Hello,

It is Rana Pirica, the geocache maintenance frog, once again hopping through your area to check on geocache maintenance.

I am going to disable this cache until I can check this out, unfortunately it may take a few weeks due to Hernia operation on Wednesday 15th.

07-Jul-09
DNF, but, after having read that other people haven't found it, I'd say it's either not there, or a very challenging cache. =D

TFTC anyway.

12-May-09
Had a really good look for this and thought i was going crazy not finding it, but when i checked the logs tonight, there are a few DNF's in a row. Dont think this ones here
?

28-Apr-09
Looked for this one for quite a while with davroy. Neither of us could find the cache. With 2 previous DNF's I suspect it may be gone.

15-Apr-09
Know this place very well. Tina used to live here as well as Cannons Creek. This is also one of the 2 places we generally take the boat out from. Thanks for bringing us back here.
Mozzies!!!!!!!!!!!!!

26-Mar-09
this cache is gone looked for it for 30min no luck

01-Mar-09
Very few muggles around, so I had time for a good look, but failed to turn this one up.
The area matched the clue perfectly but no luck.

07-Jan-09
Found this at our 2nd attempt, but the mozzies remembered us from last time and dined out like champs. We raced back to the car, slammed the doors shut, then killed maybe 20 that had come in with us, leaving a trail of blood all over the upholstery. People walking their dogs outside must've bathed in Rid before heading out, as they didn't seem to be affected. We even had one sitting outside on the car window, looking in while his mates were exterminated - I nicknamed him Cujo. Ouch!

16:03 Second attempt at this cache. We found it no problems this time, as there where less people around.
Took: Stylus
Left: Post-it notepad
Also took: Grandads spinning top TB
Will post some photos of the TB and send it on its trip Smile

28-Dec-08
Checked on this one the other day and all is fine and well. The Coordinates are spot on as one can get and with an EPE of 5 metres I was standing at it reading 1 metre. Previous coordinates where undertaken with 15 separate readings on 15 minutes each then the total averaged.

16-Dec-08
We spend longer than we should hunting for this cache, and still didn't find it. Wasn't that happy to read that the coords were out, but that there wasn't any corrected ones available on the cache page. Cheers Gav

09-Aug-08
Found after a bit of a search (and the use of the clue) Cache is damp but still functioning ok. I appreciated the excuse to drive off the main road which I have driven hundreds of times but never ventured down to this pretty spot.
Thanks, TNLN.

FlyingPigSquadron has landed !
On such a dreary day, surprised to see so many muggles and so few mozzies.
Thanks for showing us this area

FINALLY FOUND IT!
Came out here with more of a positive attitude, our 3yo was asleep, had aeroguard, plenty of daylight left, and within a few minutes found it, although it was about 15m NW of our "0m."
Cache was actually very exposed, and damp inside(log book was 100% dry), so we waited around a while after being in contact with Mr. Coffee. We dried everything out, and replaced as found, but covered.
I had to take 3yo home for a bit while Mrs went to get 21 Today and met Mr. Coffee
TFTCSL. Can't remember what we put in there!

13-May-08
Was getting dark, and still had no luck. Then, my keys on the leash unsnapped, so I lost them! Had to go up and buy a torch from the shop, found them, but not the cache!
Grrrrrrr.

27-Apr-08
This was our second for the day. Mosquitos really started eating us alive. Then our 3yo started eating at our nerves alive. So after about 15 minutes, we decided we live close enough to try again another day. [:(!]

20-Apr-08
Swung by today to drop in TB :Rubber Worm Guy" for a spot of fishing.

20-Apr-08
Passed by at 11.40am. Your cache container is still wet inside, but the new ziplock bag is keeping the logbook reasonably dry. TN. Left a crayfish. Cool cache - now I know what to do with mine! Thanks Mr Coffee.
Cheers

20-Apr-08
No luck with this one - we searched for about 10 minutes, but the mosquitos beat us this time.

30-Mar-08
A very peaceful place down here, so no problems searching for this one! Took TB Suske, LN. SL at 6:10pm. Thanks again Coffee's for the cache, we enjoyed our visit to this area this afternoon.

22-Mar-08
Oh the fun we had!

Firstly, can I say that for a spot that should be quiet and secluded, this area has an amazingly steady flow of people through it. Where they come from or go to is a bit of a mystery but pass through here they certainly do!

We came here last weekend and searched unsuccessfully between muggles, so a return today was always on the cards to try our luck again. And success was achieved!

Swung by here for a visit with the fishes today but the tide was out so we grabbed the cache instead.
We seem to recognize this cache container method from before, lost anything Mr. Coffee?
Found the log book to be so wet it is rotten, so we threw in a new one.
Took nothing, left log book.
TFTCSL, find #103 for Echo & Spice.

01-Jan-08
This one took a little longer than it should have. A case of thinking the logical hiding place is ---. But it wasn't!
Geojen found it. Had to dodge a few muggles including a kid who demanded to know what we were doing. I simply said playing a game. When he asked what game I said geocaching without any further explanation so the kid wandered off looking perplexed. All that was before we found the cache however. Like the other similar container, this one is soaking wet I'm sorry to say.
Anyway thanks again.

03-Dec-07
Apart from the mozzies that seemed to pounce from nowhere, this was a nice cache. The container is very appropriate, although the log was wet inside it. TFTC

03-Dec-07
Everything was fine until we stopped moving - then the mozzies attacked! Despite this is is a nice spot. There was only one person on the pier and she was drawing, so didn't take any notice of us.
The container has leaked a bit, and the log was wet.
Thanks, Robmc.

27-Sep-07
Another good spot. Found the cache after a few minutes searching. Moisture seems to get into the large bag but happily not into the log at all. (same goes for "A Walk past the Jetty" too). The mozzies followed me here so it was another quick entry! thanks Mr Coffee.

Used to own a block of land here at one stage but I had forgotten how big the mozzies breed here. When I go fishing I take my coffee & donut but alas no fishing rod with me and no donut shop to be had. TFTC Mr Coffee

12-Aug-07
Dropped by today and replaced container and log book. hopefully this one will survive the winter rain a little better.
also dropped off coin Dry Creek and TB the little red horse.

10-Aug-07
Had some trouble with a muggle walking his dog who wouldn't leave, but eventually was able to retrieve the cache. The contents were quite wet and I could only just write in the log book.

Find # 1673 and 8th of the 3rd day at 11:36am. Accompanied by Feathertop on our Peninsula caching long weekend. Easy find but the log book is very damp. TNLN, Signed Log, Thanx Mr Coffee ....Big Grin

15-Jul-07
Found with Oenze on our peninsula weekend. We obeyed the instructions and it was Oenze who came up with a familiar looking object. I think the contents may have been a touch damp as Eric complained about that damp smell you get sometimes in a damp cache. TNLN thanks Mr Coffee.

Thanks to Micaparamedic for the heads up on the water in the cache. I will drop by and fix, dry and replace what is needed.

14-Apr-07
It may be a 1.25 litre container but it held about 400 ml of water. Was seen by a muggle while tipping the water out and drying what I could, hopefully hidden well enough not to be muggled.

04-Feb-07
Found by Winchy at 2.45pm. What a busy place this is on a hot summers day. An area we would never have stumbled across if not for these caches. Fantastic and appropriate container and of course well hidden. Took Shark and left Cricket. TFTC.

27-Jan-07
Arrived at this one just as Alsume were looking for it. On my way back to the car to pick up the cache probe, Al gave that shout we all love to hear at 19:10.

This whole area intrigues me as it is what I would expect to see up in the northern part of Australia (without the crocs of course Big Grin).

TNLNSL. Thanks Mr.Coffee.

Found quickly at 7:10pm. Certainly an interesting cache container and very appropriate for Mr Coffee's Fishing Trip.
Took mini CD-R
Left gecko finger puppet

16:43 DNF as there were too many people around. Some guy was changing his tyre 20m away, and someone pulled up in their car for sightseeing see whilst we were near the GZ. We casually looked like tourists. It was a very busy saturday in this area!

11.00am
Found by Roma and Max in the company of The Swaggies.
This was our second time round for this one as well and it was starting to look as bad as last years effort.
This is a classic case of reading the hint and then interpreting it the wrong way!
Regrouping, it was Max who came up with the goods.
Thanks again Mr Coffee, we were very pleased not to have resorted to your help line on this one.
Out: Tiger.
In: Mondo Figurine.

Found by the Swaggies and Romax at 1100 hours. After some scouring of the area and beating off plenty of mozzies, Max made the discovery.

After finishing the nearby jetty cache ,the trusty GPS said "the fishing trip cache "was only 900m ...great !Drove up the dirt road ,got to bend said 500m so next turn left ,down to end and found a track .Only 300m now !!After a bush trek got closer and finally came to a beach and 180 m to go !Problem was their was Western Port between me and jetty over there !!!Great now for the trek back and long drive around.Arrived at the real jetty and barrier sign said "under construction, first 6 metres missing " !Moved around and found it wasnt this jetty .Got the gps down to 2...3 metres but could i find ..no.The big obvious thing i gave a working over, but zip here.Fiddled around for 20 mins with a few boardwalkers looking with strange looks.Took another leap off the wood and this time hit the booty .Struggled to get the thermos lid off for a while until i realised it was glued on ..jesus !Got off the adapted big end ,logged the book ,TNLN ,found at 3.30 pm and i could of done with a coffee here myself at this stage or at least a choc donut !!Many thanks to the BLACK COFFEE -now is that politically wrong team !!

My second visit here and luckily not many fisherman around today. I needed to have a good look, and then a really good look before finding this one. TNLN. Thanks Mr Coffee and the Coffee Clan.

23-Feb-06
I had a good look around for this one but with people collecting bait from the mud flats nearby I had to give up, cos they thought I was a bit strange. I think I know where it might be but it will have to wait until next time.

12-Feb-06
Dropped by the cache today and replaced Log book and cleaned up the cache container with some new swaps. Cache is also inside a large plastic bag and back where it was originally placed. Many thanks to those who have alerted me about the cache condition, much appreciated.

05-Feb-06
Found with mum, piggysue. SHe had been here twice already and couldn't find it so decided to use a new pair of eyes. We found a blue tongue lizard and the locals were quite interested in what we were doing-(wildlife research).
Finally when all the muggles had gone, mum persuaded me to stick my arm in a scary looking hollow log because she was certain it was IN something.
Finally found by me in an area mum had already written off!
The cache was very soggy. We did our best to dry it out and wrapped it in a new plastic bag. Unfortunately we didn't have a bag that sealed. Thanks for the coffee cache

05-Feb-06
Finally found this one! My first for the day on a caching outing with daughter piglet. I have visited this site several times with no luck but today with Piglet's help I can cross it off my list. Not sure how I've missed it in the past, I think I expected it to be more concealled. Found a blue tongue lizard quicker than I found the cache. He was busy shedding his skin.Everything is VERY WET. It was almost impossible to write in the log. Couldn't dry it but placed everything inside another plastic bag. TNLN

25-Jan-06
Found at 8:10am this morning, the first of 20. Had been close by to this one before and had tried to do a quick search but ran out of time. Came back today and after about 10mins of searching had it in hand. Contents were very wet (could hardly write in the log book). Tried to dry it out a little, not sure it helped, this one may need a maintenance visit some time soon.
TNLN.
Thanks.

Found by Bob and Dan at 16:10

Having received a new fishing rod for his birthday, Daniel was keen on trying it out today, so I thought I'd see what Mr Coffee's favourite fishing spot was like. After doing a few other caches, and having a bit of a fish at Warneet, we headed over here and were very pleasantly surpised by the 'fishiness' of this spot - it's not hard to imagine you are somewhere in the far north of Queensland rather than an hour's drive from Melbourne Big Grin. We didn't have much luck with the fish - we got a few bites, but there were a few people indulging in various water activities nearby which didn't help matters - we'll have to come back with the boat some time soon.

At least we found the cache (it seems to have been a bit of a toughie in the past) although it was around 8-10m west of where I calculated GZ to be. It was a little bit damp too.

TNLN

Thanks again Mr Coffee et al

Found at 6:00pm. Finally. After 3 visits, I am finally able to put my current nemesis cache to bed SmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmile.

Just to make sure this time, previous finders, Acts2youthgroup and Pprass were along to put me out of my misery just in case. My GPSr still points me to that "other spot" but after being told the direction to head, thyere was no problem in spotting the cache as 90% of the covering that used to be over it was gone and the cache was easily spotted. Real easy. Thanks Coffees from D B-A.

22-Oct-05
We found your cache thankz

22-Oct-05
Found with Muzza and Caleb, with A2YG and DAKs Emu looking on, within a few minutes. Muzza said he had tried a few times before to find this cache, but failed - today seemed to be our lucky day. Thanks Mr Coffee for the cache. TNLN.

22-Oct-05
I initially tried to grab FTF on this one when it first came out, but after trying twice on the same day, I was unable to find it. After others had found it, I returned, but still failed to locate it.

This time, I organised a group of cachers for a day's outing including this cache. DAK and A2YG had already found it so I was sure that one of us would be able to find it, either with or without help. To my delight, I was able to find it without any coaxing. I think, however, that over a period of time, it has become much easier to see. I couldn't have missed it three times before if it had been like it currently is.

Thanks for the four visits and for the cache.

01-Oct-05
Found this one today, on the third attempt, I can not believe that this one was where it was, must have walked over it a dozen times in previous visits. The cache is a little wet. Took very noisey key thing [:(!] Left Freddo Frog set.

Thanks Mr Coffee and the Coffee Clan

Third of fifteen finds in an assault on the Mornington Peninsula in company with acts2youthgroup. When I saw the number of DNFs for this cache, it was very definitely 'on the list' for today. We were determined not to decrypt the hint. We spent about 10 minutes looking around before coming up with it at 0800. I had read the logs before I ventured out, so this one was a GAFF2 find. Note to Rabbitto: look harder! Big Grin To be honest (and all chiacking aside), it wasn't all that hard to spot, in fact we had trouble hiding it well again.

The inside of the cache was a bit damp, that is, the silica gel sachets were wet, but the rest of the contents were in good shape. I've had the Shorty TB before, but I thought I'd take him for a ride anyway. One last thing: don't forget the Aeroguard! Thanks to Mr.Coffee (sans Clan) for the cache.

IN: Nothing
OUT: Shorty TB

25-Aug-05
Found at 08:00 third cache out of twenty one for the day in company with Dak Emu. After a short search and a few hundred mozie bites the cache was located, not really that hard when you use the force. I would have loved to stay and fish, but left the aero guard at home; I new I should of listened to Mr Walker. Took geo caching sticker and left a mini purse. Thanks fishing clan.

18-Aug-05
I was a bit worried about this one as I hadn't read the logs before arriving. Pretty much stumbled over it. My GPS had me within 8 mtrs with an epe of 6. Took Canadian coin, left key finder. Also left TB Shorty to contine the journey. Thanks for the visit to a great little spot.

11-Aug-05
i wont be able to do a CMC (Cache Maintanance Check) until after the weekend, I will try to check on this cache by early next week.

31-Jul-05
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh. This has become our new nemesis cache. Rang the Coffee hint line for a clue but even whilst talking to Mr Coffee and getting good directions still could not locate. Searched a while longer. Called again for further affirmation and still no luck. Tried to find stuff that matched the descriptions given. Nothing nearby seemed to fit. Mr Coffee rang back. The more we talk the less we are sure about anything. We knew Muzza had originally had trouble so we called for a different point of view. Bad pick. He still doesn't have it. Tried Maccamob. Sort of fits where we were searching but we still can't locate. Team Crackers were offline but rang back later with info that seemed to be the area that that nothing seemed to fit. Thanks all but we may wait for a couple more finds before trying again. Let me know if you're coming out again for a cache check Coffees. I'll come with you and if it's there you can gladly rub my nose in it.

19-Jun-05
We searched for 30mins for this one.
Like other caches in this area, damage is being done to the vegetation by cachers looking for these elusive caches.
We elected to withdraw and return another day when the GPS gives more precise readings.
Another gem of an area
K&M

28-Mar-05
Another great spot from Mr.Coffee, we love these locations as they remind us of the places we used to go to when we had a boat. GPSr was not being very co-operative while we were looking, so we had a peek at the hint and honed in on the likely area and at 5.05pm after about a ten minute search, we found the cache. Took: Willy the Worm and Helmet TB's, Left: Bottle opener. Thanks Mr.Coffee.

14-Mar-05
This was my third attempt on two separate days, but I still came up empty handed. The GPS pointed in roughly the same area as before. Now that there is a clue, I used this, but without success. A call to the Maccamob Hintline gave me further information, but alas, it still didn't help. I need my seeing eye dog for next time.

28-Feb-05
Tried this one yesterday but we were eventually driven away by mosquitos. Confident it was still there we returned this morning with aerogaurd for round 2. Did not need the aerogaurd as there was not a mozzie to be seen. Must have something to do with high tide. Found very easily, don't know how we missed it yesterday. Have lost the paperwork for this one, explaining the late log and as such have no idea what we took and left.
Also released TB 32pede.
Thanks again Mr. Coffee and clan.

27-Feb-05
Hunted around for about half an hour in between plenty of muggles and mozzies with no luck. Mozzies were driving us mad we will return soon this time armed with truckloads of aerogaurd. Thanks Mr. Coffee for the loss of a couple pints of blood.

27-Jan-05
Found by Mary & David at 1715. A new location gfor us, and looks great. Found fairly soon after checking the hint. No one around to disturb us, thankfully. Nice to see TBs Willy Worm and his good friend the Helmet Bug still together. We'd met them before so left them to enjoy the seaside. Took an Aussie key ring, left a Canadian $2 coin. Also left TB 32pede to keep the others company. Our thanks to Mr Coffee for another fine brew.

22-Jan-05
Found 11:30, the previous logs had us a bit worried but in the end a nice easy find Big Grin

TN but left TBs Helmet Bug and Willy Worm, thanks once again to the Coffee Clan.

20-Jan-05
Found by caughtatwork at 10:00
EPE 4m, distance to cache 8m.
Well within the normal tolerance for my GPSr. Thanks for leaving me a FTF muzza.
I got to the location just as the sky was darkening, the boom of thunder and the flash of lightning was awesome to behold over the water.
Hoping I wouldn't get soaked I got to GZ and saw the geotrails that led the way. After reading the DNF's I chose to ignore the trails and ventured off a short distance away.
About 5 or 10 minutes of trying not to stomp on too much vegitation I spotted something that could be the cache ... and it was.
I won't annoy all of the DNF's by stating that this was easy, but, um, this wasn't hard at all.
Now that I'm home I see a recent hint has been added. Not sure it would have helped, but hey it wouldn't have hurt either.
Took bath bombs, left 6 piece stamping set.
Thanks to Mr Coffee and the Coffee Clan for leaving a cache, 71.2km from my home (as the crow flies) so I could be a FTF. I think this is the furthest FTF I have found.
You can now rest easy Mr. Coffee. The cache is still there and can be found.

18-Jan-05
Like the rest I also have failed to find the cache.

15-Jan-05
OK. You say it's there. You have rechecked and it's still there but blowed if we can see it either. The GPS continually pointed to the open area and we checked and rechecked all points there and could not find. From there, the wooden object is around 6m away from GZ and we're fairly sure it's not there. The harder search area to the left of the open area from the wooden area, we had a reasonably good look at 8-10m from GZ. The harder search area to the right we had a light search but we were now 12-14m away. At 45 minutes it pained Rabbitto to walk away empty handed Sad. An it's a 1.25 litre container too [B)].

As with Muzza I was unable to find it. GPS took me straight to a likely looking clump of reedy grass with a lovely empty hollow. Spent 35min here checking all the likely spots and searching in ever increasing circles but to no avail. I also walked away and came back but still the same location and nothing. I was hoping to find my first ever FTF. It'll have to wait.
Nice place.

After a couple of local virtual caches, this was my first real cache for the day. I arrived in high spirits, but ended up leaving empty handed some time later. According to my GPS, GZ moved around a little, but after checking most possible places, I still was empty handed.

After a while, I abandoned the search to head for a couple of other local caches. On the way back, I stopped in here again, hoping that the GPS would lead me somewhere I hadn't looked previously. Unfortunately it took me to the same area. After a little bit of a look, I left. At least this way, I have left a First To Find for someone else, after nabbing 3 Mr Coffee FTF's and two Partic FTF's in one day. I'll shall return, but it may be a while.
