Thanks to all who completed this one. As the whole cache has had to be changed due to road works, I am relisting it as a new cache.

18-Jun-07
It appears that in the spirit of progress, Vicroads may have chipped our tree and the cache with it. I will work out what to do with this one shortly.

11-Jun-07
As per the previous log, we found a patch of dirt and evidence of recent works. Certainly nothing here that fits the clue.... or maybe we just got the answers to the clues wrong....?

05-May-07
Either we screwed up our calculations or GZ is now a patch of dirt next to a new footpath!! Hmmm, will try and get back and recalculate just in case!!

05-Mar-07
Found by Winchy at 7pm. Very busy spot. Might want to keep an eye on this as they are doing works very close by....TNLN and TFTC

24-Jan-07
Gathered the clues and calculated waypoint. Had a bit off a look around first and then went looking for the cache but something didn't seem right. Went back to check clues. Got the windows wrong. Off again to have the cache quickly in hand. Signed log. Thanks

Pretty easy multi, found the cache easily. Thanks!

4:45pm - sigh... this was the last of my Melbourne cache attempts for this Christmas trip. We found what we needed and went off in search of this elusive micro. Made the mistake of reading the clue and found it really quickly. Still, we enjoyed the hunt. Cheers FTC.

Haven’t been to this area for years. The remaining building looks like a pervading monolith lording it over the smaller houses. Gathered the clues and proceeded to GZ. Logged our find at 0900 hrs.

Things have certainly changed around here! If only they'd built that railway line? Who knows! Got the clues ok and then parked rather cheekily (but quite safely) to access the cache, still safe and sound. Thanks Rabbitto.

01-Jul-06
This should never have been built in the rain belt! The weather out here in winter was awful, and transport to the ground was not much better. That being said, it is a waste to dismember it, but I believe that some warriers still train here (but there weren't here today).
Nice little cache, didn't have any muggle problems in the offices on a Sunday.
Thanks, Robmc.

01-Jul-06
Found at 1:25pm Accompanied by Robmc as the driver and Chewinprickles as navigator.

Second find for Robmc and I on what turned out to be a marathon trip. Crawled into bed at 1.30 the next morning. Still at this point it was early afternoon. TNLN obviously cos it's little, but thanks.

I've only been meaning to do this one for the past year and a bit! Finally got around to going into the old footy ground. Nice easy find. Thanks Rabbito.

Got to designated area ,got windows clue wrong and doubled back for re-check.With correct info moved to new gz spot ,and a busy location it is .Dodged a few prying eyes in the nearby windows and traffic to log the cache at 4.30pm .Never went to the large complex in its heyday as moved from Wagga Wagga to Berwick just after the final game.TNLN and the updated complex now has a foodland at the left end. Thanks to Rabbitto for the Avenue tour and cache.

11-Mar-06
Found at 5:15pm today. Cache is in fine form though not many visitors lately.

I've never been a football fan so I never went to this venue in its heyday.. but it's a mystery why it ended like this. Now there's a mini-mart inside it.

TNLN. TFTC - I love drive-by caching Wink

Found at 17:35. Our last of the A, B & T series for now.

We have fond memories of trying to get out of the carpark here after the last of the home and away games played here before the AFL sold out.

We also remember coming here for a U2 concert last time they played Melbourne. We sat in the sun and got very burnt but enjoyed the music anyway.

After finishing Anenues, Boulevards & Thoroughfares #2 & #3 I just hadn't seemed to get around to doing the one that started it all of. So today I put an end to it. Nice quick find though I think at time I should get my eyes tested when I need to check things at a distance. Signen the log and of course TNLN in this size cache. Thanks for the trip.

Remember this place in it former glory, I remember the day I almost got crushed by a police horse, the day I, and about only 4 other people say North take on Brissy, and of course the North and Hawthorn draw - somehow I think I liked it more then, it all seems a little souless now.

Found by Roma and Max.
The carpark will never look the same again!
Thanks Rabitto for this walk down memory lane,
from Romax.

Found at 2140. Went through the clues some days ago, went for the cache tonight after a game of squash over the road. In hand quickly.

great cache. such a sad sight.

Found by Bob at 14:55

I haven't been here since the 2nd last game they played here (Hawthorn v Geelong if I remember correctly) when my son Daniel was playing in the Auskick competition and I was umpiring Smile - the remaining edifice is a sad reminder of former glories Sad.

The cache was a nice easy find,

Thanks Rabbitto

It has been a long time since I have visited this area. Used to work at the Safeway warehouse, when I was in security. Not much left of the stadium now. Used the Safeway car park and soon had cache in hand.
Thanks.

20-Mar-05
Found this one today, gee hasn't this place changed. Don't think I would like to live here all the houses are so close together. Yuk. Nice easy find first up for the day.

Thanks Rabbitto.

Mr.Coffee and family found this cache this afternoon, Thank you Rabbitto for a glimpse at what could have been one of the best sporting grounds in Melbourne (if only the trains wen't out this far).
It will be interesting to see if this area becomes what the planners had hoped or will it become a white elephant of yesterday?, time will tell.
TNLN again thanks
Mr.Coffee and the Clan.

We’re now up to date with this series & looking forward to some new ones. We did indeed remember the glory days whilst filling out the log as we did fireworks for the gladiators that did battle in this colosseum
Progress is not always for the best
Thanks Rabbitto

Found all the clues a couple of days ago but couldn't quite get to the GZ without suspicion. Found the cache on the way home from the Gathering at Jells Park.

24-Jan-05
Found by sbalogh53 at 18:15 on 24/1/2005.
Easy find. Interesting what they have done to this place.

23-Jan-05
Found at 1.55pm while on our way to look for water features for our newly re-designed backyard. Got the clues worked out ok and didn't have much trouble retrieving the cache at this time of day.
Thanks Rabbitto - not sure we would like to live in this "new" estate. All the houses look similar and very close together.

22-Jan-05
Found 19:25, at this time of day we could easily have turned this one into a drive by Twisted

TNLN thanks Rabbitto.

19-Jan-05
Being school holidays had three extra assistants. If we could count correctly and do the sums would have found it quicker instead of taking an hour. However easier to dodge people and traffic when we found it at about 9pm.

Maybe will revisit the new park when the promised re-development of the old Waverley is completed.

Thanks

Rabbitto

Big Grin This was our very first geo find! Guess you could call us Neo Cachers! Great location, what a pity the mighty Hawks still don't fly here. Go Blues Smile

Bit of a shame about the demise of the stadium... and how 'bout that architecture?!

Looking forward to many more... what a buzz.

09-Jan-05
Found by Ray and Maya at 7:34PM on the 9th of Jan. This is the first time that either of us has been to this venue. Incredible that an establishment of this magnitude could rise and fall within our lifetime. An easy find. Thanks for finally taking us to this place. Better late than never, I guess. Thanks from Tne Nomads.

06-Jan-05
My very first geocache! Yee Haa! Thanks to "The Ducks Guts" for their patience in helping me get started. Thanks to Rabbitto for placing the cache.

06-Jan-05
Went with a fledgling Geocacher to show them the ropes, so we were very glad that it wasn't too hard a find. They loved it, so we are sure they will keep doing it. Thanks Rabbitto! Smile

06-Jan-05
Found at 12.45PM. This area has been open for a cache for a while, I was planning to set one here once the new houses were all finished. Looks like you beat me to it. The clues were easy and I thought that I hgad the wrong final location after doing the calculations, but sure enough I did my math right this time. Thanks rabbitto from M.B.

05-Jan-05
Before even looking at the co-ordinates, I knew where this one was going to be. I drive past quite often while caching, although I have never visited it since its demise, until today.

I collected the relevent answers, did the maths, then walked over to GZ. A nice easy find. I placed my name at the bottom of the log page and retreated to my car. Thanks Rabbitto, for taking me to see the structure close up, and for the cache.

04-Jan-05
Found by Matry & David at 1540 in between showers. The rain held off long enough to manage the exchange at GZ. Lots of memories at this structure. Glad to see the last remnant is to be retained and put to good use. Pity about all the dreadful lego houses though. Our thanks to Rabbitto for the guided tour.

04-Jan-05
I vaguely remember this structure from it's glory days from family trips to relatives in Warragul ... we used to pass nearby on the way. Amazing to see how much things have changed in such a short time, but we thought the resulting structures were a little too 'same' for our liking. Had the cache in hand shortly afterwards - TNLNSL. Thanks Rabbitto!

Being and ardent supporter of the AFL (that would be Anti-Football League), I have never been here (or any football arena for that matter).
Nevertheless I don't let my beliefs get in the way of a good cache hunt.
The clues were interesting to find. Regardless of the structure it looks very bizzare sitting there behind the fences like the rotting teeth of an age old giant.
G and I collected the clues and we took off for the final cache location.
We didn't heed the advice re parking (G is only 4 and doesn't want to control the Palm at the moment), so as we drove past we noted where it should have been and parked across the road. Very light traffic on a day of rest for the employed so there was no danger to day.
A few moments at GZ and the cache was ours. G was a little disappointed that it was a micro multi and therefore no swaps for he, but she was soon over it.
Obviously took nothing and left nothing.
What we did notice though in the log is that it must have been early in 2005 when this cache was logged. Both dak and the GeoWombats have logged in with 2004.
I suppose they would blame lack of sleep or something.
Thanks for the cache Rabbitto. It took me somewhere I'd never been before (even if it was only half there).

02-Jan-05
For some reason, I woke up at 0600 and couldn't get back to sleep. Lo and behold! When I logged on, there was a brand new Rabbitto cache on the books. So, of course, I dashed out to secure the FTF before Muzza.

This location has been screaming out for a cache. It is one of the great sporting tragedies that this once magnificent stadium has been allowed reach its current state. The Emu Mob used to be members here in a former life (before geocaching). Anyhow, I gathered the required information, did the maths, and set off.

When I found the half golf ball visions of "The 13th Cache" swam before my eyes. Surprised I snapped out of it, searched more thoroughly, and the cache was mine shortly after at 0810. TNLNSL. Thanks to D,H,S,K,H & A B-A for the cache.

Well, we were still sleeping while Dak was busy claiming the FTF [|)] and we eventually wandered out this way just for the hell of it.
Easy find especially as noone was working at the offices behind the cache. This non-Melburnian is amazed that this stadium was allowed to come to such a fate. Surprised
TNLN.
