Quick find after a steep climb. FP for location. No writing implement TFTC!#1072
Staying done in town, and decided to go for a short walk, at the slucings! Quite a bit longer, and on the way back down, we stopped by here. Nice dry cache, stamped and returned to it hide. Tftc
Happy to find this rucked away. Was worrued it would be too hot setting off at midday but thankfully wasn't too bad. TFTC in this interesting spot.
Spotted this from a good distance away, perhaps cover it a bit better. Only one target to look for, great cache it a neat spot, nice, tftc.
Quick find out caching with my nephew from New Jersey USA. Thank you for placing the cache. I have enjoyed my opportunity to cache on Te Waipounamu (South Island Aotearoa New Zealand). I thank the Maori iwi of Waipounamu, the custodians of this beautiful land.
First geocache in a long time! Thanks for placing it and thanks to the temporary log.
Scary, you certainly don't want to look down. Quite safe where the cache is located.
Lots of photos taken on this walk today

Tftc !!! Great spot at the cliff. We put a temporary log paper in cause we didn’t see a logbook inside. Amazing views of Cromwell!!!
TFTC. Nice to find another old Mcroni cache. Hopefully someone better prepared than me will come with tools for maintenance.
Log book seems to have gone. Cache is very visible - I wonder on reflection as to whether I should have hidden it
Cache is easily visible and a few muggles have signed the logbook. Happily the have left it in tact. CITO’d some rubbish from inside the container.
Thanks for the cache, Mcroni

So glad we approached this cache from the right direction, after doing the multi, wouldn't fancy tackling the climb up . A quick find in the only feasible place. Thanks for placing this one.
Found it!
Definitely has been compromised by muggles, the TBs were missing and most of the logs mentioned they’d found the cache but didn’t know what it is. Have tried to push it further into its hidey hole but may need to be shifted
Log nice and dry
Out for a walk with our geohound. We are down visiting family for our Xmas adventure and decided to do this walk again to get some of the caches we missed last time

A quick find as it was out in the open. It had been signed by a muggle. Put it in the obvious hide. Thanks
We pulled up to the easy parking spot as H has a bung foot. Were v confused until we ventured down the track past the suggested parking spot. Actual parking for the easy route is S 045° 05.203' E 169° 08.135' .
Holy guacamole what an amazing and fascinating place! We're going around to the bottom to learn about the area some more. H was going "oooh is that gold?!" every few steps .
Cache was sighted from the track and there were no rocks nearby that could hide it better.
Fp for the spot!

Taking some time out to explore the central area and beyond.

Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked up at Lowburn for a couple of days, exploring in & around the Cromwell area … we headed out to the Bannockburn Sluicings for a bit of a walk & look around … we thought it would be rude not to check out this cache on the way … found this with no issues, log completed & cache returned … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #2,250 for us.
Found with Tregearp whilst out and about exploring Stewart Town and a few vineyards. A quick find having come at it the easy way. Completed formalities, dropped a TB, and replaced as found. Thanks Mcroni for the cache.
A quick find while completing the multi and Earthcache in the area, thanks Mcroni all in good order.
Wow, this cache is as old as my son! After a good 90 minutes exploring the historic site, I was on my way back down to the car park when I grabbed this cache. I was surprised by the lack of warning signs - I’ve seen many more signs in much less perilous areas at other DOC sites. No problem at all spying the cache, as it was somewhat exposed as I walked up. Dropped a TB and tucked back in. TFTC
I was possibly in the wrong spot but my Garmin kept taking me back to a likely spot but it was behind some particularly vicious matagouri, so I flagged it away. I did have the right altitude, but I suspect that there were a few spots around that would also qualify.
Wasn’t really out geocaching was just looking at the sluicings but was thinking this was a good spot and what do you know there it was. TFTC.
Nice bike ride around the Slucings this afternoon. Stumbled upon this cache without even knowing it was there. TFTC!
TFTC found with rachb, awesome manmade landscape, shows the true meaning of gold fever!
A quick find after a short walk, the container is in best conditions. Have a good one!
Finally got back up here again. Replaced damaged cache with one of the same size and camoed, all good now
Was last here 8 yrs ago & had a DNF. Back today to make a nice quick find. Love this area. TFTC
I wasn't expecting this terrain . Fantastic views from here. Left cache in plastic bag and placed back in hide upside diwn to prevent water getting in.
Biked to the start of this track - and walked the loop... forgot to grab one of the other caches as I was too busy looking at the multi waypoints. But I will be back for another walk here with our camping friends during the week.
Good sized cache tucked away nicely.

I’ve been keen to check out the Bannockburn Sluicings for a while, and with the weather overcast and cool, today is the day.
What an amazing place... so American Badlandish. It would’ve been amazing to see the activity here 150 years ago.
I'm doing the whole loop including the side trip to the Flushing Dam. That was a disappointment. Only later when looking down on the dam from the track above did I see why there was no signage at the dam.
Heading downhill now and I'm pleased I did the loop clockwise. That's a long way down there. Shame the cache container is damaged - well has no lid actually.
I replaced the plastic log bags to keep the old wet log separate from the new replacement. If I come back to do Long Gully Bluffs I'll bring a replacement cache container with me. TFTC

The logbook was mush, added another replacement in extra plastic bag. Still needs a new cache container will hopefully organise this with another cacher to replace. tftc Testing the stalker yup still at it lol
As mentioned by others the container is broken, logbook was wet and I was not able to sign in. Hope you can repair soon. It is a fantastic spot! Tftc
What a fantastic situation here. As we were doing the loop clockwise the elevation gave us no problem, but I can imagine if you approached it directly from the car park you might be very perplexed! Sadly the CO seems not to be active any longer and some kind person really ought to replace the cache container. I had a spare back at our B&B but forgot to bring it with me.
This cache is in a fabulous place, but it’s in dire condition!! Box broken and log book unsignable. Too bad. But TFTC anyway
First we looked for at the wrong place but finaly we found this one. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Hamburg Germany
Nice walk above the sluicings. Quick find but container lid perished and broken. Replaced upside down.
Container in a bad way and frequently muggles. Moved 180 degrees so not as obvious.
*Springtime dots are thin on the ground for September soon to be rectified with a push over the border ploughing new fields of Central Otago of it's green dots turning dozens of dates from one singular shade of green to a multiple darker green on the 'finds' table*. Nearing the end of my holiday and once the majority of P&G's were dealt with there was time left over for a little walk up a hill before hitting the road. Left the run a bit late after a productive venture using an old PQ saved from a couple of years ago with a 99% find rate. Light spitting brought some cooler weather and thunder heads were building over the mountain ranges towards home. Followed my nose up the zig zag stairs without an inkling where a cache could hide up here with that hint until I reached the tops. Oooh what's that? no surprises, cache wasn't hidden and empty of TB's or swag. Someone had stoved in the lid - leaving a big crack; a pair of trackables dropped a couple of years ago were muggled within a week of the following finder - one [marked](https://coord.info/TB6M70P) missing by TB owner, the other [stagnating](https://coord.info/TB4YCHK) waiting for any owner - cache or otherwise to put it to rest and mark 'missing'. A new logbook replacement suggestion in Feb'19 never eventuated as the tatty loose paged notepad replacement from Apr'18 with kiddyboo cache owners in the suburbs signing their full names in contrary to their own privacy breech claims - (their second visit to cache), thus replacing a sheet of log paper from 2016 got cito'd instead for a properly bagged logbook and swag grabbed in a big baggy until someone - some of the five watchers perhaps? or otherwise to replace the 1Lt sistema lid or a new box before the real weather sets in or gets muggled again by magpies looking for treasure. Cache returned with a nudge of the boot a bit better hidden in the 'place'. TFTC Mcroni, the cliffs wasn't as daunting as I thought it would be.
*Auspicious Nov 2004 Jasmer dot achieved while I forgo the other hill climb until next season.*

Million dollar views! Thanks for introducing us to a new area we have never been to! Easy find! It’s all down hil from here!
Quick find, it was exposed. Tucked it in further to be less obvious. Tftc
Sorry for late log

In Cromwell for a couple of days holiday and decided to come up here for a wander before heading home. Was aiming for the two traditionals as the weather was turning but it was holding and since I was nearly at the top decided to carry on around the loop track and get the info for the multi to find when I return to do the letterbox. Almost made it to the top before it started to drizzle. Glad I packed my raincoat and as I sheltered under the trees to sort myself I noticed a plum tree yummy! Really enjoyed my wander around the area and looking forward to returning for a bit of a hike up further for the letterbox TFTC
#1205 - Decided to head out into Long Gully Bluffs this afternoon and this cache was along the way. Great area and history.

Day 3 of our weeks stay in Wanaka.
What a great walk! Definitely worth it! We parked the car and headed up the track to get the amazing views of the Bannockburn Slucings.
We hauled our way up to Stewart Town and had a good read of the information board. We also got to pick some yummy mini plums .
After reaching GZ it wasn't hard to find the location of the Cache. I now realize why it's called cliff hanger!

We could find this geocache while we travel in New Zealand. While passing in Cromwell we see this walk in a desert in the village nearby. We drive to the parking lot and there seems to be a multi following the trail we want te do. What a coincidence. All questions were clear and the stash was calculated. We were glad to make this an easy find. Thanks for the information. While heading back to the campervan we took another tradi as well. Thanks 4 the cache!
