrounds. This morning after breakfast we packed up and hit the caching trail. This was the next find of the day. We came up here doing The Drover's series of caches, and this was a great bonus cache up the top. Fantastic views. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then headed off to the next one.

Thanks pprass !!

After retrieving my GPSr from the first holiday house where the 5 year old had left it in a pot plant the day before we decided to swing by these caches. Given we were not planning on caching the kids didn't have shoes and the wife was only in thongs. We turned up the track and said we would stop when we didn't think the XV could handle the terrain any longer. Surprsing we made it 300m from the top and stopped next to 4x4 low range where we turned around in the drainage ditch. The only oh no moment we had was when the wheels free spun for a bit in the softer material of the drainage ditch before gripping and pulling us out. Very happy to have made this far and we would now not buy a car that isn't AWD with a little bit of clearance. Although the wife said the new car would be banned from off road caching for a while if we ever get a new one. So we set off the rest of the way up on foot. I was carrying the 5 year old and the 2 year old was with mum. Got to the top and left everyone standing on the guy wire concrete anchors whilst i went to found this one. A quick find after dodging the some wacky tabacy paraphernalia. Then we admired the view and took some photos. TFTC

After reaching the top, i understand why the trail is still open. Great views from up here. Can see where we had lunch down there at Queens Lake. Our 2nd 2 4.5 for the weekend, to add to the D/T Grid. Spent some time down at the cliff face, enjoying the views. Is this a 5G tower. Are there risks of Covid - 19 ;-) LOL> TFTC. 22 /22 for the day. 39/47 for the weekend. And i think i got 5 souvenirs.

Out driving with the learner driver, taking his friend home to Bonny Hills and he says he wants to show me this lookout up the track. It's not far, he says! I am not the 4wdriving fan- safe to say- I will avoid it at all costs, but when I was on the trail I clued on that there was a group of caches up here and seens we are now on the trail (and I have resigned myself to the fact that we are going all the way to the top), then I might as well grab the caches, because, let's face it, I'm never coming back up here!!!. This was the first find on our (and my forced) adventure. Grabbed the rest on the way down. TFTC Pprass. I would like to say it was enjoyable, but frankly it was terrifying!!! (But I give you a favourite for fear factor!)

18-Jul-19
We made it up the steep hill easily in the Landcruiser with low range engaged for the last bit (only to appease me, the chicken Triton. Red Face ) With dry conditions making the track solid except for the loose rocks which made the muddies appear to slip a bit but I was reassured everything was ok!
At the top we parked and walked to both caches as we enjoyed the views. While signing the logbook we heard what appeared to be a gunshot from down below and then some sirens not to long after....not sure what that was about but we hoped it wasn't anything bad.
Thanks pprass for the cache and the view , now its time to make our way back down....somebody might be just a little scared Razz

In town for a short visit which we managed to squeeze in a few caches. Given we ended up with an SUV it looked to have the clearance so we just kept driving and made it to the top. Not bad for a 2WD. Well it was a hire care so they you further no problems making the finds and great views up top. TFTC.

Found at 12:25:00 PM

I didn't realise that there was an old cache up here when I planned on coming up. The age certainly explains the condition of the container, which is becoming opaque, but is serviceable. Lovely spot and a bonus trig to boot. We were running late for a lunch data, so I didn't have much time to admire the views.

Thanks pprass

I jumped out of the car on Houston Mitchell Drive and the family took off back to PMQ. I legged it up the hill and found this cache after a bit of a search. Views from the top made the 100-minute hike worth it. Another 100 minutes of walking to meet the geofam back at the main road.
Thx for the cache! I think I earned the terrain stars on this one. Maybe my next car should be a 4WD?

We are on a mission to get our average terrain up for the D1.9/T1.9 challenge near Gloucester before mid June.

We decided to park by the 4wd only sign and walk up as the road has seen better days, the climb wasn't as bad as we expected and before long we had the trig station in sight. The search began and after a few minutes of poking around we struck gold, everything in good nick.
There were no trackables in residence.
Thanks for the cache

After enjoying the frivolity of the Oz Geomuster and finding a few caches while we were there, it was time to start on our way back home. Obviously, we needed to stop now and again to stretch the legs so finding a cache along the way was a perfect opportunity.

We had a fun little drive in this forestry area as a slight detour on our way home. We experienced no difficulty in locating the cache and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our way after stopping to enjoy the view for a few minutes.

Thank you pprass for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy Cool A favourite point for the view.

Yay, my weary legs got me to the top of the hill in the middle of a hot day. (We won't talk about how I'm so tired as I had to dig the 2wd out a bit further down the track.... first time for everything hey Wink...
Wow, this would be a good spot for a CITO... but I'm too busy avoiding snakes and landmines and looking for a cache.

Ahhh... there it is!
Thanks for this one, pprass... can I have a rest now?!

29-Mar-18
Heading on down for the geomuster. Flew in to Brisbane from Dunedin, NZ and took several days to head south. I had marked this one as I needed it for my Jasmer. It turned out to be a 2.5hrs detour but it was worth it. Got within 450m with the car but then even though no rain for past couple of days it was still damp enough the car couldn't grip and as I was on own, decided to park it up and walk the last stretch. When I got to the GZ there are signs of work done to the area.

There were a few containers with names written in at the GZ but once got out of bush and back in signal reading the logs the container seems to be a bit different, wonder if page needs an update.

Found with BillHill531 on the way home from South West Rocks after the HAVOC Incarcerated event. I made a short list of six caches for the return trip. We found five of them plus a few others on the way.
Moving from high D to to High T, this rare combination was our eighth (and last) stop. We parked at the bottom (turns out we could have drove, but you never know..) and walked up the hill, then down a bit, then up even further, then down a bit then returned to the top, then all the way back down to the car. Some very views from the corner and a nice sized cache. At the turn off I realised my GPSr was missing, so I returned back up and was very lucky to find it again.
Thanks for the climb, views and cache!

Found while on the way home from South West Rocks for a camping weekend for the HAVOC incarnate event with TOMBI!. We parked just before the 4 wheel drive only sign, as I had the camper trailer on and walked up to do this set of caches. What a good climb and fantastic views from the top. This is the 7th cache found today. TFTC pprass.

A drive along this road and a lovely bit of four wheel drive type of territory was always going to be good fun!
Climbing over and around rocks is not always our thing, but we were very pleased when this one did not prove to be as difficult to find as it first looked to be.
Thank you to pprass for bringing us to this point and for placing a cache in a bit more challenging site.

I am working on completing my Jasmer and needed a cache to fill a missing month from the Port macquarie area. Mr Minion suggested we make a weekend of it, so I thought I would look at completing a challenge as well. To find 25 unique difficulty/terrain combinations in a day. We set of from home at around 4am and finished around 6pm. This was cache number 13 of the morning and also filled a missing hidden date of mine,. bonus. we parked nearby and walked to the cache. The view is a little over grown but still pretty awesome. Thanks for the cache pprass tnln sl

Heading south to Sydney for xmas and as I wasn't in a hurry decided to do some caching along the way.

After enjoying the drive up the hill and grabbing the caches along the way I turned to grab this one next. After parking nearby I was soon admiring the views before grabbing the cache.

Once the log was signed all was returned as found.

A favourite point for the adventure and views.

TFTC. As I don't have a 4WD, 'pprass' offered to take me along with him whilst he performed a maintenance check on this cache, thanx Peter. It certainly is a rugged track, not for the faint hearted. Great views from the top, ran into a couple of bushwalkers relaxing and enjoying the views.

Finally here we are at the top of the world. The cache was exactly where our gps told us it would be, which was just as well as we had used up my days supply of energy at the last cache. This is just one nice little spot. It never fails to amaze me that 4WD's can get a grip on ground like what we have just traveled up. How the tyres can grip in a spot i can hardly walk over is one of life's mysteries to me. Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for us to find, job well done. tnln. sl

Out and about this arvo by myself as I am going the CITO later today and teamdfl is heading back to Brissy. Big Grin
That was an interesting walk, a little steep and slippery with the rolling stones but otherwise OK. Big Grin
A short search before spotting this one tucked away nice and dry. [^]
I dropped my pen somewhere between here and the bottom of the hill. Twisted
And I got back to a flat tyre. Twisted
I also took the TB. Smile

Spent several days in the region as part of attending an awesome geocaching camping event with cachers from all around the region. Cheers to the Browngang for their amazing work! We had 3.5 days, 63 caches, met a bunch of new friends, had way too many drinks, and encountered a dozen leeches, a brown snake, and a heap of less squirmy wildlife, and even saw a future EarthCache being created. Not to mention the DNF due to police removing the cache! What an amazing weekend.

This cache is the sixth one of a series up this hill that we targeted while we were here, and this one was a real bonus, after grabbing the one just down the hill which was the one in particular which we were really after (it filled in a D:T grid space for me). Worked a little harder to find this one as I was on cache guardian alert after almost running over a brown snake on the way to the bottom of the hill. The previous finder had left a pencil on the ground nearby which helped me zero in on an area, and a find was made. Thanks for bringing us up here, and helping us burn off a few wines by walking up the hill with an almost 4 year old on my head the whole way. TNLN TFTC

This was a family morning out, I was with the Team of Kristie Morgan while DiMorgan had all the kids on board. It has been many years since I have been up here & it was quiet a ride. I'm sure my driver was making it far more scary than it should have been.

It was a nice to four wheel drive for a purpose, even if the purpose was geocaching.

Wow, what a view... I could stay here for days... After taking plans with my fellow nurses and the lovely DiMorgan's last week to do the Jolly nose caches, the day finally arrived.. The nurses jumped into the Morgans 4x4 and off we went... The drive up was steep, (and fun) and the views got better as we climbed.. And then we got here, and the view was breathtaking.. Decided to do some 4WDing today with Azmate22 as it's our last free weekend this year! Took the Rav4 with its new tyres up the mountain and once at the top I did a quick cache search only to discover we were standing 12m from the cache!!! A quick search and Azmate22 soon had CIH-but I claimed the TB inside as he already has a TB to his name! Took a wander around the tracks and came across some red ants and a snake but was just astounded by the views-would love to come up here on a clearer day! Also came across some mountain bikers-they sure are keen going up there!!!! The trip down was interesting but loads of fun!!!! A great place to put a cache!!!!

Found with MrGT, gangstella, The Happy Walker and my Dad.

We had a fun drive up and even funner drive back down. We found a stranded couple whose car was stuck and their help wasn't coming for hours. It was about 39 degrees apparently so we were not leaving then up there with only half a bottle of water. That meant gangstella and I got to ride in the tray on the way back down.

Loving life!

MrsG had had enough of the lurching, shunting and sliding, had unclasped her white knuckles off the seat and got out at the last stomach leaping hurdle. MrG continued on driving. In the meantime MrsG could hardly get off the track quick enough when a fast moving P-plater ground on past. The last thing she was expecting was to be run over at the top of Jolly Nose. Just as a point of interest, looking at the other visitors today, this is not popular women territory.......if there were roads like this to the shops we'd never go! But TFTC and the sensational views pprass, MrG enjoyed the drive in his boy toy.

[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there pprass. We found your cache "Merry Probuscus" at 2:46:00 PM today,. This cache makes our find count 9912.
[Blue]
We are trying to log at least one cache every day, so we can add to our streak of "Most Consecutive Days Cached", which we started on New Years Day 2014. Our route today took us to and past some really wonderful & scenic locations.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trek today. Our Jeep thoroughly enjoyed the drive and conquered the track with relative ease, we did put it into low range, but we are sure that it would have mastered all but one speed hump in high 4.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Cache trash.
Left: Novelty Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,

I am so lucky - I have been driven up this mountain many times - I love to 4WD and we have done a lot with the pprass team, but yesterday I was driven up again with my 94 year old Mother (who was not particularly impressed with the 4WD) to find a cache - such a magnificent view, a place that would never have been found except for caching.
