Had a good look around, certainly the terrain seems to be a little higher now. Also not sure where behind is. Lots of trees but none held the goodies.
How long since this has been checked?
Thanks for the walk

31-Jan-21
Dnf looked till we were lost in the woods, but no luck

29-Aug-20
A fence in the way put us off.

01-Mar-20
Not here, loads of dried up pine and rubbish

01-Mar-20
No luck for us today with 7 of us looking, might have been muggled

Found after a long search....so many trees. Camped in the reserve for a week over Easter- lovely spot. TFTC

I stopped on here to stay the night and noticed I was so close to this mystery icon.
A quick read and then the search, wasnt long til I found it,suprised its still here after ir looks like someone might have been living here.
Good find!

Nice little search. No sign of the trackable though

01-Oct-18
Wow what a search, Thanks guys

30-Sep-18
Found no bridge so crossing the river was a bit of a change had no water in it but very steep climb left a trackable wanting to travel the world

15-Sep-18
Just came for a stroll to visit cache which we found last year. Enjoyed reading some of the nearby plaques from the Macquarie clan Scottish pine tree-planting effort in 1988. Pity the park couldn’t mow under the trees. Some plaques likely to disappear soon under grass and prickles. Took a key ring, left a yellow man.

04-Sep-18
Found with the keen eyes of billy! Geodog attempted to help. Nice to see a Melbourne myki. We moved to orange from Melbourne 18 months ago and finally decided to camp here. Thanks for the cache. All in good order.

17-Aug-18
Our etrex was very settled and gave us GZ with great accuracy. We then searched an area around this point. Dan got caught up in some blackberry vines at one stage. With only one more tree to inspect, Dan realised he had to crawl to get past all the branches and nearly stepped on the cache as he started to bend his knees. TFTC

16-May-18
No bridges in sight but fortunately there wasn't much water in the creek. Took a while but I eventually located the cache. TFTC scenic Routers

16-May-18
As I'm sporting a cast on my hand at the moment, I just observed the most challenging part of this, but thanks to LJC's effort we were able to make an eventual find. TFTC Scenic routers.

16-May-18
Deferred this on the way around when we met the wire fence. Back at the campsite we tried again. Didn't find a bridge but the water was low so we crossed and found GZ, Which way do you face to look behind??? LJC44 was the one who persisted and made the find. TFTC

18-Apr-18
We climbed the barb wire fence on the other side instead of crossing the bridge. Great to see a cache that’s been there for such a long time

05-Feb-18
Second find on Day 1 of a Father and Son Road Trip for his 18th.

Another trip over the bridge for another search.

No luck until there it was just sitting there in plain sight!?!

Only a little over the suggested 40 feet unless the owner has big feet!?!

Note the item from the photo is gone and I may have measured from the tree instead.

I decide to find a better way back avoiding the bridge. This did not end as planned!?!

TFTC

30-Dec-17
We crossed from the very busy campground at the scary, wobbly bridge.

We widen our search to the suggested 40 feet but couldn't spot it.

No reception meant no hints and a fruitless search.

We now believe it may be hidden a little further away than advised.

We shall return, to camp too!!!

15-Oct-17
Two thoughts re access - much easier to walk from campground area than follow any driving instructions and earth bridge near picnic area safer than old timber bridge further up. A good spot for people with MacQuarrie ancestry. Enjoyed our walk in the sunshine and the relatively quick find. Took a pencil sharpener, left a pen bottle key ring and a yellow man . Good to have space to stash. Tftc.

As with the other cache in the area, hubby was unable to find this yesterday. I came with him and he did a wider search and came up trumps! I love to see the happy, satisfied smile, after an elated "Got It", well earned!:)
Thanks for the hunt and the cache. Another fav point given Smile

On my way to an event I planned to stop here overnight and grab a few caches in the morning. This was the first one.

When researching ahead I had read that 3/4 well seasoned geocachers took a while to find it so I expected it to be really difficult. Is it female eyes? I don't know, but I decided to start searching in the area the cache was in so found it fairly easy.

I came in from across the fence as parts of the bridge look like it's been use for firewood - not real safe to cross in the slippery wet.

Not much swag in there today. No TB either. TNLN. TFTC Smile

23-Jul-17
Went for a short camp and thought it'd be the perfect time to introduce some muggle friends to the magic of geocaching. They were very impressed when we finally found it. TFTC!!

Found as part of an Orange and surrounds geomission with fitzy_1965, AngelG27 & Sol de Lune (signed as FASS to save time & spaceBig Grin) Top weather, great company and lots of laughs meant for an epic weekend of caching all round! Big GrinCoolBig Grin

Wow this one took quite a bit of searching! We were going round and round and round before I got down low and then I spied the sturdy hide! YES!! Certainly wasn't in the usual location for this type of container! CoolBig Grin

Thanks for the hide, Scenic Routers Smile

30-Jul-16
A weekend trip up through this area with SpecimenX, AngelG27 and fitzy_1965 to grab a few caches up around these parts. Covered a bit of ground and found a great range of caches. Always good to get away on a group caching run. Took a good few minutes but SpecimenX came up with the good after around 10 minutes.....so all was good.

Thanks for this one Scenic Routers......

30-Jul-16
11260. Headed up to the Orange region with AngelG27, Sol de Lune and specimenX ("FASS") for a fun-filled weekend of caching. Lots of caches found, a few not found, and a lot of laughs had as we toured around over 2 full days as far north as Wellington which resulted in 124 finds for me.

The next cache on the list as we continued our drive around the outskirts of Orange. Enjoyed the country roads ! We drove into this reserve and stopped for this one. Took a while to find but then specimenX saw a familiar shape (!). Log signed, cache returned and we were off to the next one.

Thanks Scenic Routers !!

TNLN - TFTC !!

30-Jul-16
Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX, Sol de Lune and I (logged as "FASS") headed from Canberra to Orange and surrounds for a caching blitz over the 30-31 July weekend. We logged around 1000kms in the Geo-Jeep, selecting those caches that Fitzy had not previously found. I scored around 130 caches for the trip. The visit was characterised by blue skies, very green paddocks, lots of water off and on the road, a fair amount of mud, and good company! Still plenty of caches to collect and scenic spots to explore on a return trip. Thanks to my fellow travellers for a fun weekend, and the COs for all their efforts in putting out and maintaining the caches.

67th for the day at 1720 (72nd for the trip). This was the second cache in this reserve we grabbed. It took three people a fair amount of time to locate this well concealed cache, but it could not hide from sharp and determined eyes. It was getting dark now, so in fact this ended up being the last cache collected before heading back to Orange for the night. Thanks Scenic Routers for the hide!

What a strange place for a camp site. Came from the in front side so took a little while to work out which way was behind but things clicked into place and found the large container in the third location. Thanks for placing!

30-Mar-16
It was certainly an interesting route following our GPS to get to this cache, but we managed to park quite close to GZ and then the hunt began. It took a little while to get the right distance form GZ and make the find. The log was then duly signed and the cache was put back where we had found it. We then took the scenic route back to the camping area where we had decided to camp for the night. Thank you for bringing us to this area and thank you for placing this cache for us and other cachers to find.

28-Mar-16
It was the last day of my Easter long weekend camp / caching trip. It was probably the reason most of the people in my group didn't sleep well last night. As things must go on, I packed my camp up after a quick breakfast and scouted out a caching trail to follow home.
I didn't expect to stop by this one, but the dirt road I was on went right by it. I didn't know the area at all, but I found myself behind the bushes behind the published coordinates. Even then it took me a while to find the cache. In the process I got up close and personal with the thorns of the bushes.
MY exit of the area was even more difficult with all the one way roads going the wrong way, and some roads on my map not existing, and roads appearing that were not on my map! I was so relieved when I found my way out!
Thanks for the cache.

26-Oct-15
I was looking too deeply into it. Went back to GZ and reconsidered the hints and soon spotted the ammo tin through the cover. Not sure if it was where it was meant to be but replaced where found. Cache all good. Thank you Scenic Routers.

16-Aug-15
Found after a million minutes of searching.

16-Aug-15
What a find!

14-May-15
After reading earlier logs, I wondered if I should have come. What is "behind" and "my feet". But it reminded of those veteran caches placed when GPSs had more like 20m resolution, and I've found a few of those. I was ready to pull up stumps when Mrs B shouted "found it". Going by recent logs, this one needs those special women's skills. Thanks SRs.

I was determined not to let this one get the better of me Twisted so I went back for a third attempt. This time though, I went armed with my long handle post hole shovel Wink, after all, who wants to turn up a brown snake or similar nasty. Having previously rechecked, double checked and confirmed the co-ordinates, I had also perused ALL the logs, and ALL the gallery piccies Smile looking for any clue that might help with the search. My oh my it pisses me off when some people log their find simply as "quick find" [:(!]. Anyway, there was no point looking where or in the close vicinity of where I had looked methodically on previous DNF logs, so I decided to look further afield. I noted Squick found it almost 5 years ago, with the comment "You must have very big feet", and I took that information on board for my new search. Scenic routers (the owners of this cache) said on the 18/9/2010 "it is a VERY easy find !! move one branch and the cache appears , MAGIC", Huh; that may well have been the case four and a half years ago; but now? [?] Sad With two of the gallery piccies imprinted in the old noggin, I searched with the good old shovel in one particular area, nowhere near where I thought the cache SHOULD BE; and low and behold there it was Big Grin I don't know if I was happy, relieved or pissed off, but I'm certainly going to give this one a raspberry Twisted for not being where it should be, and for such a useless hint. TN and left a great big abalone shell from Tasmania.

Friday the 13th is probably not a good day to go caching, but returning to this cache 13 months after logging a DNF, I was hopeful. Ah bugger; not to be Sad, but I'll give it another go before I leave. Wink

The last day of our Christmas/New Year camping trip saw us heading from the campground in Vittoria State Forest - located halfway between Bathurst and Orange, via Bathurst, Bells Line of Road and Sydney.

This cache was located just about 90 meters from where we camped. Crossed the bridge and walked up to GZ. Searched in a few possible locations until the cache was found.

Found it!
Found with Geodog when camping in the Woods. What a great spot in beautiful condition and good facilities. The place was full of people camping the day before moving onto Bathurst for the races.

01-Oct-12
This was amazing to think that there was a cache almost visible to the eye from where we were camping.
We found the tree and were on the money but I found that I had to be South/West and not behind.
With a little searching the job was soon done.
Took a Frog and left a Dinosaur.

Wow our first mystery cache! Didn't have a lot of confidence with this one, first went down the wrong road but then got on track and realized we were in the right spot when we came across the beautiful campground here. Had a lovely picnic lunch and nice walk and hey presto we found it!! Took cat left pirate coin, only 4th this year to sign log book. Didn't know this gorgeous place existed, will definitely be back again TFTC and showing us a new piece of paradise

Parked the wrong side of the fence and had to scramble over it before starting my search for GZ. Soon had the cache in hand and formalities completed.
Another one of those places you would have never known was there if it wasn't for geocaching as you would have just passed on by down the highway.

One of the older caches so it was great to find this today! I had a gap in my "found by month" dates and this filled it very nicely Big Grin

I was worried it would be a long search but it's quite an easy find really. The posted co-ords are accurate for the starting spot and the likely hiding location is fairly obvious too for a large container. TFTC very much!

I was looking forward to doing this one but arrived late in the darkness and left early in the darkness which was a shame.

Reading up about the cache though led me to this great camping spot where I spent the night so although no cache thanks just the same!

Very interesting cache! Who knew all of this was here? Went the long way around, but then decided that the best way was more travelled...
Enjoyed the search GZ. Lovely location!

30-Sep-10
To be able to cross this off my DNF list is great. Had a couple DNF's here and to say I have signed the log book is a relief.

Was surprised though to see this changed to a mystery cache. My opinion, it certainly is not. With all the clues on the cache page and so many finds this should be a traditional. I have tried and failed many mystery caches and am not good at them so I feel I am cheating to say this is a mystery find. I always thought it was up to the cache owner to decide the cache type. As I said my opinion.

For all those that attempt this cache enjoy where you are. At the moment the ponds are full, the grass is green and it is a great spot to visit. I can see why the routers placed this cache as their first cache hide. I would love to take my great mate budokan there, one to have a camp but two for him to get this cache and see what his opinion is on the cache type. He is a good mystery cache finder.

But more importantly this cache will not be first on my cache search list. At last.

SL TFTC and as Tigger would say TTFN

Good to put this DNF to rest as today I found it Smile

Now why could I not see it before!!!
It was as plain as the nose on my face! ...but it might have been the time of day and the light factor.

A glorious day. A lovely relaxed lunch, followed by a relaxing walk and played with the cyprus trees which were laden with loads of pollen!!! Wonderful smoke clouds from them if you move them.

Anyway, after several DNF's here, today was successful.

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation this in a timely manner (i.e., within 30 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

The cache is alive a well !!!! we did a 70km round trip to find the cache exactly where i last put it back to the last check ! ALL roads and the general area ARE OPEN ! ome road has been fenced out but that IS NOT the road to GZ ! the cache is in as good a condition as when we placed it in 2005 !!!
it is a VERY easy find !! move one branch and the cache appears , MAGIC !!
So any more about this cache just be in contact with me and we will put ALL straight.
Thanx to all for the concern ! cache ON

29-Jan-10

Again...a DNF!! Red Face
It was hot today but that didn't deter us!
We managed to test out 40 feet, 40 steps, 40 paces! We placed an arc of each around the area....Sad
Must be cache blind on this one!
Managed eventually to escape the area,
(Note to self...in the future changing shoes is not enough! Change shirt as well. Nice new shirt for shopping is not the thing to wear when caching!...)
(Second note to self....find white cotton and needle to repair shirt)
Despite the scratches, tears in shirt, ant bites and scratches from blackberries....We shall return! Smile

26-Jan-10
Great find for geokids. Geodad looked quite a few times but DNF. lucky geomum had a 'mum' look.
Took barbie stickers and left zoofari puzzle. thanks

18-Jan-10
Went for a ride out to check the cache and it is still there !! still in the same spot, as this cache was laid with a gps that would loose sig if you covered it with a hankie and being so old i am leaving it as is ! the seat is the clue ! stand behind it and look where you have come from, then turn 180 degree and do as told originally ! Cache on and enjoy the area !

This one has been on my To do List for ages.
Lots of camping muggles around, but having a couple of dogs...it just looks like you are out for a walk.
Despite 1/2hr (plus) searching, came up with nothing...but didn't have my many sheets of paper to give more details Smile

Will try again another day.

No luck looking for this one. Having looked at the clues again will have to go back another day.

DNF This is of course not a Traditional at all and should be changed to an Unknown. It also has a HUGE search area = 15m + 40ft radius = about 175 square metres by me.. I gave it a go but no success. If I had realised it was an unknown with such a large search area I would probably have not left the highway and at least not seen the very good camping area.
