Have moved out of the area and cache is well outside the easy maintenance run distance. Picked it up today.
A lovely spot and suprisingly good view alright. Seems to be quite a bit higher in altitude than the easy drive up Corcoran Road would suggest.
Continued on up the hill for the other two caches.

10.30am
While driving south to New Plymouth, decided to stop and do a few caches along the way. After initially going up the wrong road as didn't read the finer details about the cache, found the location without too much difficulty. Could see for miles as it was a beautifully sunny day.

Finall the rain receeded, the clouds got higher, and the sun's come out!!! Now we can enjoy the view of Waikato! Beautiful view this afternoon. Thanks for the cache!!!
A nice spot for a snack b4 the climb upto Ruapane. Quick and easy find. P.S. only restrooms available at present are the green leafy kind - toilets removed.
Beautiful day, found on the way up to Lookout! Ruapane cache. Container a tight squeeze for all the contents. TNLNSL.
Easy to find. It started raining just before coming to parking lot, so we did just a quick visit to picknick area.
Found on the way back down after the summit.
Walked directly to the cache and picked it up, no need to look for it not that I had much energy left.
A nice view.
Cheers

Nice road up the hill and lovely views today, we could see for miles.
Started out on wrong track but soon realized we were headed for the heavens so quickly changed our minds. A quick easy find after that.
In - fish out of water
Out - shoe badge.
Thanks for showing us another lovely picnic spot.

Quickly grabbed this one before going back to the car after coming down from the summit. Great views, but quite cold today. Rather late lunch and carpark just about deserted. TFTC
16:10 - Nice easy find this one. Day not so great so views we did not see. Still, we enjoyed this one as I used to tramp to the summit from this spot when I was a teenager. My only regret is we didn't have time to climb the Ruapane ridge and grab that cache. It will have to wait until the next visit to Hamilton. Thanks for bringing me back to this spot and for the awesome memories!
Beautiful spot. Definitely worth another visit at a better tine for a more interesting photo.
Beautiful sunny day, fantastic views. This is our family's first ever cache find! Took Tai coin, left golf ball.
A very quick & easy find. Instructions spot on! But it did also help seeing the very long grass had a well trodden path (flattend grass) to the exact location. Trod down several other routes to even out the odds. In Kiwifruit toy, Out NZ tourist dollar. Would have been a great view if the rain that hugs the mountain had not been present.
Great view of the Waikato...well worth the visit. Thanks for bringing us here Squeekybobo

You have to watch yor entry.
definitely check the car park!!!
I searched over many roads and did half the other walk before i realised i was entering from the wrong road.
Secret is to view the final viewpoint and work back to find the correct road to enter from!!
From a round mountain its easy to get the entry wrong
