Day thirty four of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris.Traveling between Wellington and Napier, a few AdLab stages and a few caches when we arrived, but mostly driving.Walked up the stairs from the bottom, seemed strange to be climbing stairs and not counting them!A good sized cache at this location. Thanks, Robmc.
Day 34 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc and today travelled from wellington to Napier and after settling in we went for a look about.A nice sized cache - nice to see (and to find)Thanks for contributing to an amazing holiday
#4232 Today is day 38 of my geocaching vacation in New Zealand. Today, I spent some time in Napier before heading to Taupo.Found it! Hard to park, easy to find.Rugby_HB, thank you for the cache! Picked up[TB8D4Q4 Just Hatched - Eat Sleep Cache](https://coord.info/TB8D4Q4)-crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan on November 7, 2024 @ 15:41:03[GCMBMT] Aquavista (Hawkes Bay) was a D1.5/T2.0 Regular Traditional Cache at the time of finding.
Travelling back from a teaching deployment in Gizzy, breaking my travel up with a night in Napier. Was trying to look nonchalant with some muggle house owners just up the road who were shovelling gravel in their garden. Initially I was in the wrong place but found a cool horseshoe set into the concrete on the steps down. When I realised where the right hiding spot actually was, the cache was an obvious find. Great to find an oldie cache! Either the CO or another local might like to take some wet ones up and give the contents a bit of a wipe down (sorry I wasnt prepared here) - someone has put a lolly in it and its a bit sticky (theres a reason you dont put food into caches) Aside from that, Im giving it a fave point for the old cache and the size of it. And Ive also left a travel bug in there to continue its adventures! (TB left in the plastic bag so not going to get sticky) Mihi ki a koe mo te keteroki
Thanks, Geocaching CO, who keeps this available for us to find. Placed in 2004, they are becoming a rare breed. There is a challenge GC9N364. That was the year 2004, and I only have two more to locate before I qualified.
On our only full day in Napier, we found the kiwi had moved out of the aquarium three days ago & the Faraday Museum doesn't open on Thursdays! So we visited McLean Park for BlLbo's cricket ground pilgrimage before a lovely wander around the city centre in the sunshine. This afternoon I nipped out for some caches with BlLbo.This was our next stop as this old cache helps towards a challenge that I am working on. I managed to park up on Seapoint Road before we made the steep climb up the steps. The description was all that was needed for BlLbo to spot this one & it didn't take long for me to complete the administration. Unsurprisingly, there was no sign of the listed trackable & it should sadly be marked as *Missing*.Found at 16:53Cache #10439TFTC Rugby_HB
Just a few minutes late for the best photo of the sunset. Thank you so much for this cache! I have left a small brain teaser, signed the log but took nothing. What a gem of a spot!
Not sure where to look! Asked some of the neighbours but they were unaware of any geocache.
We couldnt find the correct pant hedge and then a lady nearby pulling up her car asked us if we were looking for a pot. She directed us further in between the parked cars near a lavender hedge and low and behold there was the correct hedge. ATM made a QEF then but we did feel very awkward going to the front of the cars. We took a travel bug for onward travels. TFTC and greetings from the UK
Thanks for the cache a nice easy find once we got past the point of be worried about getting spung by muggles.
Nice cache, saw some suspicious objects so went in for a close look and found quickly. One of the TBs will come to Germany with me next week. Cheers

I spent a single night in Napier, blowing through by bus on my way to the big smoke.
Through geocaching I toured the town, and when i saw this cache was from 2004, it immediately took precedence and so guided my way over and upwards.
I wonder if this is the oldest active geocache in town... so cool
Thanks so much for offering a clear -it's alright- description, making my approach and find, less uh... obtrusive?
Nevertheless, a quick find, then I walked back to town. Good view!
This is also just the second time I've ever found a cache for the month of December 2004.

Parked at the bottom of the steps and walked up. Hint makes it an easy find. Thanks for placing the cache
This was the highlight of caching during my short stay in Napier.
Quite a quick find of this nice cache with a great view, which would have been even better if the weather hadn't been so cloudy!
After walking to the lookout then to here it was great to have a nice spot to sit and relax for a few minutes while logging the cache. I would have loved to meet the owners but nobody seemed to be home.
Swapped TBs.
A well deserved favorite point awarded.

This is my fourth geocaching excursion to **beautiful New Zealand**!
Due to Covid [xx(] I had to wait for 3 long years to again return to my beloved [:X] Middle-Earth.
This time its a road trip enduring for 26 days, covering both North- and South-Island.
Today was dedicated to collect some smileys in order to complete two challenges :
1. **'NZ 400 minutes longitude challenge'** (https://coord.info/GC7YQZ8)
2. **'"Don't Leave Home" NZ Counties Challenge'** (https://coord.info/GC9C4M0)
This geo-treasure contributed to the mission and to the finds of today. Cool! [^]
A great box - easy to find [^].
A big thanks to the owner Rugby_HB [:X] for hiding and maintaining this cache [^] - and best regards from Germany !

Nice hide out here on the bluff hill. I really like this part of Napier. Thanks for the cache and the clear hint on how to find it!
A nice quick find. There was plenty of parking up the road and a short work to GZ and quick find. Thanks for placing and maintaining your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. Today we cruised around the Napier Hastings area. Predicted showers did not eventuate today, just a nice warm day in the Bay.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .
