Niagara Whirlpool Earthcache Ontario, Canada

A spectacular location to visit.

I'm travelling from Australia with GoodLook, and for close to a month we have driven more than 5500 miles in our rental car whilst caching around the USA and parts of Canada. Stand out moments have included a boat trip in Georgia on Lake Lanier; completely filling my Jasmer Grid (which is not possible to do in Australia); dropping into the ASPGB Mega in New York; socialising at various events; catching up with family friends; attending the GeoWoodstock 2018 Giga; caching in specific US States meaning that I have now cached in all 50 States plus D.C.; and of course the fun involved whilst caching with geo-buddies. What a wonderful adventure it has been!

Hello Keith Watson thanks for setting this earthcache. We visited at 2.00pm today, the aero chair was closed down to the wind. The water was churning anticlockwise - a log was caught in one of the many whorls

Found this on my US/Canada trip where I visited & found caches in 14 states in the USA and 1 Province in Canada.

My first real look at the water here in the Niagra Area. I didn't go on the Areo Car today but did return the next day to give it a go. I was there at 2:59pm and it was going Counterclockwise.

The Aussies travelers have arrived in Niagara Falls and today we took a little tour around the area and collected a few caches whilst taking in the sights. The whirlpools today were going counter clockwise, the cable car ride across the gorge was a fantastic way to check out the direction as well. TFTC

Visited while on holidays here from Australia with TassieGirl13.
We thought it was a lovely picturesque area.
At the time of our visit 9.30am the whirlpool was spinning counter clockwise.
Took a few photos and then went inside the shop to buy a few souveniers.

Visited here with Bedmaker at 9.30 and watched the whirlpool going counter clockwise.
We both enjoyed the area, thanks for bringing us here.

On this day at 3:42 pm it seemed as though the whirlpool was turning clockwise. It was a very cold, windy, and wet day. We had a lot of fun caching in the area. TFTC

Found it at 4:22 PM, our 2nd of 3 finds today, and our 1090th total find. We drove in from Syracuse today, picked up our son (a senior at UB) and had lunch, then headed over the bridge to grab a few caches and see the falls. Noted the direction of the flow (clockwise) , then headed downriver to view the falls before we lost daylight (darned daylight savings time!). We'll post a picture when we get back home tomorrow. Found this one while down in the Niagara area with Crystal Dawns and Dreadnaught grabbing a few caches. We must have been standing next to the Kai Team because we were there at exactly the same time. Will e-mail required info. TFTC

Found with Crystal Dawns and Zoeker Bill. At about 4:25 Zoeker Bill threw me over the edge. When I landed he said I started drifting clockwise.

Found: 01/10/2009 11:05 . Having seen this location so may times in books, movies and on TV it was great to witness it in person . The whirlpool was moving anticlockwise at the time of my visit.
