Reasonably quick to find this one when I took into consideration the inadequate accuracy of my phone GPS. TFTC
Didnt take too long to find this one. Impressive that this has been here since 2005.
Found it, but the 2 logs inside are absolutely saturated!, have the photo as proof.
Simple find, but the log is in no writing condition. See eimajesor's photo log below. Cheers
We had a dnf here in 2015!! Back out this way today and was a quick find. Paper is mush so not able to sign. Thank you Zukin & Lany for placing this cache.Log signed as B&PFind number 5019
Out to Kairakau beach for a couple days out with my friends. GZ has probably changed lots since publish date because we had to go quite deep to get the cache. Lots of campers around.I wrote in the log and placed the cache carefully back as found. TFTC. Thanks Zukin & Lany for this Traditional cache! It's December, and to help me achieve one of my Geocaching goals I need to log 300+ caches this month, which means an average of ten a day. I started off well, but had a glitch in the middle which has left me behind on my target. However, I left home a couple of days ago and cached my way up through the Wairarapa to Napier (here for a concert tonight). After two very successful days, I started today with only ten caches left to find to meet my goal. Find number 292 for December. The log paper here was very wet. --- Thanks to Zukin & Lany for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues. Great wee cache, although was not able to fill in log due to it being waterlogged. Fantastic place. TFTC!
Last visit here was in 2014 and couldn’t locate it. Pleased to collect this smiley today. The hint is right, it did require searching around several of the trees here. TFTC Zukin & Lany. Afterwards we followed Rubbishparty's example and climbed up the track to the hill top behind the beach. Took about 15 minutes to scramble up to enjoy a great view.
Staying in Hasting this month for work. Decided to explore this coastal trail which I’ve never visited before. This beach was wonderful but incredibly busy. Got to GZ to find a caravan park with 10ft of the cache. No way could I be subtle as it involved diving into the underground just by their front door. As they arrived I explained geocaching and once they realised I wasn’t robbing their caravan they were fine. Wanted to know if and what I found so I showed them. I was impressed with the backdrop of hills and happy to find that you could walk up them. Great views from the top of GZ. Hot and sweaty when I got down so then had to have a swim. Happy to give a favourite for the whole experience. Thanks.
On my way to Napier for a dahlia show tomorrow, made a detour from Waipukurau down to Southern Hawkes Bay coast. Thanks Zukin & Lany for the cache.
Been circling this one for a while.. too many muggles! Placement is beside clue given. Lovely little item inside left by previous cacher... I left it for the next finder. Lovely beach... tftc
One of eight caches located today on day 8 of our motorhome summer holiday to Hawkes Bay. Our one and only at Kairakau Beach where we’re staying the night. This took a bit of searching. Wasn’t at the obvious hint items! This beach setting is superb – just a pity there aren’t more caches in the area! I ended up having to bike the 14-15kms (round trip) to Mangakuri Beach to pick up the two there. #3698. TFTC.
With my girlfriend working several days this week and my son at his mothers it seemed a great time to throw the dog in the camper and go exploring. We arrived here last night and was relieved to find it not too busy. The plan today was for a long walk up the beach, but with it being high tide that became out of the question. Plan B then - grab this cache first (as it was about 30m from our parking spot) then go get more and carry on north-ish. TFTC here. A truly gorgeous spot.
On a trip heading south. Stunning place to camp. Parked up overnight and was great to get this. Replaced mushy log with write in rain paper. A Fp for location. Cheers
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

When we saw the location thought this might be tricky but clue & Garmin led us straight to it-great hide -tftc
The co-ords and hint led us straight to the cache. Really nice place to visit. Thanks
Not the warmest of days nor the sunniest, but definitely a lovely location. A few campervans nearby but no-one about that we could see. Quick easy find, log quite damp but we managed to leave our mark. ThanksFTC and for bringing us to this spot.
We set out some days ago on a glorious late summer day for a few days holiday - heading first for Taupo and then onto Napier and back home. We hope to fit in a leisurely amount of geocaching, and as we’ll stay with muggle family some of the time we’ll be focused on them rather than caching.
Day 5 and after a rainy night we have another good fine caching day. Mrs G’s brother took us out to Kairakau Beach so we managed a little caching along the way.
It was interesting for Mrs G to come to this beach again, her last visit having been about 57 years ago. She was pleased the road in is now sealed, but remembered it as an attractive beach which today’s visit verified. It is in an impressive setting, with the great bluffs behind too. Actually there seemed to be a number of good opportunities for EarthCaches on the way out, such as a huge earth flow, and the Silver Ridge, as well as the escarpment here. It’s surprising there are no EarthCaches in the area.
The GPS seemed a bit unsettled here but it was doing its best, and eventually Mr G succeeded in finding the cache. We had got focused on the wrong hint object initially. However, the cache is not a small green thing, as per the cache description but a micro (film canister) coloured grey. The log inside is so sodden that it is difficult to write on and is disintegrating.
It needs an owner check please. TFTC

One week off during school holiday time, combined with some cheap flights made a great adventure in the HB and Gisborne area, popping into BoP a couple of times also. I had great fun and I am grateful to all CO's who placed the caches for others' entertainment!!
I thought I might as well come for a nice long drive! Last day to find a few more! It was not the easiest to locate. TFTC!!

We set off on our geocaching weekend around 9am after Mr watcache finished work and stopped by here on our way towards Napier it was a quick find here today. What a nice area for a cache a bit wet windy here but that didn't stop us from grabbing our coats to get this cache. Thank you for placing a cache here and showing us another area we hadn't seen or visited before. The views were amazing . we signed the log. placed the cache back where we found it. 8 degrees now a bit chilly here. Now quickly into the warm car again and on the road to the next cache TFTC getting dark now
Thanks to jjinz for replacing the cache. I found it! Quick find. Visiting the Lee family at Kairakau Beach, last here 20 years ago. Awesome beach. The weekend has been wet, but we have still had great fun. Hello from Juneau, Alaska. #3819
Fav point cause this is almost 7,300 miles from home!

I hope this is OK, but I am 100% sure this GC has gone walkabout. I have therefore replaced in the exact location per the hint.

I am from Alaska and will be visiting Kairakau Beach during the middle of February. It would be awesome to find this cache. If ok with the cache owner, I could bring along a replacement container.
While spending the weekend at a beach house here we decided to have a poke around for this cache. No luck at all 2 days in a row.
No luck for us today. We searched the area where the hint suggested but found nothing. Nice beach though.
On a day out to the beach with Amyjae and 4 kids. A shame we didnt find this one as kids were looking forward to some trades after all the micros we had done in the morning. Had a pretty good hunt, but no joy.
Mr E biked from Waipawa to Kairakau Beach and camped there. He looked for this one but had no success. Hope this long standing cache hasn't gone AWOL.
Pat was there, and he made a very useful "desk" on which to fill in log. Cache dry, all OK. Thank you.
Found on an early morning stroll along the beach. What a wonderful place. TFTC
A stunning locaton on a beautiful day. I took a while reading some of these historic logs from almost 10 years ago now. Then had a stroll along this wonderful beach. Such a lovely spot and had the place almost to myself.
A quick easy find, despite campers nearby, after venturing into the trees. The logbook was very damp and mouldy, but usable. TFTC
A good cache find - special to TuisReturn who found one of their own trackables sitting in the container. SL TFTC
On a road trip collecting caches in the area, some remote beaches I have never visited & surprised to pick up my tb tftc
#3052. Lovely hills and the river gorge offered magnificent views. Pretty busy beach today, but GZ was relatively quiet.

Decided to grab this one while in the area, chasing FTF's. A very busy little camping area. Had to be wary of nearby muggles.
Left a pet rock - an orca.

Nice easy find at a fairly quiet end of a busy beach. Log book very damp and probably needs replacing. TNLN.
TFTC... It took us a bit of a good look around to find this one... weather may have been causing us some grief, very windy. Took cache back to beach house due to muggles inconveniently hanging about, this gave us a chance to dry the log book out. Left a few bits of treasure for the cache and retrieved a shell keyring. We had a lovely four day stay in Kairakau... amazing to see the scars left by the storm! The beach isnt quite so sandy anymore. TFTC
Wow, the floods have done a lot of damage to the area, although the end of the beach where the cache is seems completely untouched. Can't say the same for the roads, river or the rest of the beach. An easy find here.
TFTC.

just a note to say this cache is still there after all the floods and landslips in the past, the beach has been completely changed with all the flooding photo's to come later.
Arrived here about 5pm. The boys were immediately taken with the place and wanted to stay. Found the cache and took "Ben, the one handed ranger" TB. TFTC.
found it, dropped off "Ben, the one handed ranger" that we collected from Cold duck cache.
Great location. Camped the night in car and then went hunting the next morning, lots of muggles around, but others were cachehunters too!
First time to this beach and i sure it now won't be the last - what a wonderful spot. TFTC
Worked out the clue and looked for a likely one when we arrived on site.As there was only one it was a quick find.Thanks.
Found it nice and easily. Unfortunately everythign was soaking so we took it for a drive around and tried to dry it all out. The notebook was just aout stuffed but was a little better after the drive. Replaced it and put it all inside a bag so maybe it wa=on't be quite so wet next time. TFTC
Easy find, will come back next summer for the day when it's warmer, left a spider. TFTC.
Arrived at this spot, we knew it was a beach, but haven’t seen a beach quite like it, what a GEM of a place, definitely worth visiting, we even took the scenic route, the dirt road, managed to get a few photos, also talked to the local ranger about the beaches and was pleasantly surprised, managed to retrieve cache after having to wait for muggles to leave, sent Mrs Yeetrees in while I took photos, the logbook was wet, we tried to dry it out but it will definitely need maintenance, COOL, TFT spot, took Blue Penguin GC TFTC LNSL (1541)
Had to stop at Patangata pub for a drink on the trip here
Took the travel bug in for a drink before leaving at the beach
lovely day
fun had by all

Otherwise the beach is really nice! Found with a German friend Anne.

Found the cache without a problem. By coming at it via the back way onlookers do not see you. A great beach on a beautiful autumn's day. Thanks.
Great beach & once again only a few meters from where we stayed overnight, And a good find.
Nice beach, sparsely populated, and would have stayed for a swim but CzechKiwi and I opted to wait to waimarama beach. cheers

Last for the day on our return trip from a great week long holiday at a neighbouring beach
We have always liked this beach. It has it all and a great place to visit. Found it after a bit of a search.
Third and last cache today. Lovely spot for lunch, good to see another place where "free-camping" is still allowed perhaps we'll be back some day to partake. Easy find, had to find a different route in due to muggles. NINO, TFTC, #643
There was a couple of muggles parked close by the GZ so I had to use the back door. Those are impressive cliffs above you.
Cheers for the cache.

Excellent day for finding a cache.
Hot, Sunny with just a little breeze.
Sea was looking very inviting, Very clear No real swell and only small breakers. Shoulda brought by diving gear as it was low tide an I know where to find some very nice Paua not far from here. Lots of fishing boats out too.
+ Hawkes Bay Rugby Key Ring
- Nothing
Thanks for the cache

A lovely spot indeed, especially enjoyed the view of the river gorge (spied on leaving the village).
Cache is slightly damp, so removed the oversized swag item and it closed properly.

This was our 500 th cache so this was a momentous occassion.
On a bit of a round trip from Havelock North via Waipawa and back around the coast.
The surf looked a bit wild this afternoon and it was getting late.

Found as one of a series of caches visited during a very enjoyable multi-day Hawkes Bay cachexpedition. Team cacher Sweet P in on the action too! Holiday time at the beach saw a host of diverse muggles about, but stealth won over on the day and we slipped in for a sneaky find. All in order with this cache

A few camper vans were parked next to GZ, but their occupants were busy preparing evening meals to notice. Cache contents a bit damp. Admired great sunset before heading off.

Bought the kids out to the beach after placing new geocache up the road back at Elsthorpe. This is such a terrific beach. Could not come out here without checking the cache. It is fine other than a bit wet. Thnks Carla
Stopped here with XenaCommanderon the way home after attending the Waipawa MC Cold Duck rally.
One word describes the beauty of this place... WOW.
The cache was soaked as the lid does not fit snugly. Dried it out as best we could. We removed an incendiary.... yeah ok we lit it.... all smoke and no bang.
Hope to return someday with more time water toys and camping gear.
Thanks for bringing us here

TK and I left the Cold Duck Rally and decided to hunt this cache before heading back to Auckland.. Having lived in Waipawa many years ago I "May" have been here before but cant remember... And I am so glad I came this time.. It is beautiful here..
Parked Xena nearby and XC honed in on likely spot.. and soon had it in hand.
The container was wet inside.. we dried it out in the hot hawkes bay sun.. we found an explosive device in the cache so took it out and lit it.!!! it was a fizzer with lots of smoke but didn't belong in a cache! Fun though I didn't get camera out in time!!
We promise we will be back to camp here.
TK Signed the log and we left calling cards.
