Aarh the highlight of my day. me n the geokids beated about the waterfront on our wheels taking in all the great sites along the way, with the promise of a swim at the end. Luckily I took the COs advice and plugged in all the co-ords which helped. No angry man on the footpath today. No fat bottomed girls either. Tough to get at the log.
Now back for that swim
Now back for that swim
Had this on the list for a while but i've never had enough time. Waypoints were quite easy but there were heaps of them. Nice Spot for the final location, i've always thought there should be a cache in this place. Very Nice Indeed!

Without a bicycle, I went to Willi by car and on foot to do Willi by Bike!
Anyhow, although there are about 30 waypoints and it takes quite a while, they're all quite easy and I understand the difficulty rating of just 1. Extracting the container did prove about a difficulty 5 for me , though, so I'm glad to finally get this smilie!

Definitely a much harder cache to score than a 1/1 but nonetheless here I am. Extracting the cache from its hide was a challenge too. When I opened the container it was full of water and I expected the log to be soggy but the bag it was in served its purpose and I was able leave my mark and grab the travel bug. Thanks Robmc...this is a nice location.
This is seriously under-rated as a 1/1 cache
Coming to Williamstown for my last work trip I decided I should finally do this one. Did some planning and decided to do it by car, plotted where I needed to stop.
Started at the first waypoint at 5:30pm and was watched the bike punt arrive. That would be such a neat way to get to work each day
Continued onwards and made the café district about 6:30pm, having admired the giant Kookaburra and enjoyed the view at the end of the pier.
Took a break and headed back to my motel and then headed back to the café district for tea. I did stop at a could of waypoints along the coast, including pulling over and putting on the flashing lights to grab the information at the grave.
As I ate dinner I started my calculations and worked out what I still needed to know to get to GZ. Got the final information I needed and then plotted where GZ was. Wow Having a new GPSr (which I bought last year when here for work) put me in a spot I had always wondered about when driving around the area. I knew there should be a cache there, and finally I know why no caches had appeared there. I wonder how many finds are from cachers placing a cache close by, only to be told to there is already one there[;][?]
With the night quite dark I parked close to GZ, but decided it was far too dark for me to head into the darkness looking for a cache, so I decided to save it until the morning.
Finally back in the morning and I headed off to GZ.
Hmmm, no cache
Checked the hints then found I was 20m off. I knew that nature question would get me, but at least the assumption I'd made about the error in the formula:
I used 18c, not 18d (which doesn't exist) for I
was correct.
Used the hint and quickly had a cache in hand. Only spotted the one other log in the book, so after adding my name, I dropped in a lovely little coin to hopefully entice others on this wonderful journey

P.S Thanks for this tour, and thanks for the help in logging a few caches in the Williamstown area. I'll miss coming over here, as my work situation is changing

Another Demolition Crew caching day / night with the usual crew being Quasar3671, TrailRunning and Rebel Acts. A fantastic run, with some great caches found and logged. We had bikes and kayaks this time, which was very entertaining, as were my pathetic kayaking skills..... Thankfully my bike riding is great. A few milestones for the night, TrailRunning's 4000th find and another 5/5 DT cache. A fantastic, fun night as always. Thanks to all the CO's their hides, without their efforts, we would have had nothing to find.
Another cache we have been meaning to get for a long time. Done now, and we got very wet in the early hours of the morning, finding the cache at GZ.... Pretty warm night, so all was good. TFTC. Fav given, and more astronomical references.... I think you might me an Amateur Astronomer / Geocacher like me and Q3671 are.

Tonight's run with Trailrunning, Blacklegend and Rebel Acts (TDC) could have been made into a movie called "Kayaks, Bicycles and Automobiles" as the cache run involved a fair bit of driving, a lot of kayaking and some cycling as well. The afternoon and night proved to be a bit of an adventure with a great range of cache types, sizes and levels of difficulty and terrain found. A lot of time and effort had gone into the making and placing of these caches and I thanks each of the CO's for this.
The plan for the night was to hit the Werribee region, and especially to attempt to complete the 'Bring Ya Rod' series, which we had a an absolute blast doing. We met in the southern suburbs and continued on up through Melbourne and then into Werribee from the north. Once the area was cleaned out it was off to Williamstown where we cached into the wee hours of the morning before making our way home via Melbourne for one last cache.
This cache was one of a few I picked up tonight that had been on my to finally get list for a very long time.At GZ we were under attack by a very aggressive sprinkler system that just wouldn't let up and after some searching and getting rather wet the cache was finally found. Thanks Robmc.

# 2592. Out on the bikes again today to finish a cache I started many months ago. Had got half way with it on a very cold winter's day and now it was time to complete the task. Started at WP 18 and proceeded to collect all the information whilst battling a cold, strong head wind. This is supposed to be summer and didn't we have 39 degrees just a few days ago? Got to the last couple of WPs and were able to watch the white horses rushing towards the shore. It was a wild sea out there today. Worked out the coordinates for GZ and retreated to a more sheltered spot away from the beach. What a lovely secluded place this is, although it does look as though some heavy rain wouldn't go astray here. Found and signed the log, returned the cache to its hiding spot and made our way home with a nice tail wind this time. TFTC.
Finally got a smiley for this one! The clues were gathered by bike in 2 different stages a month apart. The previous clues had been left at home so it had to wait for a third visit to attempt the final assault. A summer afternoon BBQ down at Willy beach gave me opportunity, so I headed off to GZ on the way home.
The cache was found quite quickly. I was a bit glum having read the comments from previous finders, knowing that the cache would be a mess. And it was. slimy, pulpy and half filled with water. Didn't seem to be much point even trying to sign the log but I felt duty bound to take a happy (should that be sad?) snap of it.
Thanks Robmc for a great multi, which was both fun and educational. and great exercise.

Oh what an epic journey in the sun. Next time I'll be sure to take sunscreen! Pretty sure waypoints 10, 11 and 12 are missing (or I'm blind) but we managed to find our way there with the numbers we had and the hint. Cache was full of water, logbook slimy. I signed a piece of paper and added that but I'm sure it will be mush before long. Thanks for the journey.
And so ends one very long trek. Don't know how but container was sealed and full of water. Very very damp.

this cache gas been waiting to be struck off my list for a long time now.
Well now it's done.
The cache itself is pretty ordinary. More like paper mâché than a log book. Very wet and gooey. I didn't bother trying to sign anything.
Thanks Rob for the cache. : )

The clues have slowly been gathered over a few visits to the area, and today I finished it off and made the final assault on GZ. I managed to find the cache, but the spot were it is hidden is full of water and the cache was afloat. Unfortunately the contents were full of water, and the log is now unsignable, so left a small piece of paper. Thanks Robmc for an epic cache.
The Monday before Melbourne Cup day is always a great day to take off from work. It left me on my own without kids or other commitments. I started my run at about 3 pm in the afternoon and made a great time of it. This time I brought the mountain bike along to grab a few caches on bicycle paths. It was all going well until my puncture at about 10 pm in the evening. Well from then on I just went for some easy drive bys with short walks. The run was a good solo effort picking up quite a number of caches. There were only a few DNF’s so it was well worth the effort. This cache was one I found tonight. Thanks Robmc for the cache. The log is saturated.
All this work for a 1/1 rating!! WOW this is tough. It's taken me an hour to load all the WP's into the GPS. That's at least a 1.5 difficulty and I haven't even started!!
Well for me this was Willi By Car. Found enough clues to put me in the right place and searched around for a while today at lunchtime for the find. Cache is a bit wet and the log is soaked. I replaced the Ziploc bag and dried things out a little before adding a sheet of paper which I signed. TFTC and bring me across to this lovely area. This is no longer my closest to work.
Set off at 12pm (on foot) picked up/dropped off various caching buddies on the journey but Deb & Geopup lasted the distance. Thanks for a great day guys & Robmc for a wonderful cache.
The cache is very wet and the surrounds have grown making it difficult to retrieve the cache.

Got a few of the waypoints done a month ago while I was caching in Spotswood, wandered around Williamstown and managed to finish off the cache yesterday. Great day with plenty of people out, managed to avoid them while grabbing the cache. The logbook is soaked, even inside two layers of plastic bags, so you'll have a bit of trouble signing it if you choose to do so.
We used "Shanks Pony" over two days to get the information from each of the waypoints. The only difficulty was at #26 where the area has been fenced off whilst asbestos removal was being undertaken. Thankfully this information from this waypoint was not critical for the cache location. Once the final coordinates were calculated, we were able to make a quick find. Thanks for the tour of the area and an interesting cache.
The 2nd of May and 10 years of Geocaching. Well, not me of course, I am a mere 'babe in the woods' in terms of longevity in this regard. However, to 'celebrate' the 10th Anniversary it was to be a day of 'urban caching' with my erstwhile friend, Dylan. Our aim? To at least get 10 caches for the 10 years (so to speak a modest 1 per year if you the metaphor) by plodding our way around Williamstown. This 'massive plod multi' as I called it, (in hindsight a Bike would have been easier but its 'the why make it easier method being applied' here) provided by 'Robmc' certainly used up a lot of plod steps (I estimated well over 12,000 allowing for diversions & distractions, chocolate bars to be acquired and then munched and colas to be gulped etc). And a 'tour de force' of Williamstown it turned out to be that was both informative and importantly, enjoyable, even if the cache was finally 'found' in darkness! I certainly 'learned' things about Williamstown that I surely was not aware and I have been 'haunting' (as some may say) this suburb for decades. When the cache was found, to my surprise a small Frog 'jumped' (or do Frogs 'leap'?) from the cache's hiding spot into my torchlight's beam. I can see why too, it was very damp, cool and the cache was full to its brim with water! Though, I wondered - a Frog here nearabouts of the soothing waves? Happily, the Log was dry, well protected in its plastic envelopes. After 'draining' water and 'drying' the cache, it was placed back in its hide and then it was home bound after a day of caching mixed fortunes (this was the 10th find of the day and this allowed for a couple of DNFs). Thanks to 'Robmc' for an entertaining days' plod that was an 'education' as well. TNLN. TQP
And Willy by bike it was. Cleaned out a cache with water in the bottom but log was dry. tftc
Finally finished this today. This this is one of best go find information caches done in a long time. Loved the concept. T4t touring and seeing places from my distant childhood memories.

[a nice easy find, a bit wet, my 5 year old brother found it] a bit spiky but not too bad
Decided that todays caching trip would be the cleaning up Willy caches by bike.
Started collecting clues for this cache at around 1ish pm today. Had initial problems with gps pointing in all directions couple of directional calibrations later, and we were back on track.
It mostly went smoothly - had the heavens open up at around waypoint 10 and we had to take shelter here for some time - lucky we had another puzzle to decipher whilst we waited for the rain to stop.
When we stopped for lunch, it started raining again. Lucky we were under cover of a restaurant.
Had to double back a couple of times too when I missed some of the turn offs.
At waypoint 26 a wedding party was coming back from having their photos taken, interesting spot have this done I thought.
Finished collecting the answers to the questions and sat down nearby waypoint 28 to calculate...
Opps.. one of the answers is a double digit?! Thats not right! I must have picked up something wrong...
Time to backtrack to the car and re-check my answers. I had the wrong year for waypoint 19
This time with correct co-ords we drove to the location.
The cache was filled with water!! Lucky the logbook was not swimming, water had started to get inside and it is a little damp.
Signed log at 6.20pm. I had some ziplock bags in the car, and double bagged the logbook.
Unite for Diabetes TB and Big Girlie Tractors TB came for a visit.
Thanks Robmc for an enjoyable cycling adventure!

This weekend was one that I was determined to strike of few of my list that have been causing me grief, and this especially so. I have walked and drove this one down over a long time whilst on my regular visits to my mum and sister. With my sister now in tow and having rechecked a year date (again) we located final location with no problems. Thanks for the history and this journey and really enjoyed it and equally glad to sign the very wet log book. I dried it out the best I could. Thanks for bringing me here/here and here.
This was a really enjoyable ride through Willie full of interesting info. My GPSr had no trouble finding the exact location of the cache which is a huge relief when you've put all that time into it. Thanks again Robmc for a well thought out multi, even if I couldn't see the speed restriction sign in the river. The sistema was full of water, but the logbook was nice and dry in it's sealed bag. Found with L'Red. Some driving some walking had us arrive at a familar GZ. The cache was totally soaked, not moist, just soaked. We logged our visit at 1420 hrs. Thanks Robmc for the Willi tour.
No bike for this one just a car/legs & a call to the cache owner who confirmed the final location
Cheers Rob
Cache also needs some maint as log is saturated & we had to leave only a piece of signed paper.

I did a few components a couple of months back when in the area. I ducked out this morning to see if I could complete it and it took far longer than I allowed for. GZ took me a couple of goes, I actually gave up and went and did a nearby cache (!!!) before I was compelled to finish this one!
Thanks for showing me the beautiful sites of this part of town, I look forward to many revisits.

Found @ 10:10. Quiet some months ago the geowife and I did all the preliminary work on this one, but it got late and we needed to get back before dark as we didn't have lights, so final calc's were done at home. Collected today in the company of davroy on caching by bike day. A great cache but I'm sure glad most multi's aren't this long. Thanks, TNLNSL
This was one of the first multi caches I attempted along with Feet of Bronze way back in May last year. I eventually put it aside and today I finally put it to bed and completed the last few WP's. A great cache if a tad long. Thanks Robmc
Must have forgotten to log this one, we found it a few weeks back but I can't remember the date.
What a great day out, a bit of rain has really helped make things look more alive. The final destination was my favorite with a well earned rest in the shade. I swapped out a frog for a geo band. TFTC took geocoin.

What a monster! I've got mixed feelings about it - great satisfaction in having accomplished it (although I wish the weather had been a bit more pleasant) but I think that it could have been broken down into several smaller caches with the final location as a puzzle - by the time I was at the end of it, the caches I had done early in the day seemed as though I'd done them a month ago . Some of the locations would be quite worthy of having their own caches (I'd like to do a tour of the Castlemaine again, for instance) but tend to get bypassed in the avalanche of wps this way. That said, I thought the final location was surreal - very atmospheric and intriguing, I've never been here before, and it's another reminder of how old the area is and what a great stock of historical locations it has. I was very glad of the final clue - I was in no mood for a prolonged hunt (especially at that location ).
I TNLN but dropped off a geocoin (which should be safe here from the recent thefts from inner suburban caches).
Thanks again Robmc - my GPSr waypoint memory will now seem much bigger!

About 2 months after I started it! It was a long one but every time I thought about that, I also thought about the amount of effort that must have gone into preparing it! Lots of interesting things to find and the end result turned out to be spot on as per usual. Thanks Robmc for all the effort and an enjoyable time touring Willy. T Amadillo, L Hen.
Our family's very first find after a long marathon on a beautiful day. Thank you for a great day out and thank goodness for the clue! (I was determined not to give up after all that work!) Took: dice, dinosaur. Left: mondo & troll.
Found at 3.40pm GAFF3. What a great tour of Williamstown and Newport. Thoroughly enjoyed every single one of the WPT's - a highly recommended cache. However after putting together the numbers, I thought that I had mucked up somewhere along the line as it took me within 20 metres of another cache. I even checked it out to see if it had changed its name. No still the same as it was originally. So I re-did the calcs, but got the same answer. This then forced me to look at the hint, which was good enough for me to go straight to the cache. While signing the log book, I noticed my GPS showed that I was 14-19 metres out. Thanks Robmc for a great cache tn/ln.
I enjoyed a walk through sunny Williamstown today taking in all the local attractions and finding a cache as well whilst Mark had to work. This one had been on our to do list for much too long and it seemed a good way to bring up our 1800th. I had a bit of trouble at gz, an EPE of 20 metres was not at all helpful but a phonecall to the Coffee helpline solved this problem

Found at 2045hrs by all 4 of the Pickupfamily Members after starting the first waypoint at 1555hrs. Had a very enjoyable time, driving between groups of waypoints, and dinner in Williamstown proper and did probably half of the waypoints in the dark.
There are some quite amazing places of interest along this route, thanks for bringing us to them Robmc. Requiring special mention was waypoint 16, where the Pickupfamily Kids added their crutches to the thousands before them; a very apt description in the cache notes there, Robmc!

Third of ten finds for the day. Well this had been a work in progress for some time, it took me two trips to Williams town to complete and I used the car. This is one Multi I am glad to finally finish.
Thanks Rob for the tour.

Up to date I've tried to make every century milestone a significant find so I've chosen this cache for my 400th.
Is this a significant find? Well it would be if I did it correctly, which I didn't but nevertheless my names in the book, so thats significant. The owner is significant too and a mate of mine so I reckon that counts, and he'd remain so,or be more popular if he stayed at home on his days off and stopped streaking ahead of me with his tally.
Somehow I don't think he's listening.
Thanks Robmc

The very first find. Had a great day on our bikes and discovered things about Willy we never knew...
Found 16:20, as Biggles Bear does not own a bike, he parked his car near WP5 (having collected the data from the first four WP some time ago), and set off on a pleasant walk along the beach front.
TNLN, thanks for a great walk and cache Robmc.

Found at 12:30pm. Second of eighteen on our Western Suburbs Ramble. This cache was completed over our last three trips to Williamstown. A few weeks ago we got as far as WP12. Last Sunday we got to WP23. Today we finally managed to complete. Thanks Robmc from D & K B-A (Trip 1), D, H1 & A B-A (Trip 2) and D & H2 B-A (Today). Whew. (Robmc Waypoint Count Currently 43)
Found at 5:45pm. Accompanied by GeoDano.
we decided to go by car and had showers most of the afternoon and after a number of stops for the rain to cease in about 2 hours had the cache in hand.
In-Green Fish, Out-Green snake, Signed Log.
Thanks Robmc....

Last of three Robmc caches for the afternoon. I started this one at 1530, and gradually worked my way through the waypoints. I had originally intended to do this one by bike with Emu-M, but circumstances conspired to prevent that, so I tackled it alone, by car. Boy-o-boy! Twenty-eight waypoints beats my previous record of twenty-five for "A-Z Canberra Tours". However, this one only required 8km of travel; that one required 530km!
I logged two other Robmc caches between waypoints, and it was dark by the time I got to the cache at 1750. This was a really enjoyable cache, and I saw and learnt a lot about Williamstown and District. I nabbed the resident TB, and left another one in its place. Thanks once again to Robmc for the cache.
IN: Toy car
OUT: Pirate patch and earring

Found at 5:10PM by Ray and Maya on the 5th of June. What a wonderful days outing. It took us 3.5 hours to complete, but we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We even stopped for another cache in the area as we trekked. What value. Maya took the beetle bugs and left an Echidna puzzle. Thanks from The Nomads.
Found at 2.25pm
We used our bikes to visit all waypoints and started at the West Gate Bridge.
What a great way to see Williamstown.
A thoroughly enjoyable tour.
We took a small toy doll and left Bak2skool TB.
Thanks

With apologies to both Lukey-boy and ssmc4, a combination of a glorious autumn day, child-minding duties and some time saving, pre-cache planning made this one too irresistable. Off we trekked and found the appropriate waypoints. We even got to see a bit of the filming of "Charlotte's Web" just near waypoint 19.
Having lived in the area for many years in an earlier life, I knew of a lot of these points although some were still new to me, which is always a joy. We got to the final bit and an all-over-the-place Geko meant that the hints had to be decoded . After that, the find was easy at 12:40.
Took Lone Scout TB, left a McD's soft toy.
Thanks for the tour Robmc.

What better way to spend Easter Monday.
Following an altercation between my thumb and a kitchen knife last night, mode of transport changed from bike to car... you can't change bike gears with no thumb tip (but that's another story).
Some intriguing Williamstown sight. Perhaps a cacher event some time at Location 22?
Left TB Lone Scout. Took Nothing.

Must have been a few minutes behind Partic all day! Visited all locations by bike, with the GPS running out of juice about 100m from the cache. This is when clues become invaluable!
An enjoyable afternoon spent around Willie. Thanks Robmc.
Left nothing, took nothing.

Found it! Visited all 28 waypoints by bike with a lunch squeezed in the middle. Very long, but good fun - misjudged the final location when I calculated it and thought it'd be over the other side of the Seagull's stadium. Still, found the real spot without too much trouble.
Took the die, left a pirate patch and earring.

A marathon cache this is. Despite the number of waypoints this looks like (and it) a great tour of Williamstown. I have been to most of these places before (my daughter goes to Willi High and I used to be involved with Williamstown Light Opera company) so I know the area pretty well.
Despite this there were still some waypoints that I haven't been to (especially 21, didn't even know it was there).
I actually started this cache a couple of days ago, collecting clues after dropping J off at school, This morning looked like a great day to complete the cache so from the cafe district I worked my way through to the end.
I had no problems collecting any clue and the maths at the end was nice and simple. The number of clues to collect is onerous, but please don't skip any. All of the waypoints are worth a visit for one or more reasons. Very interesting.
Finally getting to the cache location (it was where I expected) the foliage played havoc with my GPSr signal, sending me hither and yon, but in the right general area (or so I presumed). There are too many possible places to look that would have been disruptive so I deciphered the clue and found I was standing less than a meter away. Cool.
Took glow in the dark Mew, left jumbo dice ball.
Thanks Robmc. This is a tour worthy of an afternoon (I took about 2.5 hours in a car not rushing at all) and on the way you can grab snacks, have a picnic and use the toilets.

Found by Mary & David at 1400. A fascinating couple of hours in perfect sunshine. Refuelled at "The Town Fryer near WP20 - fish and chips featured on "Coxy's Big Break" recently. We had a lovely time enjoying the sea, history, architecture and great caching. Finally found the cache in the general area we suspected it might be when we set off. Took sea horse, left pack of craft ladybirds. Also gave TB Peabody Duck a lift. Out thanks to Robmc.
Willi by Car and Foot
Seeing as how everyone (including myself) was reticent about a cache with 28 waypoints, I thought I'd give it a go and hopefully come away with a FTF. Not being able to ride at the moment, I plotted the waypoints and decided to attempt this in the car over a couple of days. Fortunately, I was able to do the whole thing by car in around 2 hours, thus avoiding a return trip tomorrow. (It could have been done quicker if I'd moved the car a couple more times instead of walking).
After obtaining all the required clues, I headed off to GZ. The GPS was pointing somewhere likely, but a quick check revealed nothing. I didn't want to just rumage around anywhere, so I sat down and hand decrypted the clue (my PDA was at home). Once finished, the cache was quickly found. (By the time I had logged the cache, the GPS was just about spot on with my calculated co-ordinates).
I took nothing, but left TB Peabody Duck. Thanks for the cache and a lovely evening's entertainment, with some history thrown in as an added measure.
