Searched high and low whilst avoiding lots of muggles who use the path as a thoroughfare, but no luck. Given the number of DNFs before us I suspect the cache is gone. Good multi, enjoyed reading about the battery and the voluntary artillery corps.
King and Queen Jr are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary - to mark the occasion, we travelled to Hobart from Melbourne for dinner and a weekend away.
We found WP1 ok arrived at GZ and despite the council worker directly on the other side of the hedge we had a good look before making the DNF call. The hint confirmed we were in the right spot.
Our thanks anyway to Malbena and too to our parent for looking after the geoprinces while we made the trip

Similar results to previous seeker. Certainly not in the obvious place, had a good look around but had to be careful with the council gardeners nearby.
Searched for this one after grabbing the nearby Antarctica TB Lounge. Muggles everywhere enjoying the lovely park. Slowly, we made our way over to the information sign trying not to disturb anyone. Got the info no problem and headed off for GZ.
To its credit, it was a discreet little corner (though we still needed to be very watchful), but we could not find the cache. In the place where the hint suggested there was a cache-shaped hole-- what that means I don't know. It was the only spot that really made sense, but we searched thoroughly all around it anyway, in the plant, the wall, the bushes, the sign, everywhere we could think of but found nothing. Also, it wasn't the most pleasant of places to search as it was quite smelly. Eventually we simply had to admit defeat.

Easy find, but had to be careful with wedding party of muggles nearby. Good intro to geocaching, thanks. Kidlet loved the park.
Nice hide. Walked past this every day for several years and never knew the cache existed. TFTC.
Took a while to locate but got there eventually. The youngest really enjoyed the playground here. Took the gnome gc. TFTC
This multi didn't take too long to complete. Had our maths wrong a few times before finally getting something that was plausible. Had to wait out some muggles, but once they had gone we had the cache within seconds. Great hunt and thanks for the history lesson. TFTC
Enjoyed the history lesson while completing the calculations for this quick multi. Lovely locations with several other caches very nearby.
Found with Mrs while enjoying a few days in Hobart.
NOTE: Logbook is full - found a missed page midway thru. Will need a replacement.
TNLN, TFTC. Cheers

Oh dear... Left my Caching partner too far behind on this one and she was understandably not happy. Now she'll have to come back to Tassie for another Caching adventure.
There are some remains below the sign here, but they are all locked up.
It was a bit damp today, so the slide had a bit of a surprise at the bottom for whomever might come sliding down
An interesting story of the fortifications that seems to be repeated all around with this style of fort.
Thanks, Robmc.

Very difficult as there was a puppy party happening nearby. Had to keep pretending the kids needed attention until we could duck in and grab it. Took Batman TB
Nice little Multi. Wish I had geodaugther with me to enjoy the slide! TFTC and the bit of history. Who would have known our defences were so poorly conceived!
I was down from Melbourne for a quick day trip for work and had the opportunity to find a few Tassie caches - my first cache attempts in this lovely state. This was #1 of 6 finds and I really enjoyed sitting in this park in the springtime weather signing the log book and wondering if I'd ever get to visit Antarctica. I didn't take any TBs but wished them well in their respective journeys.
A terrific raison d'etre for a cache - well done and many thanks.

It was great to have a walk down here, such a lovely park but especially good to see where the battery of Battery Point once stood. It was great reading the plaques, and I had no trouble calculating or finding GZ. A bit of a squeeze, but I managed to leave a TB in there.
Thanks heaps for the cache

Lovely park with plenty plenty of muggles. I love that the army unit was popular to join - as you got a free uniform ! WP1 was pretty straight forward, and a short walk to final GZ.

Found it today after a false start caused by not paying attention to my A's, B's and C's! Was just marvelling at how Hobart has some very pretty gardens and parks. Even during the winter time there is still colour and interesting things. TFTC
P.S. Log book is full - could do with replacement.

While Mrs Geo and princess geo were celebrating at a party with Stumbleduponits clan, Jr Geo and I decided a cache hunt would be better than listening to 40+ young girls screaming their way though a party. This was a nice quick find with nice easy hints. A clever little hide although a bit smelly!!!! TFTC
Found this one at 13:45 after a very pleasant walk around this lovely park, although I did have to read the hint in the end to finally nab the stash .

We didn't realise the history of theis area and the number of people and events commemorated in this park - most enlightening. We wandered around the park for about 30 minutes to collect the required information. The cache was quickly located. TFTC
I have been spending a couple of days looking around Hobart and what better way to do it than rely on the GPS to take you places and show you things.
Thanks for the walk around a corner of Hobart that I hadn't been to before.
You prompted me into a much longer and interesting walk through the streets of Battery Point.

I cheated on this one and used powers of deduction to work out the final coords without visiting.
Picked up today on an afternoon caching run.

This park is always worth a visit and today was perfect. Read the info which was interesting, too. Left a ladybird peg. TFTC.
What a hilarious story!!! . Thanks for leading me here - enjoyed the history, and found cache eventually. TFTC
Enjoyed the multi and the park. Great spot to relax on a warm afternoon. Thanks to HCC for providing the drink fountains and the lovely gardens. TFTH
Was able to collect this one eventually at 1034hrs. Muggles everywhere; Ladies with dogs, teachers with school kids, husbands and wives with babies and park workers with their rakes and vacc blowers. Easy cache.....usually!!! TFTC and cheers OldSaint.
Found after a nice play in the park with GeoBoy. Great spot for lunch away from the busy Salamanca crowd.

Nice spot I'd visited last time in Hobart. Good simple multi and quick find. If only they were all like this. Second of the day. TFTCSL
17:46 Found on our Touring Tassie and Beyond 2009 Trip!
Some really nice houses around here that get some good views across the harbor
A nice easy multi that took us no time at all. Made a nice quick find once at Gz before a muggle appeared. Timing was excellent in fact!

The historical information regarding the battery is as interesting as it is comical
Even the author of the passage on the information board hints at the absurdity of the mistakes made in planning
Another unique feature of this park was discovered by myself today as I poked around looking for this and other caches.
There seems to be a full time gardener/ caretaker employed here [:o]
Of course he was always in the wrong place when it came to cache retrieval
Patience......OK he's gone, quick put it back !!

Spent the morning wandering Salamanca Market, then took a short stroll to Battery Point to placate the Wench's urge to look at old buildings.
BBTD wanted a play at the nearby playground, so I took the chance to grab a cache rather than stand in the rain.
A bloke walking his dog stood around like a stale bottle of beer waiting for me to do something, while I sat around waiting for him to clear off and let me return the cache to its hiding spot.
Eventually he wandered off, a bit bored, and I could return the cache and leave the area.

I worked out the clues easily and headed to GZ. Unfortunately the gardener arrived just as I did so I had to wait for him to trim the hedges before securing my prize. TN L patch. Thanks Malbena.
Nice hide, kids always love this park, just hard to get them moving towards the cache. TFTC

After having dinner nearby for Mrs Coffee's birthday we went for a walk with pprass, maccamob and Mrs Coffee to collect the required info before heading off to gz. Before getting there we did get a bit of a surprise as the automatic sprinklers came on causing us to scatter and time our approach. Maccamob found the cache very quickly and we all signed the log

Found by Mary & David at about 2215. After a superb meal at the Ball and Chain Grill, we mounted a group assault on this cache. Tremendous fun, and then the sprinklers started. Even more fun! TNLN. Our thanks to Malbena.

Credit to Red Tag again. Should pay more attetion to hints Thanks for the cache TNLN
Now it is getting quite late. Rebulus and I did all the work and Red Tag just walks up and picks up the cache. Thanks Malbena
Found with rebulus and gspblu at 11.59pm. This was my laziest cache for the day with the boys doing all the work and I just strolled along behind enjoying the still night. I found the cache was easy to find with a bright torch while they were distracted checking we were at GZ. TFTC. TNLNSL
Found by edmil & maddie. I arrived in Hobart late Tuesday afternoon as A colleague and I were running a forum on Wednesday. It was just on dusk so I knew I wouldn't have much time to do any caching. However I had to get at least one cache while I was over here as it would then mean that I had cached in every state in Australia. As luck would have it the first way point was less than 200 meters from my accommodation so I went for it. Completed the clues in I must say record time as the PDA is still playing up and has a tendency to crash at the most inappropriate times. Found the cache with a small bit of daylight to spare. Thanks for the cache, officially my first for Tasmania. TNLN.
Found on the way home from work as the rain started to pour. The relative shelter not too far from the cache came in handy for filling out the log without getting it wet. The last time I was in this park I was already addicted to geocaching but without a GPSr of my own. I knew in my bones that there would be a cache or two here, so it was good to return and find one so quickly.
Found 200705141507 . After the Mother Hubbard experience at the other Russians cache it was good to walk around this lsuh reserve to collect the information and make an easy find . I wished that I had my niece and nephew with me that they could have played on the fantastic equipment
