this cahe is being tacken away because the site is being developed by the council

11-Nov-08
Hey pyro2355,
I tried this today,It does look like some development is starting.
If you want to retreive your cache there is a gate from the car park at the shops. It is 240m away from there. There was some workmen there today so after hours might be the best time.

02-Nov-08
Drove past this one today and found that the whole area is fenced off and It looks like they are going to start to build on the area Sad

04-Oct-08
Was surprised to find this one quickly. I spent three minutes walking from the carpark, a minute putting on my gloves in anticipation of being scratched, and then found it in 15 seconds.

Like Rainbow Spirit, I was serenaded by a trumpet player too, who is quite good.

28-Aug-08
Armed with gum boots, long pants, gardening gloves, walked around the berry bush. GZ not acurately enough. Could not find it.

05-Aug-08
A prickly situation, this one. Even got serenaded by a trumpeter, who was close to the cache, practicing away from complaining neighbours I suppose, not that he was that bad, in fact, he was quite good! TNLN TFTC SL, which was a bit damp]

22-Jul-08
Lucky for me I had my jeans and my motorbike jacket when I went and found this one. I was riding my bike for a bit of a cache. I didn't bother to take my bike jacket off. Absolutely hated the berry bush. I have never liked that stuff anyway. It is worse than lantana. Found it easily enough. I would definitely suggest you find this one in winter when the bush doesn't have many leaves.

20-Jul-08
Spotted it straight away this visit but couldn't get to it even with gardening gloves due to short sleeves. Realised it was made of metal and I had something in the car that would help, so managed to extract it safely. TNLNSL. Thanks pyro2355.

19-Jul-08
quick and easy found. thanks pyro2355

12-Jul-08
Not only long pants, but also long sleeves and work gloves are recommended!
The log book was still a bit wet.
Took a shot glass, left a red octopus.

If you ever want to try this Cache I can recommend winter as there are no leaves on the bush. I gingerly picked my way through the thorns in shorts and had the cache in hand quickly. I had more problems putting it back, and only lost a little blood in the process.

The location of this one didn't provide for a whole lot of fun. I wore long pants, but should have had a full suit of plate mail armour on instead.
The cache is still there but is full of water. The log book was dry and safe in its zip lock bag.
Did the cache stuff then moved along.

03-Jul-08
Dropped in on the way to Bella Vista on a bright and sunny morning. I played for a while in the unfriendly vegetation before deciding to call it quits. Is this cache still here, or has the spiky stuff really grown that much?
best wishes,
Wal

27-Jun-08
Found and logged a wet cache on our way to westmead.
JABs.

24-Mar-08
Tried with jackpine54840 and gregdeathklok (new member). Hugely overgrown - jackpine took it out on the bushes.

03-Feb-08
I didnt even try looking for this one, after the recent rain, the blackberry bushes have gone crazy. If I go back there it will be in full body armour and with a small front end loader or a tank .... a flame thrower could be handy too.

27-Jul-07
I liked this one.. different sort of location. I particularly liked the fact that a path was worn to the middle of the bush by geocachers.. A nice popular one by the looks of it.. made it easier to get to.

09-Apr-07
This is not a good cache to do at night. You can't see where the thorns are. Luckily we'd all worn long pants, but you could hear the thorns snagging on mine.

We took turns with Yewenyi's torch and eventually c.j.b. found the cache.

Took nothing, left nothing, thank you for the cache.

09-Apr-07
Three cheers for thick cotton military field pants. ^_^

Took the Finus TB and the Bunny Ball. Left ???

09-Apr-07
it was dark. we took turns with the one torch. Chris found it on his second attempt.

03-Feb-07
Glad I was wearing jeans. Kept one eye on the bushes, I remembered being told as a youngster that snakes love black berry bushes. Quick find. TNLNSL. Thanks Pyro2355 for the cache.

01-Feb-07
As mentioned before there was a slight mishap with the previous placement of this TB concerning the logging process have now been back and recovered the TB number and logged sorry for any inconvenience.

We found this one with little to no effort besides the 100 metre walk.
Had no problems with the thorns either but strongly recommend this cache be moved due to the well worn track.
Have left Findus Travelbug but TNLN. Thanks for the cache.

Managed to remove the cache without getting hurt. Oh how I would love to spray the area with some Triclopyr... Anyway, took nothing, left a keyring. Cheers for the cache Pyro.

21-Jan-07
Thorny find, maybe cache needs to placed further in, track becoming well worn.
TNSL, left spider

06-Jan-07
Quick find but perhaps shorts and tshirt were not the best to attempt this one in. Took bracelet TB left bouncy ball.

30-Dec-06
Thongs & shorts were not the best the attire to do this cache.
Took TB OINKALOID
Left blood on thorns

30-Dec-06
found at 15.35, also found Riptide's blood on thorns. Wink dropped TB bracelet. TFTC SL

05-Dec-06
I think it's been too dry recently, as I didn't see any fruit on the bushes which I thought would be set by now. Anyway I had no problem getting the cache which I dropped to terrain 1 by keeping on my thick motorcycle jacket and gloves. Left Oinkaloid TB.

19-Nov-06
Came to the bush by bike but realised I didn't have the co-ords stuck in my gps. Ah well, came back later (again on bike) and located the stash quickly. Damn thorns, got some nice acupuncture Smile
Cheers

24-Sep-06
Nice cache. Should have worn something other than thongs and shorts.

Note: the cache seems to have become water logged at some stage and the log book is no longer viable. If planning to find this one, perhaps take a replacement log with you.

07-May-06
Glad the co-ords were accurate for this one as it wouldn't be much fun searching around in the "berry bush" for a cache. Found this one with Deputy D0g & posse.

Took mini pegs and left a NEMO keyring torch

Thanks Pyro

20-Apr-06
Shouldn't have even tried for this one, but a close cache is hard to resist.
1. Shorts and sandals
2. dark
3. dim torch

After about 5 mins of pain and suffering I thought I might leave this one to another day.

12-Mar-06
Ouch! Doh!!! Owww!!
Well this was a 'prick' to find Smile
Quite hot out today and although getting to the cache was easy, reaching in to grab it resulted in quite a few battle scars... TNLN.

Grabbed this 1 on my lunch break. Found the cache after a couple of mins searching. Managed to replace it without injury. Cool TNLS thanks Pyro.

26-Aug-05
Ouch!!!!!!!

This one will have to be affected by cache creep within the next few months or else it will not be found again until development starts. And we know what will happen to the cache then.

TNLN

Good Cache in a nice location (aside from the thorns).

Took about 5 minutes to find, good colouring on the cache. We must have looked directly at it at least twice without realising it was there.

TN LN SL

Thanks!

Twisted
Stone the crows. As blackberry goes,
I tried again but not in vain.

I found the thing and the ants were in,
A haven it seems, they found the seams.

The contents were dry and I heaved a sigh,
Not so bad, but a little sad.

You cannot deny it's safe to lie,
Amongst the thorns so muggles are warned.

To keep away, or their gunna pay,
For the barbs galore would make a score.

but not in me,
I came to see!!.

How to retrieve this cache,
From it's thorny stash.

So I did it this time, no blood of mine,
And I went away, very smug to say.Big GrinBig Grin

# Thanks Pyro2355
It's very different in wide open spaces.
Hope you realise that maybe in 2-3 months this cache will be well and truely covered and impossible to find or retrieve.
TNLN.

being my first seek, i almost gave up when i saw all those bushes ! but it was neatly located and i found it in 15 min. smart color choice for the container Wink

I didn't take anything but left a black leather band and of course wrote a log page.

16-Jul-05
Cheers Pyro, nice spot
I dont know why people complain about a cupla thorns. Maybe they should take up lawn bowls or cards.Big GrinBig Grin
Took litle army dude, Left red fire truck

16-Jul-05
Found easily (by Kathryn) while I managed to get myself tangled a little. I was the one who had to retrieve it at the cost of some blood. T: keyring, L : ball, skin and blood. Thanks Pyro for the cache.

To bleed or not to bleed that is the question.

Is it still there I do declare, my blood runs freely and that's not fair.

I'm still alive and that's what matters.

My clothes by now could all be in tatters?.

17-Jun-05
Is it still there? Found the co-ords. Found the bush. Scratched through the thorns. Didn't find a container. Found some foam and other rubbish but not the cache.

The additional hint should have been part of the description. Anyone attempting this cache without long pants is asking for pain.

14-Jun-05
My first cache!

Lucky I had ridden to the cache so was well dressed for it (full leathers!)... No prickly bush gonna get thru that! My only advice to others is not to drop ur keys in the bush - takes longer to find them than the cache itself!

Thanks Pyro for my first cache and thanks sami_search for introducing me to caching in the first place.

04-Jun-05
Hmmm, man do we need to get a hobby, running around Blacktown in the dark (I must be mental!!).

An interesting place to put a cache, may be overgrown very soon or destroyed by the council (if they're smart, bloody noxious weed!!).

Took: TB Frank the brontosaurus

Left: Mini torch.

Thanks pyro.

10-May-05
cache check.. all is good.. left tb frank the brontosaurus

09-May-05
This is a case of the thorns among the pricks or the pricks amongst the thorns. Easy find and did draw some blood. Took nothing as the contents were meagre so left something of more value.

04-May-05
On a trip to Sydney to visit the US consulate I was staying at Glenwood with some family friends and was happy to see that a cache had popped up since my last visit in June 2004.

We (Daniel, family friends son and my self) walked through streets of Glenwood as Daniel said he thought he might know where the cache was based on the description I gave him. Sure enough we got to the berry bushes and started to search with our torches (it was 9pm at night). After looking for 5 minutes on one side and then we walked around to the other side and found the cache almost instantly.

I didn’t have any swag with me so I just signed the log.

Thanks for the night time cache adventure Pyro.

berry thorns are evil, evil things....

Good Easy Find but OOOUUUUUUCCCCCCHHHHHH!!!!![B)] Thats just EvilTwisted

31-Mar-05
Berry Bushes, who placed this cache here??? Alternatively, why has the council not burnt the bush down especially with a school over the road.

Other than the thorns, a nice easy cache. Thanks.

TNLN Except "Dalibhunga" (Travel Bug Dog Tag)

28-Mar-05
Found it Left a TB... found the co-ords to be out for this cache as well.... found it by following the goat track starting to form.......

Blackberrys, only good for one thing, protecting feral rabbit burrows, good for food for feral cats, good for hunting native animals, there fore we need to keep the blackberry bushes to rid the land of the nasty native animals.......

25-Mar-05
I'm with SWAG, nuke it!

20-Mar-05
12:23pm
Easy prickly find, did not swap, don't need any more super balls. Placed it back and continued on our way for a afternoon drive.

11-Mar-05
Nasty cache this one. I pulled my cotton trackies over long pants after reading previous logs. I reckon this one will be impossible to do in about 12 months because those noxious blackberries will have expanded and engulfed the cache.
Don't know why the local council doesn't just nuke this aggressive weed.
Took Carn the Crows TB. LNSL.

24-Feb-05
droped of tb carn the crows

20-Feb-05
Ouch, I’m glad I wore my long pants for this one.

I'm not the first finder for this cache but I'm sure one rather annoyed individual will log soon.

pitty about the location though its not the best of spots to put a cache but shit happens, just make sure you wear sturdy pants and trop, coz is very prickly!!
