I'd ventured out to Fountain Gate with a friend this morning to do a bit of shopping and enjoy the day together despite the dreary conditions. We stopped in at Krispy Kreme for a doughnut, as is tradition whenever one visits Fountain Gate, and something I likely did on my last visit here.I have previously searched for this one but came up empty-handed with so many nooks and crannies in an area that feels exposed and hidden all at once!I had a better understanding of what I was looking for this time, having seen some pictures of heybuddha's mentioned prototypes online before! The most direct route of wading through the long grass to gz was opted for and absolutely saturated my shoes in the process!Focusing on the coordinates (which are spot on) allowed me to notice one out-of-the-way spot that I mustn't have adequately investigated on my last visit and, with the aid of my phone camera, the hide was spotted. It took a bit of a reach to extract it, although I was met with the log as my reward for doing so which was quickly signed and replaced so I could escape the drizzle! Thanks to The Coffee's for placing this one here all those years ago and continuing to maintain it! Smile

While waiting for a bus I decided I had time to look for this cache but my phone app wasn't working properly. Got to GZ but couldn't read anything about the cache. Luckily I had seen this sort of cache before so managed to find it without any details. Log signed now back to the bus stop to wait for my bus

Had to head over to Fountain Gate today to visit the Apple Store, so afterwards I headed over here to try and avenge a DNF.

I was here with my father today since my car was getting serviced and I needed a lift so we had two sets of eyes looking this time. Eventually I located the cache, how I missed it last time I have no idea. It was exactly what I was expecting, just blending in very well. My DNF is additionally embarrassing considering I’ve recently been machining some prototypes of similar containers haha. This one is very well done though so I’ll take notes.

Log signed and replaced as found.

Happy to report that the cache is in good condition and the log nice and dry.

Thankfully this was a quick find.
However the traffic pouring in and out of here and for a public holiday at 5 pm it is horrendous.
Going to take us forever to get out of Fountain Gate Shopping Centre.

Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".

So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.

**Thanks to The Coffee's for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

A bit dinner at the pancake parlour after tonight’s events, and a hint of last minute shopping. Checked if any caches nearby and woo la there is one near where we parked the car. A busy time at midnight as the shops are shutt

21-Nov-22
I've been eyeing this cache for a while, and today was the day I went to collect it. I was at GZ reasonably early, which helped with reduced traffic and my feelings of awkwardness.

It took a while to locate the cache, and I hadn't expected this to be so challenging. After about ten minutes, I saw where it was and made the retrieval. I love these types of caches. Thanks for keeping these older caches going for so long.

An after-work caching expedition with Geoturtle37.

Third time here. DNF redemption at last!

Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, The Coffee's

Last time I was here, I managed to boil the poor geovehicle. Today, however, all went well and the cache was quickly located. Thank you for placing this cache for us to find and maintaining it for so long.

12-Sep-22
I needed to drive out this way to pick up a purchase that a shop at Fountain Gate only had in stock, they wouldn't do a store to store transfer, annoying. Wow this area is a little busy so I had to be a little discreet and not bring too much attention to myself. After looking for a few minutes I thought of taking a break and the lure of donuts nearby was tempting. I decided to resist and kept looking, Nothing obvious jumped out at me so I had to kick my brain into gear and think about the D rating here and how the cache may have been placed. And then I saw it. Doh, how did I miss that the first 5 times I looked. Nice. I made sure to put it back exactly as I found it. It's in a great spot.

Thank you for the cache here Mr.Coffee and the Coffee Clan

07-Sep-22
Used the hint and still couldn't find anything. Finally, after almost giving up, we spotted something that didn't need to be there. Thanks for this cool hide Coffee Clan!

27-Jul-22
After a nice dumplings lunch with RoamingHowie we made our way down to this cache.

It is quite a busy spot. You call that big, okay I agree and call it big too!

Found this cache fairly quickly and pondered if time to find some more.

Thanks MrCoffee team - we are ready to find some more caches

27-Jul-22
What a miserable day to be outside… bring on spring! I caught up with Kristysadventures for an opportune stroll along this trail.

Big signs indeed. A short search trying to be as inconspicuous as possible soon revealed the cache. That spattering of rain seems to be coming back again!

Thanks The Coffee's for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Hehehe such a sneaky little nut to crack but I did it whilst trying to look like a lost duck on a phone call.
I did have some encouragement from a passing car which I can only presume are fellow hunters.

Wow very camo! We got caught up on a similar looking container that wasn’t the right one. Was a bit worried about muggles because it’s outside Westfield but there wasn’t many.

I visited 3 TB

11-Jan-22
This was a bit of a challenging find whilst I was out and about with PrezDough grabbing a few caches today.
We originally settled on a sort of container, however it clearly wasn’t what we were chasing.
Soon enough another container revealed itself and then it was time to sign the log.
The cache, container and log are in excellent condition.
I visited 5 TB.

17-Dec-21
After a nanna nap following a busy day at work I took the geohounds for a walk and returned home to realise that the day was escaping me quite rapidly. I still needed to get dinner and buy a present for a friend's birthday... oh and get a cache of the day!

I always feel sorry for people who's birthdays are near Christmas, so I love to make a fuss of them and ensure they feel special and valued despite it being such a hectic time of year. I found a perfect gift, scoffed down an enchilada for dinner and was about to head home when I realised I had one more thing on my list!

This was the closest cache, so under the cover of darkness I headed towards GZ. Considering the hoards of people around in the Christmas shopping chaos I was grateful that everyone was so distracted by getting a carpark to notice me.

After a couple of laps of these very big signs I narrowed down the area and then someone walked past giving me the "what on earth are you doing?" look so I quickly pretended to be on my phone, that always works haha! The logbook was soon in hand, signed and replaced.

Thanks for the cache Coffee Clan!

We climbed the whole sign and couldn’t find it. Going to try again in the daylight though

16-Mar-20
no luck

29-Feb-20
Nope. Can't find it anywhere. Was here with someone who has found it before and she couldn't find it either. Please can you come and check this one and maybe adjust the hint. PS Ray's isn't Ray's anymore either, it's macpac. Thx in advance. Hope to try again someday.

01-Feb-20
Came back to give this one another go after a DNF about a year ago. A bit evil, this one. I think the very specific hint may be contributing to the DNFs here. The first 3 words of the hint are not correct. Other than that, in good condition.

30-Jan-20
Abit late but still gave a fair amount of time to look for. Idk if gone or I'm just blind

22-Jan-20
The plan had been to jump on my bike and grab a few caches around the Narre Warren area however the extremely windy weather scuppered those plans. Instead I thought that I would just drive and walk around the area.

For the second time in two days I have been bested by one of these structures...next time...

22-Jan-20
I spent a bit of time looking and was unable to locate this one

Find #10845

I have been wanting to cross this one off the list for quite some time. I am gradually working my way through the first 500 active caches in Victoria. This is one of them. I had attempted this some time ago when I started caching with no luck. Today happily I managed to put a smiley to it. Only 200 on the list to do now WinkSurprisedRazzBig GrinCool

Many thanks to The Coffee's for the cache. TNLN.

Nope, no luck here today despite the generous hint. Will keep an eye out and try again....

Despite my better judgement, I got Very close to the area indicated by the Very specific hint. I'm as confident as I can be that this one is gone.

13-Jan-19
After having found one cache in Victoria's first 500 I thought I'd continue down the hill and find another! Quick find once on site although the container could do with replacement in the near future. It is totally cracked.

12-Jan-19
Out for a night on the town with Ms Smokey-Bear, what better way to have a night out than trying some caching in the suburbs. Makes a change from the bush we normally night cache in.
After a few moments, we had this in out hands and log signed. TFTC.

10-Jan-19
Lovely hide. Not too tricky but an awkward spot. J and daddy strike again

08-Jan-19
I visited the cache yesterday and came across a problem. i replaced the cache container in July and as of yesterday there was no find logged in the log sheet. I need to assess this as there maybe a duplicate log book and sheet somewhere on the structure.
The cache and log sheet are still in pristine condition and yet to be signed, I did take a new photo of the log sheet and cache container.

This geocacher reported that the container is damaged.

02-Jan-19
With the shops nearly closed for the day, we thought this would be a good time to look for this cache. With the coast as clear as it will ever be in this area, we quickly spotted the cache, signed the log, and we were out of there.

Thanks Mr Coffee and the Coffee Clan. Nice to finally turn this one into a smilie.

29-Dec-18
Found quickly by Muggle-L - which is an indicator of how easy this is. SirJ-Oz and AmethystPig 1 step behind

29-Dec-18
Found at 1625 after walking the Hallam Bypass trail with SirJ-Oz and Muggle-L. We'd just finished Pinkpiggy7's series of caches along the trail (well, SirJ had one to go but that was en route to the car and Muggle-L and I had found it at the start of the run, so short of seismic activity or some sort of muggle-event horizon he pretty well had that one in the bag), and decided to grab a couple of bonus caches to round off the day.

This one was a quick find for Muggle-L, who spotted it on approach.

Thanks for the cache Mr.Coffee and the Coffee Clan - Muggle-L mentioned the desire to have coffee shortly after finding this cache, so I suspect something subliminal / liminal / superliminal was going on there...

29-Dec-18
Find #4075. Found @ 16:28 with AmethystPig and Muggle-L

My self-appointed challenge for the year is to get 1000 finds for the year. To finish that challenge off, Muggle-L and AmethystPig came with me to find the few remaining caches... and a couple more. 1002 for the year.

Since this was almost on our route, we diverted past to make the find. Muggle-L spotted the hide on approach.

Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache The Coffee's

Nice sunny arvo with the sweet smell of donuts in the air i headed towards gz. My gps gave me a few locations but i quickly spotted the cache. Surprisingly i was signing the old log in a broken cache. What happened to the new one? #foundit 417
Thanks kindly

21-Aug-18
WAS SO MUCH FUN, an interesting place to hide it Smile

02-Aug-18
This was a quick find on the way home which was good as was a bit worried about the location and peak hour traffic. But after seeing recent maintenance I was confident of locating it and was able to locate it immediately. Once log was signed and returned made a mad dash across the road back to the car and on to the next one. Thanks for the cache

10-Jul-18
Cache all good to go with new container and log sheet. I will update the cache page to read micro sized unknown type container.

12-Jan-18
Quick find thanks to the hint. Three muggles went shopping so I took a chance to grab this cache. TFTC!

12-Jan-18
The log book is drenched and the cache itself is broken. Sorry I couldn't fix it.

19-Dec-17
Wow. Sometimes, life gives you a "big sign" with a "big hint". And you just gotta take it. And then go treat yourself a well deserved coffee break. TFTC Coffees.

A quick find after reading the hint. Boo

30-Sep-17
While some of the family went shoe shopping at Fountain Gate the rest of the family went caching around the shopping centre.
This was a nice easy find when looking from the right angle. Think it took longer to get across the road.
The container is broken however, the log file is still fine.
Thanks for the cache Mr.Coffee and the Coffee Clan

I thought this cache would be easier to get at night time, but I underestimated the P plate enthusiasm for the area. After waiting for the coast to be clear, I made a quick find thanks to the hint. TFTC The Coffee's

19-Sep-17
Got here early to try and beat the day's rush of shoppers but still had to watch for cars making my way to GZ. Not where I thought it would be so after a hunt for some time and reading previous logs, got an ah-ha moment and then spotted it. And much like previous cachers, height is not on my side. So after some strategic leaping (aka dumb luck!) I knocked the sucker down and signed the log. Hopefully the other caches round the SC aren't this difficult! Tftc
