Most unfortunate, but a new hide in this vicinity would not do the cache justice. A beautiful little footbridge is gone, and a concrete culvert replaces it. Why? There was nothing wrong with the bridge! (and everything right about it - it had a cache underneath it!).

09-Nov-14
Major earthworks at GZ and removal of the perfectly positioned structure that the cache was hidden under. Will try to determine if a replacement hide can occur.

09-Nov-14
No luck today. Maybe the coords. were wrong! The place we searched has had a lot of earthworks carried out building a new culvert, so may have been disturbed or muggled even.

09-Nov-14
Coords correct. Cache location destroyed. Find logged with grateful permission of owner.

03-Oct-14
Solved this one a while ago, not as simple as it seems as it requires multiple steps to solve, but at least it doesn't hurt your brain Smile We went looking for it today and came up empty initially as we only took a cursory look at both possible hiding places. On our way back from completing our short walk in the park, we had a more thorough look and soon had the cache in hand. TNLNSL TFTC

After reading the puzzle we thought we had a solution but were uncertain about one digit. Today we went to look for the cache and, although there were many muggles in the area, we were able to find the cache quite quickly in a location out of the gaze of others. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the puzzle and cache Frozen Feet.

Having been out for Mr Honeysucker's 50th birthday tea, a few of us decided to go get some caches. Out with The Kelly Gang, Silvera Snitch and ParisLaura while they found lots of caches and I found 2 Wink
Lots of laughs and fun watching them looking for caches I had already found! Cool

This cache was not unfortunate tonight, it had lots of laughs and lots of attention Wink
Walking in wet grass with sandals on, accompanied by geocachers who weren't expecting to be geocaching (Seriously [?] ) is always fun! Cool

A nice little puzzle, usually my uni assignments look very similar after trying to write one at 2:00am.

A quick find by moonlight and torches with a couple of friends.

Thanks for the adventure

Enjoyed the short walk to the GZ and found the well hidden cache. TFTC

Gotcha!

I too think that grammar is the most important thing in the world. Most of my work colleagues think that that is quite unfortunate.

The other thing that is unfortunate is the failure of the adhesive on the back of the cache. I don't know where the magnet is, but I found the cache on the ground. I placed it back somewhere that looks safe, but it is far from secure.

Thanks Team Wibble

Fortunately the puzzle was solved and fortunately I found the cache on a quiet day in the park. Dropped off a TB TFTC Cheers

It's magnetic personality has been lost. I think the magnet is still on the structure. The cache is resting neatly in position but not sure it will stat for too long.

IF A HUNTER KILLS A LION AT A ZOO, IS HE REALLY A HUNTER? I AM A HUNTER!!

Fortunately I was able to find this unfortunate cache.
Unfortunately it was lying on the ground under the structure.
Fortunately it hasn't been muggled.
Unfortunately it appears to have come away from its magnet.
Fortunately I was able to place it safely back but it will need some help.

It was fortunate that Mr Tardis managed to get a solution to this puzzle cache.
It was fortunate that Mr Tardis was in the area and made a quick lunchtime visit.
It was unfortunate that Mr Tardis spent 10 minutes searching in the wrong location despite his better senses telling him where the cache would be.
It was fortunate that the cache was found Smile

Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Team Wibble.

Thanks for the puzzle, this one had me stumped for ages, then the penny dropped.
Nice walk to log the cache, a pleasure to search for a cache and not be surrounded by muggles.

30-Dec-12
That's better! After a heads-up from Team Wibble we were able to go back to the puzzle and find the digit we had wrong. Then a short walk on a beautiful Sunday morning and we soon had the cache in hand. Not too many muggles for such a lovely day. TFTC! #25

28-Dec-12
An unfortunate cache indeed. Solved this puzzle over coffee this morning and was looking forward to another Team Wibble cache. However, the solved coordinates pointed to a large expanse of nothing with a rather suspicious patch of loose soil in the middle. Google maps confirms the recent presence of a tree that, I'm guessing, was the home for this unfortunate cache.

Seems we were barking up the wrong tree Smile Owner has now confirmed that the cache was not located in the poor unfortunate tree ... Back to the drawing board. Thanks TW!

Found this log sitting in my field notes in Geosphere on my iPhone and realised I had never uploaded it. Here is what I typed into the field notes:

I solved this puzzle long beore I ever walked ovor to find and sign the logbook. I love Linear patk, and try to rid3 or run alon6 its trail5 often. Its not easy to enjoy it in the coller months, but when you've e cache to find its easi. I didn't find the container right away and to I looked he2e and there. I 1ooked up and down and squatted and kumped. Finally I spotted it in its hiding place! I sugned the sogbook and went on my merri way.

A fortunate cache for us today!

After planning to do another nearby puzzle cache to fill the calendar hole, we found that the muggles were just a bit too thick in number this afternoon. So we bailed out to look for this one instead. A quick find and not a muggle in sight.

Thanks Team Wibble for the cache; ain't English fun!

We've had the corrected coordinates sitting in the database for so long now it feels like the puzzle was solved in a previous life. Today we set off for the nice easy stroll to finally log the find.

As we approached, we saw a woman very close to the cache placing fallen branches around the base of a tree. She was being very delicate and particular about it, and couldn't work out why she'd be doing this. We soon met, and we were informed that there was a small injured parrot that was being swooped by other birds. She was placing the leafy branches over the bird in an attempt to prevent the offending swoopers from pecking it!

She then jogged off into the distance, leaving us to find the cache, and look at the poor parrot, wondering what his fate would be?

As we made our way back to the car, I noticed another cache show up near a drain. I told Mrs J that I was sure there was an unsolved puzzle cache starting there. I sure felt like a dill when I later discover it was a nice easy trad cache that we could have grabbed whilst there! Oh well, it was such a nice park we're sure to visit again someday.

Thanks Team Wibble, for the great cache and the confirmation our data wasn't out of date. Big Grin

No problems interpreting the clues for me, perhaps it's my tendency to cross t's and dot i's (or is that "t"s and "i"s?). Anyway, worked it all out and finally got over here to search.
Reading the logs and so on, the container may have moved around a little bit from original location. It certainly didn't make use of magnets or glue where I found it, but it was out of sight (at first).

Didn't swap anything. Had to dodge a council worker mowing the grass, but overall easy finding. Now to catch a bus and go to work.

Wonderful theme and poem. Although I'm familiar with this particular string of events, I haven't read them so I needed to do some delving. All was revealed.
Finding this capped a day of mystery caches that I've wanting to finish for many months. Locating this was almost the opposite of unfortunately as I saw it as soon as my eyes became accoustomed to the darkness. Nearly got cleaned up by a cyclist as I finished returning it. THAT would have been unfortunate! TFTC Team Wibble.

There was nothing unfortunate about this cache. The puzzle fell into its place reasonably quickly. The drive from work to GZ was pleasant and swift. The sun was shining and the walk was very enjoyable. Also the cache was located in one of the first places I looked. All planets were alligning, my spirits were high. Everything was rosey until....... I attempted to find the next two puzzle caches. If you want to read about some unfortunate events you'll need to visit my logs on Cipher Gold and Cipher Silver.....

Found this one tonight after another Team Wibble cache came out not far away. After talking with the owner about the puzzle and still failing to work it out, another geocacher confirmed our suspicions of where it may have been, so we took a nice walk in the moonlight to recover the cache.
took:Geo tattoo
Left : Nothing for now ... Had empty pockets but loved the tattoo. Mrs Fluffy has always wanted one, will return.. Razz
Thank you for the cache Team Wibble

Decided to take the dog for a walk in the midst of a this massive storm and check out the river level. Amazing how much water was coming down today. Not to mention whole trees!!! Looked in a random spot and found a cache. Woo hoo!! I always thought there was one here but never spent the time to look. Second find in the sea of puzzle caches around here. Now I just need to remind my mate to bring round his microscope so I can find clear up the next. Or perhaps I might find it randomly which ever comes first. Long live Brute Force caching. TFTC

Found this as part of the group down from Queensland for a cache raid this weekend.
After a pleasant little stroll from another nearby cache we arrived here.
With many hands on the scene we soon had this one in our grasps.
It was all nice and quiet today, I think we only saw a couple of cyclists.

It was rather Unfortunate that I should log a DNF as I Unfortunately made a minor error that Unfortunately put us in a plausible place.
Fortunately I confirmed my error before being Unfortunate in searching Unfortunately for a cache that was Unfortunately in a different location.
Cal and I did visit close by, because fortunately there was a convenience nearby which we needed to use. Unfortunately the other cache that was was close by to my Unfortunate error was Unfortunately unable to be found by ourselves. Fortunately I have friends for the next visitSmile
Unfortunately Cal and I weren't able to make it to the correct location for a search to determine whether we'd been fortunate or Unfortunate in searching for An Unfortunate Cache. Fortunately we should be able to return one day. Unfortunately it wont be today.

Worked the puzzle out pretty quick but still confirmed the answers with the owners before venturing out.
How unfortunate it would be to search the wrong spot. (it happens all too much)
Nice puzzle, easy stroll and a good cache at the end to round it out.
Cheers and happy caching.

03-Dec-09
You made too many spelling mistakes for someone that likes grammer

03-Dec-09
The spelling mistakes are obviously deliberate and form part of the puzzle relating to this cache.
Placing a needs maintenance log on a cache for a reason like this is really just abusing the needs maintenance log function.

03-Dec-09
And I won't point out the obvious when it comes to spelling whilst writing needs maintenance logs.

03-Dec-09
That's the first time I've ever seen a needs maintenance log for the spelling on a cache page, let alone the fact that it's supposed to be there!

I'd suggest a bit more homework is done before Needs maintenance logs are posted against caches Big Grin

Last cache for the evening and a lovely spot to finish on. My feet were so sore and blistered from walking all day with wet shoes but I made the stroll to GZ despite this. The area was quite pleasant now that the rain had stopped and the air was still. I startled a possum on the way back, better wildlife than muggles though.

This cache was made harder by me because I was trying in my own way to complicate it as usual, with a nudge from miss W last night the puzzle was solved in no time Big Grin

So this afternoon I went and put my name in the log Big Grin the log is a little damp and the fastening system needs to be put back onto the container apart from that this was a gr8 cache and a nice big area for the geoKelpie to run and swim (idiot).

It was almost very unfortunate indeed, with the number of muggles and council workers around, we nearly missed it for avoiding them! Cheers Wibbles!

This one is 5th on my list of caches closest to my home, and it's the first not set by Zytheran (who from that statement could probably estimate my address Smile).

I made this one way harder than it needed to be. I think I even invented a whole new branch of mathematics on the way Big Grin. It buckled under the pressure this morning though.

Enjoyed the walk to GZ on a lovely day. Not too many muggles around to make the search difficult. Signed the log and replaced. I notice that a certain Adelaide caching assault team have been here recently. Accidently found by muggles just before Christmas too.
