I'd say this one has fallen victim to fires or muggles. Probably not the latter.

Well it's been 18 months since we (Mrs Biggles & I) were last up here together so we decided to return for the day to try our luck with finding this cache (again). I wasn't sure how far I could push through since there were signs warning of various track closures due to extreme flood damage but we manage to get to the King Billy track (which is closed) from Refrigerator Gap passing Bluff & Lovicks Hut via the Bluff track. Anyway after a good 40 minute search we gave up and headed back off the mountain range via Brocks Road before darkness settled.
I'm not sure whether this cache still exists although previous log entries imply that it does. We used the clue(s) to no avail even though it did lead us to a particular location and a specific hiding place. I took some photo's which I will send to the owner for confirmation or otherwise. Watch this space for an update!
Oh, and I had a little Hummer TB with me so even though I didn't find the cache I'm going to log it as visiting anyway.

Did a really good seach and dig but no cache, decided to give it a miss the second time.
[Hi all. It's grossly unlikely that this would have been muggled. Additional hint: ] Hollow at tree base within a few steps of gate post on the side heading toward King Billy Tk. [Film container. Only reason this one would really go missing would be a fire, or someone observing a cacher finding it removing it.

Searched for nearly 20 mins with T.Trudi as part of our high country tour but no luck for us today. Performed a fair bit of gardening around GZ due to long grass but this micro avoided us this time. Will look again if we pass through this way in the future. Unfortunately King Billy Track was closed so had to head down Brocks Road and take the long way over to Butcher Country Track on the Macalister River.
1st cache for the day after deciding to skip the Bluff trek (GeoPrincess wasn't up to it). We couldn't believe that when we pulled up at GZ there were people camping here! Lots of beautiful old snow gums here & many potential hidey holes which are hard to check whilst in stealth mode. Luckily there were some lizards around and we directed our cache search with the code word "lizard" which, unfortunately, our darling 9yo GeoPrincess just didn't cotton on to..... Nevertheless after a short search of the area and Dad had cache in hand - after having to move a lizards tail to retrieve

Decided to look for this one while on a day trip (Melb - Merrijig - Licola - Melb) having stopped at King Billy 2 for lunch with Mrs Biggles however despite our best efforts we were unable to locate it. It's been 12 months since the last find so the cache may now but a memory - or maybe so well hidden that we couldn't uncover it! Might go for the Bluff next time so I hope that one is still available.
Lovely location where we stopped for a bite to eat, we were surprised with the amount of muggles around this isolated spot but despite being interupted a few times came up empty handed on this cache, we would have asked as the clue implied but if djcache was around he was hiding from us having a giggle.
Found at 1800. We passed by this one earlier in the day on the way to 'Bedevilled', and whilst we were tempted to jump out and search for it when we only 16m away, given that it was a micro in the bush type cache, we decided to have a go at it if we had time. As it was, we came back by here, and after a 5 min search, DJ Rascal made the find, although the cache may have not been sitting in it's original spot, as it was simply lying on the ground. We placed it back in a spot that was suitable before making the long journey back home to Wodonga.
Thanks DJ for the effort of placing this cache.

We passed earlier in the day on the way to another cache, even though the GPS said 16mt.
A micro in the bush could have taken us ages to find so we left it until we came back. Turns out we didn't have to look hard, there it was for all to see just sitting on the grass. Don't know how long it had been there but log everything was intact and dry, so we signed the log, placed it back where we thought would be a good spot and went on our merry way.
Cheers.

Fire behaviour at this altitude is low, and there wasn't much fuel to cause a problem here. Tracks to this area close in three weeks. I'll be up in spring when they reopen for a look. If anyone attempts this cache and has a problem finding it prior to Queens Birthday weekend when the tracks close, please log a DNF.

Under direct threat from fires.
This cache will be off line until the fire situation stabilises and may require a cache check before going back online subject to fire boundaries when it's all over.
At this point all tracks into this area are closed.

This is sneaky! Now I know what a micro cache is. Small! Found on a 4WD trip with CITYWEST 4x4 Club. This is magic country and a great lunch spot. Thanks DJCACHE for the challenge.
This cache was a bonus easy find which happened to be within 60 metres of where we parked on my assault on Derringer's Beyond the Cap Cache. (which incidently I did manage to find) The contrast couldn't be greater. You might say we virtually stepped out of the car onto this one whereas Derringers cache was a walk of more tham 20km. Thanks DJ This is a very beautifull part of the world indeed.

The third cache of the City West 4x4 Club Wonnangatta camping trip.
This one turned out to be a bit tricky, but an inadvertant clue given by Penny (of ian-and-penny fame) pointed me right to the cache.
Carrot #78 was small enough to fit neatly in the micro so we left him here for safekeeping.

Found this one in the company of many others on the History Mystery 4WD weekend.
I was checking out a slightly different location when DJ suggested I re-read my cache notes.
If I had not taken his advice I would have moved on, and *possibly* been the actual finder. OR if I had read the notes properly in the first place I wouldn't have wasted time looking in the other spot.
Note to self (& other cachers) don't skim, read the notes.
Thanks DJ

Found this one with the rest of the members of team two on the History, Mystery High Country event. Took a little while to find this, in the end it was found in a spot both BB and myself had previously looked. Filled in log and enjoyed lunch before moving on.
The Pyreneese Kid and Mikita decided to sacrifice aesthetics for speed and jettisoned part of their vehicle at this stop, which added quite a bit of fuel to our later conversations
Thanks DJCache for this bonus cache

Was wandering around about 8m away when the cry of 'found it' rang out. Waited with the rest to fill in the log. Enjoyed a great lunch stop at this beautiful place. TNLN. Thanks djc.
DJcache and family dropped in on History, Mystery, High Country, leading group 1.
Congrats to Maccamob for FTF while I cut up the fallen tree. Ironic really given that the trees were the theme of the cache.

Found by Mary & David at about 1205. A pleasant spot to break the journey from Fry's Hut to the Wonnangatta Valley during the History, Mystery, High Country Event. The GPSr batteries died just as we started the hunt and the rest of the Event Group 1 crew spread out looking for the cache. We were all accompanied by the sounds of djcache's 'noisy axe' as he cleared a fallen tree from the track. With the GPsr alive again, joined the hunt and managed to locate the cache cunningly hidden in a spot that had already been checked a few times. TNLN. Thanks to djcache for the all-round entertainment.
