Cache is in Good Condition.I have changed some of the formulae as over the last 20 years some of the landmarks have changed. Please let me know if there are any problems with my changes. This is an oldie but a goodie and a good tour of our Warburton, enjoy.Regards from Victourer

Thanks for the cache Nut cache,, I thought I'd give this one a go, I got halfway and then my wife rang and of course I had other priorities. But I came back to this evening to finish the cache. My calculations were a bit out because I think one of the bridges has been modified, down by the oval, but by then I knew the them so I reset let the next location and got pretty close to the area where the hint helped me make the final Discovery. Regards from Victourer
Headed to the Warburton area with team milljrh and Truffle the geopup to tackle some of this Lord of the Rings series. Started with brunch at Little Joe cafe then commenced this multi. We met a few challenges along the way but managed to stay on course thanks to some common sense and using the river as our guide. It was a pleasant and easy walk on a hot day. We arrived at GZ confident we were in the right spot, then ranged out using the hint... the container (which does indeed have a broken lid) was soon to hand. Signed the log, left some swaps, took nothing, visited some TBs. It took a few hours all in all. A small reward for the effort, but glad to have done it! TFTC
With ellenvgreg on the first of our LOTR caches. Nice flat trip on a sunny day, so many people floating down the Brandywine on donuts and unicorns and flamingos. Great to be doing a LOTR tribute with E.
We definately felt like Frodo today. In the morning we took the bicycles and rode happy and unaware of the difficulties we will be confronted with from the town of Hobbiton, no sorry Warburton caravan park to the starting coords of this journey. Pen and paper were our tools and we counted and used our best mathematical skills but along the way we got lost and the happiness turned into frustration. Four hours later and no success we decided it is time for lunch at the Inn. Over a good cup of coffee the waypoints were discussed again and the possibilities where we went wrong. The mistake was discovered and calculations started again. A good while later our persistance and determination was finally rewarded by holding the cache in our hands. The joy was so great that the lid broke when we opened the cache (very sorry). We tried to fix it with some bark but the container needs to be replaced in the long run. Back at the camp site around the fire we had a great story to tell. Thank you so much Nutcache for this wonderful cache.
Found today as part of the Yarra Expedition 10 on bikes.
There is a few things I have learnt from coming to Warburton:
-If you seen an LR cache, it means a quality location
-It also means Lord of the Rings
-They are centered along the Yarra
-Certainly couldn't do them all in a day!
Really ennjoyed the ride along here, thanks Nutcache your a credit to geocaching in Victoria.

After attending the *Yarra Expedition #10* event this morning we then explored the area following the river between Warburton and Woori Yallock.
It was a great time to be out on this sunny winter day as we covered about 25km by bike along these trails.
I like brandy. And wine. And cycling. And caching. I like what I'm doing right now, really!
Although, I don't do many multi caches and it seems many other people avoid them. Just 43 finds here in 14 years!
It's always good to get another of the older GC6 caches.
Thanks Nutcache and the Cache Guardians.

Today I headed out with biggles1024 to first of all attend the Yarra Expedition part 9 and then head off in search of other cache where ever they maybe.
With the event now over, everyone had hit the road to find a cache or two.
It was now nearing the end of the day and the weather was very threatening but we decided to take a look at the start of this cache which we did but as the rain was sholding off we continued through each stage to see if we could make it to the end.
A the start we were going well be half way through there became a problem with something that we were meant to count that wasn’t actually there, it seems that this structure had been changed some time ago and with the way this one works if you get some numbers wrong, it’s going to follow you through each stage but with a bit of thinking we were pretty much back on track and eventually heading to GZ.
By this stage it was well and truly dark so we made our way to GZ under torch light, once there we had a bit of a look around and the cache was soon found.
**Thanks to Nutcache for placing this cache and to Cache Guardians for looking after it.**

**Find #3110**
**Multi Cache Find #307**
I headed out early with SteMicMitSar to attend and event and then find caches in the area. We had no intention of doing this cache today, but thought we'd make a start on it so that we knew what it entailed for a future trip. Once we'd started however, we just kept right on going. Steve was really on the ball with this one and developed a work around for what appears to be changed circumstances at one of the waypoints. With daylight rapidly failing and rain threatening, we made steady progress towards the end which fortunately wasn't too far away. Fittingly, Steve was the one to find the cache and did so by torchlight as night had fallen. It had been a long but fruitful day and now it was time to head for home.

Warburton is a conspicuously pretty place isn't it? There are worse things one could find oneself doing than traversing its bike paths. I've visited Warburton but a few times but it happens that this multi is one I commenced the first time I (knowingly) visited, last year. Today I was tidying up some unfinished business and this was one bit of business I was particularly pleased to tidy up. I'd been a little worried I wouldn't get to the end, as I struck a proverbial roadblock at WP3 (the questions might need to be revised there) and I was reliant on estimates from that point on. The estimates must have been fairly decent though as the accumulated error at the end of the process was barely detectable. I needed the hint but, pleasingly, the features in question were readily identified just a few metres from my gadget's notion of GZ. Phew! Thanks once more Nutcache! I think I'll make a point of finding all of the remaining LR caches.

Out for an afternoon of caching with 88andy88. Nice little multi which would be ace to do by bike. We walked some, but mainly drove to each waypoint.
A couple of guesses here and there, and reworking calculations a couple of times. But got there in the end.

On an afternoon in Warburton grabbing some difficult Nutcaches with OzHockeyChick we had this one in our sights.
This one began with a little drive from a finished cache to the start point and then some information gathering. All was great....What a great place this was.
We followed the new calculated co-ord to the next point in the trail.
Not understanding how long this was going to be etc. but also expecting a degree of difficulty , being a Nutcache of course.
We soon arrived at the next point to find more information and continued on.
We hit a hurdle as at this point the said structure had changed a bit over the years. So calculating that this missing information took "5" or "10" minutes to work out and we were on our way
What an awesome walk through town and along the river.
The points were all fascinating and very picturesque.
The walk took a while but we kept on calculating and working out where the next would be. We actually stopped half way , went back and moved the car to the better point as we were getting tired and the day was rapidly ending.
We then continued on our walk and the calculations didn't seem to be quite right. Close but anyway we trusted the Nutcache and followed on to the co-ords and even though they seemed out a little they were spot on. We kept following our co-ords and calculations and finally we arrived at the Zero on the compas and as the hint said there was the cache container in it's glory . All in top nick. The log was ever so slightly damp but again prob more cold than damp lol
This cache is a ripper and def worth doing and take note of the changed info that wasn't that hard to work out but hint left in my log
TFTC Nutcache and can't wait to do the next one.

We were staying at the Warburton Caravan Park for Australia Day weekend so we did this one over 3 days. Zeus found the first 3 waypoints, Hera and the kids joined in for the last part of the journey. We took the kids on a bike ride for WP4 & 5, took a short stroll from our campsite for WP6 and almost lost the thread at WP7. Zeus went riding and came back empty handed - Hera went riding and came back with a possibility. We plugged the numbers in and the GZ location seemed to make sense.
As another log mentioned WP3 has changed so we progressively altered the variables until the changing location confirmed what we thought was WP4. I wonder if this is part of the reason people don't finish this cache. If you get stuck feel free to message me.
After a very long morning packing up the campsite with 3 tired and cranky kids, we took a final short bike ride to what we hoped was GZ - a lot of effort had gone in to get to this point. . . Nope, nothing there . . . So using all available information in the cache description, we used our caching senses and HALLELUJAH - there it was. Hera made the retrieval (look out for spiders) and Zeus said "Thank $@*& for that!" The kids didn't care - they just wanted to keep riding their bikes. (Our calcs had over-shot GZ by about 130m) This was a really enjoyable family meander bringing up 400 finds, thanks Nutcache.

This was a nice walk along the Yarra and to my surprise this is an really unloved cache. Weird. The final cache was found without problems but I referred to the hint.
Thanks and cheers

Today's weather looked ideal for another run this time thru another area of the Warburton region. The target today was Mt Ritchie and a particular cache with a rare D/T combo for project 81. Started early (7am) being pick up by Ahomburg and after grabbing a much needed coffee and supplies in town we were ready to start the run. Today's run resulted in 22 finds and 2 years worth of unlovness. another epic run and big km's clocked on foot.
This was the first cache found today and one that I started ages ago. However recently a short cut was discovered and so this morning was finally at GZ where after a brief search the cache was in hand. Found during a gap in the muggles traffic. TFTC Nutcache

Today was my final training run (walk) for the Oxfam Trailwalker event that I was taking part in next Friday as part of team "Nightcaching Australia" and who better to do it with then my caching partner in crime, sedgwickDave for some walking, caching including some unloved caches. I headed out early picking up dave, then heading straight to Warburton where we grabbed coffee and baked goods from the bakery before heading for our first cache.
This was the first cache of the day, one we had both started individually in the past, but ran out of time. A recent shortcut provided us with some help on this one and we were soon wandering along a beautiful river towards GZ. Once there we had to wait for a couple of muggles to pass by, including one that may have been a cacher and asked us what we had found!! anyway, we answered with a nothing and soon after, dave discovered the well hidden cache.
Thanks to Nutcache for the hide, another LR crossed off the list. TNLN

Having a wander beside the Brandywine was the main objective for the day so after a quick lunch and with the day warming up, I set off. The first couple of way points were no trouble but, as others have mentioned before me, the bridge at WP3 has changed. The bridge at WP4 was easy enough to find without the required numbers but it was still necessary to try and work out what they should be as you are using cumulative answers.
I seemed to be going OK but after another three way points, I did seem to have an error of about 30 metres. Was this going to be a problem? Possibly but I pressed on anyway making suitable allowances as I went. The bridge at WP7 was another problem as much of it has been demolished, probably by a falling tree. There was enough left, however, to make logical deductions about the correct answers.
On I went towards the cache. Making suitable allowances for the error and using all the information provided, I finally found it. The cache itself was cracked and all the contents were wet. I have put it back "upside down" to try and keep things a bit drier but it does need to be replaced.
Thanks Nutcache for this interesting walk along the "Brandywine".

Cache container cracked and needs replacing. Calculation at WP3 needs changing to align with changes to bridge.
We didn't feel like anything strenuous today, so this was the perfect cache - a very pleasant, easy walk along the river on a nice day. There are no longer any "strands of wire" at WP3, which added to the challenge, but we figured it out anyway. The final GZ coordinates were some way off from what we had worked out (and looking at the logbook, we weren't the only ones!), but luckily the hint made it clear where to look and the cache was soon in hand! Yes, it's is still there after 15 months of no finds. A bit damp, but otherwise in good condition.
Scottiew showed this one to me as we went for a sleep walk (for the grand daughter).
Excel was handy for this one, especially to try some variables from home I wasn't certain of.
My 2YO fell asleep half way to GZ from home - the intention - YAY!
Took caterpillar, left mole and Caching Together Forever TB (very cute!)
TFTC, (I'd double check the maths though - I overshot the mark).

Love the river walk, great to be able to incorperate the whole river walk.
Loved it, had a bit of a problem with daughter s doing the waypoints.
With a quick check she figured out her problem and all was good.
Nice hide, great spot....

OK I am guilty of not logging caches over the last year or two. Due to 2 operations and rehab it has made it difficult to log caches even though I have been mostly chair bound sitting for short times has been difficult as well.
What I have done is create this log in an attempt to bring our found and DNF's up to date so I can resume my normal habit of stories rather than a TNLN - TFTC.
Most of these logs will not include the owners team name so I think it is appropriate to say a Big Thank the cache owners for their caches and some wonderful memories of caching adventures.
Also thanks to Team Crackers who have made our caching trips so much fun and their help in working out what caches we did and when.
Regards
Mr.Coffee and the "I promise I wont let this happen again after all these coffee's er I mean caches are drunk er I mean logged" Coffee Clan.

I was quite relieved to get this one completed on our trip this weekend. I loved the walk and the locations and in the late evening twilight the area looked brilliant. We passed a photographer on the way to the cache but he was well out of view by the time we got to GZ. He must have been thinking the same thing about the view of this place in the evening.

Found at 1850. Started this one on a previous visit, and this time Rubik and I were keen to finish it off. With the two of us doing the maths, we had this one finished off pretty quickly, and after a short stroll, we arrived at GZ and were glad to have another multi in Warburton completed.
Thanks Nutcache.
Thanks Nutcache.
this has been a work in progress. I first started this with Farmers5 about 3 years ago, and today managed to finish it off. Lots of lovely spots on this river!
Found at 12.25pm GAFF2 in the company of Squalid on our bikes.
Finally - after 4.5 years we finish the LR series - yippeeeee! We started this cache many times but always ran out of time, so this time we made it a priority. Organised our bikes and started from the beginning in a bit of rain and then went through flawlessly until we got to the last WPT and p-pprass just could not understand why we had to go a further 7km into the middle of no-where. Squalid then came to the rescue and pointed out a small error in the calc - getting tired is the official excuse!
We loved the ride especially the last bit where we have stayed many times before.
Thanks Nutcache for setting this ride up - but where is the brandy?

We have joined Pprass and Squalid for a geocaching weekend - but they have gone off to attempt a few more caches by bike - so we are persuing our own path again today.
When we found the cache (with some assistance by pprass) it was a little damp, and the container is split along the bottom.
Took: Nothing
Left: Screwdriver
Thanks Nutcache for the cache.

This cache was done in the company of pprass, who kindly did all the necessary calculations and with relish. Despite forecast rain, it was a dry or nearly dry bicycle meander, and very pleasant. What a beautiful part of the world this is. Loved the hiding spot at GZ too. Thanks for sharing this with us Nutcache.

I'd done a fair bit of preliminary work on this one earlier in the year and, although I hadn't intended to finish it that day, I seemed to keep ending up near the next wp and did a lot more than I'd actually intended. I was up to the last wp before I broke off, but felt I might have made a bit of a mistake somewhere and did a careful check when I got home. I had made a slight mistake, but it wouldn't have affected me much and I was pretty sure of where I needed to go and today, after checking the 2nd last wp, I headed off there - but (thanks to the clue/notes) spotted a likely hide on my way and was lucky enough to find the cache there . It really is a lovely walk along the river here and capped off a good day which included a couple of other nice river walks too.

Found at 1230 hours, got waypoints 1,2 & 3 while I was doing some caches in the area on the 9/10/08. Then on the 15/10/08 found waypoints 4,5 & 6, well what I thought was WP6, well I found 2 signs with different numbers, so I worked them both out, tried the first set and was not looking right. So used the second set bingo arrive at WP7, got the required info, then of to GZ for an easy find.
Took car, Left coloured pencils.
Had a great time with this cache.

Picked a great day for this one, took along my bike. Some nice swaps in here, but I didn't do any exchanges myself. As -e^ip said there is a crack in it, but everything is in good order still.
Found most of the Waypoints along the way, though I believe like otheres before us that there was an error in the calculations, though not on our side. I think the error occurs on the fourth bridge.
Anywho, we did find it and had lunch shortly after.
Took Keychain, left Santa.
P.S. There is a crack in the container, though it is mostly dry, may need to be looked at soon.

The Brandywine is a nice river, even at night. Some very interesting bridges now seen from every angle.
Most of our waypoints seemed to be a bit out (I suspect a slight error early on being compounded). By the time we got near where we thought the cache should be, we had little confidence in our location.
We consulted the clue after stumbling around in the dark for a while. Amazingly we found it soon after.
Thanks for the trip up the creek, Robmc.

Robmc Geodano Geojen and myself did this one after dark by a combination of car and foot. Might suggest to future cachers that I reckon the way to go would be by bike, but obviously not at night like we did. Had lousy satellites so every waypoint was a fair way off and satellites at GZ were virtually non existant. We reckoned it would be a miracle if we found it. We did!!!
Our GZ was more than 100 metres off and wavering all over the place and we still found it, at night. Naturally the clue helped.
Took a snake and left a tassie devil and a keyring.
Many thanks indeed.

Mark and I started this cache earlier this week but with failing light and uncertainty about our co-ords we left it for another day. Checked with nutcache and found that we were on the right path so we returned today to finish it off.
Made no swaps but released TB Keymaster
Thanks Nutcache for a great cache, some we did on foot and some by vehicle

Fantastic stroll along the river trail that finished in the dark and wet. Unfortunatly finding the cache was tricky with a small typo in the instructions throwing me off and then GZ was a fair way away from my GZ today. Deciphered the hint and cache easily at hand. A great series well worth doing, highly recomended. Sharpener in, Mondo out.

This cache took two tries. The first time we had lots of trouble with the maths and then ran out of time. This time we returned with just one GeoDog and completed the course. For some reason we walked right past GZ the first time so when we returned to find the cache (at 6:45pm) the dog was not impressed when we walked on again to go to the seat so we could check out the contents and write the log. He is getting a bit old (12 years)! The cache was very well hidden but was quite easy to find using the Hint. Thanks Nutcache for the beautiful walk. We took a butterfly and left a packet of stars.
Twentieth of 23 finds in my assault on The Valley. This is the second time I've come out here to do this one, but this time I managed to finish it off. I have to admit to driving most of it, but I walked the last bit. It was a nice, easy find at 1535. The big problem was getting the snake to cooperate when closing the lid. I managed not to get drunk! Thanks to Nutcache for the cache.

Found by Mary & David at 1600. This cache has been on our to-do list for ages. The weather had been getting steadily worse since we left home as winter had its final fling. At least it kept the muggles away. The rain seemed to be setting in so we weakened and drove where we could as we gathered the various clues. Even so, and despite our umbrellas, we still managed to get a little wet along the way. Walked to the final couple of waypoints, and even passed a rather bedraggled jogger heading the other way. Could swear the river level was a bit higher than when we began, as a result of the rain. The GPSr was saying there was still a little way to go at the final GZ, but one particular location looked very promising, and proved to be the right place. Completed the formalities while juggling the umbrella and logbook. Took koala ball, left mondo doll. Our thanks to Nutcache. It must be a lovely walk in better weather.
found by Mrs String and Stringette 6.07.05 13.30 hrs, the second time around after getting the GPS to settle down , nice stroll .
took nothing , left pedometer..
Thanks Nutcache
Nice walk along the river on a lovely autumn day. Be warned, the reason why this cache takes 2.5 hours is because you leave your car at one end and the cache is at the other end...and then you walk back.
We knew our calculations were pretty accurate when we found our noses up against the speed limit sign, but our final coords were out and would've got us very wet if we'd followed them (we also had some debate along the lines of "How many triangles can you see in this picture?"). But Ruth checked the clue as usual and found herself at exactly the right spot.

Found at 2:40pm. Third cache of six on our Tour of Warburton IV in company with Xfking. We opted for the park & peek method for this one, but we still got to walk a lot of this fantastic and well maintained parkland. One amusing thing was the look on the mans face, who was out walking his dog along the river an walked past us three times as we kept dodging ahead of him. He will no doubt be out looking for our shortcuts for months. A couple of add up muck ups along the way but all ok in the end.
Thanks Nutcache from D,S & H B-A. Left nothing took nothing as we had left the swaps bag in the car.

Found at 2:40PM, in company with Team Rabbitto. This is the longest single multicache I have ever done so far and the most number of waypoints, and one thats so far one on the top of my lists. This area is such a nice place, with lots of BBQ area, well maintained parklands, and even outdoor swimming pools. Not to mention the great bridges we have passed by today. After making a few mistakes we finally found the last WP. We parked on the side of the road but thought. Whhaaa we cant see no bridge. Walking down to GZ of the last WP we saw the neat bridge and were off to the Final Cache WP. Although equipped with 2 GPSr's mine was about 25 metres out and Rabbitto made the easy find. Thanks for a great Multicache From M.B.

Found it but I think I have less hair now. Hobitton, Warburton, well today it was Muggleton - I don't think I'v every seen so many people out - camping park full to overflowing! Well this cache must be the Multi equivilent of Milgrove track (mentaly speaking). Your first Multi will be a memorable one[xx(]. After way point 2 things started getting a bit funny. I pressed on and tryed to build some error correction into my equation but it all seemd to come undun. Finaly the cache sheet maths was abandoned and I let instinct take over. Thankfully this payed off and the cache was found after my third attempt at estimating its wareabouts.
The area I liked best was that near GZ as it was less muggleised. Over the entire time I saw plenty of ducklings and ducks and the furthest I went from were I suspect I should have been was about 5 KM.
The Multi Media TB visited but was to big to stay. It is back in the land of the living after it's accedent at "Shelob's Lair".
Thanks Nutcache If you can place that you should be able to find the 13th cache easly.

Found at 9.00pm after about 2 hours of mental and physical gymnastics, just enough light left to fill in the log book. Enjoyed the 'walk'. Thanks Nutcache, No exchange made.
this cahe should have been called the bridges of warburton.you sure put a lot of work in to this one. not quite as physical as the nutcahe's we have come to expect, but sure was mentally challenging. thanks for a great cache in the heart of town. those that thing warburton is a butifull place should live here for 30 years, i would not live anywhere else. swaped a mini phone directory for a fish.
thanks.
thanks.
