My knee won't allow me to get up there at present! Unless some kind geocacher fixes it up, it may have to be archived!!!!
Things have changed since this was placed and theres a new fence, bushes have grown and no cache to be seen. Co check?
Stunning spot! Monster Ollie (4 y/o) likes the view. Definitely could do with a new container. Found after a minute or two. Great picnic spot. Kobe Kenobi, Clueless Kalia, Monster Ollie
Good to be back caching. I completely missed this after staring at it for a while. ObnoxiousSpaceCat wasn’t missing a beat and quickly found it
Kozjah and I spent about half an hour tracking this one down. After a thorough search of one side of the fence, we went to the other and had it in seconds. It’s cool to see the original container and log. Unfortunately the container is beginning to fall apart due to sun damage. Next cacher would do well to bring along a new one so the original log stays intact. Great to bag this oldie. Onwards up the hill!
What a fantastic diversion on life. Lots of natives on a good track up here. They are taking over the gorse. Very well hidden indeed took 20 min to find. Photo of the gorse being booted out. Well worth the investment of time. A fat old fellah with a dodgy knee can handle it.
Level 2 so a chance to get out caching. After zipping over to find a puzzle cache solved during lockdown by busy paws, me and coconut3 I left them to the north west and headed for the hills with Nosynel. First stop near Duncan Pk was to suss out the multi. It will take a while! But a start was made. Next objective go up the ridge. This was the first trad for the day. Easy find when you are on right side! Tftc. #7121
We looked for that one on our way back from the ridge, little cacher was far ahead, and a bit disappointed he couldn't see it. Both container and logbook were in good condition, quite impressive for a cache this age. We started looking on our way up, but were on the wrong side of the fence, and decided to go down later, it was a good idea, as we found it pretty quickly. Thanks!
Quickly found on a morning's walk up to [Tussock Ridge Epicentre](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC8BHHP_tussock-ridge-epicentre-canterbury). Great to log an old cache. TFTH!
Found on a loop walk on a very warm winter's day - 20 degrees! We stopped and enjoyed the views here before heading down the hill. Tftc, nice to get such an oldie!
#3,262: Gassy Smiley!
I had a two-hour window, with the GeoYounglings off at the local skating rink. So, what to do, but come out for some caches! Quite muddy out on the track, but that meant I had the place to myself. Some horse riders about, but that is all.
The hint made this a lot easier. Nice large container!

Time to grab one of the older caches in Christchurch. Nice views from here and a quick find. Thanks keeping this cache alive.
Nice walk up the hill, with a very pleasant day. Not too hard to find, but made the mistake of not walking out from the cache the same way as I walked. Oh the gorse. Thanks for the hide.
15:07
Found on a dog walk.
The small bush has grown well over these 13 years! But the other parts of the hint were precise so no problems finding this oldie.
This Duncan Park walkway was a bit confusing at parts, being on a horse riding track and then completely going into the horse fields with minimal signage. At the other end I was not even sure if I'm on it when just next to the gate I noticed the sign that showed it is one of the track starting points.
Before the way uphill to the cache, a quite impressive crack in the ground can be seen. I guess that's one of the tears coming from the epicentre of the big Feb 2011 earthquake. 7 years later...

Wet long grass and fresh gorse are not fun, but found the q.cache quickly. This is the oldest cache we have found, as far as we know! It was nice and dry inside. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for so long, and for bringing me to yet another park that I didn't know existed.
I have never visited this reserve before so I thought I would come out this way on this glorious morning. Huffed and puffed my way up the hill. Well worth it for the view (and the cache of course)! TFTC.
Our 60th!!! Yay and what a view!!! Thanks for bringing us here... so peaceful we don't wanna leave... Tftc!!
Officially unfit. Expected a little walk haha should have researched this.. thanks for the amazing view
A nice wee walk up the hill to GZ, and a quick find too. IN log book I said added TB, but when I got back to the car it was still in my pocket, so ignore that!! Cheers.
A quiet weekend at home, and a wee drive to the beach To pick up some smiley's.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

TFTC. This was my first boundary walk of Mary Duncan. Very pleasant indeed.
Thanks for placing the cache that encouraged me up here.
Thanks Sallies for placing the cache.

Got it!! TFTC:-) lovely to get outside in the sun even with that odd fog that is trying to roll over!
We headed out early afternoon for the Heathcote / Ferrymead area to look for some caches - our mission was to turn today into a least a tensy day, and we easily achieved that target.
On our last visit to the park, 7 or 8 years ago, StreetWalker carried on up to this cache while I lazily decided to head back to the car. With another couple of "new" caches in the area, I was keen to also turn this cache into a smile. After the uphill slog, we were worried to see a couple of muggles sitting by the gate close to the cache. Bugger. We turned out backs to them and admired the view. When we turned around again, was pleased to see that they had moved on, so we raced on up to look for the cache. Quick find and good to find such an old cache - thanks Sallies.

Thanks for the cache. I went for the little stroll up the hill to the pylons. GPS was a little here and there, but the precise hint made it an easy find. Cheers.
I forgot to log this one when I logged all the others from my Chch trip. I took a slightly more direct route to this one from my previous find than the track that I later found but there wasn't too much cross country.
After a fairly long day working not too far from here I had time for a bit of a leg stretch before I had to head to the airport and home. A walkabout in this park seemed like the ideal option. A classic cache and an awesome view from GZ. Thanks for keeping this one alive for so long. TFTC, Biggles.
After running fir a ftf and getting it. I had to get this one on the way back to the car. A nice quick find and really big too. Loaded with some swag from St John and ..signed the log. Thanks for bringing me here to this place, TFTC Sallies , from Mr Cuddly Brick 21 April 2016, cache number #1312!
Cache in great condition for one that has been here for so long. Hot walk up here today but worth it. TFTC Sallies
Got rather scratched finding this one but the view from the cache was well worth it. I had just got the cache in my hand when a guy with a horse and a dog crossed the field to where I was sitting. Had to wait a bit while he moved on.I would not have ventured up here without the incentive. Tftc
Managed a few geocaches this afternoon on a brief visit down to Christchurch to visit my elderly parents. A lovely day and a great walk up here, TFTC - scores a favourite from me
A bit of time to kill before the battle of the devices and a couple of dogs that want a walk and a few caches that need collecting in an area I have never been in. Nice views. Cheers for the cache
I had a caching day with Busy Paws today! This was a great challenge for me as I ran up the hill to the cache and I ran down the hill back to the car! Amazing view from the top! Nice and easy find.

Haven't been caching in a while, was nice to get out. Did the loop of 3 with geobf, TFTC
The track started out nice and easy but then became suddenly steep. We pushed ourselves with the promise of a couple of caches and we succeeded.
This was the second of 3 caches bugzptr and I found on the walkway after attending the CITO event, was a great day for a walk
Found this cache after a CITO thought i might as well being so close even with the climb Thanks for the cache
Found after a nearby CITO event. What a steep hill (and here I was thinking it would be easier than Quail Island - nope)! Glad I had plenty of supportive crew around me. Lovely view once I regained by breath. Thanks for the cache.
Decided to take advantage of the early autumn late afternoon sun and go for a wander to this cache, which filled in a "month placed" grid for me. Grabbed a couple of other caches in the area as well. Didn't take too long to find this cache, there was a bit of a geo-trail indicating where I should search. Thanks for the cache.
Hey it's Monday, and you know what time that is? Mad mission Monday! TG and I headed out on this cold rainy evening. You know what they say "No such thing as bad weather, just poor clothing choices". Well, I had my beanie, gummies, gortex jacket, head lamp and spare batteries... sorted. Our plan was to head North and clear a few towns/villages/river beds. We ended up having relatively good weather and travelled about 250km tonight. We took Mrs TG's wagon a wee bit 4wding and scored a couple of FTF on our adventures. We were heading up the hill to have a crack at a new cache up the hill. No one parked at the gates... good. No lights in the distance... good. We headed up the track and by this time the rain had stopped. It was hard work in the gummies going up the hill. I have been meaning to get this one for ages as it was the closest trad to home. I took a few night scape photos and then we made a quick find. Now off to the prize. Back onto the track.
Thanks for the cache.

Most people that know me would say that I have Geocaching Addiction Syndrome. At the moment the addiction is so strong that I am doing a geocaching streak. It's just been 77 days in a row.
Last year I went to a Geocaching Anomimous event. Unfortunately since then the addiction got worse.
My husband JDScout gets dragged along occasionally to my finds. Especially if it involves walking. So he came all to this one. We both have never been to Duncan Park for a walk and both enjoyed it.
Thanks for bringing us to this area for a Sunday cache and walk.

Half a metre, half a metre and half a metre more, the cacher and his dog strode up the hill of death,
What am I doing here, what is it all about - why am I out of breath?
The clue is in GAS and the Sallies like to inflict pain
But if I need another number, this I have to gain
The weather was hot and the dog was panting and puffed
the owner the same - except totally stuffed.
Approaching GZ, I glanced at the clue, you know - it's what you do
But it helps if you read properly and find the right two!
Oh joy is me as I pulled out the booty, signed the log and observed the La Vista (no, they weren't here but poetic licence)
Then I read previous logs and read that the owner had struggled up the hill
And like me and the dog, bloody arthritis was going to need another pill
So thank you Sallies for a great ramble but can any subsequent caches be just an amble?
(Forgot to drop in TB - but I ain't going back in a hurry)

Found it after I took a wrong turn off the track and scrambled up through the pine plantation. Hot dry and dusty!
I work directly down the hill from here and can get to GZ and back to base in exactly the half hour I get for lunch. It's good exercise so I do it a lot. Only just occurred to me the other day that there might be a cache to look for however. Had a look on the map, and yes there was a cache. Bagged it today.
I note too that there was rubbish, mainly torn up paper tucked in beside the cache. Bad form - students from St Bedes - your "how to geocache" sheets hadn't decayed at all. I brought them down to the bin. You were here on the 27th Nov and your teacher's phone number was on the sheet. I won't ring him but please learn about the idea of CITO as part of the geocaching experience.

Nice short hike, just what i wanted today. Cache in good order. Very windy day tho
I've seen some dodgy characters in that car park, but not today. 40min round trip - not necessarily quicker on the way down depending on how slippy you find it. tftc (and for getting my heart rate up!)

Out doing more owner maintenance today. Though about giving this one a miss since my arthritic knee was really playing up and I was using a stick - but stubborn as I am I refused to give up and made the ascent. Actually the descent was much more painful. The track was wet and slippery but no mishaps. The cache itself was in good condition, unlike the owner! Rodney
First find of a busy day of caching. Arrived to find the parking lot below empty, but soon I was joined by a car of two women who seemed to want to sit in a car park smoking. Fun. But a cache! Wandered along the trail and came to the bit where you can either go up the switchbacks or plunge into the crevices in the earth. Wow, those are some big holes. So the switchbacks. Fortunately, the markers for the prize were obvious and seen from a great distance and so I knew the walk would not be long. However, I was unsure at the end and made a guess and was rewarded with the cache and great views. I had no idea the container park was so huge. I had only seen it from ground level.
Cheers Sallies for the cache!

A beautiful evening introducing my Ranger group to the excitment of geocaching so a letterboxing and geocaching walk to this walkway. I've often wondered where it went and now I know. It took a bit of hunting but there it was - the biggest one I have found on my journeys so far! All in tact. TFTC and the walk!
Enjoyed the climb, great view and loved the native 're- vegetation. Picked up travel bug and taking it south.
Out and about doing odd jobs this morning and was in the area (sort of) so decided to check out this one, since nobody had been here for a long time. It was overcast and not too warm when I started out but the clouds disappeared and the temperature rose rapidly while I was ascending. It was very hot up the hill and it took me a while to find my own cache in the undergrowth - certainly a lot of growth since I was up there last!!! Found it in the right place using the stick prodding method. Everything in order. Added a travel ingot as an encouragement to fellow cachers to put in the effort. Rodney.
A bit of a long walk uphill and we had to wait a while for the muggles to go away. Really nice walk back downhill to make a round trip of it past the horses. TFTC

I've been putting this one off for a while. Today turned out to be a beautiful day and it was nice to hike the hills. Quick find.
Out for a family afternoons adventure. Wee wee dude in the backpack & gave wee dude (4) the 'Treasure Phone' (aka GPS) to point us the way....with 'phone' in hand he was happy to clamber up the hill. Most fun. Thanks for the wander.
Me and Meeshell made overly hard work of this, not to say that it wouldn't be hard work whatever way we did it. I scoped out the area on google maps before coming out and planned to pick up WP1 for "It's Bark Is Worse Than It's Bite" on the way "down" to this. For some reason I had gotten into my head that the terrain was backwards to what it is, ie. I thought the straight track direct to this cache was in a gully, any the track direct to WP1 of the multi was a steady uphill then steps down to this cache. But instead it was the other way around, which caused a bit of confusion over which way to go from the carpark, ended up going the way I had planned, which resulted in a very very steep ascent to this cache, somewhat unnecessary, no matter we've done it now. Then when we got to GZ we were so exhausted it took us far too long to actually find the cache, must have overlooked it several times. A good wee adventure, glad I don't need to come back in a hurry though TFTC (491)
Easily found after a hot walk up the hill. Yet another park/walk I didn't know existed until today. TFTC and the view.
Last of our climbs for the day. We were worn out but happy to have got 3 out of 3 on a hot sunny day. TFTC
Nice area to walk. I continued around the walkway after locating the cache. TNLN. TFTC.
A different view from up here. Cache had some water in it but not much. Log is dry. The run, even though short, was tough. Tftc
Bit of a hike up there - but a nice view as the sun faded....
TNLN..... Cheers.
TNLN..... Cheers.
Mr Womble T can get the credit for finding this one.It was so hot and Mrs Womble B plus Geodoggie Bonnie, were both worn out after trapsing around all day Caching. So they sat in the shade in the forest a little way up the hill. But she felt quite silly, when a young muggle mum walked passed with a baby in a backpac and another toddler in tow. They met WT as he was coming back down and she told him that they were going away up to the top just for a walk!!!!TFTC
Nice day for a walk today. Not too hot or too cold. A few healthy muggles up the hill while we were updating the log. Go Team CGI.

Tramped up here in the blowing hot wind, without clue and when I get to the top, a phone call requiring my presence back home. Bugger! I'll be back!
