Thanks. Just passing through and thought I would go for a wonder. There was water inside and log slightly wet . Dried is out as best I could.

Thought i'd take the kids for a little bush walk this morning to find this one
Track is very overgrown since the last time I traversed this path (about 20yrs ago!)
Nice quick and easy find for the little ones.

Now that the Mega is out of the way, I'm working on getting out there very soon.
This cache is now on our Maintenance list. Thanks to GMJMelb for an accurate description of the problem. This really helps. (MD)
We came up to Healesville to do maintenance on our cache there and decided to drive back to Melbourne via Woori Yallock for a change. We tested the temperature and were happy in the shade so off we set along the mostly shady track.….. the track on this side of the road is much less defined but still walkable. We arrived at GZ and looked around a bit, then read the previous log which indicated the cache had moved. We found it where that log indicated. Contents were unfortunately completely saturated and slimy and unsignable so will send a photo to the CO to show the find. GMelb emptied out the water, but everything needs replacing.
TFTC Nutcache, amazing a cache has lasted this long albeit, it definitely needs maintenance

Found this geocache under a cool old dead tree, unfortunately the container is broken so everything inside was wet including the log book but a cool find for how long it has been there
Alas, with the recent rains our path was blocked..water, water everywhere! Will come back later in the season once all the water has gone.
Well that was a decent walk in with the Geokids. Had a bit of a search around then Geowife had the cache in hand. Quite damp & mouldy.. Signed & replaced as found.

In Ages past this once serene land by the banks of the River Anduin bore witness to certain events which shaped the course of all Middle Earth. From the fall of Isildur to the rise of Gollum, the One Ring will surely have its way...
But the legacy of the evil orchestrated by the Ring all those years ago, had left a sinister shroud upon these once benign meadows and left the Gladden Fields a forsaken land.
Legend has it that the ancient wizard Nutcache tried to expel the curse from these lands by placing a sacred artifact upon the Gladden Fields and sealing it with a magical glyph of tremendous power. Despite its power, it wasn't able to dispel the darkness completely, however it was able to hold it back enough that Light returned to the vale.
But that was long ago...
And despite the regular pilgrimages by the Guild of Cache Guardians, the power of the artifact is waning. Shadows have once more returned to the Gladden Fields.
Naturally, this unmistakable rise of darkness caught the attention of the White Council. There, it was decided that they needed a team to execute a stealthy reconnaissance mission so they might take appropriate long-term action.
This is where Heymissjo and I come into the story. We were compelled by the White Council to find the relic and assess the current state of these stricken meadows with our own eyes and report back to the Council with haste.
So after a long journey from the north with our Geo-Wolf, we finally left the trade road where it meets the River Anduin and headed west in the direction of the Gladden Fields. We immediately encountered a solitary ent towering by the merchant bridge in a silent vigil, seemingly unmoved for millennia. And he was not stirred by our passing. He was a legacy from long ago - from the time of Isildur - an indefatigable bastion extant against a primordial darkness. Perhaps this was a good omen...
The track quickly disappeared into the undergrowth and the vegetation turned wild. Our Geo-Wolf caught the scent of something and pulled us deeper into forest with a relentless hunger.
Unexpectedly, wargs from an orc raiding party could be heard howling nearby, beyond the trees to the north, and the unmistakeable explosions from a wizard's thunder-stick rang out across the land. A battle was taking place, and it was too close for comfort.
Our Geo-Wolf suddenly banked to the left and stopped in front of a colossal fallen warrior. An ent of old had been slain by the river and it's massive wooden corpse lay heavily across the glade.
This was the place of legend we sought.
In his wisdom, Nutcache had employed protective illusions around his device to keep it safe from prying eyes. They caused Heymissjo and I to continually wander away from our target. But even these protective spells had not escaped the ravages of time and a momentary glitch in the illusion revealed the prize.
It seems that not only had disciples of the Guild been making pilgrimages here, but also fisherman from the nearby village of Woori Yallock! Perhaps there is an unknown power rising in their midst - this will warrant further investigation from the White Council.
Unless the orcs had found them first...
For now, Heymissjo and I re-energised the magic of Nutcache's ancient device by inscribing our holy runes upon the scroll within. Hopefully it will be enough to keep the Darkness at bay while we report back to the White Council.
Thanks to the Wizard Nutcache and the Guild of Cache Guardians for placing and maintaining this powerful relic of Light.

Was out this afternoon doing a maintenance run on one of my caches and afterwards The Welder and I decided to try a different route home. Noticing an unfound nut cache we decided to stop and collect it. The grass is really long, but at least the peak of the wriggly season has passed. Geo-pup thought it was a real adventure… a jungle adventure… evening jumping and frolicking to gz, she still couldn’t see over the grass.
Once at gz, pup continued to be a distraction pulling in all directions. But after w few minutes searching and confirming we were looking at the right tree, The Welder spotted the prize. Thanks for the cache.

A big trek through nature, but the kids were so excited to get to the treasure at the end!
TFTC Nutcache,
Been here 4 times with no success, thought I'd give it another crack. Once I realized that The white tree wasn't as vertical as I expected, I was able to find the Treasure.
Regards from Victourer

Had the kids in tow and the track got a bit challenging (non existent) 150m or so away from the cache. Kids decided to pull the pin.
I live just up the road and have walked this track many times with out realising this cache was here! Glad there is one recommend everyone to take this stall along the river I will also drop my second TB here, TFTC!
Lots of mosquitos tried to deter me, but found after withstanding their poor hospitality skills

After attending the last of the Yarra expedition event with Biggles1024 and SteMicMitSar we stopped here on our way home. Another Lord of the Rings crossed off. The rest will have to wait for another trip.

**Traditional Cache Find #2369**
I headed up to Warburton with SteMicMitSar and Jascat to attend an event as well as find a few local caches. Our last stop on our way home and another member of the LotR series. A short walk down a flat but wet track saw us arrive at GZ where a quick find was made.

I couldn’t find it. We got to the location and even used the hint and looked at others photos but it seems as though it’s not there anymore. Hopefully it is and we are just crap lookers
Out caching with BonnyBlack . After finding some of his caches in the area , we took a slight detour to find this one . Thanks
Out doing a bit of fly fishing on the Yarra and thought we would grab a cache our two, nice hide and great spot.
Lovely stroll along this track until we reached GZ. We were suddenly attacked by millions of mozzies (I maybe exaggerating) but they were angry. This is the fastest log book we have ever signed, then we got the hell out of there quickly. Thank you Nutcache and Cache Guardians. It was still a lovely walk.

With the Yarra Expedition part 10 now finished, everyone had gone there separate ways but I hung around a bit longer and went to find a few more solo.
After completing the nearby YB series, I then made my way under the bridge and followed the trail out to this cache, once at GZ I was able to make a quick find and the log was signed.

Very muddy track today but good find. Beautiful spot. Took sister and family for their 1st cache!
Today a big convoy took part in the Yarra Expedition #9, heading out to explore the upper reaches of the Yarra River. Starting with an event at the chocolate shop we made our way east from Yarra Glen generally following the course of the river.
I know nothing about LotR but I enjoyed the muddy walk in the area. Didn't find any ring at GZ but finding the cache *gladdened* me anyhow.
Always great to pick up an older GC6 cache.
Thanks Nutcache and the Cache Guardians.

Found it! Whilst the majority of the Yarra Ex9 crew were upstream grabbing a few BB caches that we had found previously, we wandered downstream to pick up yet another LR cache that although very close to home had fallen off our to get radar. Turned out to be a lot easier than we expected and one of the geokids (we have 4 so keeping track is a problem sometimes) had it in hand before we oldies got there...TFTC...

After a great Yarra Expedition event and large convoy of cars headed off on the way to a late lunch in Yarra Junction we had a plan of attack so some of these were signed as Team Hinky so the log books didn't fill up.
After doing the nearby loop we also headed down this way since it looked like the only way in. Should have driven in after walking down the track to the cache.
Thanks Nutcache for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

In a large group of fellow cachers on the 9th Yarra Expedition, we followed the river around by car grabbing the closest trads along the way and signing under the group name of TeamHinky. With the weather forecast to be the coldest/wettest weekend in 2 years we were very lucky to have sunshine follow us without any sign of rain.
Finally we were in reach of the river on our tour around Yarra Ranges area. This old cache was a definite on our list today so after completing the 3 "Yarra Bridge" caches on the other side of the bridge we made our way down to Gladden Fields. Due to all the rain overnight it was very slushy underfoot but we all made it safely without any sign of the mountain Orcs to add our names to the logbook.
Thanks Cache Guardians for keeping another oldie alive.

Really enjoyed the walk along to this spot today while completing Yarra Expedition 9. The river was full and flowing.
Out today on the Yarra Expedition 9 team today. Have wanted to do this series for some time. Nice little walk here! Cheers

Is this cache still accessible? Much to our surprise there is a house there now, always thought it was public land!?
Gladden Fields (LR18) was transferred from day1976 to user Cache Guardians
Having dropped the geokids off to go horse-riding and with an hour and a bit to myself (a rare thing at the moment, with partner overseas), I didn't need to do much self-convincing to go and see if I could find a few caches in the area.
This was the final of five finds for the afternoon. As a fan of the books, and later of the films, I've always wanted to check out these LotR caches, but to my embarrassment this is my first, after almost four years' caching.
Having left the car up at the road, I wandered down to the riverside track, and I have to say that the main thought going through my mind as I slipped and slid along it was "Sodden Fields, more like it...", as parts of the trail were more akin to traversing the Dead Marshes!
But as an intrepid adventurer I forged onward, and thus it was that I found myself at GZ beside the waters, and quickly located the very decent-sized container. Signed the log, visited two trackables, left a little plastic figure and took nothing.
Thanks for the cache, Nutcache - will have to now seek more of these LotR-related locations.

Walked on the log over the river and watched it roll by after work. A fish was active we left each other alone. Thanks bringing me along this track to this spot. For a few minutes I am content. Cache perfect. Signed log.

After the YB series I walked under the bridge and along the rather moist (but not overly slippery) vehicle track. The cache was found in this pretty area. Definitely no swimming on this 12 degree day! Thanks Nutcache for placing a cache out here.
Fav from me finding such a mature long lasting hide and great location.. Get tired of mint tins stuck on buildings etc around the city and playground hides !!!! Next week back to Africa for some work and cacheing but need to take care in the bush settings there compared to here!!!!tftc
Found it by my old childhood swim spot. Was nice to venture back down the yarra
Child free and caching with my hubby. Just completed the YB series across the road and quickly headed to this one. Walked one way in and an easier way out - mostly due to the high winds pushing through the gums. Nice bit of exercise too. TFTC.
Last weekend in Melbourne before I head back to QLD for Christmas, thought I may as well grab a few caches instead of wasting the entire day in bed!!
A quick jog down the beaten track as the little car wouldn't of stood a chance getting in there. Located quickly and all in good condition.
TFTC!!

We were going to drive up to this one as others have done before, but there is now a fence across the access track so we had to go for a stroll instead. There were a few muggle fishermen to be seen but they were all headed back to the carpark, so we had gz all to ourselves. The cache was a quick easy find, and we were soon on our way again, back to the geotruck and onto the next search. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Still raining, muddy looking track, only in an all wheel drive, hmmm - to walk or risk the mud, ah what the hell!! Geomutt was a bit sick of getting wet, so off we went, whew no probs and what a great spot tho it does look like there is a lot of restoration work going on! Thamks for bringing us to this one
Nice spot along the river pity people like to trash the place with their dumped rubbish.tftc.
If you don't drive a 4wd, you can park your car in the car park and have a walk - not at all strenuous but path is well used by 4wd

Found on 13 Jan on an evening bike ride with Gunks along the warby trail. Slight detour to this one and after a short search found it. Tftc
Took a gamble with the weather tonight and went out on the bikes with TigerAd. First time he's been out on a bike in nearly 400 years. Hopefully he can walk again by March! Tftc
