Lovely spot. TB is missing though, so I visited with one who is traveling with us instead.
In New Zealand we are now driving over the mountains to our next destination. Here we enjoy the landscape. On the way we stop for a good view or for a cache. Many thanks to all owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi from Germany
Day 6 in New Zealand First morning in Owaka so picking up a few around the region. First Mataura then Gore. My first overseas trip ever started off eventful with my tree fishing pole joining me in Brisbane on a later flight after deciding not to travel with me initially, but all sorted and the trip has been stress free since checking out the stunning scenery and picking up caches of various sorts. Went caching with the Qld + 1 crew while in Dunedin but finished up and headed south with GCoven on my way to fly out back to Townsville Australia via Invercargill Thanks Mcroni for placing this Traditional for me to convert into a smilie
Heading to Alexandra from Queenstown and had mapped out some quick caches to find on the way. A nice easy spot to pull off the road here.Lots of volume here today and plenty of melt after the recent snow The cache was found quickly with the good hint. I added my name to the logbook and replaced as found. Noted that the TB that states it is currently here is not in this cache. Thanks for placing
The rain has started but we will not dampen our spirits as we tour Queenstown and surrounds with chooknchunk on our third day of touring NZ.We braved the wet and made our way over to the cache to make a tricky find. Finally after a good search chunk came to rescue and spotted the cache container. Thanks Mcroni for the placement.
Day 3 of our NZ mega mega holiday with The_Tritonz <3: Cromwell to Te Anau via Queenstown. The rain had truly started by now and Meg was roaring away. A quick dash across the road but took a few minutes to find the cache until chunk made the find. TFTC mcroni
I was on the wrong site of the way. But with help from my friend I was go to the other site
#838Travelling from Wnaka to Queenstown after our ski holiday. Stopped at the Roaring Meg lookout, and saw that there was a cache nearby. Searched for a while before Geodad made the find. TFTC!
Happy Geocaching day. Lucky we decided to hunt today after a couple of days off the search. More like a metre of the ground. Tftc
Happy to have found this cache! Was looking in the wrong spot until I read the comments. Good spot to stop on the way from Dunedin to Queenstown! TFTC
Trouve First cache today, on a road trip from QT to Hanmer Springs. Tftc keeping me entertained while driving
Found It!Happy to turn this sad face to a smiley. This was a cache we attempted when we first started and were definitely looking in the wrong tree On the way to the airport in Queenstown so a nice spot for a quick stopTFTCCharlotteAndJordy
Looking across the road I thought the cache might be buried under the heaps of leaves. But no, it was safe secure and dry well away from all the lovely leaves. Thanks for bringing me here.
This took me far too long. I decided ti expand my search radius for my final sweep and the cache sprung to sight. Thanks
Trickier to find than it should have been. The hint isn't quite accurate. Mrs RG found this nice hiding hole eventually. Tftc
Looked for some time but somehow was not able to spot it. Maybe not where it is supposed 5o be anymore
Making our way from Queenstown to Alexandra today after flying in. Stopped at the lookout and grabbed this smiley .
TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
Thank you for the cache!Another day exploring and geocaching in New Zealand with my bestfriend geocacher Ironford. We left Queenstown in the morning, rented a car, and Ironford took the wheel on the RIGHT to drive us on the LEFT to Dunedin. Initially, it felt really weird, but we got so used to it that switching to the "correct" side of the road later felt somehow wrong. We made a few stops for caches and for amazing views during the day.Greetings from Prague, Czech Republic ??
A huge thank you to the cache owner for creating and maintaining a wonderful cache. EP79 and I have embarked on a three-month long geocaching trip across the globe, and we are both grateful and thrilled to discover new places and new friends. The first part of our trip is dedicated to Australia and New Zealand. Today we left Queenstown and drove to Dunedin, making a few stops on the way. Thank you for an amazing find.Sorry for logging with a delay. The trip was really busy, but at least I get to revisit these caches again and enjoy great memories. Many thanks for the invite to a beautiful place and for a wonderful geocaching adventure. Greetings from Prague, the Czech Republic, Europe.
Fun cache! Bit of walking as we crossed the road, but sholva42 saw it quickly as always. Hes too eagle eyed. Doesnt give me a fair chance
On our fifteenth day in New Zealand we drive from Haast to Queenstown. This beautiful cache was on our way.TFTCHennesAt the end comes the poem of the day.New Zealand By James K. Baxter (for Monte Holcroft)These unshaped islands, on the sawyers bench,Wait for the chisel of the mind,Green canyons to the south, immense and passive,Penetrated rarely, seeded onlyBy the deer-cullers shot, or else in the northTribes of the shark and the octopus,Mangroves, black hair on a boxers hand. The founding fathers with their guns and bibles,Botanist, whaler, added bones and namesTo the land, to us a bridleAs if the id were a horse: the swampy townsLike dreamers that struggle to wake,Longing for the poets truthAnd the lovers pride. Something new and oldExplores its own pain, hearingThe rains choir on curtains of grey mossOr fingers of the Tasman pressingOn breasts of hardening sand, as actorsFind their own solitude in mirrors,As one who has buried his dead,Able at last to give with an open hand.
Quick find but in 2nd treeWe also acknowledge the traditional custodians of New Zealand / Aoteroa, as we geocache throughout their land while on holiday. Thanks for showing us this place, & for placing and maintaining this cache. The is our playground
Day 13 of our roadtrip around the south island with Blue Jay. Today we drove from Queenstown to Omarama taking in Clyde and Cromwell along the way. Beautiful scenery and some nice caches. Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining. TFTC. Toffee Man.
On our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, we traveled today from Mount Cook to Te Anau. We visited a few caches along the way. This cache was quickly found along the way.**Mcroni**, thanks for the cache.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Signapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. The day before yesterday we drove from Christchurch to Mount Cook. We had a great day yesterday with excellent weather. Today starts grey and Mount Cook is not visible. It was a short stay because today we are leaving for Te Anau. Since the drive is not too long we have several stops en route because we can't resist the breathtaking views we pass en route. Luckily the weather improves during the day. Everything is even more beautiful with some sun. We also had a stop here. It took us quite a while to find the cache. After that we had lunch and enjoyed the plums which where hanging on a tree. Thank you very much for this cache.
My husband and i are on holidays for 2 weeks from BrisbAne Australia travelling around the south island. Last night t we stayed in Wanaka and today we travelled to Queenstown . We were looking in the wrong tree at first and then when we looked at the correct one we soon spotted the hide in its nice hidey hole. Then it was off to see MEG and wow what an amazing place. Thanks for taking us here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
another short stop and cross the road to get to GZ, Several trees to search eventually found, interestingly I spotted the track on the nearby range which a few days later ended up riding onthanks for the stop.last cache of the day on our day tour around this area
On route from Wnaka to Te Anua to day with a couple of stop offs. Awesome scenery all the way.Thank you for placing, a good find avoiding the tree surgeons
Think I left about half my head of hair in that leafy tree, but I found it.Thank you for pointing out this interesting bit of history!

Sadly a DNF here today. A car full of people was parked right nearby so couldnt throughly search. Nevermind though, the roaring Meg nearby made up for the lack of smiley in this spot.
Way to Queenstown and the only powerstation we met on New Zealand. History of that place was very interesting - hotel! Thanks for the cache and greetings from the Czech Republic.
On our way to Cromwell for a few days on fun First we stopped at the lookout to check out the Meg, well that was a surprise. Then looked at the plaques on the rock, a bit of a memorial to 3 killed in a unimog crash in 2005.So across the road I went with rebel98 who found the cache in 17/2/20, I was looking in the wrong place initially, but searched over the far side, and there was the cache. Thanks for the hide Mcroni, a fun find
I was running a bit ahead of schedule so I stopped off to grab this cache (and look at people swimming down the river). As it turns out the road was shut in the mountains, so I ended up a couple of hours behind schedule instead. What can you do?TFTC!
Thanks Mcroni for the cache. Its #1835 for us. We found your cache on Wednesday 15 November 2023. Took a while - not in the tree closest to the road though!
Stopped for a look at the water across the road and saw that the cache was right across the road so went and got it quickly TFTC
A quick find. What a beautiful drive, lovely scenery, had to sprint across the road to avoid cars! TFTC!Found with AgentDoubbleduck
21/9/2023 Find #6579Day 13 of the Fangsoki/1MinnieMoo New Zealand South Island adventure. The weather in Queenstown wasnt expected to be fantastic so we decided to head to Arrowtown then further on for some older caches. Having made our way to Omakau, we then headed down to Alexandra, wanting to grab two particular caches there. Then it was time to make our way back to Queenstown and the rather unpleasant weather ahead. I had noticed the waterfall here as we drove out this morning and said we should stop for it and the cache on our return journey. At that time the wind had been blowing us about something shocking (120km/hr winds). We thought we might have better luck on the return. However it seems this was not to be the case, as it was pouring with rain on our return instead, and the river and waterfall was just brown by that stage. I made my way over anyway, with my rain jacket on to make a quick find, the last of the day before we retired early back at our accommodation site. Thanks for the cache Mcroni.
Thanks for taking us to this magic little picnic spot. Spent a few minutes reading the sign about the old hotel before having a look for the cache. I don’t find it in the first tree I looked bit it wasn’t too tricky cache found in good condition.
Stopped by, to check out the water... had driven by many times but never stopped. After that, I walked across the road and made a quick find here after getting into the branches, there it was sitting under a light layer of leaf litter.
TFTC Mcroni, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 2 find(s) of 3 today, making this find #4281

This was an easy find today - it was partly visible up close. A nice wee spot on a very busy road. Good to get another older cache
Yeh Nah. Looked in the likely spot for a while, but no good. Leaves were a problem too! Thanks anyway.
Took us two or three minutes, but in the end we found it without much problem.Danke fr den Cache! Thanks for the cache!????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
After spending six months in the wilds of NZ, it's been brilliant to travel with Stumble'sMate around the South Island, camping and geocaching as we go. It's an adventure I'm not ever going to forget! TFTC! Took TB to relocate to Aus.
G'day from Australia!!!Stumble Trip had been in NZ for the past 6mths, working on the Milford Track. Stumble's Mate flew in to meet up with her and we spent the next 2wks traveling the beautiful South Island in a camper. Whilst the weather wasn't favourable for the first week, we had an awesome time and travelled some 3,200+kms, seeing some beautiful sites and staying in just as beautiful campsite along the way. Thanks to all the CO. Unless otherwise stated, all caches were found in good condition.
Yay! TFTC! I came all the way from Vancouver BC Canada to find this cache Thanks for being part of the adventure!

Down in the South Island on a roadie from Northland, with Dodge 1923.... interesting history and wonderful views everywhere. Took us a wee while to find the cache as too many trees to choose from LOL....Thanks for the hide.
Day 3 on our holiday in New Zealand. On the way from Twizel to Te Anau, we also visited this traditional cache, found it, and signed the logbook.
