I took the scenic route from Alexandra to Cromwell today, I managed to collect most the caches along the way as well as spotting some very cute tiny lambs We drove the Ute right up next to the GZ where I was lucky enough to move the right object straight away for a quick find. I added my name to the log and replaced in its hiding spot. Thanks for the cache
I did not pick the best of days to come up. My vehicle is 4wd so getting up was not an issue coming down was a slow and steady trip. The rain made it very slippery. A quick find once the GPS settled. Nice to get an older cache. Thanks
Drove up on a whim and was thrilled to see a cache nearby. This is officially my seven year olds favorite- signed as Emilia with a note how much she loves it. Especially the boulder nearby that looks like a trex
Cool to see such an old cache it such good condition. The container is a bit broken and could do with replacement to keep the contents dry. Cheers
Thanks for placing a cache up here. Heading home today but time for a bike ride up here this morning. I dont think I would be brave enough to drive up here but it should be fine enough on a dry day. Amazing views . FP
Great view. It took a while to find the cache, just so, so many possible hiding places that matched the hint. Got it in the end though & we loved exploring round the rocks. Beautiful spot, thanks for placing this cache & bringing us up here.
Saw the sign to the lookout near lunch time so came up. I had confused it with the one in Alex so was steeper than expected. A bit of wheelspin in the camper but a slow 2nd gear climb. Rewarded with spectacular views. Picked up the TB now see if I can find the other one before the nasty but slow trip down. Definitely a fave.
Great views and great tors here. Took a bit of searching. Once I was positive it wasn’t where I thought it would be I changed tack and soon had it in hand. Easier than where I was looking!
Dropped TB

Out and about enjoying the history of our country and discovering hidden gems.
Today was the day for a drive up to the Clyde lookout getting the caches on the way. Found this one easily enough, after an earlier DNF....with no scratches from the bush

Made the 200m stagger up the hill as Searchwisely admired the views near the Lines in the sky. I spent 10 minutes searching, it was hot, it was windy, and i couldn't find. Googled to see what a matagouri was, but already knew due to bloody legs. Lifted a stone to see two lizards sleeping, but soon scuttled away. SW messaged me as she was locked out of car and i had the keys. I called the search party off, this will have to wait for another day. Thais for bringing me here.
Amazing views from up here, well worth the play in the 4WD. Thought I was going to DNF it but finally spotted the cache before giving up.

Staying in Clyde for the holidays so headed into the hills above for a bit of exploring. Great views! TFTC
Managed to drive here from the Nevis turnoff in the soft roader. This was an incentive to do so. Okay if the road is dry.
Well have an opp on my shoulder about 4 weeks ago and still got about 4 weeks to go before I'm back at work so I thought I would come visit some friends in Cromwell for a few days so was a great time to find a few caches. While we were up the Nevis Valley we thought it was a good time to go over the Hawksburn and grab a few caches up there as well. I'm very glad we did as it was a great trip and the view from this location was awesome. TFTC ☺

Heading home after a few days in Bannockburn.Took the scenic highroad along Hawkesburn Road.Road dry today, would be difficult if wet.Cache found a few metres from GZ after a bit of searching.TFTC
We had driven up to the lookout and were enjoying the brief afternoon sun - so let's walk a bit further to this cache! Added a dry logbook.
Wonderful walk up here on a beautiful day. Log still quite damp but able to write on it. Pity I didn't check listing before leaving the car - I could have brought a replacement!
TFTC GaryMck!

NEEDS TO dry OUT. Yes It was a bit wet. Would have let it dry myself but in a bit of a rush. After 1.1Kms walk...more actually ...from where I left the car, it was quite a jaunt. Lovely views and would never had ventured to this spot if not a geocasher LOL
Took us a little longer that it should have to find this cache as my GPS was out by 7m. Great view from up here, well worth the walk. TFTC
Found this on the way from Bannockburn to Clyde, after stopping to admire the view

A great spot for a cache. Fun drive up the hill and a quick find once we started looking properly. TFTC.
Great views from here and an exciting 4WD to get here. Not quite in the same place as co-ords, but we found it non the less in the area.

Thanks for placing this cache!

Nice find after climbing over, under, beside the rocky outcrop but didn't need to climb anything - just walk around looking hard. I was determined to find it after climbing from the car park at the bottom of the hill. Thank goodness there were 2 pencils too as there was no pencil in "lines in the sky". Took 1 pencil back so I could sign the log.
Wow. The views just get better. And only beached the truck once on the way up

Rode our scooter up here which was somewhat daunting at times but we made it! Great views! TFTC
Phenomenal! Ineffably beautiful. If you can, just come for the vista. Thanks Gary!
Very proud of myself walking up here. Stunning views. Found cache with Old Boots TFTC
Another good find heading slowly towards Dunedin. Tough track for my 2WD camper but made it to the cache site. SL TFTC

Decided to leave the poor van at the carparking area and ran up to GZ, it was only a 1.1km trip so not bad, awesome views up here and well worth it, it seems I am the first visitor for a wee while, thanks.

found on the way home to cromwell over the top, lovely drive on a beautiful warm autumn afternoon
Nicely hidden, but got it in the end. Some good looking MTB'ing tracks up here too. TNLN, TFTC.
5851 Stunning views and impressive rock formations, an excellent spot for a cache, many thanks.
local map names a spot near rowing club as Dunstan View....we were going up to suss MTB track, so trusted GPS and went straight to cache
I had no idea what a matagouri was.
The GPS was very accurate, but it still took me quite some time to find the right spot.
Well hidden, but in the end quite logic.

Scrambled up the dirt road from the lookout, and then spent 15 minutes climbing all over the outcrop.
I wasn't leaving till I found it, and the clue was no good to a visiting Aussie.
Nevertheless, it was worth the walk, and the view.
My thanks to GaryMck for bringing me here, SL

Pushed on up the hill from Lines in the Sky, you could drive to these caches but the walk makes the find more worthwhile and the view more enjoyable. TFTC
A hefty mountain bike ride up the hill, tough work but well worth it for the view. Thanks very much, maybe next time i'll carry on over to bannockburn.
