Wow!!! What a climb. Decided to come down the other side of the fence to mimimise risk of falling!!!Well worth the views.

16-Jun-24
A caching trip from Canberra, ACT to Cape York, Qld and then around the gulf to East Arnhem Land, NT the over the top of WA.Interesting detours to Thursday Island, Mabuiag Island, Mornington Island, Doomadgee, Hells Gate, Nhulunbuy, Wadeye, Litchfield Nat Park and Wyndham.TFTC.Boy, that hill just keeps going up. Nice to finally make it to the top.

16-Jun-24
I definitely struggled with this hill, more that it was slippery for my wobbly unstable legs not cooperating this morning. An old cache like this is worth the effort to get to.

12-May-24
We approached from the south and there is still a bit of grass around. As we went through the gap we spotted a track up. That looks perfect!A mad scramble up ignoring what was on the fence and we were rewarded with my favourite style of hide.Favourite point awarded We are supporting our mate who is running to Darwin (@curlyrunsnz). He started at Stewart Island in November, just south of the South Island of New Zealand and made to Cape Reinga at the tip of the North Island by New Years Day. He then flew to Tasmania, ran to the ferry terminal in Devonport and sailed to Geelong. Since then it has been a long hard slog across Victoria and into South Australia up the Stuart Highway but he is now close to the finish line in Darwin.terrortorian, I found GREG today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

After a great rambling expedition, it was a joy to stumble upon this panoramic cache tucked away in the Top End. The thrill of discovering treasures from both near and far, some acquired during our interstate journey, added an extra layer of excitement to the find. The cache was in good condition, and the variety of goodies inside was delightful. It was clear that much thought and effort had gone into curating this collection. As we signed the logbook, we couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment, knowing that we were among the first to uncover this hidden gem. Thanks to the cache owner for creating such a memorable experience, and here's to many more adventures in the world of geocaching!Happy caching,

A hot day for a climb. Took time so legs didn't give out

Travelling with richlink on a trip from Perth to Darwin and return through the centre to SA and home again. Today, we are moving from Darwin to Katherine, picking up some caches along our route. Thanks for the cache territorian.

13-Jul-23
Travelling with iluvtrekking and after 12 days caching Darwin we are now headed to Katherine. Got to the parking area at 10 am so the heat of the day had not set in. About 20 minutes return after recording our visit. Glad to find an oldie still in play. Thanks for the hide terrortorian

Cache 9898 on 25 Mar 2023.

Greetings from the ACT! TikvaNZ and I are finally in Darwin after our initial plan to travel to Darwin in August 2020 was thwarted by COVID 19 travel coming to a grinding halt! Just here for the weekend, so focusing on different types, counties and a few different DT combinations!

Today was counties day so we headed way south of Darwin nearly to Katherine. A successful but much longer day than anticipated thanks to the 36 degree heat and a few DNFs along the way. Even though it was getting late, we could not pass up this old cache. With our backs to the setting sun we lurched up the hill, my walk ip not helped by a sore ankle twisted earlier in the day. We started zig zagging around 1/2 way up and with some kind support from TikvaNZ, I made it GZ! What an amazing view from up here! Then a very slow descent, taking around 25 mins to zig zag nearly all the way to the gate, with TikvaNZ again providing excellent support.

Thanks terrortorian for the cache and the fun! I feel quite sweaty but accomplished having made it up and down this hill. Have a fav point!

AngelG27 and I are finally in Darwin from Canberra for the weekend. This trip was originally booked for August 2020, so we are finally using up our travel credits. Today's focus was counties from Darwin to Katherine with some interesting short walks thrown in. Cache easily found, following the steep climb. Nearly tripped over the RIP Greg cross as we began our descent. TFTC.

Found at 11:40:00 AM(t) GAFF1.
Well that looked like a challenge - especially as it hasn't been found in 20 months. Headed off in the high heat and humidity and soon found faint signs of tracks going in a zig zag direction, so I followed them and found that I was on top in no time - if not a bit sweaty and puffed. Found the cache in the first spot that /i looked in due to excellent co-ords. Spent a minute or two taking photos and enjoying the scenery and then down I go. IT was a bit more difficult than going up due to the loose rubble, but in the end it took just 20 minutes all up to do the round trip.
Thanks terrortorian.

TFTC Thanks heaps. Great day out with my GEO buddy Cee Jay Denno. Visited TB.

Nice challenging climb here. Unsure if cache is still allowed due to the fence and sign at the bottom.
Either way, got some exercise getting to it with low1. Cache is in good condition.
Visited 2 TB.

Muggle hubby was again tired driving, lucky this was just down the road. Quickly put my caching trousers, shoes, long sleeve shirt and hat on. He said if I'm not back by tomorrow, he'll call for help!

Took our gallery camera to get shots for our new website (Boomerang Art)

Great view! Took lots of photos. A favourite point from me. Nice to find an unloved cache! Your logbook is still there despite the evidence of a recent fire around the area.

Can I complain that the T rating is lame? I used an equipment going down. Should be T5. I would have rolled down the hill otherwise without the stick.

Muggle hubby was nice to pick me up 160m from the gz (which is quite a distance when the terrain is steep )

TFTC terrortorian. All good with this cache. Thanks for providing the coords for the marker too. I said a little prayer for Greg.

Wow, RIP Greg. The view was amazing just do not do this in thongs it was a mistake. Many ouchies.
Was fairly steep.

We are so thankful for this experience TFTC.

Holy Great Rambling Expedition to find Geocache! that was a hot airless side of the hill today! The view at the top was marvellous, the cache was great but the cool breeze blowing over us was life giving. As so often happens, going back down was quick and didn't seem nearly as hot. TFTC terrortorian.

Now travelling north towards Darwin after the Red Centre Experience. Razz

A decent hike here, 20minutes from car back to the car. Glad to be doing it in the morning before the main heat of the day.

Caching towards Adelaide River for ANZAC day. Of course we stopped for a few caches along the way. The list was soooo long today that we didnt finish and ended up free camping along the way and no pub dinner was had. Surprised

Making our way from Katherine to Adelaide River today, and grabbing some caches along the way to break up the journey. TFTC

30-Jan-16
Team Omam from the Netherlands has only one aunt left. And as she will have her 100th birthday early February, we decided to join the birthday party. But …., she lives in Sydney Australia! An excellent opportunity for us to explore this continent once again and find Geocaches along the way. We will do a 3.5 weeks trip! At places where we will stay for a few days (Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Darwin), we will organize Meet and Greet events. We will try to find mainly caches with high favorite points, caches from 2000 and 2001, earth caches, webcam caches, virtuals and letter box hybrids.

23-Aug-15
Short hike up the hill and a nice find here. Views from the top were truly spectacular. Nice to find a really 'old' cache. Not too many around anymore. TFTC

Today we headed to Adelaide River, picking up a few on the way and this was one of them, easy find. Great views from the top, cache in good condition.

2 week holiday in the nt cross caching trip with geoparents who have come from germany for a visit.

We have been past this one many times and looked up to the top of the hill wondering when we would get it. Today was finally the day. A fantastic view and quick find. TFTC.

We trekked up this hill to grab this one. Very unimposing looking hill but it took us a bit of puffing to get up the top. Searched a bit before we found, geo daughter spotted it. TFTC and the workout!!

24-May-14
Grabbed this one on the way from Darwin to Katherine.

Packed the car just off the highway and started the walk up. Probably best to do this cache earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon.

Knew we'd be in for something special because the views were great about half way up.

Made the find at 1257 and enjoyed some magnificent views before returning to the car.

Continuing our journey towards Darwin, on our 2nd trip around Australia.
Couldn't resist this one, even though the weather was quiet warm.
We zig-zagged our way up the hill, found the cache, and then made our way back, straight down the side of the hill.
T: dice, L: tiny yellow camera
Thanks for the cache, terrortorian.

What an adventure! Decided to tackle this one early morning ... followed the zigzag tracks up, found GREG then the cache a little further. Enjoyed the specky views and headed down - thats when the fun began as one of the Doodle Bugs lost her footing and tumbled down taking the other Doodle Bug with her! Fortunately we came to a halt with only a few minor scratches and possibly a few bruises to show for it! A memorable caching caper and well worth a favourite point. Thanks terrortorian 4 TC Smile

Oh my gosh, what an idea to go for this cache with 38°C on the thermometer. Nearly lost my wife on our honeymoon with this one Wink Great view anyway, worth the walk.

16-Nov-12
Despite it being a slightly cooler day, it was still hard, hot work. A lovely breeze made it a bit more pleasant, though. Best route, I found, was to commence on the south side and follow the goat tracks up and around the front (road side), then up the north goats tracks to the cache.

VERY glad I had a hiking pole!

The 360 view from the top was pretty special, too.

Had to get this one as it shares my husbands name. Not one for a hot day or trekking in thongs but we did both. The junior jedi's weren't too keen to make the trek so we left them halfway up the hill. The climb was definately well worth it as the view was fantastic. Quick easy find once you get to GZ.
TN. left Uboat Geocoin for the next visitor. Hopefully it moves along quickly.

Had a quick stop on my down to Katherine. Well I planned a quick stop but lost my bloody car keys on the hill?! They are still there so let me know if you find them. Spent 2 hours looking before calling the office to bring down the spare keys. Guess who's buying beers next!

Dropped the Police Heroes TB.

Anyone know the story of the cross "RIP Greg" on top the hill?

So apparently you shouldn't do this cache in only thongs! I've only got a few weeks left in the Territory, so I couldn't pass up GREG when we were about to drive past it. I've been putting it off for too long! LOL

If only we'd been prepared with appropriate footwear! HEHE

Nothing like an early morning hill climb to get the heart started Surprised and some stunt slides on the way back down. Great views of surrounds Big Grin and the roadtrains that I had justed passed Sad. Forgot the swaps and wasn't going back to get them. Got some strange looks from passing traffic for the random hill climb Red Face Thanks Territorian - would never had done this with out you Smile.

On our holidays, partly travelling in a Britz campervan through the upper half of the Northern Territory, we tried to log as many of the caches on the way. With the use of a PDA with iGo and the caches loaded as POIs, driving to the cache locations has become quite easy. In total, we visited 61 cache sites and of all these sites, we found 41 caches. Certainly not a perfect score, but we usually enjoyed the location the owner of the cache has chosen. Geocaching brought us to the usual popular tourist locations, but also on some places that we would have otherwise never stopped or driven through.

This log-entry is the thirty-fourth cache on our tour.

We have it well times to try to locate the cache at this time of the day. It’s not so hot yet. There is also a nice little breeze what makes the walk up and down not too hard. The view from the top is quite spectacular. To bad I left the camera in the van.

16-Oct-07
First stop on a daytrip of caching. Wow. I can't believe how unfit I must be. Made it there and back again, signed the log but no swaps this time (was so grateful for the rest I think I forgot to).

16-Oct-07
Looks like a quick easy drive past. But oh no it had to be at the top of a hill. Not only at the top of a hill but at the top of the largest hill. Made the climb and got the cache. Left nothing. Took out the potato chips so animals will leave the cache alone. TFTH

I kept thinking we got it wrong. The climb was steep and the burnt vegetation around was not a pleasant sight. But you are right , once up there its a magical view. Truly this is a game where," you are the search engine."

After spending the morning swinging from a rope swing, splashing into a pool at Douglas Daly, followed by a two hour soak at the Douglas hot springs, we were worn out and soooo relaxed by the time we needed to drive back to Darwin to catch our flight back to Singapore. Too relaxed for a two hour drive so we stopped off by this hill to find one last cache and wake ourselves up. When we pulled up to this hill, we wondered why anyone would bother putting a cache up there. We stopped wondering when we got to the top. What a view. The scale of this landscape really only hits you when you get up above it. Thanks for bringing us up here. We left a $2 coin and decided to try our luck with the lottery ticket. Whoopie! We won $6. Too bad that by the time we got back to Darwin all the shops where we could claim our prize were closed. Oh well, I guess we've got to come back down under some time to get our money.

04-Aug-06
This just happens to be one of those caches that takes your breath away at just the very idea. After driving numerous kliometers from Pine Creek to Darwin, we stopped to seek a "quick and easy" Geocache, but managed to find ourselves, yet again, climbing up mountains to seek ammo cans full of treasure. Took a screwdriver and left chopsticks found two years ago in a Geocache in Seattle, Washington, USA.
