Well sadly will archive this cache. The road in is still gated off since the fires went through last year and to replace would probably encourage people to make tracks around the gates. Will look at replacing when/if the road in is reopened.

Well looks like it has been Muggled from lack of cover.
I'll try to get out there and replace it shortly.

Teach me not to be up to date with log reading - didn't see the last one from Devar till I got back tonight and could have saved myself a wasted journey into the hills. Managed to find myself on forestry tracks getting there - NOT advisable when in a 2WD! Searching the burnt out area yielded naught. Then back home on nightfall via the proper dirt road, but having to negotiate multitudes of kangaroos this time instead of rocks, branches and washed out gullies.
Very happy to get home again after this fruitless adventure.
Very happy to get home again after this fruitless adventure.
Whelp, I went twice, just to make sure, and it wasn't there.
Fire did reach the area, but I found no burnt-out cache, no hint of anything, so I think someone has found and removed it.

Devar, seeing as you are heading out that way I have enabled this one again. I'm pretty sure that it will be still there as there wasn't much in the way of flammable materials around it.

Am planning on checking this one very soon. Looking at the spoiler photos for the spot it's hidden, and the fact it's an ammo box, I'm fairly confident it'll still be there. Here's hoping...
Silent1 has sent me an email about the fires that swept through this area recently. ( Thanks mate) I am not sure if the cache is still there so I will disable it until I can get up and check on it. ATM the area is closed to the public so will have to wait for the reopening.

Another great spot we didn't know about. A few muggles were there having a bbq by the carpark. Found the cache quite easily at 12:10pm. TN-LN-SL. After replacing the cache, we went for a walk and crossed the dam wall. Were amazed to find it overflowing! We walked over to where the archived 'Annie Who' cache was and enjoyed the view. Ursula loved the big rocks near there. We both commented that it reminded us of the 1975 movie 'Picnic at Hanging Rock'! We didn't realise there was another cache here called Wombat 4! Thats because OziCE can only load 1004 waypoints, so I didnt have all the WA caches displayed. Oh well, good excuse to come back another day! We had a very enjoyable swim on the way back. Had the place to ourselves by then, so it was great to cool off. An excellent swimming hole.
Thanks for the hunt Team Beachbums

Easy find, at 12.45 especially since we had the place to ourselves, didn't manage a swim this time but will be back at a later date.

Found easily and thankfully it was easy as it was a very humid day. We enjoyed the look around while here and went to the end of the track to have a search for the other nearby cache (Wombat4). Its a great swimming place but as we were on our way to Dwellingup for an overnight camp we had to make it a quick visit. IN: Clock OUT: Rings

1st of the day. Dam was full of swimming muggles. Lovely day, was tempted to join 'em. Took pinball, teddy & red jeep, left SAA wallet, rings & Mr Square.
Beautiful day, middle of the week, not a soul in sight – perfect caching conditions . Found straight away. Left a TFTC card and took nothing except the Debbie the Dolphin TB. Cheers
Nice walk. Pity they have fenced off the usual walk way

Arrived thinking that the place would be free of muggles..how wrong we were. There were some trail bike muggles who we had to be careful of in case they looked up and saw us and wondered what we were doing.
The march flies were hungry as well...actually they were bloody annoying!!
Can't remember if I took or left anything..doh!!
Great view, we walked around and over the dam wall. This place must be fantastic in winter. No swim today it was a tad too cool.

Brought ZuesAl here to marvel at this great spot. While she filled in the log, I ducked off to see if my cache quiz prize had been retrieved (from memory the cache quiz finders got the answer wrong and therefore didnt find the prize - $5000 could have been yours!).
Sure enough it was still there...so I chucked it in the cache and made a log to this effect...so its a bit like Deal or No Deal....the ammo box cache, might have the 50 cents or it might have $5000!
Next finders get a free pic!

Last one for the day. Found it in partnership with Team Gunn Parker. Enjoyed a dip in the dam but found out that I was out of condition. Had not done any swimming in years.

We dropped in for a sundowner on Saturday night and check out the cache saw the Geocoin and couldn't resist picking it up.
Jan and I enjoyed reading the log book entries again.
Good to see that our cache visitors have enjoyed the spot as much as we do

This is definately my #1 cache location for 2005. As per my log of 13/11/05, brought the family back and we camped overnight (see pic).
Had a swim which was soooooo refreshing. We threw in a yabbie net for the kids overnight and only managed to catch 93...none were eaten or killed! But we did have heaps of fun letting them walk (& roll) back down the rock to the dam (see other pic).
This such a good spot - shame to tell anyone about it though geocachers are generally good sorts so I am sure no harm will come to this place if we spread the word.
The toilet is very clean too! Like Aushiker we saw some rubbish and did our bit to clean up but in general the place is rubbish free. Our camp site requires 4WD access though you could camp up near the toilets on the hill. Our spot is very secluded, has great space and a small flowing stream running behind it. The cache is probably not even 100m away.
I wonder if the dam is topped up by the mine? The water was flowing which is surprising considering the time of year.
Anyway..thanks for showing us this location. I am sure we will be back again.

YIPPEE.....Number 100.
Arrived at the carpark and GPS pointed straight to the rocks and I said to the son....it's up in those. Had seen the access track on the way in and decided to walk it as we had done enough four wheel driving over the weekend.
Got there and found within seconds dodging the prying eyes of some muggles in the car park. Made sure they left and logged the find.
TNLNSL.
Thanks for the hunt and a memorable visit for our 100th cache find.

What a magic spot! Found this cache easily (and in good condition) at 8:25 AM after doing a spot of exploring on the other side of the dam. Took the Fire Chief's tow truck and left a Sieman's SL45 phone case. Also took the opportunity to clean up some rubbish near the cache. Makes you wonder about people.
Enjoyed this cache. Another new hidden delight found. Thanks Team Beachbums.

What a fantastic spot. The view from the back over the edge of the dam to the scarp below was like a Bali Hotel pool setting. The water an amazing colour too. Not sure if you are allowed to camp here but I am going to try a discrete attempt around Christmas time (to test the water so to speak).
Cache took a bit of finding. GPSr had us circling around a pile of rocks on the lower level. After nothing was found we took the search higher up then allowed some logic to kick in - with success!
Goosey and I opened the treasure to sign log and leave calling card.
Thanks for showing us this spot!
PS: Have posted a pic too just to let others see what a wonderful spot this is!

With Bibra Boys, we approached from wrong side for best view & cache, so a careful wet walk across the wall ensued.
This meant we missed the enamel orchids as we approached from beneath. Saw them couple of days later when showing friends dam view.

Found the cache at 1:45pm. So beautiful view from the close cache. Enjoyed for the day. Dropped and picked TBs. Sign Log. Thanks for the hunt.
A nice and easy find. We have never been there before and it was interesting feature of the man-made dam by the edge. It looks as if its your own swimming pool with superb view. It would be a nice cool to swim in the summer time (very temptation). Thanks for the hunt, Team Beachbum.
Called past to check the cache. All looks good. We enjoyed reading all the logs.
Easy find, didn't even get the feet wet crossing the stream! Had to dodge numerous muggles but found the cache unseen.

This is a great spot that had there not been a cache here I would have never seen. We ignored the posted warnings and went down to the dam wall where it is great to see a dam overflow.

Gwiber and I arrived at this cache after 'P.O.W.' on the way back to Perth.
The dam is overflowing and it was hard to believe that the stream we had to cross over seemed to be the only source of the overflow as it was barely over our feet at the crossing.
TNLN
By the way we noticed that there are facilities available above the car park.

Found it fairly easily. Some bad judgement on our part made the whole walk from the carpark to the cache a whole lot harder than it need be.
Please be careful of Mountain bikers in the area. We use if a fair bit.

Magic spot. Absolutely great view from the dam wall, would have loved to spend more time here, but we have to head back to Bunbury before it gets completely dark. Will be back some other time. Ammo box well camouflaged, but maybe some ID is needed on the outside of it?! TNLN
Found easily - the gps let us straight there. Nice spot and I could keep an eye on the car as well. T: Smallworld TB, L: mini tool set. Thanks to Team Beachbums for the cache.
found it by team bings , I think this was my first find imagine how many marron are in that dam
This one was our first win, my husband and his mate are really getting hooked. The three of us set out on a hot afternoon, our first Cache earlier in the day proved unsuccessful once again but not to worry we will try again another day.
This one was an excellent trip, our friend who was driving loves going off the beaten track. We took a wrong turning and ended up on a bush track which made it all the more interesting especially for me as I was having my first shot at navigating with the GPS. I must say it's a very interesting pastime and I was quite chuffed with the find (my first) and looking forward to our next trip to find another Cache. Thanks to all who have provided us with this great pastime.
took the hair banger and left a little ceramic teddy.

Dropped off SmallWorld to continue his journey. We didnt think he would appreciate the NorthWest again especially at this time of year!
Ah the joys of owning a Palm!!! We downloaded all the latest co-ords before leaving Karratha as we anticipated limited internet access on our visit to Perth, hence, we still had the original co-ords when searching for this cache.
STILL it didnt stop this team from making the find thanks to some clever deductions from the non-blonde member of our team!! We arrived in the vicinity of the original co-ords and thought something was odd as we expected the cache to be near to our retired cache Annie Who?? It didnt take us long to figure that there was a trick involved in making the find! We headed over toward the Annie Who area where Ian modified the co-ords and then!!!! Yippee the cache was ours. Beaten to the first to find by TLC who must also have a "smarty" on the team. What would you do without Gizmo (only joking).
We left Small World travel bug and some other stuff which now three weeks and many caches later cannot be remembered. But it would have been good, ha ha.
Thanks Team Beachbums we really enjoyed the challenge along with yet another trip down memory lane.

Hmmmmm. The good thing about it all is that you have an excuse to go down some tracks that you normally wouldn't. A few more scratches on the car won't matter. A beautiful warm day on the Sunday and despite failing to find the cache that wasn't there, the drive to the end of Scarp Rd (Scarp Pool) is always rewarding.
A credit to TLC for actually finding it with the wrong co-rds!. Gives you a greater appreciation for what a minute means!

OOOPS!!! Can I plead "Oldtimers"? (forgot the number between keystrokes )) Sorry about that, but really Team Landcruiser you guys need something of a challenge. Geez, even give you guys the wrong co-ords and you STILL find it!! I'll have to make the next one harder for you!
Anyone that is attempting this cache I CONFIRM the co-ords that TLC posted are the ones I should have typed in. Can't change the listing atm as it's now too far from it's approved location.
So whats the new multi???????

OK Wayne you set this one up to test us didn't you?
Because the GC website was down today we couldn't get a print out of the cache and description, so we'll just follow the waypoint to GZ.
We headed out full of confidence and as we neared the co-ordinates things became increasingly difficult. We followed a series of unmarked tracks which continually ended at the conveyer belt line which is impassable. So we back tracked and drove around the Spur to the other side of the belt and followed one dead end track after another. We'd been up here previously for a DNF on another cache and it was beginning to look like this area didn't hold any favours for us.
This is where we sat down for a coffee and re hashed what we thought the cache description had said the night before. It slowly dawned on us that we were in the totally wrong area. So we played with the numbers till we got what looked like a likely location.
Luckily our first guess was correct and after a short trip we arrived at a suitable location. Parking within meters of the cache helps and it was located quickly.
The original co-ord's are about 1.57kms out due to one number. We've posted the new co-ords with this log ... you were testing us right?
One thing to watch out for is muggles walking the track to the dam for a swim, as they will likely see you before you see them.
Great cache in a great location, and lots of goodies to swap.
