As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Might be time to let this one go and free up the spot for others.

27-Dec-06
After a quick chat with the previous finder, it seems this one may have gone missing again. I will check it soon, but if it is gone I won't put it back out due to me moving to Melbourne soon.

27-Dec-06
Tried using the hint to find, but was unable to locate. Will have to wait for another day.

22-Dec-06
Final cache on a 12km five cache trip just South of the LBG.

Found this pretty quickly, bit of a relief as it was getting hot. Nice hiding spot. TNLN TFTC

I decided today would be a good day to cycle around the lake, but I overdid it a bit. I'm sunburnt and have some very sore anatomy! This was the 4th of my 15 finds today, out of 24 caches attempted.

I've got long arms, but this was a stretch! It would have been a nice spot for lunch, had I had some with me. Oh well.

Found @ 1:44pm

Second of two caches today - I was on a caching run and had run from Acton Action to here. "Only" 800m as the crow flies but just under 3k on foot!

No problem actually locating this one but it was quite awkward to retrieve & replace despite having long arms! Thankfully no muggles about for the retrieval & replacement.

Nicely placed rock to sit & enjoy the view as well as to examine the cache contents & fill in the log.

Took: tiny red star
Left: coloured wooden dog keyring (retrieved from Action Action)

NB: Several non-keyring items present: what's with that? It's a keyring cache so please oblige!

TFTC!

The fifth of seven caches searched for today with Sumbloke, but only the fourth found. A muggle family set themselves up right in front of the hiding spot, requiring some creativity..... Beautiful park.

Nice park. Relatively easy find for my fourth of the day with SW2092. Darn muggles came along with their kid right after we got it and before it was replaced.

10-Nov-06
18th of 28 caches for the day. The park was almost empty, but no-one near GZ. GPS moved around a little and, after a check of the likely places, the cache was located. No swap was made. Thanks for the cache.

07-Nov-06
a little bit of stealth was needed here a few mugglers about. a bit of rain was a good change although I did get wet.
left keyring took koala.

I never knew Canberra had so many nice spots.

2nd hit for today. Had an issue getting this one with the geodog. Turns out you can't take dogs to this cache (photo uploaded). Might want to change the flag on it. Normally I wouldn't care, but there was a park ranger cruising around at the time. Anywho, funnily enough I have stood less than a foot away from this cache before I knew about geocaching. A few muggles slowed us down, but we got the job done. Nice hiding spot!

I visited this cache mainly because I wanted the TB and the Geocoin to give a lift to Europe. Well, the TB was already gone, but the Geocoin was still there. So, here we go (the coming Saturday).

The area is very nice and invites you to take some rest (after a long bike ride).

Thanks for the cache - fogg

Found this with the wife Princess Judy while on a weekend in Canberra with a few friends. I love the way Canberra has so many parks and bike tracks all over the place. Anyway after this it was off to the Zoo and then back to the Gong. Took the Cycling Kiwi travel bug (434018) back to sunny Shellharbour, Left nothing.
Thanks Greg....

07-Oct-06
Great day for a nice walk and a cache to boot. Dropped off Experience Minesota and took a combank keyring,

Cheers,

What a great spot would not have come here if not for the cache. Took a L J Hooker keyring and left a 60 years of care keyring.
Thanks ADAcache.

Wow plenty of Muggles around on the public holiday, maybe because it was such a beautiful day. This was five of seven for the day. Went a bit skew if at first but then got back on track. Made a quick sneat attack and got the cache.

Found with Fore! on a Sunday binge

A crowded spot, especially on a nice Sunday afternoon in holidays - some stealth required to grab the cache and make off to a private spot. A little disappointed with the contents (c'mon cachers -- the name makes it easy to decide what to leave!!!)

TNLN (see Fore!'s entry)

Shadow! and I were on the hunt today; and to prove how serious we were about it, we even left the geo-hound at home!

This was our 3/5 cache for the day and being Sunday on the long weekend, with beautiful weather and the middle of the day, stealth was the only way in and out! Wedding photo parties, picnics, walkers, rollerbladers, bikers... you name it - they were al out there in full force trying to keep an eye on us!

Took: KC Royals keyrings
Left: Commonwealth Bank southern stars farewell dinner keyring (women's cricket!) and LJ Hooker keyring - both still in their boxes.

Dear ADAcache,

We found your cache today at 12:10pm as the fourth of our final five Canberra caches. We let Mrs Rabbitto go ahead for the find but when she did not look well enough, 6 y.o. "A" jumped in for the grab. Thanks for the cache.

Kind Regards,

Wedding in process had to wait for a while.

I had an attempt at this one a couple of nights ago, but was thwarted by too many muggles and failing light. So I had another crack at it this afternoon and found it without too much trouble after wandering about a bit.

An easy find in the dark. There were no muggles here tonight, so I was able to do the caching business with no risk of interruption. The lights reflecting off the still water of the lake looked spectacular.

Found with McPhan, awesome location for a cache, not many muggles around, and the gardens were brilliant.

Really beautiful spot. Would imagine at certain times of the year/day it would be infested with muggles. Recommended even if not looking for a cache.

15-Aug-06
The views from this spot are tops. To sit down and write the log while looking over the lake made it hard to move on. Must bring the family back to this spot sometine in the future

Thanks ADcache for placing this one.

Fifth of twenty-three caches on my one day ACT assault. The cache was found at 10:45. This was a great park I loved the Chinese garden, the cherry blossom was flowering. I picked up the Driver Dan TB.

good spot.

16-Jul-06
Lovely location. Visiting on a cold, windy and wet day greatly assisted as there was no one around. This would be tricky to retrieve and replace if there were crowds. Fairly easy to find - went straight to it. Maybe we're getting the hang of this? T: caching keyring L: 40DOP keyring

11-Jul-06
At last a flat cache. I would say this cache has been muggled as not much in it and I assume no geocachers would leave a cigarette in the cache. Removed all the strange objects filled in the log and left glass Koala keyring.

03-Jul-06
Found on a nice cool early Canberra morning, seems to be the best time to find these more public caches. Quick check for no one around and grabbed the cache from its hidding spot, dropped off a rugby league key ring and took nothing. Another quick muggle check and back in with the cache.

Lunch time is definitely not the best time to be doing this. The park was crowded with noisy school kids. Some guy decided to stop on the nearby path and have a good old yap on his mobile. However finally everyone left and I enjoyed the place to myself. It was very pleasant down here among the "gifts" from the Japanese.

The weather can be so nice in Canberra with these sunny days. Shame about
the -7 and -6 some mornings during the week. I have never yeard of anyone
using credit cards to get ice off their windscreens but it works. Took
'The Enlightened One' TB and LN.
Thanks ADAcache

12-Jun-06
Found easily enough, luckily not very many muggles about but there was a picnic going on close by. Dropped off The Enlightened One TB, an appropriate place to continue his journey to Nirvana. The TB that should have been there, wasn't, so hope this one is safe until picked up legitimately.

I don't know why I always seem to make things harder than they need to be. My GPS took me straight to the spot, but for some reason (after a cursory look) I decided I had to go bush bashing... After 30 minutes or more I was seriously missing Biggles303 for this one - he is much more agile than me.
Great spot - TFTC ADAcache

No dramas with this one - esp. not with the cache owner in tow.

Cache was not hidden properly - hard to work out why. Replaced - all OK.

Meets the lake requirement of the "Hermits Quest"

Thanks Daz - a lovely spot.

There seems to have been a problem with this one. I will invetigate and replace it as soon as I can

Went for a lunch time walk from Russell. This was one of the last to get with-in walking distance of work so off I went. Got there saw obvious hiding spot looked under nothing not even a troll Sad looked in shrubbery near by nothing looked more and more sat down and read logs. Ahhh frogdude you may be right nothing to be found. Returned to work and spoke with Agima who had been speaking with Adacahce this morning who told agima that one of his caches had ben muggled. Maybe I should have spoken before I left but it was a nice walk.Smile

Came by to pick up the TB, but the cache didn't seem to be there and I found the TB's item description lying in the open on the ground. I think we've been muggledSad

18-May-05
Didn't prepare well for this one and found that we didn't have anything appropriate to swap, so we just left a TB and went on our way.

Great collection of rings. Nice park. Great place for a wedding. A few muggles but sneaky stealthing make it happen (it is much harder to be sneaky when you don't know where it is Razz). Wasn't prepared to get this one, so didn't have a good keyring. Took nothing, left nothing.

30-Apr-05
Half the Katricks and Ebenezer team members enjoyed this cache, hidden at a popular location for wedding ceremonies/photos. In fact I carried out bridesmaid duties at this very spot!

TNLN - sorry! forgot to bring the bag of cache goodies

30-Apr-05
The less energetic (and toddler encumbered) members of Ebenezer and Katricks did this cache while the others did Namadji Yank.
We successfully avoided the guys reserving space for a wedding party and found it nice and fast. Went on to chase the ducks. TNLN

2nd find of our caching day. Easy quick, walk up and find. Standard hiding location!!!

08-Apr-05
This area has been very nicely re-done since I last remember it ...

and since there was a high muggle concentration nearby when you hid this one, kudos to you ... you would have looked decidedly odd if you'd been caught in the act ...

The last time I was here I was hunting another cache. I was frustrated and went for a walk. While away I saw someone headding for the other cache location with head down and something in the hand. So I waited right here for the person to leave and I could resume my hunt. This time only a single jogger interrupted the search. Took TB. e

The trend continues. Walked past the obvious spot and then spent the next 10 minutes looking every where else. oh well at least I get a real good idea of what the local area is like.

And what a pretty place. Very fitting for our sister city Nara but I wonder if its meant to have water in it?

Left 2 key rings. A light one and a phone shaped one. Took the MSB keyring

Thanks adacache

Found it with out too much trouble, after taking the wrong way around the lake. Managed to avoid disturbing the wedding as well (popular spot for it apparently)

Took nothing, left nothing (as I had no keyrings).

First find for the day - a nice easy one, too. We haven't been here for ages. For some reason it reminded me of "The Last Ninja" on my old Commodore 64 Wink. TNLN - no keyrings handy! On to Tourist Tour...

02-Feb-05
Nice easy lunchtime cache with no-one around. Unusual for this area - maybe it was the weather. Joked about the people across the lake having the cache under surveillance - will watch logs with interest Wink

We were going to attempt this cache last night.. thank goodness we didn't as we would have been trampled in the stampede!!

Excellent location, Mrs S has been too this location many times with work christmas parties but has never been to the exact area of GZ.

A nice easy cache in a lovely spot! Did it at 8.20pm, which is a good time. Not too dark, but all the crowds are gone. I was surprised, but I have never been here before – a nice hidden little park. I was certainly very close, when there was another cache nearby a while ago, but I had never ventured this far in!
Took a not-for-climbing thingy, and left a boomerang keyring, and a travel bug like a keyring!
Thanks for introducing me to this lovely spot. In fact, I think I’ll come back on the weekend and have a BBQ. (And see if I can spy anyone else hunting this cache)…

31-Jan-05
Although I've logged it before The Hill 4, they beat me to the cache by ten minutes (8:45 pm). You have to be quick in these parts. The cache was easy to find and well placed. Dropped off the The Keeper of the Keys TB and attached a keyring to it - you'll see why if you collect it Smile.

31-Jan-05
Second to find, third to log. We must have almost passed Spindoc Bob on the way out. A great spot for a cache. Lots of people fishing but I didn't actually see anything caught. A nice cache to do in the cool evening. Took Travel bug PlatypusOz, left 'fish' keyring. Many thanks.

31-Jan-05
I suppose you are wondering why we are logging this cache from the Wig & Pen, that fine boutique bewery in Civic. WELL. We had a delightful dinner and only by chance noticed the email informing us that our new cache, Triangle's Apex, had been approved. BUT. On the same page was this brand new cache - untouched. WELL. What could geocachers do after a couple of glasses of good red? Call a cab of course. A cab? A cab to find a cache? May as well ... SO. Called a cab, found the cache, only to discover that we are the fourth to find! It'd have been a long walk home had it not been for the Wig & Pen.

Oh. And what a great place at night - and what a treasure trove of a cache! Many thanks ADAcache. T: 'fish'(read 'jaws')keyring L: Shovel brewery key ring.
