I think this cache has been moved or destroyed Great view from the top anyway though!

Unfortunately I think the cache is gone. Fantastic view from the top though!

This geocacher reported that the cache might be missing.

06-Sep-23
I climbed to the top of this pagoda formation to take in the glorious view and thought that I would seek out this cache while I was there. I was impressed that youngsters made it up that high, given the steep drops. Using the photo clue, I could easily identify where the cache was located, but all I found was a few loose stones. Sadly, it appears to have been removed.

07-May-23
No luck for us today. Hidey hole behind us was searched. Cave opening below was also a no go. We haven't had a great deal of luck since coming here hough. Probably one of the best views in the park though.

12-Feb-22
Had a great little walk and climb up here to find the cache after kayaking with a local company. Thanks for bringing us up here

cache #300!
Camping with family and friends at this great spot. Out for a morning hike with the whole gang and kids to enjoy wonderful views with the added bonus of cache. Bit of a shame that not everyone made it all the way to the cache with some of the drops nearby + the younger kids, but a great spot to remember our milestone cache! TFTC.

Well I tried... my gps got within 10m of GZ but I could not see and rock formation that looked like the photo. I went as high as I could go. But as I was alone, there was no tell tail path and the rocks got too steep I was defeated... A beautiful area though. Sad to see most of it had burnt during the bushfires this year

06-Sep-20
Found this place is sooo cool! Will for sure be coming back. TFTC

09-Jul-20
Great location?

04-Jul-20
As a regular visitor it was a joy to come back looking for a cache. The pagoda walk is one of my favorites. Nice to see a bit of regen after the fires. The little Hudson’s stayed home and I brought my 72 year young mum as an honorary Geocacher.

22-Feb-20
Found at 2:15:00 PM

Went in today after working out it was open after the fires. The area was a bit devastated and not much has grown back yet. Even every bush was burnt while rock hopping to the cache. Luckily the container wasn't fire affected.

Thanks bgrandy

18-Oct-19
Was rock-hopping on top of the pagodas thinking this would be a good spot for a cache but assumed that because it was a national park there wouldn't be any around. Checked the app to see if there were any virtuals nearby, only to find there was a traditional close by.

Made my way up and across to GZ without any trouble. Checked a couple of spots before finding the right one. There aren't many sticks left marking the opening.

Surprised a wallaby on my way back down.

Awarding a favourite point for the location.

What a ripper of a spot!! Found Smile

06-Apr-19
Camped out at Dunn’s Swamp for a bucks weekend away. Got up early and set my walk towards the pagodas. Made the mistake of not loading my GPSr up correctly, and not able to load on the phone because of no reception. Howeve, the photo hint was my way and after a bit of hopping around, found the spot and the cache. Early morning meant the most still hung around, so the view was a little obstructed but still an amazing spot.a fave for me.

TFTC,
We are on our way to an Event in Mudgee on the 17th. However, "Never the twain shall meet"has been on my must do list for many years. It is my goal to place a found on every active odlids cache and today is going to be the day I get another on.
We did GA0479 and decided to get this one next and cross the Pagodas to GA0478.
The log book is almost full so I placed a new log in the container. The old one is still there, just rolled a bit tighter.
What a great view from the lookout as we made our way here.
Visited trackables and added a favourite.

16-Mar-19
Staying in the area, to find Never the Twain Shall meet, started this side of the pagodas, fantastic views what a climb, signed the log and replaced. Thanks to bgrandy.

WOW no hesitation in giving this one a favourite point. 3rd time up here this trip and finally remembered to grab cache. No pen but took photos as evidence. What a place!!! TFTC

It was too hot for walking today. So, stupid me, decides to come up here anyway. Wow. Too hot.

Great views, good challenge. Nearly trod on a pretty big brown snake. This one will always be memorable.

With the heat I could not be bothered going to the next cache, will have to come back next time.

Cheers

Found while camping in the area. My bushwalking club was on a walk and I decided to leave them and go get some caches. Found a way up just past the dangerous cliff sign. Once on top I followed the rough track straight to gz. Once there made a quick find of a micro. TFTC

Fantastic location, for an early morning walk. This has long been on the bucket list of places to visit, this sure did not disappoint. Following the trail to the turn off for the lookout, I travelled over pagoda to reach GZ. After making the find, I returned to the trail via a small pagoda canyon. TFTC!!!!

Found this one first on the way to the long cave! It's a lovely winters day, though very windy, and no need to worry about muggles. I think it's just me and the ranger here today. I've been up here before, but realised that I'd have to go a bit further to get this cache. What did I expect with a Canadian Connection named cache! Fantastic views, fav point from me! Thank you for the cache! : )

18-Jul-17
Found on the 16/7. The walk up was absolutely breath taking. I ended up taking my boots off (while complaining as they were so slippery haha) and climbed the rest barefoot. To be honest felt great to be out in the winter sun and the fresh air. The location has a stunning view! Missed the cache at first but thanks to Blissbaby it was found quick enough.
Will definitely be back at Dunns Swamp again. Happy caching all!

16-Jul-17
Once again this eluded me for a short while. Loved the walk up here as always. The campground is as quiet as ive ever seen it and it was really nice to be the only ones kayaking on the water.

15-Apr-17
While staying in Glen Davis over the long Easter Weekend, we ventured out to Rylstone to explore the area. We had heard that Dunn's Swamp is a very beautiful and popular place, so we made a detour to see it and perhaps pick up a cache in the process.

We were not sure whether we should actually proceed on to the cache because it may have been a bit of a trek for our little lad who is not yet four years old. However, since it wasn't all the far from the camp site to the cache we decided to have a look.

After a bit of coaxing on the walking trail along the river, our little boy finally decided that it would be fun to climb up the hill. So with a bit of help he made it all the way to the top. A proud moment for him, which he relished.

I left him with mum at that point and proceeded towards the cache site. They would all have been able to get there, too, but it was quicker to go it alone. It didn't take too long to find the hiding spot and retrieve the container, which was a bit smaller than I had expected.

Some idiot had left a fishing lure with sharp hooks wrapped up in the log sheet. Anyone trying to extract the paper from the tube could easily have ended up with a rusty fishing hook in their flesh. I removed the lure and left one of my signature small wire dogs. Don't worry, he doesn't bite ...

After admiring the views some more we had to head on back to Glen Davis. Perhaps we'll come back to camp here sometime.

First geocache hunt ever with the 2 young kids in tow and they thought it was awesome going on a treasure hunt. Great hiding spot and not too precarious but still need to be careful around the pagoda cliffs with the junior adventurers. Forgot a pen and no pen in the cache so unfortunately couldn't add to the log.

We discovered all those many a couple of days ago.

We have solved all the interesting mysteries before we started our trip to the Mid Western Region of NSW.

Day 1

We started the day in Meadow Flat, followed by Sunny Corner and Dark Corner past Palmers Oakley.
We loved the hilly nature along many peaceful Gravel roads. Many smilies were forming on our map.
We finished the day in Bathurst.

Day 2

We started all fresh again in the morning. Leaving Bathurst, we were able to get going about faster along the sealed road.
We reached Sofala at around lunch time. We couldn't believe that about 40,000 used to live here. It really seemed that the city stopped developing in around the 1850's..
We continued towards Hills End and Windeyer through dry grassy land in 47 degrees heat.
We spend such a beautiful night here in Windeyer in the caravan park. We booked one of the train accomodation where you got to stay in the train back in time. What a great experience. We really liked Windeyer as it seemed so far away from all the city rush. Te locals were very welcoming and were happy to see us in the pub next door for dinner.
What a great community living were it seems like everyone knows everyone.

Day 3

We left Windeyer after a big breakfast. We travelled along Hills End Road until we reached the turn towards another Gravel road. There wer many animals to watch and it got even hotter and hotter.
This day ended in Mudgee.

Day 4

We took a look at Mudgee city today were we searched for a couple of caches and ten continued towards Rylstone.
After we continued to the Wollemi National Park which a good friend recommended us to go. Here we climbed on the top of the mountain and simply enjoyed the stunning view and the tranquil nature.
After, we traveled towards Kandos, Capertee, Cullen Bullen, Portland and Wallerawang back home to Sydney.

We hereby would like to thank all owners for this great interesting tour. We got to see many historical places and sometimes felt like as if we were living back in the the 1850's, which is a good thing.

Thanks
Team sissifalke

was happy to be back in Dunns Swamp for a long weekend of paddling, bushwalking, friends and a few beers round a campfire. its been 18mths or so since I first tried for this cache and it rained most of that weekend so I didn't give this one a lot of attention as the rocks were a tad slippery.
today it was hot and a whole lot easier, I made a real meal of this last time and at no time was in the right general vicinity, maybe the clouds had confused my gps.
Any way no more excuses, loved the views from here, I presume the dead tree is a result of a lightning strike but no real way of knowing.
Love the stones and the paddling here, had an awesome weekend and saw quite a bit of wildlife.
great spot for a cache Bgrandy thank you.

Bit of a scramble but well worth the effort.

19-May-15
Don't know why this is only a 2/3. (better a 4/4) after driving so far on rough track and then a 800 mtr clamber to get to it. But for sure it's in a great location and gets a fav. for that.

So many "that looks like the tallest" as you reach each one you realize no not this one, until finally you're there. TFTC fantastic view from the top, definitely worth the climb.

06-Mar-15
Found this one on the way back from Long Cave. What a view and not too much of a scramble to get to if you are relatively fit & active. Got a little bit scrambled on the way back amongst all the pagodas and potential descents as we didn't pay a great deal of attention on the way up while on the hunt for the cache - No big deal just pay attention on the ascent better than we did. SL TNLN TFTC

19-Feb-15
Wow. What a lovely spot. Thanks for taking us the extra bit for the best view. The sticks in the clue were missing so we added a few.

It did take a bit of clambering up the wrong hill before we finally found gz but that was a part of the fun. It gets a favourite from us.

18-Jan-15
Another great walk from the campsite and a bit of scramble to the peak, well worth the view.

08-Jan-15
kayaked from kookaburra beach to platypus point and walked the rest of the way.I was with s360kid. We went out looking for a regular sized cache but instead found a berrocca tube. we climbed up many rocks and we thought we had it but we figured it was on the cliff above us. We didn't bring any water and we got a bit lost on the way back. Very happy with a good swim at the end.

17-Nov-14
On a camp with friends at Dunns Swamp - Ganguddy and at the moment of leaving (as thought) All Strung Out suggested a 'quick' walk for a cache.

Goodo, the 'Fungus is all for that, but the sudden unplanned departure (including a forage through packed gear for the Garmin) had meant an ill-shod, sans camera, sans water wander.

All was fine, and it is an interesting and varied walk along the bank of the Cudgegong River to Platypus Point, through a dark arbor then to the base of the Pagoda trail. Not surprisingly 'Fungus baulked at the first 'step-up' but a verbal prod from ASO induced the necessary steps forward/up.

A (whinging/whining) progress was made ever up with increasing spectacular views but at a narrow crossover on a wide pagoda platform it was judged a step too far (and too challenging for the balance challenged) to trek further. It was deemed prudent to sit and appreciate the grand vistas even at this slightly below the high point and for ASO to flip flop his way for the cache a further 200 metres as the crow flies.

After baking on the rock in the midday sun for a while, the decision was made to move back down ... with moments later a faint 'coooeeee'. There was ASO well above and across the way on a momentary mis-trail on his return ... five minutes later he had caught up, muchly happy with the Found it, though suss on the 200 metres it apparently was not.

Logged as a Write note, not a DNF, simply because the point of looking for the cache was never reached.

It was a wonderful adventure though, and is highly recommended for the sure-footed adventuring cachers ... likely most that enjoy camping.

Thanks bgrandy for the cache, without which I may have missed altogether the spectacular vistas to be seen on the walk. Smile

Found whilst spending a weekend camping with some friends at the campground, an excellent weekend was had and after finding a random non published/non approved cache at 'Bee Hive Pagoda' (opposite Kookaburra beach for anyone interested) white mushroom and I thought we better go looking for a real cache! This was it ...............and it was a memorable wander that I am sure even the fungi will not forget (even if he was left on a pergoda 250 M from GZ). Thanks for the cache (though rather small or even microish for a regular).

Deserves a favorite point for sure!
added bonus was I was able to get a decent mobile signal from this high point.

#1300 !!! We were out for a day trip from Mudgee where we are house sitting. Here's our Canadian connections: Our son lives in Calgary, my first travel bug was called Bound for Whistler (cause that where our son was living then) and we are about to get a Canadian exchange teacher at our school. Didn't see the Inukshuk but I do have one at home (a special gift from our son). Today was the perfect day for me - a bush walk, a kayak paddle & a cache! SL TFTC Favourite Point !

We'd had a big day out caching in the Blue Mountains yesterday and came to Dunn's Swamp to camp overnight. A fantastic spot and after we'd done out duties at our camp we headed off for a walk to Long Cave and to pick up whatever caches we could find. On the track along the lake we followed the pointer to the Pagoda Lookout and kept going up. We spotted a hiding spot like in the spoiler photo but the camo is long gone and the cache has downsized! It's only a micro now but the view makes up for it. Signed and replaced and headed off to Long Cave. On the way, trying to take a shortcut, we found the archived cache Swann's Dump (http://coord.info/GC68EE) by random chance. This was the cache that was replaced by this one. Amazingly petermcc also found this cache via the same random method 18 months ago!

Thanks!

#4687 - 16:14

After settling ourselves on the campsite we set off to find this cache. On our way up we came across some sudden change of weather; winds, rain and even some lightning. After hiding from most of the rain for a few minutes we decided to continue on to the cache, even though the rocks were getting slippy. After a short search we found this cache at a great location. Thanks for the nice walk up and the cache!

This was an awesome adventure for us and the geokids (4 and 6 years old). From the logs we knew we could take the kids a bit up the path and with a bit of care not to get to close to the cliff by one of us being ahead or on their side, both Dino and Pebbles manged to get all the way up to the highest point! And had loads of fun also on the way down. Awesome views as well and the coolest cache location (no sticks in front anymore but stones - just look for the highest point Smile).

This was a super Favorite for us, thanks bgrandy.

We went camping at Dunns Swamp with Griz4b and family - nice spot. While the kids were fishing I took some time alone and went for a wander up to this one. I love climbing over the pagodas - great fun!

After this cache I tried taking a "short cut" to the nearby Long Cave cache - in the end I chickened out because I was by myself. Perhaps it's possible, perhaps it's not!

Along the way I found another cache - I think it's the original one for this location "Swann's Dump" - http://coord.info/GC68EE. It is located at 32 50' 1.74" S, 150 11' 45.6" E
