Kids had a great time doing this walk and trying to catch some birds , got back to the car with some very muddy feet after walking back the long way accross the mud and beach. Kids want to come back soon.
[Got it the second time, had to come back as it was getting dark the first time. Found it releatively easy after having noted about the 10m offset etc. Great walk, this activity sure gets you out to see nice things.. Out car, in clothes peg.]
Heaps of pukekos around in one of our favourite parks. GPS disagreed a bit with final location though. That happens sometimes!
Bit of a storm going through today. GPS took me off into the swamp, but I soon realised the error of my ways.
The log book is a bit damp, and suffering from some mildew.

Found it, 3rd for the day. However perhaps a little (10m) to the WNW from published co-ordinates which appeared to be out on the edge of the swamp? Great spot to walk around with all the wildlife to see.

Introducing cousins to geocaching. great spot, heaps of ducks and Pukekos - perfect name for cache. Found by littlest, thanks. Whistle out, candle in
Nice track that was just in the planning stages when I left Auckland in 1988 (Elaine), great to see how well it has turned out.
Nice walkway and views, a few minutes to locate the cache but not a difficult find. Located with Garmin 60C but no clue as pda battery was flat.

Found cache rather quickly as was in area at Auckland University Tamaki campus for a lab. A nice walk to GZ, area rather quiet except for the birds. Cache was hidden well. Cheers

couldn't find it and there were 12 of us looking! lots of flax/bush cut down recently- could this be the reason?
We had a look around the area, however didnt find it. We think that maybe because it hasnt been found since april and it has an easy rating it may have been picked up. Good place to go though.
Didnt Find with whaddaguy99, fitch91, ozyman, shortay, chris, BARBIE IS MY IDOL, calebr8_the_gingi, W.t.H.r.W.d.T and soybean_09.

The easiest of today's to find - followed clues, and went straight to spot. Two ways to go around site. Lots of ducks, short of pukekos. Sunglasses clip out, yoyo in.
visited with surgez.
the last of the days caching. nice spot, we wandered around the wrong side of the track as the direction threw us of slightly. eventually came to the spot, and it pointed us out in to the marshes.
after a bit of searching, and a glance at the tip, we were able to see our search was too far away. so we came closer and found!
Cheers

What a lovely wee reserve! I walked round the loop track and got to GZ and found the cache quickly. The sun came out about now and started getting damn warm! No exchange made. Cheers Gav [426]

LRPnz loved seeing all the Pukekos. The log book was a little bit damp and looks like it starting to grow a bit of mildew, so it could probably do with a maintenance visit. TNLNSL, thanks!

Like Navigull the co-ordinates were 10m to the East of the cache but the clue worked well. Great views.
Took TB and the karabiner, left some coins.

Nice site, found it straight away thanks to clue. Dropped of TB James Tiberius so he can continue his trip around NZ.
Second visit. GPS would have sent us into the mangroves both times. Finally read the clue and then found it easily.
Had a nice walk around anyway.

Last time I walked the spit was when I was in primary school and it seemed to take ages - nothing has changed! It's pretty cool being able to get so close to the other side though.

Yeah First to Find, but then Willbuild wasn't a contender.
I was visiting the computer fleamarket so it was not to far to check out this cache. The tide was in, and the sun came out so I did the loop, a pleasant walk, observing the wildlife.
The GPSr was indicating a area very rough and hazardous looking area for a crutch born cacher and I thought. "No he wouldn't put it in there." So I checked the adjacent, more likely looking' hide and presto!
My GPSr had the cache 10-12 metres west of the posted position.
Left... a fridge magnet
Took... nil
Thanks Willbuild for the cache
