Visited on 24 May and cache has definitely been taken. Apologies to those who had TB's in the cache. I am archiving this with regret, so as to open the area for another cache to be placed. Feel free to do this...

Cheers, GC.

24-Apr-10
Couldn't find it, and had a pretty good look too! Did find a zip lock bag with pencil in it — so may have been muggled?

24-Apr-10
Will be there tomorrow at the Wrights Hill Fortress Anzac Day open day so will check out the cache.
Expect you found remains of it though as co-ordinates were spot on.

23-Mar-10
Nice viewpoint in the evening. Swopped TB, three in and three out.

27-Feb-10
First Cache that I have found. Great location. I Walked up from Campbell St. Bush track. beautiful day, no wind and lots of sun.

06-Feb-10
Found cache on open day at the Wrights Hill Fortress, (lots of muggles). The cache container was out in plain sight. It's a good job the little dell where GZ is located is secluded. Dropped Yankiwi TB, out Jeep TB. Didn't notice the listed GCs but didn't delve too far in to box either.

16-Jan-10
not much of a view today in the white white cloud and rain and wind...we swapped some TBs...

08-Jan-10
Went to fortress to fix the tunnel lights but they were working fine Sad
Good chance to find my first cache instead on this perfect Wellington day. Although I know this area quite well finding the cache took me to a secluded previously unknown spot on the hill.
Gps co-ordinates were spot on. Filled in the log and left ..... then returned with the cache pen and added another for luck Smile
Took nothing
Left a blue barrel Bic pen

07-Jan-10
Easy find in the evening - high winds and being on the verge of rain was obviously helping keep the muggles away, not to mention that there's not a lot to see in pitch darkness. Love these bigger size caches! TFTC. Smile

04-Jan-10
My first geocache - found with corenz Smile

04-Jan-10
Took shoelessgirl geocaching today and swapped some TBs Smile.

Bart wants to see Flight of the Conchords while he's here... though I think America might be a better bet for that right now!

A massive travel bug dropoff. Sorry about this! I'm on the way back to Australia shortly and had no time to distribute these around the place.

23-Nov-09
Found as part of my three week caching trip from Wellington to Auckland - # 75. Up the steps I went and found it in the first place I looked - happy about that. Thanks.

Found with diziet.sma after hiking up hill from GC12HPJ "cave at pooh corner". View almost worth it. Smile

22-Aug-09
For me, this was the cache of the trip. We had SUPERB weather, not a breath of wind, even up there, and lovely sun. Cache soon in hand, and then on to the history and the views. Thanks for brining us here. TFTC.

08-Aug-09
Initially we approached from the south side. Which I wouldn't recommend, as the walk is quite long... After 45 minutes or so of tramping, we spotted the carpark on the hill and decided that maybe there was an easier way.

Approaching from the north was much more pleasant, though less interesting from a dodging mountain bikers point of view...

Had to search for a bit to find the cache even with the hint. But it's there, just well camouflaged.

Added 50 pence (English), a 20 Kronor note (Sweden) and a travel bug with a cool fish attached that I picked up on Edinburgh.

Took nothing.

#124. Turned up at the overgrown GZ and were alone. Once we did our thing and were about to leave, we saw about a half dozen muggles milling about. SL, TFTC. -balloon, -butterfly, +spider, +old money.

06-Jun-09
Very few muggles about, but it took a lot of looking before I found it. Seems Lefty and I have been undertaking a Karori walkabout today. Took Nemo, Left TB Handcuffs. TFTC

28-Mar-09
Popped up here with B0RG JNR and muggle friends visiting from the UK, to show them further sights of Wellytown - They enjoyed the cache hunt so may take up the sport upon their return to the UK. Fabulous views, no wind at all today (only happens one day a year here!), and the history was very interesting - TNLNSL, TFTC! Cool

28-Mar-09
3rd find for the morning. Another stunning Wellington day with great panoramic views. The wind turbines are popping up quickly out Makara ways and looking quite majestic.

Fantastic spot, TFTC

28-Mar-09
Great spot for a cache. Amazing views and a cool large hole where the gun used to be.
TFTC, TNLN

TFTC.

13-Jan-09
Plan to replace the logbook next week when I am in Wellington. Thanks. GC.

13-Jan-09
Called in this morning to drop off "The Organist's Geotalk Geocoin 2". Only one page remaining in the log, needs attention. I don't know why more people don't make the effort to visit this cache - the view is just so good that it alone justifies the effort of going there - and the cache is only a few minutes' walk along a sealed path from the carpark.

08-Jan-09
Cycled up from Makara MTB park (and Thanks - GC1H6ZH) via Salvation trail. Broke a spoke on the way unfortunately so couldn't descend down Deliverance without risk of turing wheel into pretzel!
Nice location, looked less visited than lookout.
Logbook nearll full.
+ paua; - smiley puzzle.

Big Grin
Our first ever find. Had been up there a couple of times but had not managed to locate it - we are looking without a GPS system which I imagine makes it a little harder although we are still having great fun going to the different sites,

(0032 - 1255hrs)

It was a cold, cloudy day with a moderate wind. Stopped by while having lunch.

The view never ceases to amaze, every time I visit.

Nice little spot, had never noticed it nestled away. Found the cache without too much trouble.

Left a little dinosaur.

Found it. Easy when you know how. No wind today (which is rare for this spot) and beautiful views. Very warm 26 deg C. Dave, Jamie and Lilly.

27-Jan-08
Our first search and sadly could not find it. However, we were very thorough and am guessing it has been moved or removed.

12-Jan-08
Found with TreMichLan - fascinating spot, even with the wind and cloud cover

12-Jan-08
Cache No.101 for me. A very windy ascent to the Wright's Hill Fortress, but once there, a very easy find. Scoop81 and I took Peace TB

02-Jan-08
A late afternoon find -last of the day. Great spot with awesome views. NZ neatly sited. -coin, + Swedish Chef (-ex Muppets). TFTC.

26-Dec-07
Another cache on the morning cache mission with RadioNut50, ButterflyLady and TobiasNZ. Neat hiding spot for the cache. Pity about the path being a little overgrown near it.

26-Dec-07
The "wheelchair" approach was checked out, only to discover several spots where the path slumped, and the plants were in great need of trimming. Cache site itself required bush bashing. We were however rewarded with fantastic views in a full circle! All four of us were on the scent of a cache, but we approached it from the wrong side. Eventually we changed tact and had it.
Left the Travelling Peace Bug (resurrected!), as this was a place where defence was important, it seemed an appropriate spot to set it off on it's 2nd journey.

26-Dec-07
Nice Spot, TNLN TFTC

08-Dec-07
dropped by on way to event cache and collect the 2 coins which had been stuck for over a months will drop then off soon

01-Dec-07
Last of four successful finds on an afternoon walk around the Karori Sanctuary perimeter. Spent about 15 minutes going around in circles and hunting where I thought the cache should be (fortunately nobody else in sight) and finally realised I was just about treading on it! TNLN. Wonderful view from here, TFTC!

27-Oct-07
Left 2006 Kiwi Geocoin on my way by this morning.

22-Oct-07
Dropping off the apple geocoin I picked up from a cache yesterday - I might not be caching again for a wee while and this spot is somewhere I pass by on a regular basis.

It was visit the gun placements day today - I always get a surprise when this happens!

18-Oct-07

TNSL
GOOD LUCK HUNTING

14-Oct-07
Dropped off a coin I have had for a wee bit too long and plans I had to get it dropped off elsewhere have been stalled a tad, so here it goes instead.

04-Oct-07

02-Sep-07
Stopped by on jog to drop off geocoin for The House of Kumara to collect, if no one beats him to it!
