Shame as I work up at the hospital I would have adopted it.
I wasnt aware it was up for adoption

20-Nov-08
Well, actually, I know there is a great Wherigo cache round this lake.... check it out.

16-Nov-08
Now live to far away to maintain this cache, so called in today and retrieved it. Thanks to those who offered to adopt this cache, but it's basically a box shoved under the path - with this domain, so much more could be done with a new cache (multi, geometry, cryptic, etc). Thanks to all those who visited over the years - hopefully a new one will appear shortly.

Muggles galore, made locating the cache a bit of a challenge. But managed to do so undetected. Cheers.

First Hamilton find, never been to the city before!
A nice walkway, GPS was a bit sketchy, but we got there in the end. The clue helped too.
Cache was a bit wet.

#11/11 A nice and easy find for the last hunt of the day. Smile As we were checking it out (after taking it to the nearby woods away from muggle eyes) a cute little kitty came to say "hello" and tried to use the cache container to scratch itself before placing its head in it, thinking there was food in it! Razz Signed log and replaced cache with no one the wiser, except for the furry 4 legged muggle who got lots of cuddles and pats Wink TFTC

A nice quick find thank you.

02-Jun-08
Little lostpukeko found this one. Muggles passed by and he just held the ice cream container as though it contained a snack instead. Thanks

18-May-08
On a geocaching weekend with my sisters TEALNZ and PICKLENZ. We chose the wrong day to look for this one... the boardwalk was like a superhighway Sad We tried the tactic of pretending to look for our "cat" but those Hamiltonians are just too friendly and helpful. Decided we'd better leave it for another day.

18-May-08
Same as Roxbury... too nice a day to stay at home...

27-Apr-08

An easy but satisfying find. A nice place to be, even in the dark of night. Took the corkscrew and left a fossil.

20-Apr-08
Found it finally. Had a couple of attempts, but have been hampered by the summer muggle rush. Decided to grab it by the light of a full moon while everyone was revelling after the V8's. TNLN TFTC

On our way from the crocodile hunt event to the glowworm cache, we had some time left and thus stopped by. Muggles, muggles everywhere. Luckily, the furry guardian told us where to look for. Gave her a long pet afterwards.
This nice area of Hamilton made us think again whether we will stay in Auckland when Rumo is finished studying, or move down here.

Took: TB, Kiwi statue
Left: Teddybear

great cache, got some weird looks!! lol

06-Feb-08
Too many muggles around for my liking, climbed under one side and someone rode over me lying underneath then as I was logging it a big group of people came along. It was a tense moment for a minute but I showed them the stash note and told them it was like a world wide treasure hunt and the seemed happy

Took oregon coin
Left baseball

17-Jan-08
Found this one while on a mission to do 'a couple of caches' during the a lunchbreak.
Had to be super stealthy as plenty of people out for a lunchtime walk, so made good use of Freezer Mouse # 2 as a lookout whilst searching.
Unbelievably the second time today that we have been beaten to pick up a TB (Pangulas TB in this case), it must have gone this morning according to the logbook.
TFTC, TNLNSL.

Wish that track had been there years ago, would have made for much more enjoyable running. Great find, sure are plenty of muggles about for that cache.

1686. We are impressed by the great boardwalks that have been constructed since we were last in this area. They have certainly helped us on our caching expedition today. There are certainly some mansions on this side of the lake! Thanks for giving us the incentive to walk a little further on this overcast and rainy day.

+ old NZ coins
- Travel Bug

Thanks

22-Sep-07
Nice walk around the lake on a medium pleasant day. Easy find thanks to the not so discreet mark. Took foam balls, left a fireman. Dropped in Geo Caching Zone Pacific to continue its journey. TFTC

16-Sep-07
10.50am. Rain deterred us from a walk around the lake so we took a shorter route. Rain also did not deter muggles so our search, location and exchange and the return were punctuated by diversions as joggers, walkers, rowers etc came and went. No other difficulties and we were very impressed with the part of the walkway we did explore. Will come again to do the entire circuit. Enjoyed watching a family of ducks including three little chicks and then a similar family of Pukeko's. It was just the right kind of day for them.
+ Magnetic pen and toy.

08-Oct-06
I arrived at GZ just after a family who decided to stop 10m from the cache. Rather than draw attention to myself, I went back the way I had come and waited them out. Once they had gone I had the walkway to myself and could find the cache and log it undisturbed.

07-Oct-06
Oh no, someone was sitting right there, right where we wanted to look. Had to stop and get out the camera, an obliging pukeko was hanging around. The others left and it was an easy find.
Out TB

Weekend activity full on. Managed to find a gap to enter log nice spot

28-Feb-06
Dropped in again, and left a pencil sharpener. Sharpened the pencil with the log, and made a log entry that can be read this time. Had to carefully avoid muggles again, on a cooler but pleasant evening for a walk around the lake.

22-Feb-06
Been here before with Butterfly_Lady, so went for an evenings walk around the lake, with the express purpose of dropping off a TB. Looks like half of Hamilton likes to walk around the lake on a late summer’s evening too! Muggles everywhere! Managed to jump in and out in rare gaps though. Pen not working well , and the only pencil is brand new, never sharpened! I managed to scratch a few words with the pen, I think I will go for another walk around the lake in a week or so, and drop in a pencil sharpener.
A great place for a cache!

Dropped in TB Crocodile Flocke – he looked like he wanted to hang around the muddy shores of this lake for a little while.

Found it, after much scrambling in the swampy mud. Eventually found it on opposite side of boardwalk than indicated by GPS. Encrypted clue also led us astray! Spent a good 10 minutes searching the area.... including inside of hollowed tree stump / felled tree. But persistence pays off.....
