Nice walk around today. Beautiful location thanks for bringing us here. Found after a brief search TFTC
Awesome little spot. Nice quick find for us today. We even saw some nearby seals. Tftc .
We obviously didnt read the memo about not rock hopping on the green slimy/slippery boulders.Nearly broke an ankle doing this, and then a serious bushbash up to GZ.Cave climbed and performed a few tricks before finally making the find.Ive seen a few of these cache containers succumb to the elements but this one survives rather nicely. Thanks for the placement charl, we walked past the derelict cottage on our way out using the narrow trail.
#15127 10:35Out caching with Martin Cousins. We clambered along the rocks on sea level, avoiding the green slippery bits. It seem to take forever. Then it was up a slippery slope to get close to the cache. Only once the cache was found we discovered a easy trail that led us back to our starting point.TFTC barefootjeff
Don't understand. Nothing suitable to turn over, looked everywhere between the two paths
Took a while to spot the track in, but then it was obvious with the rock steps. Track was in really good condition with minimal overgrowth. Cache was found at a great spot. TFTC
Don't understand how others have found this one...The marker is in a fairly dangerous place so I'm sure not where there cache actually is, and I searched all other logical places around with no luck.
We wandered along a tiny trail and found this one very quickly! Took a bit to get over a fallen tree! Here with kiwisteve2 and Bdp TfTC
Started the fisherman's trail when the sun was already set and got back to the beach when it was already dark. It was worth it! Loved the trail, loved the cache. Thank you!
Found It!
Walked in here with a few others after today's event. A nice place to explore and a great spot for a cache! Always great to find such an old cache with the original logbook to.

Not my usual modus operandi, but at some events I occasionally team up with others and head out for a find or two. Today I did just that, and a team of us -- five in all -- made our way along the beach and up onto the Fisherman's Trail (thus marked on a Google map). We found our way to GZ quite quickly, but the cache was a bit elusive at first. We split up and checked various spots until GeoIan let us know he'd made the find. Nice ammo case, too.
Lovely rock faces here, with some traditional climbing routes, based on the hardware in the rock wall. Also, interesting caves and overhangs, begging to be explored a bit more. And then there was some police tape between two trees ... rather odd, that! I was wondering what might have been the reason for that over here; a previous cacher indicated it might have been from when a body was found in the area. One wonders whether a geocacher made that find, too. Eeeekk!

After the nearby community event a group of us came down to look for this cache, My phone battery had died and I had forgotten the charger in the car 2kms away so I was pretty much just following everyone else to this cache, which was found by GeoIan after a bit of searching. Thanks for the cache tnln replaced as found sl
With 5000 cache finds now it’s on the next 5000.
So after holding my Community Celebration Event, which has been a long time coming, and reaching the magical 5000 finds I teamed up with 4 other cachers, Stefanoodle, Laighside Legends, Mighty Minions and GeoIan and we made the trek around to this cache.
I have been in this area before but that time I was unable to get round to GZ.
Today however, success!
What an interesting spot, beautiful views west and over the water and what a great location with those sandstone rock faces and the ‘whirlpool’ cave near GZ.
Also plenty of native species, I even brought one home with me – a tick, which I caught running on my hand.

Found on our way to the CCE at the lighthouse. I think we took the tougher option as we scrambled over slippery rocks. I got wet feet and a damp backside after one slip, even though the tide was out. Then it was a slippery crawl up to GZ where the cache was found quickly once there. We then followed the easier track back to the beach and onto the event. I wish we had used that option on the way in. The views were amazing. It was worth the effort. Have a FP. TFTC
The last cache for the day. What a day. Mighty Minions and I grabbed some early caches, and then did some Bush Care (CITO) out at Blacktown. Then headed to here, and after finding a park a couple of K's away, just got to a CC event just as it was finishing. Grabbed the high caches whilst up there, and this was the last in the area. Another great spot, along a track which was a little difficult to find the start of. There were 5 of us in total, so once at gz, everyone scattered after marvelling at the cave. I followed the arrow, 6M it said, and after a skirmish with a little bush, i found some likley spots. On the second try, Found It!. The cry went up. Nice container to top it all off. Thanks for keeping this oldie alive. gets a fav from me.
Glad to find this. No dead bodies, just a little bit of police tape left. Walked to GZ around the waterline, and came back on the track. Great to find a big box, the ammo is dry and cache is well hidden. OCW Brewmaker. TFTC barefootjeff
I had intended to grab this one first but had overlooked some (big) details so I had to grab it after I had done the headland loop. I may have been cutting it fine with the tide coming in on the way up and definitely got wet feet on the way out. I really enjoyed this cache and the location but the leftover pieces of police tape (pretty fresh) at GZ was a bit offputting. I made a straight foward find and then with the police tape in mind I made a pretty fast exit out of there. I guess the cops don't practice CITO. Looked up a google search and it seems a guy was located deceased in this area back in April so I'm wondering if this was the spot.
Ahhh the oddities you find when geocaching.
Giving a FP for the cache type, hidden path and remote spot. TFTC

All tracks and trails within Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, including Barrenjoey headland, are now closed indefinitely due to the ongoing severe weather.
Over doing a post-lockdown cache check now that travel to the southern side of Broken Bay is allowed. All good.
Wow, what a cache. Don’t think we would have found it without the trailhead waypoint. Surprisingly saw some people on the path and wondered whether they might be geocachers. Great path with superb views along the way. Coordinates very accurate so found in no time without hint. Great big container containing some swag. Thanks to the CO’s for placing this cache and maintaining it.
On the way back from the cache crossed paths with a massive green snake. Wonder if it was poisonous?
It appears likely that some of the recent finds on the nearby Stewart's Lights cache have been from outside the Northern Beaches LGA so to reduce the temptation of further lockdown transgressions, particularly over the long weekend, I'm reluctantly disabling this cache for now. Until the 11th, please stay home and stay safe.
Hi, I found it but I am sorry, not sure when was it..it was long time ago with kids on walk. We saw a dolphin nearby. TFTC
Wet but otherwise pleasant afternoon. Found the trail head ok then chased along the narrow tracks to GZ. Would be some nice climbing here. Quick find and signed and replaced as the rain started.
All good, nice spot!
All good, nice spot!
Barrenjoey headland has reopened with the lifting of the Northern Beaches lock-down.
I did a routine check this morning and all is well. The track to GZ is quite clear if you start from the beach at the Trailhead waypoint. Also note that there's no need to use the damaged ladder, instead continue along the lower track until almost level with GZ where there's a much easier track up to the right level in front of the cave. Cache on!
Track really overgrown and tricky to find. Managed to get just past the old huts and had to turn around.
Nice quiet walk up to the cache. Bit of a search for us to find but can see how others found it easy. Nearby rock climbers. Ammo box #2. Thanks!
A very late log, but logging my find back in 2020 on a similar day walk up the lighthouse. My visit today (2/MAR/2024) brought back memories of our last visit, and a quick check of akkatracker's logs reminded me of the events on the day.It was an enjoyable bush bash to the GZ.TFTC.
Interesting situation here where OSM doesn't have this track, but Google does.... and very interesting to compare how quiet it is here vs the Smugglers Track which was flooded with people.
With 20 mins left on our (rather expensive) parking, patwazhear and myself decided to have a crack at one more cache.
Made our way past some rockclimbers, but luckily GZ was relatively muggle free and the cache was found nice.
Pretty good knick for 15 years, was great to see some of the older logs!
Thanks for keeping it going - took TB

Wow! What a beautiful spot to get to! And a beautiful ammo can as my reward.
Saw some rock climbers who asked if I was geocaching and said they wouldn't tell me where it was!
One of the people in my group snapped one of the rungs on the ladder on our way in

Far fewer muggles on this side of the heads! Watched some rock climbers, and then took a few minutes to find the cache (note if you’re doing any rock climbing you’re in the wrong place!)
The NPWS website is no longer showing Barrenjoey Headland as closed, so I'm re-enabling this.
Barrenjoey headland remains closed to visitors in spite of today's easing of restrictions. Please do not attempt this cache.
Great walk up the track, climbing a ladder to find this easy hidden cache under the rock.
Found this cache together with Hotrox3. A great adventure for the day!

The headland has been reopened and, with the milder weather forecast for the remainder of the week, is likely to remain so for a while.
Barrenjoey headland is currently closed due to the fire conditions. Please don't attempt this cache until this area is re-opened.
After expending much energy struggling up to the lighthouse, I was in two minds about attempting this one. However, I'm glad I did, it's a pleasant spot.
Thanks for keeping this one going barefootjeff.

A routine visit today, all is well with the cache. It looks like the old fishermen have been out with their brush-cutters (or do they use swordfish) as the track has been mostly cleared of undergrowth since my last visit.
After checking on the cache, I continued a short way along the track where I came upon the old (or perhaps not so old) fisherman.

Our daughter Julia, the 'ju' from rejuch, visits Australia. I sent her some caches as GE-picture, because she told me, the GPS on her smartphone didn't work. OK, so prepared she went to wonderful Palm Beach and found that cache. Really! Well done, daughter!

A post-school-holidays check, all is well although the track is becoming increasingly overgrown. Perhaps all the old fishermen who used it have become too old for fishing.
**hi barefootjeff**
*it`s a good walk from the lighthouse , on gc koords we had a beautifull spot of this area*

A little trip with our english school. While the others walked to the light tower I found this little beauty. GREAT VIEW
Great walk in between rain showers. Didn't get wet. Found the track all the way to Gz. What a nice walk. Great views. Nice to find an ammo box.
Thanks to the fishermans track, MrsMalkovich and I made our way to GZ after a false start along the shoreline. Once we were on the right track (which is awesome and offers amazing views), we got within a few metres of indicated GZ. Lots of spaces to hide a regular sized cache, so we started searching. Eventually after 10-15 minutes of searching (and many spikey plants to the legs and arms), I finally spotted the hide and completed signing duties. I definitely earned that T3, maybe more than that with some of the spots I climbed to. The views across the water to Patonga and Umina (past Lion Island) are great from this altitude.... and no tourists to contend with. Thanks for a great walk, barefootjeff, and TFTC!
Silly me forgot to check the cache contents against the trackable inventory when doing my post-adoption visit last week. I can sadly confirm that there are currently no trackables in the cache and have marked them all missing.
Went for a walk in the park today and luckily it was low tide, so off we went to find the cache. Nice little hidden path, thanks for the mini adventure! We picked up a fair bit of rubbish and bottles on the way back (photo).
There were NO trackables in the cache, the owners should be informed...
TFTC!

Found it after some serious bush bashing. Tried to go straight across from lighthouse - not recommended. TFTC
Yes! Found with dr. Strange! What a nice path!!! And view! And love those cache boxes! Grabbed the 2 tb’s , left one behind. Thanks!
Took a while because we followed the wrong path - so glad we found the right one - head up to avoid the Bush bashing!

I had a great day caching with my family and geomates. This was the first target for the day. A nice walk in and we soon arrived at GZ. Our youngest member, TJ_Awsome made the discovery of the excellent cache container. Sadly, you don't see too many of these types of containers nowadays. The team swapped some trackables in and out before we decided to take the higher route out. Passed a uni club of rock climbers then came to a somewhat hairy point to get across. I made it but at my age, I did feel a bit uneasy about it. Luckily, no injuries. A great spot for a cache Tyreless. Well done.

Forgot to add, worthy of a favourite point for the walk in, the location and the container.
Great day out caching with family and friends. Nice hike through the bush although took the wrong way out before finding the easier track aagain. Took TB.

Out on a day of Caching with TJ_Awsome, Calypso62, Smurfyguy.
It was very windy today. Kept losing our hats.
I first found this one on 15/03/2010 so I was along for the walk and the adventure with the others who had not found it.
I dropped of some TB's and I picked 1 up.
The number of TB at the cache do not match what is there.

We've taken a trip towards Palm beach and whale beach today.
We've decided to do the beautiful walk up the Lighthouse and we've went for a dip in the ocean afterwards to cool down
Thanks for the cache

Hopefully there soon - mistakenly logged this as a find in place of Collaroy. TBs down there.
Well we had great fun scrabbling around looking for this! We missed the other entrance so climbed along the rocks. Then realised it was inland so scrambled up the bank and found the path. Once at GZ we searched around and checked previous photo logs and Phil soon had his hands on the cache. It was perfectly preserved with great swappables and and a TB inside. Thanks for placing !
