Sad this one has gone... it was a most brilliant container como thankyou for the challenge while it existed. The hill is the local meeting spot for snogging and sly grogging teens .... the hill is as busy as Wellington station during rush hour, on all but the coldest wettest evenings.
found the remains of the cache along way down (looked like it had been thrown from original co ords) the only thing in it was a tea bag,a tampon and half a pack of pk gum nothing else
Looks like people can't keep their hands off my caches up here, might have to flag it if I can't find a better spot.
I found it surprising that a micro would be here.
I also found it surprising given Dak's log that a cache check hasn't been done. I always find it a bit disheartening hunting for a cache that's had a couple of DNF's - and even more so after a bit more effort to get there. This was nice and close to the nearby school where the rest of the KL team were involved in more esoteric endeavours.

BTW Dak - if you are watching - puke is maori for hill. And it's pronounced something like pookay. Nothing like what you were thinking about!
We attempt another Zork special, but must confess we were outwitted. Our target area seemed promising, however a systematic search of the derelict palisade revealed not a thing. Surrounding the area we could not fail to notice evidence of bovine excretory activity. We were aware that Mr Zork had special skills of a pharmaceutical and chemical nature and being an innovative gentleman wondered whether he had contrived to manufacture a synthetic ‘cow-pat’ as a means of hiding his mini-cache, but we were not prepared to test this theory. Maybe another day.
I wondered whether to do just one more cache, or go home. Silly question! After initially not reading the parking coordinates in the cache description, I drove around trying to find the way in. I actually saw the entrance, but in the dark it looked like someone's driveway. Then I noticed the parking coordinates in the cache description.
Anyhow, I climbed the hill and arrived at GZ huffing and puffing. [xx(] I thought I knew how it would be hidden, but after 20 minutes of fruitless searching I cracked the hint. It seemed to confirm my suspicions, so I spent another ten minutes pulling, poking, and prodding everything likely and unlikely. No cigar! I rang Navigull, who couldn't remember the cache, but rang Zork V on my behalf. Even with precise instructions about what the cache looked like, I couldn't find it. (In fact, I knew I wouldn't find it when I received the instructions. I had been all over the ground at GZ, and there was nothing fitting the description there.) I spent another five minutes or so looking, but my heart wasn't in it, and I gave it away at around 2150. If the cache is there, it's too well hidden for my meagre talents. I can't imagine it being muggled there though! I'll put a watch on the cache to see if someone else has any luck. Perhaps it was eaten my a bovine muggle.
So, after all that, it was my first DNF in New Zealand. I wished I'd gone home after the last cache. [B)] P.S. Strange name for the cache, if 'puke' means what I think it means.

Have been here orienteering a few years back. My direct approach had Tufty puffing – as his personal trainer I was ensuring that he didn’t take the easy road. We had to fight some of the local 4-legged muggles, particularly #’s 107, 127, 101 and the 3 others who declined to be identified, for access to the cache. TNLN. Thanx for the cache. Cheers.
They say that another name for orienteering is Crazy Running and as BaldEd is an ex-orienteer he's certainly that by deciding to take the most vertical route despite the hint to keep to the main track. They say you can't pick your relations.
Once at the top a few muggles (of the bovine variety) were watching what we were up to but didn't seem too bothered. Must be a common activity up here.
TNLNSL.
Cheers for the cache.

I had all but given up on this sneakily concealed micro, but I persevered and came up triumphant. I had looked all around and I have no idea why I thought to look where I did, as it didn’t seem possible – but there it was. Very well done.
Good little cache here
Easy find and I had more trouble with the container in the end.

Found this last year, but we thought that it would be worth second visit. It certainly was when we saw the effort Zork had gone to for muggle protection. Well done!

Yes found it, but did not realise it at first. What a clever hide. The walk up was not as tough as it 1st appeared, but unfortunately the sign at the entrance has gone, so the parking waypoint was a little confusing. Nil in or out. Darn - missed the geocoin, or has it been logged into the wrong cache? No sign of it when I called. T4TC

Im afraid this cache has indeed gone.
I found evidence of a broken container with camo paint on.
How long has the fence been down like it is??

found the remains aluded to in the clue - no muggles and a good long search with Mrs Tee - but no luck
Being such an obedient geocacher, I drove right to the carparking suggested, and was at the cache site in about five minutes. Very easy find - too easy in fact, as the cache was rather too visible with winter grass growth. I tried to cover it a bit more. Wonderful view from there - wouldn't that crater make a great music amphitheatre. I had no swaps with me, as I'm just in Auckland for a few days - back home to Christchurch tomorrow. So I couldn't leave anything, but felt it was OK to take the TB, so I can place it in a South Island cache and maximise its journeys. Cheers from Grandalf.
Nice spot close to my home. I've walked past this cache countless times. It was nice to find the cache here today.

Excellant spot and wonderful view and very friendly cattle. Dropped of Ernie on his travels.
Found it about a metre away from where the GPS said it should be, but I think the metal fence in that area might have been interferring with the signal.
I originally thought that said fence may have been destroyed after the cache was hidden (and maybe the cache with it), but that's not the case at all.
A nice pond at the bottom of the crater too.

Very pleasant walk, in an area with an interesting history. The cattle there at the moment are in great condition, it's a pleasure to see animals in such a state, and very friendly. Not too difficult to find cache once we scared away the teen-muggles.

What a nice place. Driven past here so many times as we lived very close for years. Never stopped before. Only 4 legged mooing muggles around today.
Out - TB tip me up and pour me out
In - a gekko keyring and TB Dora the Explorer who has been busting her little boiler to get exploring. We took her to Hobsons Choice but she objected to staying at that cache. anyone who has found it will know why . I forgot to take her number so I couldn't even register her visit.

Found it this time, no problems. How we missed it before I don't know. Perhaps it wanders about a bit from time to time?

Replaced mortor tube with small camo screwtop container, due to pirates taking it as a prize.
Well Im afraid to say all I found was an indentation in the grass about the size and shape of an 81mm mortar tube.
Think this one has gone.

I'd driven past this cache a few weeks ago, but wasn't able to hunt it at that point. I was able to have a go on the way out to the airport this evening. Got to the top to find a father and son flying kites, so a pleasant surprise and beheld some lovely views from this glorious evening. Had to be slightly sneaky to remove the cache, and then I had to wait a few minutes for them to get one of the kites flight-worthy again and look away from GZ before replacing the cache. No exchange made. Cheers Gav [455]

Enjoyed the cache very much. Thank you. We found a TB in the cache not recorded as in. Took its photo and will move it on its way certainly in the direction that the owner wants though they will be surprised at where it ends up!
Nice walk up (to stretch off the trip up) and good views.

Easy find on my own as LRPnz's knees were a bit too sore for the climb. TNLN, thanks.
PS - the camo paint is flaking off. A couple of big patchs stuck to my hands as I was opening and closing the container.
